I had to update, I couldn't even stand my own cliff hanger.
Haruhi stood there on the sidewalk. Her apron in her hands. She could feel the air around her getting cold, a good sign it would rain later that same night. But unlike her Fumie had no problem with the rain, she clapped her hands every time she saw it, it was like a giant bath to her. As Haruhi stood there silently thinking she didn't notice as the rain started to fall around her in dizzles.
'It's raining'Haruhis mind registered the rain as it feel down and hit her head, she could feel it starting to dampen her hair. But then it suddenly stopped
"Kyoya.."Haruhi lifted her head to see Kyoya was standing with her again, holding an umbrella over her head but he wasn't looking at her, he was looking over at the shop near her. His eyes seemed so distant, as if he'd been staring off into a future that seemed out of reach now.
"I'm not happy with you right now Haruhi, but I won't let that be an excuse for neglecting you"Kyoya motioned to the limo where his driver stood holding the door open for them. Haruhi nodded and got inside not bothering to argue with him. He had every right not to be happy with her right now, she had basically picked to go with Tamaki knowing it would hurt him. So they sat in silence on the drive to Haruhis house
'What do I say to him… he looks upset'Haruhi pressed her forehead against the window, watching as the condensation formed a cloud of white from her breath, she watched Kyoyas reflection. He was sitting on the opposite side of her, looking out the window, his hands rested in his lap away from her.
They stayed like that until reaching Haruhis house, it was still raining by that time but it had gotten a bit heavier, since Haruhis house was closer to the mountains then the city was.
"You're not coming up?"Haruhi got out of the limo and looked back expecting Kyoya to follow her but he remained in his spot. But he was at least facing her now, his eyes hidden by the glare on his glasses.
"No I'll be returning to my office"His answer was flat, he had nothing left to say to her and Haruhi was well aware of that.
"I'll be seeing you then, goodbye"Haruhi bowed feeling like it was as close to an apology as he'd let her attempt at the moment. Then she walked away towards her home as Kyoya left, heading off to his office where no doubt he had nothing to do, he had after all cleared his schedule for her today.
'What do you think he does on those nights when he doesn't stay with you?'Tamakis words echoed in Haruhis head as she stood there on her porch. She turned the key to and stepped inside, leaving her wet shoes on the side to dry off.
"Dad?"Haruhi called as she stepped into her house, she walked into the living room to see her father sitting there on the floor with Fumie. He held a book in his hands and was showing Fumie all the pictures in it.
"Haruhi dear how was work? And where's Kyoya? I thought you two had something planned for tonight?"Ranka looked up at his daughter wondering why she was home so early, he had expected her to come back until very late since she had after all told him this morning how her and Kyoya were possibly going to take that next step into a very serious area.
"Work was fine dad, and Kyoya had to do something"Haruhi hung up her damp apron and patted down her wrinkled blue T-shirt. She joined her father and Fumie on the floor, ignoring her father's worried glances.
-Tamaki mansion—
"Haruhi why do you make me do such things, my princess"Tamaki whispered as he laid there alone in his bed. He stared up at the tall ceiling, his eyes following the smooth shapes of the wood. He pushed his hair back away from his eyes, and took in a breath.
"Souh are you ready"A female voice called from the master bathroom as Tamaki continued to lay there thinking about things.
"Perhaps I'll just buy the land she lives on… or force her into poverty so she'd have to take me back….or maybe I'll just have to keep forcing her away from Kyoya until she feels alone…why can't she just come back to me"Tamaki mumbled as the sound of footsteps across the cool marble drew his attention to the women standing beside his bed
"Yes princess I'm ready, forgive my absent mindedness I've been thinking a lot about my queen lately"Tamaki sat up as the women came to sit beside him, her body draped over his back.
"Where is your queen Souh?"Her voice was ever so innocent, proving how unaware she was of the situation
"She's been put under the spell of an evil lord my sweet, but I'll be sure to set her free"Tamaki tilted his head up and looked at the women behind him. His hands moved to touch her face.
"Does that mean you won't be seeing me anymore?"The women asked as she pulled away from Tamaki so she could fix herself to sit next to him again.
"We'll see princess, I would love to have many princesses but of course there can only be one queen, my sweet Haruhi"Tamaki looked over at the picture he kept of Haruhi on his desk, it was their wedding photo, with Haruhi in her beautiful gown.
-Kyoya at the main office—
"Mister Otoori you're back early"Kyoya secretary bowed as she pushed open the double doors leading to Kyoyas office. She held the tea he had requested in her hands, but she entered with caution. He hadn't said anything to her expect that he requested tea, he normally was at least polite enough to say hello.
"Leave the tea on my desk, I'm not taking any calls"Kyoya stood there at his book shelf, removing a few files that he began to review. He wasn't in the mood to pretend to care about anyone.
"Yes Sir, should I tell Miss Fujioka you're too busy than?"His secretary pointed to the phone on his desk, a small red light was beeping. Kyoya looked back at his desk and at the phone. He had never once ignored Haruhi by choose.
"Leave"Kyoya didn't have to tell her twice, his secretary had enough of his horrible attitude for one evening. So when Kyoya sat down at his desk and picked up the phone she was already gone.
"Hello?"
"Hi.."
"Hello Haruhi, what can I do for you?"Kyoya knew he sounded cold, but he couldn't help it, he was still upset. But the fact that she called him just let him know she was still thinking about him, and that was a nice thought.
"Nothing"
"Then why are you calling?"Even kyoya could tell that was a bit too harsh, he felt bad for it immediately but knew apologizing would make anything better.
"I.. I just wanted to know if you were still coming by tonight"
"Yes I'll stop by on my way home to say good night to Fumie"Kyoya felt his heart soften a bit, she was worried he wasn't going to see her again. She was afraid, and he was the one causing her that fear which only made him feel bad about the way he was treating her.
"Okay...bye"And with that Haruhi hung up, leaving Kyoya there holding the phone to his ear, listening to the dial tone.
"Why do I have to be so difficult with her"Kyoya took in a breath and watched the steam from his tea rise. He has being an ass to her.
-Later that Night—
"Perhaps I shouldn't have stayed so late"Kyoya walked up to Haruhis front door, he knocked lightly not wanting to wake Fumie since she should have gone to bed already. So he was surprised when Haruhi opened the door so suddenly.
"Hi"Haruhi stood there dressed in a light pink robe the twins had given her as a birthday present a few years ago. She stepped aside so Kyoya could come in and remove his shoes.
"Hello Haruhi, I'm sorry for coming by so late, is Fumie already in bed?"Kyoya asked as he removed his shoes and stepped inside. Although he really didn't need to remove his shoes, Haruhi had grown up doing that and it only felt right he followed her customs when in her house, after all she wore house slippers inside his home.
Yes.. will you be staying tonight?"Haruhi moved into the living room and was standing by the hall way, unsure of what he had been planning to do. She looked nervous.
'She's being so formal…I really must apologize'Kyoya thought as he looked at her, she wasn't even looking at him; her eyes were on the ground. She must have been thinking about today since he'd dropped her off, and with the way he'd spoken to her on the phone she must have really been worried.
"Yes, I'll met you in bed after I freshen up"Kyoya watched as Haruhi disappeared into the bedroom and closed the door behind her, leaving him there to get ready.
-Haruhi—
'I can do this!'Haruhi thought as she stood there in her dark bedroom now. Her fingers playing with the knot on her robe, it was made of silk so undoing a knot really wasn't very difficult but with the way her hands moved, it might as well have been a triple knotted piece of rubber.
'I really care about him.. I mean I'm not in love with him or anything yet but…. I want to stay with him and share more moments together'Haruhi thought as she removed her robe and placed it over the chair on her vanity. She slipped under the covers and closed her eyes now.
'And Kyoya's different then Tamaki.. he'll be different, he already treats me different then Tamaki did'Haruhi let her thoughts sink in as she laid there in the dark, the cold sheets gave her goose bumps as she heard the bathroom door close.
'There's no way I won't be able to enjoy this.. after all even with Tamaki I enjoyed it, well I think I enjoyed it…. Sex isn't any like Hikaru and Kaoru describe it'Haruhi thought as she remembered the times she had caught Hikaru or Kaoru returning home early after a fling they'd had the night before, they'd tell her stories about how much the girls would scream and beg for more after they were done, but maybe that was just there way of trying to get her to sleep with them, not that they'd ever directly say that. But then Haruhi's thoughts stopped as she heard the bathroom door open and then her bed room door open as well.
"Haruhi are you still awake?"Kyoya voice was clam now, he certainly didn't seem as upset as he was earlier that day. Haruhi nodded yes knowing Kyoya could see her shadow clearly moving by the way he moved to the other side of the bed and slipped under the covers.
They both laid there silently for a moment, with 2 feet distance between then Kyoya couldn't help but feel like Haruhi was scared of him now.
"Haruhi I'm not upset anymore, please come here"Kyoya turned over onto his side, watching as Haruhi moved a bit closer to him, but was still too far for him to hold her.
"Haruhi are you angry with me?"His voice was now softer and more apologetic, he watched carefully as Haruhi shook her head no, he was able to see her more clearly now that his eyes had adjusted to the darkness of the room.
Kyoya signed as he decided she wasn't going to get any closer to him so he might as well come to her, after all if she was uncomfortable he'd just move away again. He moved over to her and placed his hand on her waist to pull her close.
'Is she not..'Kyoya thought as he felt his hand on the bare skin on her hip, he had meant to pull her to him but now he just laid there, propped up next to her, his hand frozen against her skin.
"Haruhi why are you doing this?"
This is a cliff hanger I can live with
