Hello everyone!

I'm very happy to say that I'm in a much better state from when I last posted. I'm okay :)

Here's a new chapter!

When The City Turns Dark

Part Seven

Rachel and Kurt had decided that they should plan their duet for Glee Club straight away and so, to Kurt's annoyance, Rachel rushed over to his house after the school day was over. Don't get him wrong, Kurt loved Rachel. She could be a good friend, when she wasn't fighting people for solo's or arguing with Quinn over the tall Quarterback. Yes, Rachel was ambitious and she wanted to be a star, but doesn't everyone? Everybody wants to be able to wake up one day and say "I made it." Everyone wants success. Rachel was just a little more open about her dreams, that's all. Otherwise, Rachel was a kind, bubbly girl who had an outstanding voice.

Kurt stared up at the ceiling as he lay on the bed. Rachel sat at his desk, asking about song choices but then making a decision before Kurt could even open his mouth. The conversation was one-sided to say the least.

The grey-eyed boy couldn't help but let thoughts invade his head.

What can I do to tease him next?

How am I sure it was Blaine on the rooftop that night?

Is Blaine even Nightbird?

Ugh... Maybe I should just ask him.

But what if I ask him, and he isn't Nightbird. He'll get really offended!

Kurt sighed.

"Kurt? Are you even listening to me?" Rachel demanded.

"Honestly? No, I'm not."

Rachel frowned, putting a song sheet down on the desktop. "What's the point of me being here if you're not going to cooperate with me?"

"I don't know, Rachel." Kurt spoke tiredly.

Rachel studied him for a moment. "Are you alright? You seem a little distracted."

"I don't know any more." Kurt admitted. Rachel got up and moved towards the bed. The male sat up as she sat down on the edge next to him.

"What's bothering you, babe?" Rachel asked softly. That had become Rachel's pet name for him recently. Kurt wasn't sure how he felt about it, but every time she used it he became more comfortable with it.

Kurt was going to ask her if she could keep a secret, but he already knew the answer was no. Not that she would admit that, of course, but she would normally keep it for about a day, if that, before telling people. It wasn't her fault, she was just a very open person.

"Nothing. It doesn't matter." Kurt shrugged it off.

"Hey, it matters, Kurt. If it's bothering you, you need to talk someone about it. I'm here for you."

Should I tell her? Kurt thought.

Blaine got home from school and headed straight to the kitchen. As much as he loved being in McKinley with Kurt, the cafeteria food was awful. Well, not to the same standards as Dalton's food anyway. Blaine opened the refrigerator door and inspected the food inside. What can I make?

"Hi Blaine." Nancy spoke cheerfully, scaring Blaine in the process, causing him to bang his head on the refrigerator. "How was school?"

"Ah, Nancy. It was good, thank you." He turned to her, rubbing the back of his head with his hand. "Where are my parents?"

"They're at work, won't be home until late." She informed.

As usual. Blaine thought as he shut the refrigerator door.

"Oh! Are you hungry Blaine? Would you like me to make you a sandwich or something?" The short blonde asked sweetly.

"Uh, No I'll do it. Thanks though." Blaine smiled.

"Of course. Well, I best start on the ironing. Just call me if you need anything, honey." Nancy turned and skipped out of the room. Blaine grinned as he watched her go. He loved Nancy, she was like the big sister Blaine never had. Unfortunately, Blaine had a stuck-up asshole of an older brother instead, but he was never home.

Nancy was a people person, happy all of the time. She was funny and smart, and really good at her job as a housekeeper. Blaine was surprised that his parents actually hired somebody with a sense of humour, considering they didn't have one. Okay, maybe that's not fair, his father didn't have a sense of humour. Blaine's mother had one, a big one in fact, but she hid it when his father was around. It was just easier that way.

Blaine grabbed a packet of Cheetos puffs from the cupboard and went to his room. The curly-headed boy put the snack down on the bedside table, sat on his bed and pulled his shirt over his head to reveal his tanned, bare chest. He ran his fingers through his gelled down hair, freeing the curls from the prison on gel. Blaine couldn't stop thinking about what had happened at lunch time.

Why was Kurt acting like that? In public too!

What does it mean?

I think I should ignore it.

Blaine nodded to himself before opening the packet of Cheetos puffs and letting the cheesy snack melt on his tongue.

Yeah, I'll ignore it.

Tina sat at her desk, studying for her upcoming Chemistry test. She sighed in annoyance when a song she didn't approve of started to play on her iPod. She reached over to change it over. Just as she picked up her pen once again, her phone buzzed, signalling that there was a new text message. She dropped the pen and read the newly received text.

Asian Persuasion,

Do you have any more findings on The Llamanator?

We need to track him down, he needs to be stopped!

I'm counting on you. Don't keep me waiting.

- Boss.

Tina forwarded the messaged to Sam and Blaine in a panic. Boss was tired of waiting, they had to work fast.

Be prepared for some ultimate Nightbird/Llamanator scenes next chapter!

Any more guesses on who 'Boss' is? ;)
