Summary: Lily Swan once known as Yuri Kuran is returning to Forks from her extremely overprotective brother/fiancée Kaname Kuran. Her life has been complicated ever since she remembered her past life and remembered who Kaname was. Now she has to deal with her older adopted sister moving to forks and all the trouble that comes with her.

Chapter 8

Lily's POV

I watched cautiously as Emmett got done talking on the phone with Edward and Alice. He seemed worried which was unusual for the usually cheerful male.

Finally Emmett hung up the phone and I looked at him, "Emmett what's going on?"

"James is after Bella"

"But there are seven of you. You can keep her safe"

"That's the problem he's a tracker. Trackers never give up hunting their prey, until they catch the prey or they die trying. According to Edward James is obsessed with Bella, he wants to eat him and he apparently wants you too but he wants more of a challenge and Edward was so protective he made Bella the main target."

I swallowed nervously I could take care of myself but I wasn't so sure of my sister. I trusted the Cullens but even then I was still worried.

"Em what are we supposed to do now." I looked at Emmett with pleading eyes.

Emmett gave me a hug, "It'll be okay Lil, Rose, Alice, Jasper, Esme, and I will protect you. We'll also protect Bella," I nodded listening to Emmett and feeling reassured by his words.

I decided to change my clothes and Emmett pointed me to Rosalie's room.

When I got back downstairs everyone was gathered and Laurent was downstairs with the rest of the Cullens. Bella was with them. Her eyes held unshed tears. Tension filled the room. For some reason, Esme and Carlisle were standing apart as if they had gotten into a fight. She could tell Jazz, Emmett and Rosalie were also angry with Carlisle and Alice seemed disappointed too. For the moment she set that issue aside to deal with her sister's obvious unhappiness

"Nee chan what happened?" I asked giving my sister a big hug

"I had to keep Charlie safe. I told him I wanted to leave"

I could feel my eyes widening, whatever she said would have broken dad's heart. Instead of yelling at Bella as I felt like doing I turned to Jasper. "Jazz why is Laurent here"

"He was interested in our diet and has information on James"

Laurent started to explain about James and Victoria. When all the facts were laid in front of me I felt worry rush through my being. I wasn't worried about myself I was scared for Bella, Bella was a magnet for trouble.

Esme pulled me out my thoughts, "Come on Lily, you're going to go with me"

"What about Bella?" I asked.

"She's going to Phoenix with Alice and Jasper. Rosalie is going to be the bait and hopefully it will distract James and Victoria and both of you will be safe"

Timeskip/Normal POV

Lily walked out of her sister's hospital room. She let out a sigh of relief it was over, James wouldn't be coming after Bella again but now she was worried about Victoria. From what she knew about the incident James had been killed but Victoria was still out there and Lily just knew that the woman would comeback for revenge. She watched as her Dad and Renee fussed over her sister while Edward pretended to sleep. Lily felt like crying. If it wasn't for the fact her sister was in the hospital she would have flung herself into her sister's arms.

Finally her dad and Renee left to talk to the doctors and Lily really did start crying.

"Lily" Bella said softly, "Don't cry I'm okay"

"I know" Lily bit her bottom lip, "but you almost died and Victoria is still out there. You can't die, you're my sister, and it would break dad's heart,"

Bella smiled at her sister softly, she may be jealous of the girl when it came to the Cullens but when it really came down to it she loved her sister and didn't want to see her cry. It was also nice to know that her sister cared about her.

"Don't cry Lily, the Cullens won't let anything happen to me or you. They are good people. Come here Lils" Lily climbed into the hospital bed with Bella and was cradled into her arms

"I know but the truth is you almost died"

Bella hugged her sister and the two shared a small amount of sisterly bonding time before Lily left so Edward and Bella could have some alone time.

More time passed and Bella and Edward attended prom. Lily found it a little funny when her sister had to practically waddle on the dance floor because of her cast. It only became awkward when Jake showed up to prom to see Bella. Lily knew what he probably had come for. He danced with Bella first and Lily watched Edward sending daggers at Jake from behind.

Finally they stopped dancing and Jake approached Lily. He was a lot calmer and happier when he approached her.

"Lils" he said picking her up and spinning her around.

"Hey Jakey" Lily said with a smile and gave her friend a hug, "here to see Bella"

Jake blushed and tried to disagree, "I don't know what you're talking about"

"You like her" Lily said with a small smile.

Jake's shoulder's sagged with what seemed like relief, "You're not mad"

"Jakey I want you to be happy. Your one of my closest friends. I just don't know if Nee chan will give you a chance. She really loved Edward" …maybe a little too much. Lily chose not to say the last part out loud.

"I know but I have to try"

Lily pulled Jacob into a hug and they just held each other in the middle of the dance floor. Whatever happened they would try to help each other and stick together through thick and thin
