I got up and it was the biggest day of my life. It was bigger than the start of the games. Today was my wedding day to my chosen fiance, Gale Hawthorne. To be honest, I had been looking forward to this day since dad had told me Gale was my intended. Actually, it was known in our district that Gale was actually one of the most eligable men besides Peeta so all in our town knew it would be a good marriage.

My prep team went the extra mile on my appearence from making sure my skin was glowing to making sure that my hair was perfectly styled and that there wasn't a strand out of place. They also applied some bold but tasteful makeup. After awhile, I was finally done in preperation and now, it was time for Cinna to dress me.

When I was in my dress and all my accessories in place, Cinna presented me with a gift. It was a necklace with a phoenix charm and a jewel with the colors of fire. "Thank you Cinna, it's perfect" I complimented as he placed it around my neck.

"You're more than welcome Phoenix. Come on and let's get you down to the chariot hold. It's almost time for the ceremony and may I see, of all the tributes I have dressed for 12, you and Katniss are the finest I have ever had the honor of dressing" he told me me. I blushed lightly as I caught a glimpse of my finished reflection one last time before following him out of the dressing room and down to the chariot hold for my grand entrance.

The chariot was decorated with red and yellow roses and I saw Cinna held a torch of the same synthetic fire he had used for me and Katniss at our parades as I stepped into the chariot. "Lighting me on fire one last time" I asked.

"Yes and I promise that this will be your most blazing entrance yet" Cinna told me as the gates slowly opened. He touched the tip of the torch to my dress as the drums began beating and the trumpets began the fanfare. With that, the horses trotted out of the chariot hold, pulling my chariot out of the hold and out to that familiar circle.

I had been waiting long enough for this moment. Now, here I stood on the grand platform where the crowning ceremony would normally take place. Soon, there was that familiar fanfare plus the deafening cheer of those in attendance. Right then, I looked out to see a blazing vision. Phoenix looked even more breath taking as the chariot came closer and stopped at the foot of the stairs.

Phoenix stepped out of the chariot carefully, her angel face hidden behind her veil as her father led her up the stairs. When they stopped, Haymitch gave me her hand and whispered "Take care of my little fire bird. I nodded as we faced the official.

We stared into each other's eyes as the official recited what we needed to repeat and we finally made it to the best part, the kiss. The fire on her veil had disappeared as I tossed it back. "Go ahead and kiss your bride" the official told me. I held her close and kissed her softly as the crowd cheered again.

Phoenix's P.O.V

I could hear the roar of the crowd again as Gale finally let me go to breathe. He finally led me down the grand stairs and we stepped back into the chariot. The horse finally got back to the hold and we hurried out of the chariot and out to the streets where a vehicle was waiting to take us to the train station.

Once we made it to the train station, we hurried on. I hated to skip the feast that was supposed to be prepared in our honor but both Gale and my father were ready to head home. Secretly, I was ready to head home too. Just then, I saw the crowds rushing to the platform to see us off as the train pulled away.

At last, Gale and I were able to go to our seperate compartments and change out of our ceremony clothes and into normal clothes. When we were finished, Effie called us to the table for our meal and were served a delicious feast and Effie insisted on proposing a toast. "To our newlywed victors" she said, raising her chalice.

"And to the end of the games" I added before we took a sip. Tonight, I would get to share the first of many nights with Gale in a private compartment and as soon as we returned to District 12, we would settle into our home together and share the traditional toast. I hoped now that life would be better for all of us after I had defied death and fell in love.
