Master Sword Recharged -Part 2 Trial of Power
(Welcome back readers! It's time for another trial, what will our heroes have to face this time? As we all know, Link and Rikku had to face Odolwa in the Trial of Courage; so what will they face in the Trial of Power, and who will Link be faceing it with? Let's join them now in the Temple of Time!)
Auron: You've returned.
Rikku: Yep.
Link: Wasn't expecting it to just be me and Rikku.
Lulu: As long as you accomplish your goal, it doesn't matter.
(Our heroes make their way to the next trial, the Trial of Power, symbolized by the Goron's Ruby. As they pass through the invisible barrier, Link and Lulu come through the other side. They are in a dark hallway, cobwebs fill the corners of the the hall; the floor missing in spotty patches. In the dark depths of the hall, the duo hears the sound of stone slabs hitting the ground, and the shuffling of feet, being dragged on the stone floor.)
Lulu: Where are we?
Link: Arbiter Grounds... in the Gerudo Desert.
(As they make their way carefully along the crumbling pathways, they are stopped in their tracks by a blood curtling scream)
Redead: EYAHHHHHHHHHH!
Link: Ah great! I hate these damn things!
Lulu: The dead walk. Where is Yuna when you need her!
Link: I know just how to deal with the bone bags.
(Link pulls out the ocarina, and strikes up a melody, that affects the sun itself, moving night to day; The Sun's Song. As the song takes effect, all of the Redead freeze in place through supernatural power. Link cuts through with his sword, while Lulu burns them with Firaga. A large key appears in front of Link and he picks it up.)
Link: The boss key...
Lulu: Odd that a key would appear.
Link: You know... i should be used to this.
(Lulu and Link continue moving through the dark corridors, and come to a large elaborate door with a single large lock held in place by four chains. Link holds the key up to it, and the the lock falls with a loud metallic thunk. The duo walks through the now open door, and step into a large chamer filled with sand. In the middle is a large skull half buried in the sand. A black sword stick out of the sand, jutting from the skull between its empty eyesockets.)
Lulu: What is that?
Link: If i recall correctly... it is the Twilit Fossil: Stallord.
Lulu: what do you mean "Twilit"?
Link: The last time I was here, was with Midna, she was a Twili... Ganon.. he.. was controlling her brother, Zant. Using Zant, he was able to control the powers of twilight to make corrupted shadow creatures. This thing was one of them.
(Link steps forward, toward the black sword, and the room begins to rumble. A black shadow sparks throughout the skull and sword and the creature rises from the sands covering the floor. The room is shaking so violently, that rocks and sand begin to fall from the darkness covering the ceiling. Stallord attacks, sending waves of Stalchildren and Stalfos after Link and Lulu.)
Link: Damn, here they come!
Lulu: Focus Link. You cut through and take care of Stallord. I'll take care of these.
Link: I'm going to have to improvise, since I can't get up to its head.
(Link puts on the Goron mask. The transformation ends, and Goron Link curls into a ball. He spins rapidly in place, and rockets forward. Spikes jut out of his rocky hide as he gains momentum. Link hits his first target; Stallord's lowest vertebrae. Stallord begins crumbling down as each vertebrae cracks and crumbles as it's own weight falls in on itself, like a wrecking ball to a skyscraper. Link comes to a stop beside Lulu and he takes off the mask. Stallord now crashes complete, falling into a pile of old bones.)
Lulu: We've done it.
Link: Not yet.
(Stallord once again flashes with shadow energy. It now, just a head, floats menacingly above them. Link puts on the Fierce Deity Mask)
FD Link: Lulu, let's end this!
Lulu: Right! FIRAGA!
FD Link: DIN'S INFERNO!
(Stallord is engulfed in flames, glassing the entire room, that was covered in sand from the shear force of our heroes magic. Stallord's glassed body falls to the floor and shatters, leaving only a pillar of light in the center of the room. Lulu and Link walk over and enter the column of light, and return to the foyer, The Goron's Ruby now in Link's possession.)
Yuna: Lulu! Link! You're back!
Link: Yeah. Two down, one to go.
Rikku: I hate to ask... but what did you guys have to face? Not another spider I hope?
Lulu: Undead.
Wakka: You kidding, ya?
Link: No joke Wakka. Zombies … and skeletons.
Auron; Time for the final trial.
(Our heroes enter the final portal... The Trial of Wisdom. Link and Auron pass through the other side. When they gain their bearings, the realize they are outside, in the outskirts of a large city, floating miles above a lake.)
Auron: Where are we?
Link: The city of the Ooca. We are floating 5 miles above Lake Hylia. I have a feeling I know who we are going to be facing.
Auron: Who?
(suddenly a large shadow flies overhead heading in to the middle of the city.)
Link: That... the Twilit Dragon: Argorok.
(Link and Auron set forth, traversing the decaying city. Unlike the first time Link was there, it is devoid of life; all except the random Dinolfos. Auron and Link cut through every enemy they find. Link grabs the Boss Key dropped by the Dinolfos he just killed, and the Walk to the Boss room door, just like in the Trial of Power... and they enter.)
(well folks, that's it for this chapter, and yes it is another short one. Link is one step away from gaining The Zora's Sapphire. Will Auron and Link be able to kill Argorok? Find out in the next chapter of Shadows... Over... Spira! Next chapter Master Sword Recharged – Argorok falls.)
