Master Sword Recharged – Argorok falls
(Welcome back folks, to another chapter of Shadows Over Spira! Auron and Link have entered the final trial, The Trial of Wisdom. Their boss? The Twilit Dragon – Argorok. How are they going to destroy this evil creature? Let's join them now in the Boss Chamber.)
Auron: Well that is a big dragon.
Link: Wait here.
Auron: Go. First sign of trouble
Link: I know.
(Argorok swoops down and across the open platform, causing the wind to blow worse than it already is. Link equips the Iron Boots and claw shots, and waits for the dragon to make another pass. It does so and Link fires at its tail latching on, drag down on Argorok. It screeches and struggles to fly but cannot due to the extra weight from Link and the Iron Boots. They both fall down and Argorok crashes to the platform and its armor falls from its body and wings, leaving only its head lightly armored. Argorok Flies back into the sky and the platform shakes as a ring of Peahats loosen themselves and float high above the pillars, hovering in the sky.)
Link: I hate this dragon...
Auron: Focus. We have to figure out how to reach it.
(Link takes a quick look around the open platform He notices the four Pillars at each corner. He digs into his back and pulls out the FD mask, and his dual claw shots.)
FD Link:(tosses Auron the claw shots) With those.
Auron: And how will you get up to it?
(FD Link takes off running, straight up one of the pillars)
FD Link: Like this!
Auron: Heh. Show off.
(Auron follows suit, using the Claw Shots to climb the pillars. Fierce Deity is already at the top of the pillar, standing on a Peahat, waiting on Auron. Auron reaches the top just as Argorok swoops in and hovers in the circle of the Peahats. It starts breathing fire taking out the creaturs one by one.)
Auron: Now what?
FD Link: We get behind it, and jump on its back, then its fair game!
(Fierce Deity and Auron, leap from creature to creature, slowing circling Argorok. They reach its back and jump on, just as its breath attack burns the last floating creature. When the duo stands, two flying Dinofols swoop in on them. Auron fires the claw shot at one, latching on to its shield. He pulls it down to Argoroks back, Fierce Deity slices it in two. The second fiend swoops in knocking Auron off balance and he falls off Argorok. Fierce Deity jumps and does a spin attack mid jump and destroys the second fiend, just as Auron makes his way back up a pillar. F.D runs along Argorok's backside, draws the Great Fairy Sword, and lunges at armor covering its head. The Great Fairy Sword shatters upon impact.)
FD Link: Heh... that was unexpected.
Auron: What happened?
FD LinK: Damn sword couldn't handle the force.
Auron: Move!
(Fierce Deity moves back and gives Auron space to move. Auron draws his sword and swings down with all his might. The blow hits it mark; the protective armor on Argorok's head shatters and Argorok screaches in pain. Black shadowy blood begins to flow from the eye on top of it's head. Auron lifts the sword once more, bringing it down like a ton of bricks. Auron's blade sticks into Argorok's eye, but doesn't kill it. Auron Steps back, and FD comes running forward with the speed of the Pegasus Boots. He jumps, and brings down the Megaton Hammer onto the hilt of Auron's blade, splitting Argorok's head in two! Auron and Fierce Deity jump from Argorok and land safely on the platform below. The duo stands and looks into the sky above them, just in time to see Argorok explode into a mass of pyreflies. And another pillar of light forms in the middle of the platform. Link removes the FD mask, and he and Auron enter the pillar of light, returning to foyer of the Temple; the Zora Sapphire safely in hand.)
Yuna: Link, Sir Auron. You've returned!
Link: Yeah. The final trial is complete!
Lulu: What now?
(Link walks to the center of the room to the engraved stone in the floor. Suddenly the slab begins to glow and a ethereal voice can be heard as it opens, revealing a stair way down into the crypt below.)
"Well done, Hero of Light. Approach my sarcophagus and present the 3 symbols of the triforce! Then you will be faced with a final challenge. Overcome this, as you have the others, only then will the Master Sword Awaken, and the Triforce of Courage return!"
Link: Let's go.
(Link and company make their way down the flight of stairs, the darkness receeding as the torches on the walls light up with each step. At the bottom of the stairs, they come to a large chamber with a single stone coffin in the middle of the room sitting on an altar with 3 indentations. Link steps forward and places each jewel on the altar. The Kokiri Emerald on the left, Zora Sapphire on the right, and in the center, the Goron's Ruby. The 3 jewels then receed into the altar, and a sword pedestal rises in their place.)
"Hero of Light. Return the Master Sword to the Pedestal of Time! Begin the final Trial and prove you're worth!"
(Link does as the voice commands, and places the Master Sword back into the Pedestal of Time. When he does a bright light engulfs him and the others, sending them back to an age long since passed)
(And there we have it folks. All 3 trials completed, just one more step until the Master Sword returns! I do have to wonder, folks... Where in Din's name have our heroes been sent to? Guess we'll find out next time in Shadows Over Spira! Next chapter The Imprisioned falls – Hero of Light Returns!)
