"Were you a miracle worker in a previous life or something?" Bianca questioned as she walked into the house that evening, Heath in tow
"What do you mean?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at her
"Our place" she began, motioning to her and Heath "has never been so tidy, or stocked up on food. How did you manage it?"
"A little persuasion and a bit of hard work" I replied, smiling at her warmly "so you're happy?"
"Very, thank you" she proclaimed, hugging me tightly "you're more than welcome to do it again anytime you like"
"I think Heath can do it for himself now, right, Heath?" I inquired, raising an eyebrow at him
"I think I can manage" he admitted, smiling at me warmly "and all thanks to you. I owe you one"
"I'll remember that" I informed him "now go on, go and enjoy your place"
"Oh, did we interrupt?" Bianca questioned as Brax walked out of the bedroom
I pursed my lips together and glanced at Brax…
"Hey" Casey and Tamara greeted us in unison as they walked up the pathway
"Great" Brax mumbled, me elbowing him in reply
"Hi" I mirrored as I saw Casey carrying a sleeping Jacob on his shoulder "has he ate?"
"Yep" he informed me "shall I just put him straight to bed?"
"Think you can manage to get him into his pyjamas without waking him up? Those clothes look like they could do with being washed and his bedding was fresh on yesterday" I questioned
"I think so" he informed me
"Good luck" I replied "and thank you, both of you"
He and Tamara smiled at me as they made their way down the corridor and into Jacob's bedroom. Saying goodnight to Heath and Bianca, I shut the front door behind us…
"Well that's the end of that then" Brax sighed
"We had a fun few hours" I replied, leaning onto my tiptoes to kiss him softly
"Yeah, but I was hoping for" he admitted, wrapping his arms around my waist
"Don't be greedy" I chuckled, pulling away from him and making my way into the kitchen "you want some food?"
He nodded his head, signalling yes…
A little while later…
"Where's Brax?" Tamara questioned as she made her way into the kitchen
"I could ask the same about Casey" I replied
"He's in the shower. He was in the water with Jacob most of the day" she informed me
"He wasn't any trouble, was he?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at her
"None at all" she replied "so where's Brax?"
"Gone to the restaurant just to check on things and get the books" I informed her "you and Casey hungry? I'm making pasta"
"Please" she proclaimed "Jacob may have ate but I'm starving"
