BRAX'S POV:

"RICKY" I shouted, spluttering as the dust and debris continued to fall "Ricky, can you hear me?"

"Brax" she replied

"Come on, Sir, we have to get you out" a medic informed me

"I'm not leaving my girlfriend" I proclaimed, pushing him off of me "she's pregnant. I'm not going anywhere until I know she's okay"

"We'll get her out as soon as we can, Sir, but we have to clear the building" he explained "please"

"Ricky, they'll get you out soon, okay?" I questioned

"Okay" she whispered. I could tell from the break in her voice she was crying. Was she in pain? Was the baby okay?

Doing as the medic asked, I made my way out of the building to be seen to…

"Brax?" Heath's voice called as I finished getting patched up "what the hell happened? Where's Ricky?"

"She's inside" I informed him "they've not got her out yet. The ceiling caved in and she was thrown backwards"

"Is she okay?" he inquired

"She was talking, that's something, right?" I questioned

He nodded his head, signalling yes, placing his hand on my back…

"What about the baby?" Bianca asked

I shrugged my shoulders… "How many pregnant people do you know who go through an explosion and the baby survives?"

She glanced at Heath and swallowed a lump in her throat, Heath smiling at me sympathetically…

"She said something was wrong. She could feel something wasn't right. I should've listened to her, I should've rebooked the appointment or something" I sighed

"Listen to me, alright?" Bianca questioned "how were you supposed to know something like this would happen? You're not a mind-reader. It's just a tragedy. No one could've prevented it"

"Bianca's right, Brax" Heath replied "it's just a terrible thing. No one could've stopped it"

I ran my hands over my face and stared at the doors to the hospital, praying Ricky would be out soon…

RICKY'S POV:

"Ricky, are you okay?" I heard Nate's voice ask as I lay trapped

"I think so" I replied

"What about the baby?" he questioned

"I think I've miscarried" I admitted, pursing my lips together to try and stop a sob escaping "I can see blood and my stomach hurts. When am I getting out of here?"

"Soon. The fire crew are working on getting me to you now" he informed me

"Please hurry" I whispered

No more than a few minutes later, a huge piece of rubble was removed and Nate came into view, crouching down next to me…

"Where's the pain?" he questioned

"My stomach and my leg" I informed him, glancing down at the piece of ceiling that had fell onto my leg "I think it's broken"

He nodded his head in agreement… "Your stomach pain, on a scale of 1 to 10, how bad is it?"

"8 or 9" I informed him "I've miscarried, haven't I? I've lost my baby, right?"

"I'm sorry, Ricky" he sighed

"I knew something was wrong" I admitted "I had a gut feeling"

"It's okay" he assured me "I'll be back in a minute"

"Where are you going?" I inquired

"I need to tell the medics we need to clear more space to get a stretcher in here and to get you out safely" he informed me "I won't be long"

Nodding my head in understanding, he left again, returning no more than a few minutes later…

"Let's have a look at this leg, shall we?" he suggested

"Are you okay to move that?" I questioned worriedly

He nodded and began to move it off my leg slowly, me wincing as I felt some relief after having it trapped for so long… "How much pain is there now?"

"Quite a lot" I admitted "about a 7"

"Okay" he replied "there's no bleeding which is good. It means there's no internal damage"

I sighed with relief as the stretcher was moved in along with two medics…

"Right, on the count of 3 I'm gonna help you up, okay?" he questioned "and then I'm gonna lift you onto this stretcher with the help of a medic, got it?"

I nodded my head, signalling yes, going along with him as he helped me to my feet and then moved me onto the stretcher…

"Has the pain got any worse?" he inquired

I shook my head, signalling no…

Smiling at me warmly, my journey out of the hospital began. As I was wheeled out by two medics, my attention was drawn to the blood on my trousers. Swallowing the lump in my throat as I tried not to cry, I was aware of the daylight getting brighter and brighter…

"Ricky" I heard Brax shout

"I'm so sorry" I proclaimed as he reached me as the stretcher stopped, him engulfing me tightly

"What for?" he questioned

I swallowed and glanced down to my trousers, Brax's eyes following mine…

"It's okay" he assured me, kissing my forehead "it's okay"

"We really need to get Ricky to a city hospital" Nate informed us "get that leg seen to"

"What about Brax?" I inquired, glancing at Nate

"I think you're going to have to make your own way there" he admitted "what with the stretcher and the equipment we've got to take, there won't be enough room"

"It's okay" Brax assured me "I'll go home and get you some things and then I'll come to the hospital. It's all gonna be okay, you got that?"

I nodded my head, signalling yes…

I know you guys didn't want a miscarriage, I'm sorry…
