Naruto woke up and groaned as he sat up. He looked outside of the roots of the tree he sleeps under to see a few animals in the clearing.
He had spent what felt like two days learning how to understand the animals and he feels like he hadn't made any progress. Sure time is totally different when you are in your mind, but the fact that he couldn't use Kage Bunshin really hindered his ability to learn at the quick rate that he is used to. He was really glad he knew that jutsu now or he would have been miles behind anyone in his graduating class.
As he exited his tree the animals started to rouse.
All the animals looked at him and started to growl and yip.
"I'm sorry guys, but I still don't understand you. I need to take more lessons." Naruto told the animals as he made his way to the river close to the clearing to wash off before he met his sensei.
-Training ground 13-
Naruto entered the training ground to see his sensei there waiting for him, and she seemed confused and frustrated.
Kurenai had decided that she would get to the training ground early today. She had spent a large amount time after she left the ramen stand last night in contemplation. She wondered if Naruto was ready for a C-rank, though she quickly dubbed that he was. He is one of the best genin to ever come out of the academy and was easily ready for a low C-rank mission. The thing she contemplated the most however was her student. She wanted to get him to open up, and she felt the easiest way to do that was to go out on a mission with him so it was just the two of them.
"Hello sensei," Naruto called out as he walked towards the center of the clearing.
"Oh, hello Naruto. I am pleased to tell you that we are going to be going on our first C-rank today." Kurenai stated as she turned around to see the blonde coming towards her.
"Already? I expected to be doing more D-ranks before I started on C-ranks." Naruto was quite surprised that she was going to be taking him out on a C-rank already.
"You are much stronger than any of the other rookies and are chunin level in strength. Now you just need experience and eventually leadership roles and you will be promoted to chunin in no time." Kurenai expressed her faith in her student.
"I guess you would know whether I was ready or not, seeing as you know what the missions are like." Naruto reasoned as he started to head off towards the Hokage tower to get his mission.
Kurenai just sighed as she followed her student wondering when he might stop being so aloof around her.
-Hokage tower-
Naruto and Kurenai entered the mission room to find a chunin behind the desk handing out missions.
Kurenai sighed in relief seeing as she wouldn't have to deal with the Sarutobi and could get her mission and get out without any disturbances.
"Hello, are there any C-rank missions that we can take?" Kurenai politely asked as she walked up to the desk.
The chunin behind the desk looked up to see Kurenai and then looked behind her to see a black clad figure that everyone in the village would recognize in an instant.
The chunin smirked and looked up at Kurenai. "Finally getting rid of the demon are we? Well I have the perfect mission."
Kurenai was immediately seeing red and was about to give the chunin a dose of one of her more horrific genjutsus but was stopped by a hand on her arm.
She turned to see Naruto standing next her with a bored look on his face like being called a demon didn't affect him. She knew that he had tough skin, but being called a demon is not something that should be taken lightly.
The chunin finished fishing through the papers and turned to Kurenai and then looked at Naruto.
"Ahem, would you mind giving us humans sometime to talk?" The chunin asked Naruto, but Naruto knew that it was a threat that if he didn't leave them alone then he would come after him.
Naruto just looked at the man before turning around and walking out of the door and shutting it behind him, it wasn't like he didn't already know what he was trying to do.
"Okay now that the demon is out this mission is a simple bandit extermination mission, most of the bandits cannot use chakra but the leader is said to be a missing nin from Kumo. So just don't let the demon know that there is a shinobi amongst the group and he should be taken care of." The chunin whispered to Kurenai thinking that Naruto could be trying to eavesdrop.
Kurenai was shaking in rage about how people treated her student and just grabbed the mission papers and turned around to walk out of the room. Though, as she was about to exit, she made a discreet hand seal and heard a soft 'thump' behind her signalling that her genjutsu was a success.
When Kurenai entered the hallway she saw Naruto at the end of the hall leaning against the wall with that same bored look on his face. She quickly walked over to him and followed him when he began to leave the tower.
When Kurenai caught up to Naruto and was walking alongside him she decided to ask a question that popped up in her head.
"Why did you keep me from doing anything to that… waste of space?" Kurenai couldn't really justify calling him a person or a shinobi if that was how he acted.
"Because it's a waste of time. After being called a demon for so long it really doesn't bother me anymore, and if that is how humans act… I think I would rather be a demon." Naruto answered while continuing to walk towards the main gate. "What is our mission sensei?"
"Bandit extermination. Most of the bandits cannot use chakra, but the leader of the group is a missing nin from Kumo." Kurenai explained.
"So the chunin back there wanted you to let me handle it and to not mention the missing nin in hopes that I would be killed in combat?" Naruto asked, but he already knew the answer.
The incredulous stare he got in return confirmed his thoughts.
"You learn how people think when they are all trying to kill you." Naruto supplied knowing that she would ask how he came to that conclusion.
Kurenai just nodded her head and continued down the path to the main gate before she realized something.
"You should probably go to your place and get packed for this mission. It shouldn't take longer than a week seeing as the mission is just outside of Tanzaku Gai." Kurenai stated as she looked down at the mission papers to make sure that she had the location right.
"I'm already packed sensei." Naruto said.
Kurenai just looked at him and had her doubts. He didn't have a backpack on, and she could tell by how the black coat fit him that he didn't have a pouch on underneath it. She was about to voice her thoughts when Naruto caught her inquisitive look.
"Storage seals sensei." Naruto stated.
Kurenai felt stupid after he gave such an easy explanation. She already knew that he could use storage seals from his fight with Hana, so it only made sense that he would have more in his coat.
"Right, then let's get going and finish this mission and get back quickly." Kurenai said as they made it to the main gate.
Both Naruto and Kurenai leapt into the trees and started to make their way towards Tanzaku Gai to quickly get started on the mission.
-5 hours later Tanzaku Gai-
Both Kurenai and Naruto arrived outside the walls of Tanzaku Gai after tree hopping for a few hours at a leisurely pace, no need to tire themselves out. It was about midday right now and they decided to split up and collect information about where the gang is set up at. The mission report only told them that they were terrorizing Tanzaku Gai, not exactly where their camp was.
Naruto decided to go straight to the red light district knowing that if it was anything like Konoha's then they would have the information he would need.
Naruto soon found himself outside of a brothel and was about to enter when he was stopped by a giant bald muscled man without a shirt and wearing ripped jeans at the door.
"Sorry little man, but you are too young to be here." The man told him.
"I just need to ask the lady's a few questions about the bandits that have been hanging around here." Naruto replied cooly.
"And just what makes you think that they know anything about the bandits?" The man questioned.
"People tend to get loose-lipped when they are enjoying themselves." Naruto replied blandly like it was common knowledge.
The man seemed to think about what Naruto said for a few second before he looked back through the curtains of the brothel.
"Just stay right here and I will get one of them to come out and answer your questions" The man said before he disappeared behind the curtains.
Naruto waited for a minute before the curtains parted and the man came back out with a well endowed woman with long brown hair baby blue eyes and a purple robe on that she obviously rushed on.
"Oh, what can I help you with cutie?" The woman asked as she spotted Naruto outside the building.
"I was just wondering if you heard anything about where the bandits may be." Naruto stated.
"Oh, and how did one so young know that I would know about where these bandits are staying? Most people would go to the bar to try and get something out of the drunks." The woman asked with smile.
"I live in Konoha's red light district. Now can you please just tell me where they are so I can get rid of them and we can both get on with our jobs." Naruto was starting to get annoyed with all the talking he was having to do.
"Fine fine, they are just west of here, I heard one guy talking about following an old game trail to the west and you will just run right into it." The woman quickly supplied seeing that Naruto was getting annoyed.
"Thank you." Naruto said before he leapt onto the roofs and made his way to his sensei. Who was at a bar trying to get information from drunks.
-Local bar-
Kurenai was not having a good time. No one in the bar she was currently at knew anything about the bandits and all the men were getting a little too close for comfort. She was about to make her way out of the bar when she felt a hand grab her ass.
She whipped around ready to pummel whoever dared touch her when she came face to face with three large muscled men. They were all bald and had similar clothes on being a leather jacket and jeans. One man had a large snake tattoo going up his arm, another had a weird face tattoo, and the last man had a heart on his arm with a knife going through it. They were also all wielding large daggers.
"So you are looking for us? You know… I think you will make an excellent addition to our collection." The man with the snake tattoo said as he licked his lips.
Kurenai, although disgusted by his lustful stare, prepared to defend herself when a barstool suddenly broke over the head of the man with the snake tattoo. The man fell to the floor unconscious. She looked behind the man to see her student standing there with what remained of the stool in his outstretched hand.
The other two bandits looked back at the black clad kid that just knocked out their fellow member and were about to charge him when their vision went black.
Kurenai, not wasting their moment of inattention, quickly ran up to the two remaining bandits and knocked them both out as well.
"Very good Naruto, though now we have to wait for them to wake up to find out where they are staying." Kurenai praised her student.
"Already found out where they are sensei." Naruto stated as he started to leave the bar expecting Kurenai to follow with questions.
Kurenai hurried after her student after getting over the shock of her student finding out the location of the bandit camp so quickly.
"How did you find where they are?" Kurenai asked as she made her way next to her student and fell in step with him.
"Red light district." Naruto replied, but Kurenai could tell something was off about him.
"Naruto what's wrong?" Kurenai asked, worried for her student.
"Those men back there wanted to add you to their collection…" Naruto began.
"You don't have to worry about me Naruto I can handle myself." Kurenai felt the need to defend herself.
"It's not you I am worried for sensei. I know you can watch your back. But if they wanted to add you to their collection that means that they already have one…" Naruto finished as he quickened his pace.
The reality of the situation hit Kurenai like a pile of bricks… Why didn't she think of that earlier? Bandit groups are notorious for raping and pillaging as they move around a country. Has it really been so long since she had a mission like this that she skipped the possibility that the bandits may have innocents with them? Or was her mind elsewhere?
Kurenai quickly sped up to match the pace that Naruto was setting.
"Naruto we can't just barge into the camp like madmen. We need to come up with a strategy so that we don't get ourselves killed." Kurenai tried to calm down her blonde student.
Naruto started to slow down as he started to hear noises ahead of him. He jumped into the trees and slowly made his way forward until he came upon a clearing. What he saw would solidify his decision to destroy these pigs.
All throughout the clearing there were bandits just sitting back and relaxing, lazily keeping watch on their surrounding, or enjoying themselves with the women that they had kidnapped from the cities they have raided.
Naruto even heard some things about taking some of the finer women from the red light district.
Naruto looked at the clearing in disgust and turned away from the scene and quickly left so that he didn't have to hear the strangled moans from the women being abused.
Kurenai was worried after she saw Naruto take to the trees and head towards where she assumed the clearing where the bandits set up their camp. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Naruto come back from the trees and head back to Tanzaku Gai… She sighed again in exasperation when she had to follow him back to Tanzaku Gai.
She followed Naruto to a small clearing outside of the walls and saw him pacing in a circle.
"Naruto? Are you okay." Kurenai asked hoping to get her student to calm down.
"No. Those men" Naruto said the word man with such disdain that it nearly caused Kurenai to flinch "will suffer."
"Naruto. I know what they are doing is absolutely wrong, but we need a plan before we go in there." Kurenai reasoned.
"I know. We will attack tonight, the entire camp is set up in a circular clearing. I am going to set up traps around the perimeter to make sure no one leaves the clearing alive. We will then enter quietly and take them out quietly, once they notice that they are being attacked there will be mass panic. Our cover will be blown then, you will have to take the missing-nin while I take care of the rest of the bandits." Naruto quickly came up with a plan.
Kurenai blinked at the plan that he had laid out. Very simple and can be executed easily. There were holes in the plan, but for a plan he just made up off the top of his head it was pretty good.
"And what about the women in there? How will you make sure that you get them out safely if you are setting up traps around the clearing? What if they try to run?" Kurenai pointed out a few flaws.
"They won't run. They will be too scared during the mass panic that they will lay on the ground and wait for the action to end." Naruto assured her.
"And how do you know that?" Kurenai pushed.
"Because they are broken. They have no more fight in them. They have given up hope. If they run and are caught they will be just put back into the hell they are in, but they will be punished for trying to escape."
Kurenai couldn't really argue with that. It would be hard for those women to build up the courage to run from the bandits that have taken them for so long knowing that they would be punished if they were caught. That fear alone would make them stay put.
"So how do you know that we can sneak into the camp undetected?" Kurenai decided to point out the only other flaw she saw in the plan.
"They don't have training and will most likely be drunk, they have never had to look out for an attack before so they won't be expecting one. Once they see the dead bodies of their comrades though they will sound an alarm of some kind. So we need to take out as many as we can before that happens." Naruto stated as he unsealed some premade seals from inside his sleeves and started to look over them.
Naruto nodded when he saw that he had all the seals that he wanted and was about to head back to the bandit camp when he was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. He looked up to see Kurenai looking at him.
"Will you be able to keep yourself calm and controlled if you go back there?" Kurenai asked not wanting her student to lose his temper while setting up the traps and barge into the bandits camp.
A full minute of silence passed with both Naruto and Kurenai standing there. Kurenai almost thought that Naruto wasn't going to answer her question so she was about to reiterate it when Naruto finally spoke up.
"If I don't stay calm, then all of those women will be subjected to that torment for the rest of their lives. No one should ever have to experience that… So yes sensei, I will be able to stay calm." And with that said Naruto leapt into the trees to go set the traps and leaving his sensei standing there worrying about her students well-being.
'At least he is getting a lot of experience...' Kurenai thought sullenly as she sat down next to a tree and awaited her student. If Naruto said he was going to do something he would do it, that was one thing she could always count on when it came to her student.
-Midnight-
Naruto had set his traps and, though he was very tempted to run into the camp and kill everything he saw, he wasn't stupid enough to charge a fortified position like that as one green genin.
After he was done setting up the traps he immediately tree hopped back to the clearing that he had stopped at when he had fled the bandit camp earlier. He had found Kurenai sitting against a tree seemingly in thought and just chose to sit in a different tree surrounding the clearing. From that point on his mind was fully focused on how he was going to infiltrate the bandit camp and make those pigs suffer.
Now Naruto and Kurenai were crouching just outside of the bandit camp, hidden by the brush and trees. There were a few torches scattered throughout the bandit camp providing enough light for the men to walk around without stumbling on anything except their own feet.
"How do you plan on doing this Naruto?" Kurenai asked giving Naruto full control of the mission, not that he wasn't in complete control earlier, it was just official now.
Naruto just smirked before he made the ram hand seal.
"Eien no Yoru" Naruto whispered and suddenly the sky and darkness seemed to get even darker and all the light sources turned a blood red, even the moon was shining a brilliant shade of crimson. "Begin."
Naruto quickly and quietly snuck up behind a few bewildered drunk bandits that were confused about the change in lighting, but were too intoxicated to care much. Naruto easily ended their lives with a few quick slices from his kunai.
Naruto continued through the camp killing a few drunk bandits as he snuck through the camp, when he came upon a tent and heard sobbing coming from inside. He checked his surroundings to make sure that no one was looking before he pulled open the flap, that was the entrance of the tent, enough to see what was happening inside.
Inside the tent there was a girl who looked about 18 with long blonde hair laying naked on the ground with her face turned away from the entrance, but it was quite obvious she was the one sobbing.
Above her was a man who looked to be in about his 30's and was holding the girls arms to the ground as he used his knee to rub her womanhood.
"Oh come on baby. Just accept it and it will feel so much better." The man said as he prepared her, he removed one of his hands from her arm and took a hold of her face and forced her to look at him. "I want to see the look on your face when I take your virginity." The man sneered while the woman's sobbing only seemed to increase.
Naruto immediately took action and disappeared and reappeared behind the man his arm finishing a swing.
The head of the bandit that was about to rape the girl toppled over and blood started to spurt from his neck as the body fell limp, but before it could land on the girl Naruto grabbed it and set it aside.
The girl looked at Naruto in fear, but Naruto could also see the slight glimmer of hope in her eyes.
Naruto held up his hand to shush the girl before she could make a sound. He then crouched before the girl who curled into a ball to try and protect herself.
"Stay here if you want stay safe, okay?" Naruto told the scared girl in the most soothing voice he could muster.
The girl just nodded and continued to stare at Naruto to make sure that he didn't try to make a move on her.
After Naruto saw the girl nod he started to head towards the entrance of the tent. He drew the flap open a few inches to allow him to look out and didn't see any bandits. However, just as he was about to leave the tent a horn sounded from somewhere in the camp.
'I guess that means we have been found out.' Naruto thought dryly as he sealed his kunai back into his sleeves and unsealed his saber claws, 'no need to be stealthy anymore.'
Naruto exited the tent and immediately sought out any bandits that he could find. He quickly found a group of three bandits that were all in a combat position, though he could tell they were still drunk by the way they swayed back and forth. Naruto just threw a kunai with an exploding tag attached to it and went on his way.
He rounded the corner of a tent and came face to face with about five bandits, though these were not drunk and were all wielding katanas.
"Look! Kill that kid!" One of the bandits shouted as he charged Naruto with his blade held above his head.
Naruto nearly shook his head at the stupidity of the man, leaving yourself so open to a strike.
Naruto easily took advantage of the situation and blurred forward and cut the man from his stomach all the way up to his throat with his saber claws before jumping back so that he would be ready for the other bandits.
The other bandits watched their comrade gurgle on his blood and looked to the black clad kid that had just taken their friend down in one move.
"You bastard! We will kill you for that!" One of the bandits shouted but, unlike his friend, did not charge in with his sword raised above his head. Instead he had dropped into a decent stance, as did the other three bandits.
'They are going to take me seriously now.' Naruto observed.
'Don't hold back kit, I don't feel like dying.' Kurama warned.
'Neither do I.' Naruto replied as he braced himself for the fight.
The bandits eventually lost their patience and moved to encircle Naruto who just stood there in his stance, though he moved back slightly so he could keep three of them in his vision and would have to rely on his hearing to tell if the other attacked.
Not long after they surrounded Naruto the man directly behind him sprinted forward, trying to cleave Naruto in two with a horizontal slash.
Naruto heard the man take off and immediately spun on his heel and saw the slash coming towards him. He raised one of his saber claws and caught the blade in between one of the grooves at the front of the claws. He then saw the man to his left take off to try and stab him through his chest.
Naruto quickly spun on the balls of his feet and knocked the first assailant off balance while delivering a strong kick to the sternum of the bandit the was charging him.
'They don't have much combat training. I guess that evens the playing field' Naruto thought as he settled into his stance once again, this time with all four of his foes in front of him.
"Come on guys! It's just a kid." The bandit on the far right said as he got back into a sword stance. The others following suit.
They all stayed in that position until all four of them charged at Naruto at the same time trying to overwhelm him.
Naruto just backpedaled until he was next to a tent which he quickly entered.
"You can't hide from us boy!" A bandit yelled as all four of them charged into the tent, cutting parts of the walls off in the hurry to enter.
"Who said I was hiding?" The bandits heard from behind them. They all whipped around and were staring at the shadowed face of Naruto with two red glowing eyes staring right back at them, then they disappeared as if a wind blew them away.
Black sakura petals started to circle around the four bandits as they all got back to back.
"Kill anything that moves. Don't let him surprise us." One of the bandits told the others as they nodded.
The bandits stood there eyes darting back and forth looking for any form of movement outside of the circling black sakura petals. They made sure that nothing was going to be getting to them from the front.
"You missed a spot." A voice whispered from behind the bandits.
The bandits spun around as quickly as they could, but they were too late. Before they could even pivot they all felt a searing pain in the base of their spine and they all fell down in a heap, not able to feel their legs.
"What did you do to us!" A bandit demanded as he looked up at the hooded boy standing above him.
Naruto ignored the man in favor of unsealing an elongated kunai and holding it up to the red moonlight which glinted off the blade and gave it a very unnerving look. "Let's see how long it takes me to get you to scream for mercy." Naruto said as he looked down at the man, red eyes sparkling in sadistic glee.
The man was now sweating and looked to his comrades for help but his eyes widened at what he saw.
All three of his friends had been killed. 2 had kunai sticking out of their throats with blood slowly pooling around the base of their skulls, while the last bandit had 2 kunai stabbed into his eyes and 1 through his mouth and there was already a sizable pool of blood under him.
Torture scene begin. (Search for Torture scene end to skip)
"Don't look at them. They aren't going to help you, it's just you and me now." Naruto said as he turned the man's face back so that he was looking into his eyes. "In fact, you don't need to look at all." And with that Naruto slowly lowered his kunai to the man's eye.
The man tried to grab Naruto's arm to keep him from lowering the knife any further, but when he tried to move his arms he found them pinned to the ground.
He frantically looked to his left and right to see 2 clones of the boy on top of him holding him down.
"Can't have you resisting now, that takes away the fun." He heard the boy on top of him say and he looked back at him, eyes wide with fright. "Don't look at me like that." Naruto frowned before he jabbed the blade into the man's eye.
"AAHHH!" The man screamed to the heavens as he was stabbed in his left eye.
"Hmm… I changed my mind. I think I want you to see the rest of this." Naruto said thoughtfully as he removed the kunai from the man's eye socket. "Now what next… Maybe those lips, the lips that have ruthlessly ravaged the mouths of many innocent women, or maybe I should go straight to the crowned jewel and take what makes you a man." Naruto said as he looked down at the man with narrowed eyes brimming with hate. "Let's go with option number 2." Naruto decided as he moved down the mans body until he was right above his crotch.
"NO! NO NO NO!" The man screamed as he tried his hardest to move his arms, or any part of his body to get this crazy freak off of him.
Naruto looked back up at the man, annoyance clearly written across his face. "You are so loud… Let's fix that." His voice turned gleeful as he made his way back up the man's body and held his kunai above the man's mouth. "I'll just take that tongue now."
Naruto started to reach into the man's open mouth to grab his tongue when he quickly drew his hand back as the man chomped down, attempting to bite his assailants fingers off.
"Oh that won't do… That won't do at all… Let's just get rid of those teeth so you can't try that again." Naruto said as he held the man's head still and started to come down with his kunai, but the man was stubborn and sealed his lips shut over his teeth. "Looks like I will have to take the lips off first after all…" Naruto murmured as he stabbed his blade right about the man's upper lip.
"AAA-mmmm" The man attempted to scream only to have his mouth forced closed by Naruto's hand.
"You can't move your mouth during this or I might kill you on accident, can't have that happening yet." Naruto said as he continued to cut the lips off of the man underneath him.
When he was done cutting the lips off the man he threw them to the side and looked down at the man.
He was still conscious, which was a good thing, and his mouth was filled with blood that kept pouring in from the wounds where his lips used to be.
"Gotta finish this quickly or you will die on me before we get to the good part." Naruto said as he once again lowered his kunai into the mans mouth and started to dig into the gums. "I'm no dentist so this will hurt much more than it should."
As Naruto wrenched the front teeth from the man's mouth the man was slowly losing consciousness. He was getting light headed and couldn't understand anything of what the psycho above him was saying, the only thing he knew was the pain in his mouth, but he didn't have the energy to struggle so he just sat there and waited for it to end.
After Naruto had took out the man's front teeth, allowing him access to the bandit's tongue without the risk of being bitten, Naruto noticed that the man was no longer struggling or responding to anything that was happening to him.
Torture scene end
"You still with me?" Naruto asked as he put his fingers to the man's neck searching for a pulse, after a minute of searching he concluded the man dead. "I guess not." Naruto then stood up and started to walk towards where he heard the sounds of battle. As he was walking away he made a half ram seal and the area behind him blew up, leaving no remains of the bandits he had killed.
