A/N: Hello everyone! So, right now I'm currently on a small school break BUT I can't have my usual shout outs because I'm busy as he'll with packing preparations because I'm leaving tomorrow for Guatemala for Sunday's BTR concert! Gah! So, SO excited that I'll finally get to meet them! And I'm in 5th row! Fingers crossed that they'll throw something to the crowd so I'll get it!

Anyways, I thought I'd leave you all with this treat and it sort of gets me into Rusher mode anyway so enjoy!

To my reviewers-you're the best!

Cheers,

Franshes

Ch. 40: Big Time Back to the Set

"Be careful with those lights! I want them exactly where I've pointed to you guys, otherwise these nighttime scenes will look hideous!" Elena called out sharply to the poor crew guys who were carrying set lights around.

"Hey Elena, we're back!" Kendall told her cheerfully, while the other three smiled at her. James and Kendall were holding hands and James' ring gave off a distinct glint in the weird lighting.

"Glad to have you here," Elena told them "Now Kendall, we'll be filming the midnight slow dance that Rachel and Marco have on the roof of her hotel in Spain, I trust you have your lines memorized by now?"

"Yes ma'am," Kendall replied.

Elena gave him another smile.

"Good, then I'll need you to work with Joey, our choreographer, for a while. It's a simple type of dance- shouldn't take more than an hour for you to learn…Jo's already there with him so you might want to hurry along and join them…"

"On it," Kendall said before pecking James' lips, making the brunette smile at him "See you at lunchtime? This time the treat's on me, I found a cute little place I want to take you to…"

"Okay then," James replied, blushing lightly and smiling at his boyfriend.

"You guys," Elena said, turning to them "Will not be working on the movie today…"

"Come again?" James asked her as the three of them leaned in to hear what she had to say.

"You guys will be working on some scenes for the actual TV show today…James, Carlos, Logan, here are your lines…think you can learn them in half an hour?"

The guys briefly scanned their pages and nodded at Elena who smiled at them all.

"Beautiful," she said "James, you'll be working with Natasha so you might want to rehearse with her before you come back on set-she's over by the snack's bar…"

"I'll go find her right away," James said "So, um, this here says that I'm uh-holding m-my newborn b-baby? How's that going to work?"

"Well…" Elena said, biting her lower lip mischievously "I guess it's about time, anyway,"

Elena gestured to one of the crew members to come forward.

"James, this is Nathaniel, he's one of our computer technicians who works his magic so our program AND our movie look fantastic on-screen…" Elena said.

"Hey man, nice to meet you," James said, shaking Nathaniel's hand.

"Thanks, you too," Nathaniel replied.

"Well, Nathaniel's wife here, has a baby-a small baby-four months old and they've agreed to let us use their child for the first few scenes of you with your baby…we'll make a real casting soon, for when your kid starts to grow up and all…but for now, he's all we've got…"

"Hold on, please tell me there's not a four-month old that has been traveling with us all this time whom I haven't noticed," James said.

Elena laughed.

"Silly James, of course not, Nathaniel's wife, Mary, and his son Elliot flew to Spain yesterday, but we've been talking with both Nathaniel and Mary about this for a while now…"she said.

Just then another woman who had a kind, round face and auburn hair approached them, carrying a small blue bundle.

James' eyes were instantly glued on the small, moving bundle.

He smiled nervously at Mary who smiled back kindly at him.

"Do you want to hold him?" she asked him gently.

"I-I do," James stammered, his voice breaking "B-But I don't know how to,"

Carefully, Mary explained to him how to properly hold Elliot and then helped place Elliot in James' arms.

"Why are there blanks on James' speech?" Carlos asked, reading through that part.

"That's 'cause we haven't decided on what the baby's name will be," Elena said "We were actually hoping James could help us with that part…"

"Huh? Why me?" James asked immediately.

"Well, we asked Natasha first but she said she'd rather you do it…you know, sort of prepares you for the real thing," Elena replied.

James turned pale.

"I hope you guys are aware that I won't be wanting that real thing for a good while, right?" he said.

All of the adults laughed.

"Yes, of course James, we're just messing with you," Nathaniel said "But you could really help us with the name…."

James looked down at the small baby in his arms and smiled tenderly at him. He was a gorgeous child with light brown curls and big green eyes- it was kind of ironic that the child looked so much like a cross between him and Kendall.

"Zachary" James said smiling slightly "I like the name Zach,"
"Zach it is," Elena said "Now all of you just fill in the name Zachary in all the blanks in your scripts, learn your lines, and we should be set to film in a short while…"

(With Kendall and Jo…)

"Now, just put your left arm around her waist like this," the choreographer was saying "And hold her right hand with yours and sway…" and he did a silly twirling movement on his own.

"It's MUCH easier said than done," Kendall grumbled as he and Jo tried for what felt like the umpteenth time that day and still ended up in a clumsy, awkward tangle of limbs on the ground.

To be fair, their choreographer was as much frustrated with them as they were frustrated with him.

"This is crazy, nobody dances like this anymore anyways," Kendall muttered "Let me try something else, shall I?"

"Hey, anything's better than us falling down again," Jo agreed with him.

"Remember last-last year's prom?" Kendall asked her.

"The one where my dad almost killed us both 'cause I snuck out when I wasn't supposed to? Yeah, for sure I do!" Jo said with a laugh.

"Let's go for that slow-dance, only this time, no interruptions," Kendall said with a soft smile.

Jo nodded, smiling back at him.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and his hands encircled her waist as they slowly began swaying to the soft music, never taking their eyes off each other.

"There, that's better!" their choreographer exclaimed "Not precisely what I had in mind but…it'll have to work out,"

Kendall and Jo smiled at each other.

Kendall's heart ached for her. He still cared about her, deeply, and it hurt him to hurt her as much as it pained Jo for him to leave her time and time again.

"Did you work things out with Frankie?" Kendall asked her softly.

She nodded.

"He told me the same thing you did," she said "That I should not treat Mia as if she were my daughter, rather, as if she were my sister…"

"Told you so," Kendall said jokingly.

"What about you? Did you work things out with James?" she asked him.

He shook his head.

"Not yet. But I must, Jo, and soon…I-I hurt a friend Jo, made him think he was worthless and made him feel that he should measure himself up to me…he gave up a lot of things so I could be happy Jo, and I can't make his sacrifices be in vain…" Kendall said.

"So tell the truth to James," she said "I'm sure he'll understand…Frankie did. I told him, Kendall, it was killing me not to…but don't worry, he agreed to keep our secret for as long as you need, he said he understood…said we had an unusual sort of bond between us that would probably always be there…"

"He's probably right," Kendall said with a sigh "As it is, I'm thankful he didn't punch me for it, though he had all the right to do it…and I'll tell James the truth Jo, soon, hopefully…"

The song ended and they separated.

"I think I'm falling in love with Frankie, Kendall," Jo whispered.

Kendall's eyes widened. He'd known Frankie and Jo's relationship was going well, he just hadn't expected it to go THAT well so fast.

"Yeah, I know," he said sadly, then added "I'm in love with James, Jo,"

She smiled at him, a bit teary eyed.

"Yeah, I know," she said.

When their session with the choreographer ended and both left to change into their respective, appropriate movie outfits they both quietly said goodbye to the other.

As he turned to leave Kendall glanced back at Jo's retreating figure to find out she'd turned back to look at him too.

Their eyes locked for a few moments.

Kendall felt an inexplicable searing pain in his chest.

Jo felt the same.

As Kendall turned back to go get ready for the scenes, he realized something had happened in that moment between him and Jo.

Something had broken…

And it could not be undone…

A/N: Whew! So the Jendall drama is finally over, isn't that a relief for most of you... For those of you who like Jendall like I do, don't worry, they'll continue to be friends...but not more, because it'd be too complicated.

On the other hand, James will get to feel a bit of what it'd be like to be a dad. Oh and keep the name James chose for his fake son in mind, it'll resurface at the end of this fic. Lol. I know what I'm talking about...

So, will Kendall finally come clean with everything he's hiding? What what will happen next with Cargan? Is Frankie mad at Kendall for what happened with Jo despite what he told Jo?

Find out this and more in chapters to come!

As always, please review, if you do I promise I'll fill you in with all the details about the BTR concert, lol.

Cheers,

Franshes
