Ch.49: The Catastrophic Birthday (Part 2)

Silence.

No one spoke in the room as everyone processed what Logan had just said.

Finally, James broke the awkward silence by saying in a really small voice

"Kendall, what is he talking about?"

"I-I can explain-"Kendall said frantically but Logan beat him to it.

"He did! He did! He told me he kissed Jo and Jett saw them and so he bribed Kendall into going on a date together so Jett wouldn't tell you about the kiss but they ended up sleeping together and-" the smart boy rambled but was interrupted.

"ENOUGH!" Carlos yelled his eyes brimming with tears "Logan, what have you done? What monster have you become?"

"The one you wanted me to be!" Logan yelled and he spat at Carlos before Elena, horrified, had security guards escort a still-ranting Logan inside.

"Kendall, he's lying right?" James asked him in a pitiful voice "Please tell me he's lying..."

"I-" Kendall said in a soft voice "I can't James. I won't lie to you anymore..."

"So he was telling the truth then?!" James exclaimed.

"Y-yes but..." Kendall tried but James interrupted him, tears streaming down his face.

"But nothing!" He said "You-you cheated on me!"

"Yeah, I did..." Kendall said, his head hanging low in shame..

"W-when?" James asked him.

"'Bout a month and a half ago..." Jett said, cutting between them "The first week we were in Spain...James, it was an accident-"

"Yeah, it didn't mean anything, really," Jo piped up helpfully but James wouldn't listen to them.

"Like hell it didn't, if he found the need to lie to me about it!" James said, more tears flowing down his cheeks.

"I-I wanted to tell you, I just hadn't found the-the right time..." Kendall said "James, I'm sorry, I really am..."

"Save it," James said coldly "I don't want to hear it...here," he said, taking off his engagement ring and throwing it at Kendall's feet "Take that back, I don't want it..."

"James-" Kendall said, anguished, picking up the ring and reaching out for James but the brunette pulled his arm back from him.

"No Kendall," he said "I can't...so don't ask me to..."

"Don't do this," Kendall pleaded with him "Please baby...it's my birthday..."

"I know," James said softly "And I'm sorry, but I can't do this anymore. Kendall...we're over..."

"No James, don't leave me!" Kendall said feeling faint "I didn't leave you when you did the same thing to me!" He yelled the first thing that came to his mind, not thinking of the repercussions.

James wheeled on him.

"You'll never forgive me for that," he said, blinking back tears "You just proved it. You'll never let it go...and honestly, Kendall, I could never forgive you for this either...so...let's stop kidding around,will we? We're not meant to be..."

"James, no, don't-" Carlos tried to stop the brunette from leaving but James just glared coldly at him.

"I respected your decision of letting Logan go," he said coldly "I'm now asking you to do the same for me..."

Carlos sighed but stepped aside to let him get away.

Kendall collapsed crying...

Later that night...

"James please, let's talk about this..." Kendall said as he stood outside their room, James having locked himself inside.

"There's nothing to talk about, Kendall!" James said frustratedly from inside "We're over, now deal with it and move on!"

"We were fine this morning..." Kendall said sadly, falling back against the door.

"And now we're not anymore!" James snapped "You slept with Jett!"

"So did you!" Kendall retorted, unable to keep it back.

"Not while we were dating-mind you- not while we were engaged I did not!" James retaliated.

"I was drunk!" Kendall exclaimed "Blaming me for that is like blaming you for Logan kissing you!"

"Yes, well, I told you about that kiss, didn't I?" James said coldly "You lied to me!"

"You cheated on me with Sean!" Kendall snarked back at him

"Yeah, well, you still have feelings for Jo!" James snapped.

"You never wanted me! Carlos told me you hadn't even told your parents you were marrying me!" The blonde ranted.

"Yeah well, you never really wanted to marry me!" James said, dissolving into tears.

Silence from the other end of the door.

"You never did, did you?" James asked again, fighting back the sobs "You never wanted to marry me..."

"I-I did..." Kendall said helplessly.

"But you don't do now, do you?" James said challengingly.

Kendall sighed.

"No," he said "James, we're just too immature, too different, and we're constantly hurting one another and-"

"Exactly, so why even bother being together?" James said quietly "If all we ever do is fight, get involved with other people, and then lie to each other about it...why bother? I don't want to be stuck indefinitely on this stupid cycle Kendall...I really don't..."

"I love you," Kendall said, his voice breaking as he began to sob.

"I love you too," James said, breaking down as well "But I also hate you so much right now..."

"Fine," Kendall muttered "Our relationship was doomed anyways...toss me my things will you? I need to sleep someplace you know?"

Wordlessly James tossed Kendall's bags and stuff out the door at him.

"Happy birthday, Kendall," James murmured softly as the blonde prepared to storm off.

"What's in it to be happy about?!" Kendall snapped "NOT that you care anyways..."

And as he stormed off once more, James collapsed crying on the bed, already missing his blonde and wondering why Logan had decided to ruin today of all days for them...

With Kendall...

Kendall huffed, annoyed, as he knocked for the millionth time on Jo's door and still the actress didn't answer.

"She's not there," Dara said as she and another actress entered their room which was next to Jo's.

"Where is she?" Kendall asked exasperated.

"She said that after all of tonight's drama, she was going over to Frankie's to spend the night..." Dara said.

Kendall felt the familiar pang of jealousy toward Jo and Frankie's relationship but thanked Dara nonetheless for the information.

With hesitant steps, but aware that he had nowhere else to go to after tonight, Kendall made his way towards another, familiar, room.

Sighing, he knocked three times before the door opened.

"Need a place to crash in tonight?" Jett asked him, eyebrows raised and wearing only his boxers and a white t-shirt.

"Yeah," Kendall admitted "Would you mind if...?"

"Not at all," Jett said, opening the door all the way "Come on in, Knight, make yourself at home..."

"Thanks," Kendall said simply before making his way inside...

A/N: Uh-oh, NOW what's going to happen? Well, I'm warning you guys beforehand that next chapter will be the last chapter in this story. This is because there WILL be a sequel, like last time, because this is getting WAY too long. Now, before you all start hating on me, this WON'T be a permanent thing and yet it won't be like last time either. I hate being repetitive and I know it SEEMS exactly like Big Time Decisions ending...it won't be. In some ways...it'll be better. In some ways...it'll be worse. So don't hate me! Just wait and see!

Also, a heads up to Kett haters/fans...there WILL be a bit of Kett coming up soon...just like the Jendall...it's NOT a main pairing...but me wants to give it a try, lol. Bear with it or love it because things WILL be awesome eventually...I have big plans for this sequel!

The sequel's name will be Big Time Finale, by the way!
