"You were put through a test." Moody said, softer than Loralei thought possible. "We can go over what happened together, or I can break you both up."
"I think we can do this together." Katie looked at Loralei, who nodded. They were both still in the hospital beds, it was an hour after Loralei had awoken.
"We made you go through your worst nightmares. The worst possible thing that can happen, and it's not always what it seems. Usually people can't make it through their fifth, since they slowly get worse, you both made it passed that."
"So we passed the test?" Loralei asked.
He nodded. "Yes. You both passed the test, but before I give you your badges, we need to talk about what you saw and did. It is individual to each person. I know generally what happened, but Loralei, yours is what concerns me."
Loralei frowned. "How?"
"Because the one that you couldn't handle is more likely to happen than Katie's. Sirius Black is in training to become an Auror. He will be on the front lines as you will be. I want to tell you that if he does go down in a battle, just as you might, you need to not go after who did it. That will only get you killed."
Loralei nodded, her poker face on. "I understand."
"Do you?" Moody inquired.
Loralei nodded. "I'm very realistic. I know not all of us are going to make it through, and since I passed the test first, I am more likely to die. I think all of us understand that, and I want to make this world a better place. If not for my children, than for my nephew or my godchildren. I understand the risks."
Moody nodded, before looking at Katie. "I will give you the same warning, I know your last fear was of everyone you've ever loved dead, which is much less likely to happen, but I know the death that hurt you most was your boyfriend's. He is muggle born. He is more likely to die than a half blood or pureblood."
Katie nodded before grinning. "That's what his auror girlfriend is for."
Moody almost cracked a smile. "Get yourselves cleaned up. You will find in your lockers badges and your list of privileges." He paused. "Oh, and you can't tell anyone who has not gone through the test about what you saw. So you can't tell the class you should have been in."
"I can live with that." Katie and Loralei said in duet. They were definitely spending too much time together.

"I can't look into my past." Loralei realized as she read the fine print in the piece of paper with their privileges. "I can't find out who my parents are or where I came from." She sat down. "Why can't I just do this thing?"
Katie grinned. "You can't, but I can."
Loralei looked up. "What?"
"Christmas is in a week." Katie told her. "I'll come over and help you guys make dinner and when we get a moment we can sneak away and I can show you what I've found."
Loralei smiled, before hugging her now-partner. "Would you?"
"Of course! Isn't it normal to want to know who I am working with?" Katie joked.
Loralei pulled away, grinning like an idiot. "Well, come on then. Kates, it's time to go celebrate."

"To our new aurors!" James cried, raising his glass of firewhiskey. They were in a bar, Lily being the only one who was drinking something non-alcoholic. "I didn't know standards got so low!"
Loralei and Katie hit him on the back of the head from both sides.
"Stupid brother, I'm higher ranking than you!" Loralei told him. "I could make you run laps for that."
"You wouldn't use your powers for evil!" James said, looking between the girls.
They raised their eyebrows in a silent dare.
James took a sip of his drink before walking passed them. "Save me, wifey!"
Lily started laughing. "Nice going, James. You have the wrath of two aurors on your head." She looked at the two new aurors. "Please don't hurt him too much. My kid needs both of his parents."
"It's a boy?" Alice asked, her face brightening. She was pregnant as well, but she was still allowed to train to become an auror. She wasn't about to just drop out of the program. It may take her a little longer, but she would still be able to become an auror.
"I have a feeling." Lily winked at Loralei.
"I'm having a son too. Due in July, what about you?" Alice asked.
"Early August." Lily told her.
"Oh my god, there are two pregnant women in my life." Sirius looked at Loralei. "Shall we get a third?" He winked.
Loralei laughed. "No. I like my body how it is. I think you do too."
Sirius laughed. "That I do." He said, wrapping his arm around Loralei's waist.
"Back to the sickening couple they always were." Remus rolled his eyes.
Colin laughed, nudging Katie with his hip. "I didn't know there was someone worse than us out there."
"Get a few drinks in me and we just might be able to beat them." Katie teased.
"I wouldn't challenge them." Remus told them. "It never ends well."
Loralei laughed. "I love being sickening, mostly if James is in big-brother-protective mode."
Sirius rolled his eyes. "It never works out well for me."
"I'd never do that to Colin." Katie wrapped her arms around Colin's waist. "His face is too pretty to mark up."
