"I can't believe this happened." Sirius stated when Loralei told him what had happened with the Longbottom's. They were the only ones awake in the house. Molly and Arthur still at St. Mungo's and all the children asleep.

"I can. I saw it." Loralei whispered. It seemed like she was still in shock. Her voice was faraway, and her eyes were a bit glassed over. "I swear, I'd rather be dead than like that. I don't want to have Snow see me like that. I'd rather die a hero than survive and not have my mind." She shook her head slowly, still looking like she wasn't completely there.

Sirius embraced Loralei, his chin resting on the top of her head. "We'll make it through this."

"Now say it like you believe it."

Sirius was silent for a long moment."I can't. You know that I can't."

Loralei hid her face in Sirius' chest. "I know."

Loralei decided not to tell Molly and Arthur when they arrived home with their baby girl. They named her Ginerva, but they called her Ginny.

"Our daughters will be the best of friends." Loralei smiled. "They'll be in the same year. They'll share each other's clothes."

"They're going to be happy that they have each other in a house of mostly boys." Molly smiled. "Maybe they'll hate each other, though, like most sisters do."

"I don't think our girls will." Loralei said. "I mean, they can't be like Lily and Petunia were. Petunia was terrible to Lily."

"We'll make them be nice to each other." Molly said. "At the very least they can learn to like each other. The boys will love them both too. They already adore Snow."

"Just wait until they get older and have boys falling at their feet." Loralei said. "They're going to have six older brothers telling them not to date."

"I'd love to see how they cope with that." Molly rolled her eyes. "With mothers like us? I'd be surprised if they don't rack them."

Loralei laughed. "I'm really excited to see this happen. Like, I shouldn't be this excited."

"And with Sirius being Snow's father? I can't wait until she brings a boy home." Molly said. "You have to give me the memory after you get it."

"I plan to be eating popcorn while I watch." Loralei stated proudly.

"You're not going to help her?"

"By then she owes me a little entertainment for all the nights I haven't had any sleep." Loralei stated. "It's not going to kill her, and if she's anything like her parents, she'll put her daddy in his place."

"You're going to enjoy that, aren't you?"

"Immensely." Loralei grinned.

"I don't know if your daughter is going to be your best friend or worst enemy." Molly told her.

"I hope it's the first." Loralei said. "I'd hate to be fighting with my daughter all the time. It must get tiring."

Molly laughed. "Well, we just won't fight with our daughters together." Molly told her. "They'll be perfect little angels."

"Or that's what they'll want us think."

"Can you say, 'Dada?'" Sirius asked, holding Snow out in front of him so they were at eye-level with each other. "Come on, say, 'Dada.'" He coached seriously.

It was Halloween. The boys were upstairs, getting read stories by their father after gorging themselves on candy. Sirius, Loralei, and Snow were the last ones up.

"She's not going to repeat after you." Loralei told him. "She's not even five months. She's just noticing how we talk to each other."

"She's a fast learner." Sirius replied. "'Dada' Snow. Say, 'Dada.'"

Loralei rolled her eyes. "Give her to me. I'll show you how it's done." She took Snow from her father. "Mama." She said, her eyes brightening and her voice sounding excited. "Mama."

Snow's lips mimicked the movement her mother's did, but the sound wasn't quite right.

"Good enough for me." Loralei decided, spinning around with her daughter cradled in her arms.

"How could you get her to do that?" Sirius demanded. "I can't get her to do that!"

"You just need a mother's touch." She told him. "Or you make it sound like fun instead of a chore...she might be more into it. Babies get tone, you know."

"Isn't she supposed to be a daddy's girl?" Sirius asked, pouting as Loralei gave Snow back to him.

"Yes. I am off for bed." She kissed Sirius lightly. "It's been crazy at work lately. You can get her to bed, right?"

"Of course." He said. "Sleep well. I'll be up soon."

"Sirius wake up." Loralei said. The panic in her voice is what woke up Sirius.

"What's wrong?" He asked, still asleep.

"I think something happened to James and Lily." She told him. "We have to check it out."

Sirius could tell by her voice that something was wrong. Apparently Snow could tell too, because she started crying.

"You take care of Snow. I'll go see about James and Lily. I'm sure they're fine."

Loralei got up as Sirius started pulling on clothes to go out. She picked up her daughter, hoping for her not to wake up Ginny. She walked downstairs with her daughter, looking up to see the calendar on the wall.

October 31 1981

A/N: I'm updating on time for once! Just barely but at least I am! I know it's short but I've had a hellish week.

The next chapter will be the last (if it goes to plan). Then I will upload the sequel hopefully the week after. I just don't know.

Blue Luver5000: Sorry! I'm trying to make it as close to cannon as possible (though some things are going to change). Thank you!

.7: Yes. Poor Loralei. It's not getting much worse for her I'm afraid...

C.B. Weasley: Thank you! So do I! As I've grown up, I've slowly realized how terrible it is. Thank you!
