Chapter 14: The Bull's Charge! Reaching Pallas!
"Why?" Harbinger was puzzled. "Why would they do that?"
"Harbinger, they sacrificed their lives to open the path for us." Seiya reminded. "For the Goddess Athena and for us, the Saints left behind. Shiryu, Kiki, Fudo, I will not let your sacrifices be in vain."
"We must hurry." Saori agreed. "All we can do now is go forward."
"Damn it, everyone's so stupid." Harbinger hissed. "Throwing away their lives so easily."
"That strange Cosmo expansion I just felt." Europa grinned. "It seems the hour is nigh."
"Wait, Europa." Shun demanded.
"We can't just let him keep running." Hyoga pointed out. "There's nowhere to run, Europa." He blocked off the Pallasite's escape.
"Then I guess I'm trapped." Europa shrugged.
"It's time you told us what you're planning." Hyoga stated.
"What are you talking about?" Europa feigned ignorance.
"You pretended to run away, buying time to keep us busy." Shun related.
"So you knew?" Europa shrugged. "Well then, what should I do? But it's too late now." having distracted the two older Saints, he proceeded to flee via a portal. "His awakening is nigh."
"His?" Hyoga echoed. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't worry." Europa assured. "I've another for you to fight. Goodbye then."
"Hello, legendary Saints." Mira cut in, allowing Europa to escape. "I'm Mira. I'm done breaking Cloths to kill time. He will return soon. So now, I can fight for real."
"Is it alright to let him just rampage like that?" Cosmo Saturn wondered as the group watched Harbinger take down wave after wave of Pallasites.
"Harbinger, let me take your place." Seiya offered. "Rest for a while."
"Nah, I'm fighting because I want to." Harbinger shrugged.
"Athena." Seiya looked worriedly at his weakening Goddess.
"This proves we're close to Pallas." Saori surmised. "We've almost reached her. Let's go. This pain is nothing compared to the suffering of the innocents that have lost their lives."
"Seiya, if you want to protect Athena, you do it." Harbinger retorted and charged right back into battle.
"This Cosmo…" Seiya frowned, the group standing before another door.
"Yes, Pallas awaits beyond this door." Saori confirmed.
"We're not paying for that." Holy Jupiter muttered after Harbinger broke the door down.
"Pallas…" Saori greeted.
"Wait Harbinger!" Seiya warned, the Taurus Saint charging forward.
"I've been waiting for this, Pallas!" Harbinger declared. "If I defeat you, this all ends."
"How dare you attack the Goddess of love, Pallas-sama?" Titan blocked off the attack.
"Venus would be so pissed if she heard that." Holy Mercury mumbled.
"Sinful human…" Titan muttered. "Pay for your sin with your death." And blasted Harbinger into a wall. "Sagittarius Seiya," he greeted the last remaining Gold Saint. "You've done well to make it this far. I knew you would."
"Don't ignore me!" Harbinger burst from the rubble. "You will fight me."
"Get lost." Titan scoffed. "I'm not interested in the likes of you."
"But I'm interested in you." Harbinger shot back. "I can feel a huge Cosmo within you. You're the toughest of the Pallasites, aren't you? You attack the weak indiscriminately, eliminating any who disobeyed you. You're no different than any other villain. And you call yourself a Goddess of love? I'll make you want to fight me even more. You know what this is, right?" he revealed Athena's Kamui Cloth. "Athena's Cloth. Naturally, it's the real thing. She gave it to me herself. Even if she is the Goddess of War, without this, she has no hope of victory." Slamming an arm into a pillar, he placed the statute within the hole. "If you want it, defeat me." With that, he went on the offensive, with Titan blocking each and every blow, before he forced Harbinger back with a punch to the stomach.
"I'm done wasting my time with you." Titan snapped, drawing his holy Sword. "I'll destroy you with true power itself. With my Blade of Theogenesis. When god created this world, this Blade of Theogenesis was used. Its blade can slice anything in the world. This sword cannot be destroyed."
"Let's find out!" Harbinger snapped. "Behold the power of a raging bull! Great Horn!"
"No different than a bull in a bullfight." Titan sighed and sliced through the attack. "Before this blade, a mere bull's Cosmo is nothing. Begone!" he sliced through the Gold Cloth. "You are my sole opponent, Sagittarius Seiya."
"The battle isn't over." Cosmo Pluto remarked. "You've broken his bones and sliced through his armor, but you haven't broken his heart."
"Greatest Horn!" Harbinger released his next attack.
"Impossible." Titan was barely able to block off the attack. "Not only is he still moving after taking a strike from the Blade of Theogenesis, but he can still use an attack this strong? Why? You've nothing to protect. You lack a warrior's pride. Why do you keep fighting?"
"That's what I want to know." Harbinger shot back "Why do you take from others? Why do you use your power to oppress the weak? Why must you take the right to life away from the innocent and powerless? Why did those noble Saints have to die like that? Disobeying the gods is a sin? Is it a sin to fight for those you want to protect? Is it a sin to struggle to survive? Is it a sin to be born into this world?"
"You know, he has to be the most talkative Taurus I've ever known." Holy Mercury joked.
"This is…" Titan gaped. "This Cosmo coming from within him is shining gold. This is the golden bull."
"So your blade can cut through anything?" Harbinger retorted. "I'll use all my Cosmo to snap it in two. Great Horn!"
Holy Mercury and Cosmo Saturn's combined shields blocked off the energy wave, just as Titan fended off the resulting energy surging towards Pallas.
"Valiant Taurus, it appears I misjudged you." Titan noted. "I recant all that I said about you. It is rage that moves you. And that magma-like rage became a golden will that has destroyed my Blade Theogenesis." He added, reclaiming his shattered weapon. "Splendid."
"I'm not done." Harbinger retorted. "It'll take more than this to quell my anger."
"This is enough." Saori stopped him. "Pallas, I've come to meet you." She stated, reclaiming her Kamui. "To end this."
In response, Pallas droned on her Chronotector.
