Chapter 17: The God of Time! The Advent of Saturn!

"Foolish humans." Saturn declared. "I am the God of Time, Saturn."

"Now, show the humans your power." Europa was on his knees.

"Come forth, my Chronotector." Saturn summoned his armor.

"The ultimate Chronotector which can be worn only by Saturn-sama, master of all time-space." Europa boasted. "And your blade, the true Eternal Dance."

"Humans," Saturn stated, taking hold of his scythe-like blade. "Kneel before my power."

"That's as far as you go, Mira." Shun retorted, trapping the unranked Pallasite with his chains.

"I've never felt such a powerful Cosmo." Hyoga frowned.

"Could it be…" Mira realized. "The time has come. My master has awakened."

"Wait!" Hyoga snapped, Mira having teleported off.

"We are loyal servants of Saturn-sama." Europa declared, Mira rejoining them.

"Now, Saints, surrender while you can." Mira smirked.

"Subaru is Saturn, the God of Time?" Koga echoed.

"So you were making friends with the real enemy, even without knowing it?" Europa tsked. "How ironic."

"Humans, I order you to kneel." Saturn demanded.

"This terrifying Cosmo…" Haruto winced, Saturn blowing them away with a sweep of his power.

"Clearly, it's different from Subaru's." Yuna agreed.

"Listen well," Saturn started. "I am not human. I am ruler of the sixth planet, master of all space-time, Saturn. I only temporarily took the form of Subaru."

"Why?" Koga asked.

"To understand humanity." Saturn replied. "Humanity is a terrifying race with the power of overcome the very Gods. You disgusting humans have defeated many Gods, even Abzu. To learn the secrets of your power, I changed my form, sealed my memories and came to Earth. How could a mere Steel Saint master the Equuleus Cloth, causing it's evolution? It was because I was a God. I met you Saints, fought with you, and learned what humans are. And now I am certain. Humans aren't worthy of life. Humans hearts are fragile and ever-changing. They fight each other, repeating their mistakes again and again. If I allow them to live, they'll kill the Gods again, and befoul this beautiful planets the Gods made. Before that happens, I must destroy them."

"You don't know when to give up." Europa snorted.

"Saturn-sama, please hurry and kill these humans." Mira requested.

"You're in the way." Saturn looked at Titan. "Move."

"I shall not." Titan stood his ground.

"How foolish." Saturn scoffed. "Suffer the punishment for your disobedience." Without giving Titan a chance to attack, he blasted him off with an energy wave.

"You mustn't, Pallas." Saori pulled Pallas back.

"Goddess of love, Pallas," Saturn stated. "Can you love defeat me? Can you save those you love?"

"It's hopeless." Mira smirked.

"The Ouroboros stole your Cosmo." Europa reminded. "You don't have the power left to fight."

"Foolish," Saturn sighed. "For the one you love, you would oppose a God you cannot defeat. You allowed your emotions lead you to destruction. I can feel it… violent anger. Concern for your friends." He released his power on Koga. "And fear of the Gods. You allow those things to rule you. That is why humans are fools. Know the true power of the Gods. I shall begin my mastery of time. All humans who live on the Earth, cease your foolishness as you are frozen in time forever."

"No, if we don't stop him…" Saori gaped, realizing what Saturn intended to do when he slammed the Eternal Dance on the ground.

"Saturn, we shall stop you." The two Goddesses chorused, powering up their Cosmo. "We shall use all we have to defend Earth."

"You're in the way!" Saturn barked. "Begone!" he let loose a more powerful wave of energy.

"Sound has disappeared from the world." Koga muttered.

"I have frozen time for all humanity." Saturn declared, extracting the Star Seeds from the four depowered Senshi who had shielded Saori and Pallas.

"Well done, Saturn-sama." Mira praised. "No one can stop you now."

"This silence…" Europa grinned. "What a beautiful world. That was stupid of you four." He mocked at the vanishing bodies of the Senshi. "You cannot defeat Saturn-sama."

"You… are… too sweet…" Makoto smiled weakly at the devastated Saori.

"Be… strong…" Ami breathed. "Sorry… I… can't… protect… you… Shun… forgive… me…"

"I'll make you pay." Koga swore, Saori claiming the four Star Seeds.

"What is that?" Eden spotted the Planet Saturn on the sky.

"That is the castle of Saturn." Europa replied. "A castle for Saturn-sama to rule Earth and humanity from. Saints of Athena, let despair master you as you witness the end of human history." With that, he, Mira and Saturn ascended onto the castle in the sky.

"Humans," Saturn announced. "You continue your pointless wars, befoul this beautiful Earth, and walk the path of destruction. Such a foolish race. The Goddess Athena has fallen and her Saints have been defeated. This world will now be ruled by Saturn, God of Time. End your history quietly, within enteral silence, without pain or suffering."

"I'm sorry." Eden apologized. "I knew there was something wrong with Subaru, but I merely watched, doing nothing. I wasn't able to figure out who he really was."

"We'll have to fight Saturn, Subaru." Koga muttered. "That's the only way to save the Earth." Their resolve hardened, the Bronze Saints took off after Saturn along with Seiya.

"Europa, Mira." Titan hissed, the two Pallasites appearing before the remaining group.

"We've come to finish you off." Europa grinned.

"Athena and Pallas." Mira smirked. "This is our chance to kill both of them and utterly destroy the Senshi's Star Seeds."

"That isn't happening." Harbinger sneered.

Drawing out his circular blade, Europa tossed it at Harbinger when Shun's chain deflected the attack.

"That's enough!" Hyoga barked. "Harbinger, calm down. Strain yourself and your wounds will reopen."

"We'll fight them." Shun remarked.

"You guys are tough." Europa snorted. "This time, we will finish you."
