Chapter Fifteen
Steam and Creeps
Patricia rushed into the house, walking a bit faster upon hearing Eddie's voice behind her.
"Yacker, wait up!"
"Shit," Patricia muttered under her breath.
Running towards her room, she quickly got in and closed the door behind her.
"Ow!"
Eddie was able to wedge his foot before the door had closed.
"Shit," Patricia cursed, releasing her hold on the door. "No one told you to put your foot in, Weasel!"
"I needed to talk to you!" Eddie reasoned out.
Suddenly remembering why she had closed the door in the first place, Patricia rushed into the bathroom. Eddie noticed what she was doing and followed after her.
Despite his injury, Eddie was able to get inside the bathroom after Patricia.
"Move, Miller." Patricia gritted her teeth, frustrated that Eddie is blocking the only exit.
"Not until we talk," Eddie said seriously.
"Well, sucks for you then since my lips are sealed," Patricia crossed her arms.
Knowing that he can very well lose this argument, Eddie stepped forward and held the girl in his arms. "Well, I'm counting on that. Wouldn't want to rush ourselves."
Before Patricia could open her mouth, Eddie leaned down and crashed his lips over hers. The redhead froze but soon relaxed against the blonde and kissed him back.
It took Eddie all his self-control not to ravage the woman before him. Eddie took a step back from Patricia, giving them space and time to catch their breaths.
"Well, that was unromantic," Patricia finally broke the silence. "I never imagined that our first kiss would be in a loo."
"Wait," Eddie couldn't help the smile that blossomed on his face. "You imagined our first kiss?"
Patricia felt her cheeks warm-up. "That's not what I-"
"That's so cute, Yacker," Eddie chuckled. "For the record, I also imagined our first kiss."
With curiosity overcoming her pride, Patricia felt the need to ask. "What did you imagine then?"
Eddie gave her a small smile. "I was thinking that it would be romantic to kiss you under the stars."
"And yet here we are in one of the most unromantic places in the world," Patricia said drily.
Eddie gave a sigh and took Patricia hands in his. "Yacker, look at me. We need to talk about this."
"Isn't there any other way?"
"Patricia Williamson, we're so damn dysfunctional together," Eddie began.
"I'm so glad you noticed," Patricia rolled her eyes.
"We've been hiding so many secrets from each other," Eddie continued, ignoring Patricia's sarcastic comments. "And yet, that didn't change anything. It didn't stop me from falling for you."
"Eddie, stop-"
"No, I won't," Eddie said defiantly. "Yacker, ever since that first day in the restaurant, I knew that I would like you. You're fiery and sarcastic and spirited. At first, I knew it would be fun to mess with you-"
"Not wait a minute-" Patricia reacted violently.
"- because you react so passionately and I wanted that. I wanted passion. All my life, I've been searching for it. That's why I'm into girls that look rebellious. I wanted danger. I wanted life. I've been putting up a front that my life is interesting, that I'm fun and a jokester but really, that's exactly what I'm not and what I need in my life."
"What are you saying, Weasel?" Patricia managed to let out.
"What I'm saying is that," Eddie smiled down at her. "At first, I was enjoying making you angry at me but then I realized that I wanted you be angry at me all the time. I wanted to always see that fire in your eyes and I want it to be only for me. Hell, I was so angry when Ben talked to you tonight." His eyes darkened at the memory. "I was surprised that I didn't punch him."
"Get back to the topic, Weasel," Patricia told him, not wanting to delay the words that she was dying to hear.
"Okay, okay," Eddie chuckled. "What I'm trying to tell you for the time that we've been here in the bathroom is that I want you, Patricia Williamson. I want you and I need you in my life. You're the one that I've been looking for all my life."
Patricia froze. It's been a while since someone oh so passionately declared his feelings for her. Flashes of numerous men starting from Jerome until Eugene went before her eyes. She shuddered, remembering how each relationship ended.
"Yacker?" Eddie said nervously. "I just poured my heart out to you. Just… please say something. Anything."
"I can't." Patricia croaked out, feeling the tears pooling in her eyes.
"Anything but that," Eddie begged. "Patricia, please. Please give me a chance. Give us a chance."
"No, Eddie," Patricia said seriously. "We're both gonna get hurt in the end. It's always like that."
"How do you know that if you won't try? Please, Patricia, just give us a try," Eddie kneeled down on the floor, hugging her figure. "Patricia please."
"I'm just trying to save ourselves from hurting, Eddie."
"Then how come I'm hurting right now?" Eddie challenged her. "How come you're crying? Patricia, save both of us the trouble and say yes."
"I don't deserve you," Patricia said, pulling Eddie to his feet. "I really don't."
"Why not?" Eddie wiped the tears from her face.
"You're good and handsome and charming. You're everything I'm not."
"Good because it would be awkward if you were handsome, darling," Eddie smiled.
Patricia barked out a laugh through her tears.
"Don't you think that a good, handsome and charming man like myself deserve happiness, Patricia?"
"You do." She nodded fervently.
Eddie brushed away a lock of her from her face. "Then why are you taking it away from me?"
"You could be happy with someone else." Patricia looked down, watching her feet with interest.
Eddie tilted her face to look at him. "But I want it to be you that I'm happy with."
"You can't know that this is for forever. I don't love you and you don't love me, Eddie," Patricia tried to move away from the man but he only pulled her closer.
"Not yet. But I'm definitely falling." Eddie brushed his lips with hers. "And I'm falling hard."
Patricia
"Say yes," Eddie whispered against her mouth. "Please."
"Yes."
And it was all that Eddie needed. He closed the distance between them. Their lips met in a passionate kiss. Eddie took a tentative taste and moaned. She tasted of cherry ChapStick.
Soon their innocent kiss turned into a clashing of lips, tongues and teeth. Patricia wrapped her arms around Eddie, pulling him closer to her. Breaking their kiss, Patricia let her lips move down to his neck, giving small pecks against his skin.
Eddie froze. Something was wrong and it definitely wasn't the redhead who was pressed up against him. He felt a dark aura nearby and it bugged him. It was like in his dreams, only this time it was Patricia with him and not Brielle. "Yacker, stop."
Patricia nibbled on a sensitive spot and Eddie moaned.
"Patricia," Eddie held her shoulders, pulling her away from him. "Stop."
Patricia flushed in embarrassment. "Was it bad?"
Eddie wanted to groan in frustration. "Not at all. Actually the opposite."
Patricia grinned coyly. "So, why stop, Weasel?"
Eddie saw the fire in her eyes and groaned again. "Stop that."
"Stop what?"
"Seducing me," Eddie growled out. "I'm on the last thread of my self-control, Yacker."
Patricia turned redder. "I wasn't seducing you-"
"Shh," Eddie hushed her and pulled her closer. "Do you feel that?"
Patricia moved away from him. "Weasel, if that was some innuendo-"
"Not that," Eddie turned red. "I mean, do you feel…" he paused to find the right words. "Do you feel something dark? Or evil?"
Patricia froze. "What are you saying?"
"I don't know," Eddie rubbed the back of his neck. "I just have some kind of feeling that we're in danger."
"E-Eddie," Patricia stuttered out, pointing at the mirror by the sink. "Look!"
True enough, something was unusual about the mirror. It had hieroglyphics on it.
"What does it say?" Patricia whispered, mostly to herself.
"The time is near," Eddie blurted out.
"Since when are you an expert on hieroglyphics?" Patricia found herself asking.
"Oh, I'm not," Eddie admitted. "But it feels like someone whispered the words to me."
"Shit, Eddie," Patricia was nervous. "You're scaring me."
"I'm fucking scared myself, Yacker," Eddie told her. "You don't think that I think I'm crazy, huh?"
Patricia shook her head. "Oh, I thought I was going crazy myself during high school."
"Let's just get out of here," Eddie said, turning to face the door.
"Yeah, this house is giving me the creeps," Patricia agreed.
"Shit," Eddie cursed out loud.
"What?" Patricia grew nervous.
"I can't go near the door. It's like a forcefield," Eddie said, turning back to Patricia. "We're locked in."
"What?!" Patricia repeated. She tried going near the door as well only to freeze about half a foot from it. "Shit."
"It's a good thing though," Eddie blanched white as he heard a crash from outside. "Because whatever it is that is giving us the creeps is in the room."
Hearing another crash, Patricia silently agreed.
AN: Well, I had trouble with writing this chapter since it had a lot of different themes. So…. Enjoy? Review! J
