Chapter 21: Is Everyone Plotting?
It was now Monday again and Kagome had spend her weekend deciding on how to handle Fridays situation. She didn't want to just ignore Inuyasha, but she didn't want to really see him either. School made this hard though.
"Kagome!" And life never gives you what you want.
Turning around to the all too familiar voice, Kagome set her eyes on the disheveled hanyou. His wrinkled red v-neck shirt and dark washed jeans looked as if they had spent days balled up on the floor before quickly being thrown on. His silver hair was a mess and you could see the dark circles under his eyes as he stopped in front of her.
"Hey, can we talk about Friday?" The blue eyed girl winced at the topic, and bit her lip as she looked into his wide golden eyes. Of course the one thing she didn't want to talk about would be the first thing out of his mouth.
"Idk, Inuyasha. I want too, but I don't at the same time. What you did was uncalled for."
His ears drooped slightly as he turned his eyes toward the lockers on his right. "Oh."
She took a deep breath. "But," Kagome saw a flashof hope in his eyes as they met hers again. "I guess I'm willing to hear you out since were friends and stuff."
Inuyasha's fanged smile was contagious as a small one appeared on her face, and they began walking down the hallway to their second period.
"So," Kagome watched as the half-demon rubbed the back of his neck, and tried to find his words. "I know I wasn't 'best friend of the year' Friday, and that shit I pulled really pissed you off, but I had a good reason."
"Oh?" It was strange seeing the usually cocky Inuyasha nervous. His ears being slightly pulled back seemed cute to her.
"Yeah. Kagome, I honestly do like you, and I know I'm not the best person in the world, but seeing you with that assho-" she shot him a look and he quickly changed his words. "crazy brother mine, just irritates me. I listened to him for years saying how worthless my mother was for being human and him dogging me for being hanyou, and now all of a sudden he's calling my father about talking to the council so he can come back and be with you-"
"WHAT?!" Kagome instantly stepped in front of him with wide eyes. "He's trying to talk to the council again? He didn't tell me that? At least, I don't think. He said we could try and be together, but I thought that just meant like phone conversations and-"
Kagome was startled from her rambling as Inuyashas hands grabbed her shoulders and shook her violently. "Wench! Have you not been listening to anything I've been saying?"
Kagome frowned. "I don't care about your opinion on your brother Inuyasha. I'm sorry, but I see him differently. I spent the whole weekend talking to him, and guess what? We've worked through our differences and Sesshomaru has finally decided to have some type of relationship with me. The demon council can go screw themselves for all I care! They might have control over demon society, but not over me!"
Kagome glared up at the half-demon as his mouth hung open. "Kagome, you can't be serious? What ever 'relationship' you guys are in is wrong. He's an ass! Can't you see he's just manipulating you? You're falling into his trap!"
She gave a heavy sigh as she turned her blue eyes on Inuyasha. "If he is, then it's my fault, but I'm not going to give up the chance of finding happiness because I let somebody tell me who he is and that our relationship is wrong. I'm tired of this conversation anyway. I'll see you later."
Pulling away from him, Kagome walked down the hallway not once looking back. Inuyasha just watched her go as his fists slowly balled into fists, and his face turned into a menacing snarl.
"Don't worry Kagome. If you're too stupid to realize that bastard doesn't deserve you, then I'll make you see it. Even if neither of us can have you in the process."
Shoving his hands into his jean pockets, he slowly began making his way down the hall as he worked out a plan. 'Don't worry Kagome. I'll take care of everything.'

Touga reclined back in his chair as he gave his eldest son a pointed looked. It had been a surprise when he found Sesshomaru in his office this morning, but his announcement had to be the biggest surprise of the day. "The council will not be pleased with you defying their orders Sesshomaru, but honestly I couldn't be happier for you. I am happy you have finally found something worth protecting."
Sesshomaru raised an eye-brow at the familiar worlds he had been told so long ago before giving a nod. "Hnn, the council will be able to do nothing once Kagome and I are mated. Killing me would kill her, and they would not want the death of a human on their hands. Thus, making them irrelevant to me."
It was Touga's turn to lift a brow. "Is that so. What will happen when they show up at your door step to separate you both?"
The older dai-youkai expected his son to growl out a threat, but was taken back by the evil chuckle and grin that passed his lips. "Kagome has already figured that out. She has decided to purify them, if they are to ever cross her path."
Touga bellowed out a laugh. "Of course she would. Does she even know about your decision to mate her tonight?"
His grin made his son purse his lips. "No, I am keeping it a surprise since she thinking I am in town only on business, and father are you doubting my intended mate?"
"What a shocker it will be when you show up on her door step and whisk her away for a night of romance, and never! I just wish I could be there when those old crones piss her off." Touga twisted in his chair slightly as he saw his son stand to leave. "So what will you two do after your mating? I have a few pups I hope."
Sesshomaru turned his gaze on his father as he picked up his coat off the chair. "We will hold off on anything further until she finishes school in four months. After that, we'll move to the beach house and continue to build our life there."
A glint formed in Tougas eyes. "I'll take that as a yes. I'm not getting any younger, and I would like something to spoil my money on."
Sesshomaru snorted and began walking toward the door. Not really caring to listen to his father anymore. "Buy a dog, or get a new mate then."
His father annoyed voice was muffled by the door, but Sesshomaru chose to ignore him rather than listen to his complaints. He had a few more things to take care of to make the night perfect for his soon to be mate. Yes, tonight would be perfect and nothing would stand in his way.
A/N: I think this was more like a filler chapter. I want 25 chapters to this and I just don't see it happening unless I through this in, but chapter 25 will be the epilogue. Can you believe it's almost over? What did you guys think of this chapter? Review please!
