Chapter 22:The Theft: Part 1
Kagome couldn't quite put her finger on what she was feeling at the moment, but it had to be some where between annoyance and down right, well, actually annoyed seem pretty spot on.
"Kagome are you sure you don't want to wait and see that asshole another time?" Inuyasha pleaded for the fifth time in seventh period. Ever since she got a text from Sesshomaru in third period saying he would pick her up at five at the shrine, and she told Inuyasha about it, the half demon wouldn't stop his attempt in getting her not to go. She shouldn't have told him anything to begin with, but when he had asked her why her smile was so big, she just couldn't keep her mouth shut.
"If you haven't gotten it through your head by now Inuyasha, its a lost cause." She drawled, not even sparing him a glance as she stared at the white board blankly. Class couldn't end fast enough.
"I know, but- ugh." Inuyasha huffed as he stopped talking and slouched over his desk, surprising Kagome. She wondered if he was finally giving up on trying to convince her.
"I wish you just weren't so blind in knowing that he doesn't deserve you after everything he's done in his life." The sneer on Inuyasha's face made Kagome's chest clench painfully as she tried to ignored the hanyou.
'Five more minutes.' She thought. She was ready to leave and go home, so she could get ready. 'Soon I won't have to deal with any of this crap. I can live with Sesshomaru and start our life in peace.'
A wistful sigh escaped past her lips catching Inuyasha's attention. "What do you see in him that's so special, huh? The bastard hardly ever shows emotion, he's killed so many people, innocents, and yet you still want to be with him. Why?"
Kagome could hear the resentment in his voice, but chose to focus on his question instead making her brows furrow. What did she see in Sesshomaru? She really couldn't think of anything off the top of her head. It wasn't really something direct about him that made her care for him. It was just him in general. It just felt right to her. He felt right. But was that really something she could use to throw caution to the wind and try and make a life with him for all eternity? What about that dream?
Her eyes softened at the memory and the feelings it brought her. She desperately wanted that to be real; Her sketch book now holding many pictures of ebony and silver haired children with puppy ears and some with Sesshomaru in the mix was proof of that. At that moment she turned to Inuyasha with a decision and an answer. "Because I love him."
It was the first time she ever really admitted it out loud to someone, and she felt a rush of pride at the admittance. She felt warm inside and in that moment, Kagome knew she was making the right decision in being with Sesshomaru.
As she stared at Inuyasha's darkened features though she began to feel uneasy. A chuckle slipped past his lips, only it was anything but friendly. "Guess you've made your decision then. I just wish it didn't have to come to this."
A chill went down her spine at his words and she never felt more vulnerable in that moment making her reiki rise under her skin. Before Kagome could ask what he meant by that though, the school bell rang, and Inuyasha was out the door in a blur of silver and red.
Kagome found herself glancing around the classroom nervously at the other students who remained oblivious to her distress. After sitting there for a moment to collect herself, the young miko finally stood from her seat. She had a deep urge to have Sesshomaru by her side in that moment, but couldn't fathom why. All she knew though was that she needed to get home. Not because she wanted to have a head start to get ready anymore, but because she didn't feel as safe as she should feel. But what did she have to fear? Inuyasha? He couldn't really be a threat, could he? The thought made her bite her lip. Maybe she really did need Sesshomaru.

Kagome waited nervously at the top of the shine steps as her mother stood a few yards away sweeping around the front door. The bottom of her white dress rippled slightly as it caught on the light breeze making her pulled her small white sweater closer to her body.
"Kagome dear, you're going to catch a cold standing out here like that." Ms. Higurashi said as she looked at her stubborn daughter. It had taken the older woman a good half hour to get her daughter into the sweater as she kept refusing to look any different than when she first 'met' the man that was coming to pick her up. Kagome hadn't told her mother much about Sesshomaru, only because she didn't really know how to explain him and their relationship. That's what tonight was for. To work everything and anything out.
Hearing a car pull up to the shrine, Kagome looked down to see her silver haired taiyoukai step from the drivers side door instantly making her fears from earlier disappear. Tonight would be perfect. Everything would be perfect, and maybe, just maybe, she would end up as Mrs. Taisho.

"Damn. Late." The silver haired Inuyoukai growled to himself as he made another sharp turn. The Killing Perfection was never late. He would make sure the ignorant manager at the hotel paid dearly for making him late to pick up his mate. He wanted to give a formal introduction to Kagome's family, but it seemed that would not happen since they had dinner reservations and another tardy was not going to happen.
Pulling up to the shrine steps, Sesshomaru quickly step out of his car in a fluid motion before making his way up the shrine steps. He could hear someone at the top of the steps and as he stepped onto the shrine grounds he saw an older looking woman sweeping near Kagome's home.
Seeing him approach, Ms. Higurashi looked up and gave a small bow. "Yes, can I help you?" The Inuyoukai observed the woman in the green dress and white apron and came to the conclusion this was Kagome's mother.
Sesshomaru returned her bow before introducing himself. "Good Evening. I'm Sesshomaru Taisho and I've come to pick up Kagome."
The furrow of the older woman's brow instantly set his instincts on edge as she looked at him confused. "I'm sorry, but to my knowledge you had picked Kagome up twenty minutes ago. That was you, wasn't it?"
The woman's confusion quickly turned into worry as Sesshomaru's beast growled. Something was not right. He cleared his throat as he came up with a cover as no to worry the woman. "My apologies, but this one had forgotten he had sent a car to bring her to the restaurant we would be dinning at tonight. I am sorry if I had caused you to worry for a moment."
Her looked instantly became relieved as she looked at the tall youkai. "Oh, well it's alright I guess?" It was clear she wasn't sure what to say next before she quickly told him to not keep her daughter waiting and go meet her.
Sesshomaru gave Kagome's mother a quick bow and goodbye before briskly walking back to his car, his mind reeling. The monster inside him was demanding blood while his beast demanded to hunt and kill the person that had taken their mate. Sesshomaru made a vow to bring death to whomever had taken Kagome under his noise. He just hoped she was safe. If she was harmed in anyway, the persons death would be dragged out and severely painful.
A/N: I was tempted to leave it after Kagome's 2nd POV, but I wanted to give you guys something to ponder. Still Evil. I was determined to finish this for you guys tonight. I'm sorry for being gone so long. Honestly I would never have left this story for so long with it being so close to finished, but I just couldn't find my passion these last couple months. I had been recently going through a serve depression (worse then my teenaged drama ones) with many- dark thoughts, which had caused me to really fall behind in my last few months of school with the threat of not graduating. But in the past couple of weeks, after a break down in school, I have started to get better, and hopefully with Friday being my last day of school, I'll be able to finish this story sometime this month. Yay? I missed writing, but with so much at stake I couldn't think properly. I'm honestly suppose to be doing a Critical Analysis right now, but not doing a chapter after planing this thing out would have killed me. Hope you all liked it, and now I'm back! Thank you to everyone who is still supporting this story! :3
