Hello everyone, I'm back. Sorry for the long wait. Anyway, here's chapter 23 everybody.
Chapter 23: Trapped.
With the smile of the 'Leader' wiped away for good, and a ground war drawing near, the citizens of Acmetropolis are losing faith. Voychek learns that through special intelligence, the Estovakian military confirmed the Loonatics serving in the Acmetropolis Air Force and their leader Ace Bunny is the ace pilot known as 'Garuda 1'. Voychek seems that Ace has fallen into some kind of predicament within his own ranks and his fiercest rival, Lieutentant Commander Pasternak, is naturally worried about the possibility of Ace losing his position. Voychek then tries to line a painting unaware of his surroundings.
"Go dance with the angels!" a kid said stealing Voychek's brieficase.
After lecturing Pasternak to hold on to his luggage…Voychek feels like a darn hypocrite. Undergarments and trousers can be replaced but Voychek cannot afford to lose the contents of that briefcase. Down in a passageway, the kid runs towards a underground shelter and reached his friends, Matilda among them.
"Enemy alert! It's an Estovakian soldier!" the kid said.
"No!" another kid said.
"It's okay everyone. Don't worry, he's alone. Hold him back so he can't get out to tell the others." Matilda said.
Meanwhile, Voychek pursues the kid. He now realized that street children have turned the rotting underground passage into a hideout. He guess that explains how they eluded security forces during the sweep. Voychek finds the kids holding bats and sticks and Matilda puts the flashlight in his face. A long rubble was heard. Voychek knows what it is and he have already seen the notification. Today, in this very area where he and the children are of the 26th of March, 2774, the initial demolition for the Acmetropolis fortification construction is to be carried out. Voychek and the kids saw that the tremors have triggered a trap door, unused for thousands of years. And now—they have lost their way out of here.
