Subject: Jill
Jill had her Hazmat suit on as she descended the staircase with her equipment and made it to the chemical level. She started to put her collection tubes in a small line and rounded up the rest of her equipment for the collection process. She thought she heard a door open somewhere upstairs as she looked behind her at the staircase. "Chemicals making you paranoid already Jill?" She asked herself. She continued putting equipment together as she then heard another noise in the distance. "These chemicals really are unstable." She reassured herself. She started to carefully collect the chemicals into one tube as she put it back in a small rack. She lined up the second one for the chemical deposit as she heard a noise even louder than before, which made her jump and drop the tube. "Damn it. If somebody is there I'd like to know!" She yelled as she turned around and still saw nothing. "Great one test tube wasted." Jill said to herself in anger.
"You still have four more to use." An English voice was heard from behind her. She turned to see Drew standing there and staring at her. "Drew? What are you doing here? How long have you been here?" Jill quickly asked. "Yes to Drew, as for what I'm doing I should ask you the same, and how long, it really depends on how long you thought I was here." Drew said. "I'm collecting these chemicals to make a cure. Under your orders." Jill explained. "They weren't my orders. I don't mind that you're trying to find a cure, but it's only a matter of time before things get out of hand with these chemicals." Drew said. "What do you mean?" Jill asked.
"I'm surprised you still haven't asked how long I really have been here." Drew said. "I'm not concerned about your length of time here. What do you mean the chemicals will get out of hand?" Jill demanded. "You are going to answer my questions first. Now tell me where my old home was." Drew commanded. "You won't see it again." Jill responded. "What was my old life like?" Drew continued asking. "You have a new life, why dwell on the past?" Jill asked. "What am I?" Drew asked louder than before as the chemicals boiled and bubbled rougher than before.
"I told you that you were an experiment. You had a life before coming here, but it definitely wasn't something you should try and find again. We saved you Drew, you and Carly. We gave you the same exact virus, but both of you reacted in different ways. Carly retained her memories as well as her mortality, but her freewill was lost, and that is why she was so submissive to commands. Winston just happened to be a lucky shareholder after the fact. You lost your memories, but you became something more rebellious and destructive. We couldn't have you around, and we sent you to Bullworth. I know you are probably angry with me, and that is understandable, but you have to listen to me. The military is coming to Bullworth in a week's time; I managed to contact them and finally received a message before we hit your camp. You have to mobilize everybody back at the school and tell them they're coming. Otherwise you'll all be stuck here when the bomb goes off." Jill explained as Drew looked at her in a state of disbelief. "You're talking shit." Drew stated plainly.
"It's true. The military is on their way to the safe zone at the carnival. You can go over there if you'd like to see for yourself, the remaining military force from a month ago barricaded it to keep it safe until survivors arrived. They sent their last transmission as a final boarding call." Jill explained. "It isn't safe enough if a beast walks out of that tunnel and kills our people." Drew said in reference to the attack from before at the hands of a chainsaw wielding God. "Also what do you mean Carly retained her mortality? That means she is still able to die correct?" Drew asked. "As the events recently unfolding should have told you, yes she was, and did die. At your hands." Jill explained. "What does that make me?" Drew asked. "Something that can't be killed by just anything. You still bleed, sleep, walk, and are a human, but you can't die from any old injury. It'd have to be something serious, that host in your brain is what needs to be destroyed for you to become truly human again, and the only way is to have it done surgically, or simply you killing yourself in these chemicals. The host has already taken too much control of you, and you need to die before you get everybody killed." Jill said as Drew looked at her darkly.
"No. I can still keep myself in check. These people need a hero to look up to. Somebody they can take after. Footsteps to follow in." Drew said inching closer to Jill. "They can't follow in the footsteps of a God." Jill said as Drew stopped only inches away from Jill. "What do you mean?" Drew asked suspiciously. "You are more capable than anything. You have the power, and all you have to do is use it." Jill attempted to manipulate Drew knowing she had him on the ropes. "What kind of power?" Drew asked. "Does it matter? You have it." Jill said slowly. "Will the military be keeping track of infected? Including people remaining human?" Drew asked. Jill gave a slight look to the left as she looked back at him. "If you mean Lola, you, and Crabblesnitch can cross the line with no troubles, then yes of course. They aren't going to kill you or keep you here. They may want to separate you into a transport of your own for being that way, but that's the most they'll do on a different level." Jill said still keeping her ploy in mind.
Drew kept eyeing her facial expressions as well as body language and couldn't read anything suspicious. "Well then. I suppose that is all the questions I have for you. You've really opened my eyes Jill, and I do thank you for that. I'm glad the government took me in and saved me in whatever way they define the word. It's just unfortunate that all this research with the chemicals is wasted because of the military." Drew said. "What do you mean?" Jill asked. "Isn't it obvious? We don't have much of a need of your research anymore. It's clear that somebody already discovered the bumps in your research far before you made any special discovery about a cure. If the military really is coming, you won't be high priority to save anymore, because somebody was already successful. You turned me into a God, but maybe that was your biggest mistake. You were focused solely on creating fantasies than aiding reality. You were successful, but also a failure, and now it's time for you to make up for your sins." Drew finished explaining as he quickly grabbed Jill by the throat and held her in the air with one hand. Jill was quickly losing air as his grasp continued to choke her. "Don't… Lose yourself." Jill said.
"I didn't lose myself, I've just found what I am." Drew said as he dropped Jill on the ground and she gasped for air. "You told me yourself you'd help everybody no matter what the cost. Don't let the virus get the best of you." Jill said in a raspy voice. "I've already spared your life, consider yourself lucky. If I were you I'd keep that mouth quiet." Drew explained as he walked away. "The host has you under its complete control. I know it! You'd never do this if it weren't." Jill said. "If it really had complete control over me, you would have been burning in those chemicals." Drew corrected as he ascended the stairs. Jill quickly sent a note through a series of codes to her friend in the military. She waited for a response as she packed her equipment quickly and ascended the stairs.
Subject: Zoe Taylor
The group finally found its way to the chemical plant after surviving all that had been thrown at them. Zombies tried to eat them, wasps tried to sting them, and they made it through receiving almost no damage, save for Bif's broken leg, which Christy took care of quickly. Zoe led the pack with Carlos by her side, Pete watching another angle, Crabblesnitch guarding the back, and Christy helping Bif along. Christy had gotten noticeably stronger and more agile over the past months, and many people took notice of it. Zoe kept leading the group along with her 12-gauge and brought them to the outside of the plant. "Is that a Harley?" Carlos asked as he looked over a motorcycle sitting outside the plant. "Check to see if it's functional, I'll cover you." Zoe said as Carlos ran over to it and looked it over. "Fucking clean man. You ever ride a motorcycle Bif?" Carlos asked. "No I never rode those pieces of garbage in my life." Bif said rudely. "Missing out on freedom. If you can you can probably take it back to the school." Carlos explained.
"I wouldn't recommend it. Get off my damn handlebars." Drew said as he emerged through the plant entrance. "Drew? What were you doing here? Everybody's looking for you." Zoe asked. "I'd ask you the same thing, but apparently you were foolish enough to send our finest out to find me." Drew said as he waved Carlos away from his bike. "Dude what's your problem? You've really been a drag lately." Zoe asked as Drew got on his bike. "My problem is the fact any of you would send a search party for me. I'm your leader, you could at least act like I am capable of handling myself." Drew said darkly as he started his engine. "Hey man you okay? You're looking a little pale." Carlos said from the spot next to the bike. Drew looked up at Carlos with a sneer and revved the engine.
"Never better. Get back to the school. Tell everybody that there is a military transport coming in less than a week and I want everybody prepared to leave when I say." Drew said. "There's military coming?" Zoe asked with some spark of hope. "They'll arrive at the carnival. Just have everybody ready to leave." Drew said as he rode off in the direction of New Coventry. Zoe stayed with the other group members with an excitement in her eyes she couldn't shake. "The military?" Bif asked. "Yeah. We gotta get back to the school quick." Zoe said. The group shuffled quickly and started to make its way back to the school through the passageway near the asylum and found the school had come under siege once again. They made their way to the football field and caught sight of multiple different attackers, this time with full force. Zombies had found their way through different means, wasps were swarming in their largest groups to date, and as the group continued through the gymnasium area they realized the group from before had come back to destroy anything left of the academy. "What the hell is going on?" Bif asked. "It's pretty obvious isn't it?" Zoe said as she struck down a burly zombie. "Come on we've got to get to the main building!" Zoe yelled as the others followed as fast as they could.
Zoe quickly made her way through the intersection and hopped over the ledge and gunning down three of the opposing militia. "Hurry up!" Zoe yelled. "We're trying!" Bif yelled back. Zoe saw the militia was burning down the library as she saw others from their group getting gunned down as they ran out of the building. She caught sight of the leader of the militia, Winston, and proceeded to run after him through the hordes of undead. She got within arms length of Winston before he realized she was there and Zoe tackled him to the ground and repeatedly socked him in his jaw. "You bastard! You agreed to surrender!" Zoe yelled. "I never agreed to anything bitch! I said I would be back!" Winston yelled as he butted Zoe back and pulled out a knife.
"I'm going to enjoy cutting your tongue out!" Winston said as he proceeded to kill Zoe, and she only held his arm just enough to keep him from going all the way down. As she held it she struck him in the groin and he keeled over in pain. She took the knife from him and cut into his side as he yelled in pain and anger. He let out a powerful punch in Zoe's gut that sent her to the ground groaning in pain. Winston got his knife back as he wiped the blood from his lip and side and licked it. "I like it when they fight back." Winston said as he got down on one knee and stabbed Zoe in her stomach as she felt blood swarm up. "That's right. Feel it. Feel the failure of the school." Winston said with death in his eyes. "Jimmy!" Zoe yelled. "That's right! Cry for lover boy! You haven't got a hope in the world though!" Winston yelled. "James!" Zoe yelled as Winston kept digging into her stomach. "He's gone. You might as well just give it up!" Winston yelled.
Out of the darkening world around Zoe a gunshot was heard in the air as it went straight through Winston's head taking chunks of brain matter and blood with it. "Zoe!" A voice was heard through the crowd of fighters. Christy was already over Zoe and trying to keep her awake as James quickly dropped next to Zoe holding her hand. "Took you long enough." Zoe said slowly. "We got to fix her up now. Get her up!" Jimmy said as he and Christy lifted Zoe up to walk her away from the battle. "Pete! Cover us!" Jimmy yelled. "You got it." Pete yelled as the voice faded away from Zoe. "Stay with me." Jimmy said. Zoe kept forcing her eyes open as two close companions were carrying her along. She looked up for a brief moment to see what was going on around her, and all she saw was utter chaos.
Bullworth; was now an official battleground for anybody willing to step forward. She saw members of the militia carried away by wasps, zombies tearing away at long gone people, and the familiar faces of her townie friends now being executed brutally by a combination of the warring enemies. Edgar the only one being able to walk away from the fray as Zoe only held on to that bit of hope that she, Edgar, and Jimmy would be okay. She let her head drop again as she saw her boots scraping along the pavement now as her legs finally gave in to the pain. "Up the stairs!" Jimmy yelled. As soon as they reached the top of the stairs an explosion went off close to them that knocked all three of them to the ground. Jimmy by Zoe's side and completely knocked out, Christy on the other side struggling to move, and Pete trying his best to keep the enemy forces at bay along with a few other school members. "Let's get them inside!" Pete yelled.
Bif, Crabblesnitch, and Lola all picked up one fallen comrade and started dragging them inside, Lola grabbing Christy, Crabblesnitch grabbing Jimmy, and Bif getting Zoe. Bif let Lola in first, and had Jimmy dragged in next before he tried bringing Zoe in. Zoe now fading deeper into darkness could only see Edgar firing more rounds into the approaching crowd. Pete and many others retreated behind the friendly lines. As Zoe kept fading she soon realized she wasn't moving anymore and she looked up to see Bif was shot down and she looked back to Edgar and saw him get sprayed with a flurry of bullets. "Edgar." She only breathed out. She saw the familiar face of a long lost ally emerge from the stairs as he came to with a number of others behind him.
He saw another zombie squirming next to him as he shot a bullet into its head. The familiar graceful blonde mane he used to have now was a roughened up scruff of hair. "Derby?" Zoe couldn't comprehend it. She thought he was dead from what Carlos had said. "In the flesh my cherry haired whore." Derby's voice had gone from a faux Riche accent, to a roughened, raspy, soldier of war voice. Zoe couldn't defend herself from whatever was next seeing as her so-called "allies" had other plans to save their other friends. "I'm going to kill you!" Ricky's little sister said as she charged to the former prep and he just held her in place and smiled a wicked smile. He smacked the little greaser girl to the ground as she stayed in place rubbing her cheek. "Wouldn't want to leave another little stain around my property now would we?" Derby asked as he prepared a gun and aimed at the girl's head.
"Sir. We can't kill her. She's just a little girl." One of Derby's new henchmen tried talking him out of it as Derby turned in place to face him. "Little or not, she is a nuisance, and must be put down." Derby explained. "Shoot me Harrington. I fucking dare you." Zoe said through her bloody mouth. Derby looked over to Zoe and smiled an evil smile as he walked over to her and pointed the gun directly into her temple. "I've got better plans for you." Derby said as he picked Zoe up from the ground. "Take her and the little one for collateral." Derby said as he pushed Zoe into the two guards. "Move out men. Our message is loud and clear." Derby yelled as Zoe was being carried into an armored van and thrown in along with Ricky's little sister. Zoe only had enough strength to stay up on one arm as she looked at the little greaser.
"What's your name?" Zoe asked her. "Katie." The little greaser said. "That was very brave of you, but I could have handled it myself." Zoe said. Katie just stared at Zoe bleeding out and looked down. "Where are they taking us?" Katie asked. "Back to the asshole camp if I had to guess." Zoe said regaining a bit of strength. "How come nobody ever sees you around much?" Zoe asked. "I don't like people. I guess I have better reason not to now." Katie said as Zoe cracked a smile. "Where was Drew? Didn't he say he would always be there to help us?" Katie asked innocently. "If he did I never heard him say it." Zoe said.
"I do. I know I am probably a little too young, and Johnny says I am outright crazy for saying it, but I think I like him." Katie said as Zoe inched over to the little girl. "Why are you telling me this?" Zoe asked. Katie looked at her with puppy eyes and sighed. "Because he loves me too. Not in that kind of way, but more of a little sister type." Katie explained. Zoe just chuckled weakly at the thought of Drew wanting to spend time with anybody younger than him. She only knew him for a couple months, but she never could have pegged him as being good with kids. Especially recently. "How long ago did he tell you this?" Zoe asked. "He tells me everyday. He tells all the surviving kids that. I don't really consider myself one of the kids, I am fourteen you know, but I am in his mind. I guess I don't have much of a problem with it if it's him saying it." Katie explained. "Why just him? Why not the other greasers, or anybody else?" Zoe asked.
"I'm comfortable with him. Sure he's been scary lately, and acting strange, but I know there's something still inside him. Even with everything happening to him, I know there's something good in him. I just know it." Katie said as her eyes started watering. "It's okay." Zoe said as she brought Katie to cry on her shoulder and tried relaxing her. "You're right. It will be okay. I promise." Zoe said as Katie continued bawling.
