Chapter 35-His Face
Bracing themselves against the violence, the two women quickly grab each other by their upper arms, helping to steady one another as the Earth shook in disorder. When the shaking became unbearable to stand their ground, the two were forced to slide down with their back against the hedge wall.
The short shrubs before them were shaken right out of their roots; some of the taller ones were forcefully bent, crackling chips of wood as their tops toppled off, or where met with split ends still clinging lamely to their body. As for the flowers, they were either crushed by the fallen woods, or were tarnished by the disturbed soil. Petals were flinging in every direction.
The shaking lasted longer than the first one Rapunzel and Elsa experienced. Nevertheless, they successfully waited out the shake, but feared what was expected to come.
"They're attacking now?!" said Elsa, looking in the direction of the sun. "But it's in the middle of the day!"
"Then this means it's going to be a difficult battle," said Rapunzel. "Come on, we don't have time to waste." Standing up, Rapunzel slammed the hedge door open and rushed through, followed by Elsa. They ran together part way, but once out of the garden, Rapunzel made to retrieve her rucksack and Elsa ran into Commander Gorm shortly after.
"Where is it?" Elsa asked roughly, as she huffs in air to catch her breath. "Where's the Hole?"
"I don't know," he said through gritted teeth. Gorm kept his eyes focus upon his surroundings. Fearing the Fearlings may make a closer appearance to his Queen then thought. "Where's Bellflower? Where's Hiccup?—"
"Commander!" called a soldier in the distance. "Sir, some of the men spotted the Hole opening just outside of town, close to the forest."
"Right. I want every soldier suit-up and prepare for battle; have those who are garnished with the new armors station up front, save the archers, scatter them throughout the army. Now Go!"
The soldier took off to deliver his Commander's orders. Meanwhile, Elsa and Gorm made their way to the stable, where they met both Kristoff and Anna already mounted on their horses. The four of them rode off together taking the quickest route leading out of town. Their ride was slightly slowed down by the stream of foot soldiers trying to make their way to the Hole.
Arriving at the Hole, the four humans were disturbed just from looking at it. The Hole was considerably larger than the last one, and vapor black mist was already leaking out from it, but there were no Fearlings yet.
Just as they dismounted their horse, the foot soldiers behind them parted ways, allowing their Golden brothers to pass through. Following as Commander Gorm instructed, the Golden Soldiers took their position up front. They circled around the Hole forming a large ring; most of them carried thick shields reaching lengths from their heads to knee, and formed a sort of blockade between the Hole and the others.
The archers followed in soon after. There were more of them then the foot soldiers, but a good many of them was garnished with the new armor, and Elsa could only assume the reason as to why Hiccup would make more for them than the others. The design between the foot soldiers and archers were different. The archers' were dressed thinly; they look like they only have on leathery protections, not as heavily padded as their counter parts, but that could possibly mean that the archers armors were quick and easier to make.
Nevertheless, Gorm's earlier complaint hold true. It took less than twenty seconds for all the Golden Soldiers and Archers to gather. Elsa could only imagine them looking like pretty little dots among a sea of dented silver. And yet, Elsa was impressed with the number of armors that Hiccup did manage to finish.
There was loud noise that interrupted Elsa's thought. It was a whistling sound from the air behind her. She turns her head just in time to see Toothless make his landing, along with Hiccup and Rapunzel on his back. The two Spirits dismounted and rushed over towards the group.
"Good timing Spirts," said Commander Gorm. "Much better than your other two friends, Haven't they return yet?"
"No," Rapunzel replied, "But they should be on their way."
"Well they better be," said Commander Atlas, coming up from behind. "We need all of you more than ever." Atlas positioned himself right by Gorm's left side. And in a loud voice, he spoke to his men, he spoke to the Arendelle men, he spoke to all the soldiers. "Today is another battle against fear, and fear isn't alien to you. Fear comes in many forms but nevertheless it stifles your actions and it discord your thinking. But you all know what you must do; stand your ground and hold fast to your weapons!
"Do not fear what will happen if you were to lose, but hate the possible future! Hate a future filled with nothing but fear! Hate the possible future of your wives, your children, your elders and friends, being supplements to the monster call Pitch, along with being subjects, to the traitor Hans!"
The men animated as their moral flew. In reaction to their gained strength, the Golden Armors began to glow, twinkling like stars in distance night. Many noticed the glow, and their moral only grew from it, confident that the armors are indeed already having an effect on them.
"Oh what an inspiring little rally Commander Atlas," a voice mocked. Everyone focused their attention back towards the Hole. Rising out of it on a haze of dust, was none other than Hans with a mass of Nightmares and Fearlings.
"Darn, the shiner's gone," Rapunzel whispered to Hiccup. By shiner, Elsa assumed her cousin was referring to a bruise or some sort that she had given him with her frying pan. The thought never occurred to Elsa that Hans could be scratch, not with a frying pan at least.
"So, you finally decided to show yourself once more," said Atlas. "And here I thought you were too embarrassed of your first lost to show."
Elsa couldn't quite place where she'd seen the expression before, but the look on Hans' face was irregular, and yet it was suitable for what he'd become and continues to turn in to. His eyes marginally narrowed, and he pulled the corners of his lips far back in kind, smiling in decorum at the Commander. The rims, Hans parted them just enough to reveal his teeth in which Elsa noted them as, pointed sharp.
"Careful Commander Atlas," Hans warn. "Those are quite unkindly words spoken in a quite disrespectful manner. As I recall, I am your Prince, and soon to be King."
"Well as I recall," Atlas start. "I've never served a King, or a Prince. And I never will. Who is a traitor, and a coward, and who can't use his own strength to win his place on a throne!"
Hans chuckled and shook his head. When Hans was done laughing, he sneered at Atlas. And then he said to him, "Good night Commander." The two armies clash.
XxXxXx
There were a few things Elsa could recall while her mind was focus on fighting: the beginning of the battle, being separated from Anna and Kristoff, and the occasional glimpse she took at Rapunzel and Hiccup.
The pair of Spirits traded off between fighting Hans and defending the soldiers. But it was mainly Hiccup and Toothless who would fight Hans and his stead, seeing how the two could fight in the sky. For the first time Elsa saw why Hiccup highly prized his creation with the silver shield more so than his Inferno Blade. Hiccup's shield was both a defensive weapon as well as aggressive. It could be used as a disk to hit distance opponents, and it would return to its owner after it has been thrown; the shield could be shift into a crossbow; it could shoot a net from the center of its boss, or have it become a grapnel. Elsa could only imagine what other utility the shield may have.
Meanwhile, Rapunzel continued to use her violin, and this time, it had a more desirable affect. Her music couldn't reach everyone as wanted, but the majority, especially the Golden Soldiers, gained tremendous strength from its affect. Elsa couldn't help but admire her cousin. It was like when she first witnessed Rapunzel playing her music during the attack on the evacuating citizens; her cousin was once more orchestrating a grand concert. This time, with more flare and dramatic theatrics, playing out a grand visual story that was much more glorious and heroic…Even though in reality, Elsa knew, there was nothing glorious or heroic about death.
She won't say anything about it for now, but let the colorful lenses of magic take her mind away from truth and help her forward in her current battle. She hopes to get the chance to talk about it later on with Jack…
"Curse it all!" said Commander Atlas. He swung his sword forward cutting through a charging Nightmare, and then leaped to the left, dodging an oncoming Fearling. However, he lost his footing on the land and stumbled backward, hitting his back against Gorm's. The Arendelle Commander was able to brace Atlas' weight, and pushed him just enough to help the man regain his ground.
Elsa wasn't near them. She blasted a small pack of Fearlings coming at the Commanders from the sky; freezing them in a block before shattered them into glitters of ice. Elsa joins the men with her own back against theirs.
"Curse it all," Atlas repeated, "Where are those other Spirits?! They should've been here long ago!"
"Could something have happen to them?" pose Gorm.
"Possibly," said Elsa, remembering their last known location. But another thought occurred to her; if something did happen to Jack and Merida, shouldn't Rapunzel and Hiccup have felt the change? Or better yet, Anna and herself through their Pact?"
Elsa heard a growl but it was too late, for she was caught off-guard. A Nightmare shaped like a wolf lunge for her, bearing it's fangs for her flesh. All Elsa could do was raise her arms up to shield her face. The wolf was inches away from sinking into her flesh when Gorm thrust his shield out, pushing his queen down and knocking the animal away. Reacting quickly, Atlas charged at the wolf and managed to slice its head off.
"Your Majesty," said Gorm worriedly, as he helps her up. "Are you all right?"
"I'm fine," Elsa replied, "and thank-you. You saved me." It had looked as though Gorm wanted to say something else, but a soldier to the side shouted, warning him about a Fearling coming from behind. Gorm turned around just in time to fend off the Being's attack, but was left to continue fighting it, as the Being strikes shows no signs of stopping.
Jack, Merida, where are you? Elsa asks mentally.
In the distance, Elsa thought she was hearing hooves clomping rapidly, but immediately changed her mind. She thought to herself, who would be foolish enough to ride a horse in such a battle? They're too easily spooked by the Beings to be kept under control. The war horses were better than regular ones, but neither allies have that many of them, and they still proved to be frighten against the Beings.
Elsa thought it was all in her head, but the hooves sound only grew louder, until finally, the animal came into view. It was no horse; it was Sven, with Lukas on his back. Spotting Elsa and the Commanders, Lukas had Sven take him to them.
"Prince Lukas, what are you doing here?" Atlas asks, as he rushed over to his Prince's side.
"I was hoping to get some reinforcements," said Lukas as he fixes his lens. Despite having had rode a reindeer all the way down, Lukas was painting as heavily as Sven. His clothes were soaked in dirt, sweat dabbed around his face and neck, and it looked as though his right wrist was hurting. "But it looks like you could use all the help as well."
"Reinforcements?—what has happen at the Safe Camp?!" Elsa assumes.
"Nothing yet; a Hole appeared nearby and a battle broke out. Bellflower's charms are still working though, the Nightmares and Fearings haven't figured out exactly where the Safe Camp is, but they're getting close. And I'm guessing they'll keep fighting until they find the camp."
Elsa was at a loss for words and action. She and the others had known the discovery of the Safe Camp was a possibility, so they've done all they could to make it safe and concealed from their enemies as possible. Yet to have it turn into a battlefield, another possibility they'd considered, but knew they could never succeed in saving the whole camp if it does come under attack.
Waves of fear, conflicts, and guilt of irresponsibility started beating within Elsa. She blamed herself for not better preparing the camp against possible attacks, and for being powerless in preventing an attack in general. "The Golden Armors," Elsa said in a daze, "The Golden Soldiers…call them—some of them, we need a few of them to head towards Safe Camp right away!"
"Yes Your Majesty." Gorm quickly ran off and grabs the nearest Golden Soldiers he could get his hand on. Giving them a brief explanation and their order the second he got their attention.
"The Spirits, the other two hasn't come back yet" said Atlas, assessing their situation quickly. "It'll be a disaster but take Bellflower with you Prince Lukas. We just have to make do without her until otherwise."
"No," said Lukas. "Jack and Merida are already with us."
"—They are?!"
"Yes, but we need more soldiers. Too many of the men up there are injured and they can't continue fighting."
Gorm soon retuned with the Golden Soldiers: seven foot soldiers and ten archers to follow Lukas back to the camp. "Forgive me Your Majesty," he said to Elsa, and looked apologetic towards Lukas, "but we are limited in the number of men we could spare."
"That is fine Gorm," Elsa said swiftly, before making her way over to Sven and summoning ice beneath herself to level up to him. "Lukas move back a little. If I ride behind you, I'll fall."
Gorm quickly moved over to stand by Sven side. "—Your Majesty, what—"
"I'm going with Lukas up to the Safe Camp," Elsa said firmly. "You and Commander Alas can command this battle fine without me. And with Bellflower's magic, she's powering both the regular and Golden Soldiers well beyond their normal capability."
"But Queen Elsa, it's too dangerous to go up there—"
"Commander, I know my life is important for the survival and future of the Arendelle Kingdom, but just as a Kingdom cannot function without a ruler, it cannot exist without its people."
With that, Elsa seated herself side-saddle in front of Lukas, and took hold of Sven antlers for stability. Not sure what else to do, Lukas automatically wrap an arm around her waist, while using the other to hold onto Sven antlers. That way, he could keep her steady so then she wouldn't full off during the ride."
"Your Majesty wait!" But Elsa didn't listen. She told Sven to head back towards the Safe Camp, and he obeyed. The reindeer took off as fast as he could while avoiding clashing into fights and the Dark Beings. The selected soldiers were hot in following their tail.
XxXxXx
Navigating through the battle field wasn't an easy task; there were many times when the reindeer was forced to stop suddenly and change his direction, but Sven managed to get them through safely without assistance steering from Elsa or Lukas. The selected soldiers were lagging behind, but none of the men fell beyond Elsa's sight whenever she looks back to check on them. Once they left the entrance of the town, Sven was able to run at full speed towards their destination.
The Safe Camp was still some miles away, but through the densely trees, Elsa could tell that the battle was indeed near the camp by looking up towards the sky. The Fearlings and Nightmares were spiraling into the heaven, forcing the clouds and winds to cry in sharp shrieks with them, as they shaded day into night. Their formation reminded Elsa of a willow tree that's leafless. They were spiraling up first from the Hale before branching out and stringing down. So bare, so sickly a tree-like Elsa has ever seen. The proper term Elsa could think to describe it, was dead.
Instead of heading directly to the Safe Camp, Lukas had Sven take them as close towards the battle as possible, before sending the reindeer back to camp. Upon nearing the battlefield, Elsa started hearing the shouts of soldiers, and saw flashes of lights in shades of red scattered throughout the trees. Not knowing what else to do, Elsa decided to follow the red flashes in hopes to meet with Merida. Lukas followed closely to her, pulling out his own sword with his good hand, while with the injured one, he did his best to hold tightly onto the straps of his satchel.
The selected Golden Soldiers soon caught up to Elsa and Lukas, but were quickly ordered to leave the two and engage in battle against their enemies, while saving as many of their brothers and allies as possible.
It took some time for them to find Merida, but by chance, Lukas spotted her riding Angas as she was fighting a group of Nightmares of wild dogs. To help her, Elsa formed a wall of ice with one side filled with spikes, and the other she left smooth. The wall not only blocked off the chasing Nightmares, but for the beasts that didn't make it before the wall was formed, ran straight into the spikes destroying themselves. Meanwhile, those who made it through were easily picked off by Merida.
Elsa and Lukas didn't wait for the spirit to finish her fight before they made their way to her. "Lukas, you're back rather early," said Merida, sounding disappointed. She quickly drew three arrows and fired them all at once, eliminating the remaining Nightmare dogs. "I hope Snow Queen isn't all the backup you brought with you—no offense there Elsa."
"None taken," she replied.
"No, Elsa wasn't the only one," said Lukas. "But there wasn't that many soldiers I could take with me. The battle in town is just as bad as it is up here."
"Then how many soldiers were you able to bring?"
"Seventeen: seven foot soldiers and ten archers, all wearing the Golden Armors."
The corner of Merida's lips twitch and she smirk. "Well, better than nothing I suppose. They'll help with the Nightmares and Fearlings, but with their current number, they'll be easy pickings for Pitch."
"Pitch—The Nightmare King, is here?!" Elsa asks.
Merida looked at Elsa in surprise and chuckled a bit. "I guess this wheep here didn't tell you."
"Whether we're facing Pitch or Hans, or just their minions doesn't matter. I was more focuses on getting the man power we needed."
"Well you didn't quite get it did ya?" said Merida, turning Angus in the direction of the camp. "And it does matter who we're facing. Your brother may have Pitch's powers, but his control of them and the minions are armature. Facing Pitch is a whole other level. Go towards the camp, there will be more fights there to enjoy. And if you see your Golden Soldiers, tell them to stay away from Pitch. Leave that devil to me and Jack to fight."
"Merida," Elsa start, "where is Jack?"
"Him? That tod is already fighting Pitch." With that, she and Angas took off towards another fight, leaving Elsa and Lukas to follow.
Just like the battle down in town, Elsa lost track of the number of opponents she faced, and the number of fights she's been in. She only remembers the glimpse she took towards her men, Lukas, and Merida. The only other thing that Elsa was aware of was her soldiers being pushed back. Whether the dark minions knew it or not, but they were pushing everyone back towards the Safe Camp. All the Golden Soldiers were able to do was prolong the inevitable.
"Not good," Merida said suddenly, backing up to be beside Elsa.
"What now?" Elsa asked, with exhaustion and fatigue tarring at her body and mind.
"Losing tack of time in a battle like this is dangerous Snow Queen. Take a look at the horizon over there. The sky is starting to lose its blue. It's turning a dark red with dim gold. We may not be able to see the sun because of the trees, but that means the sun is setting."
"And that means Pitch and Hans' army will get stronger."
"Yep. Too bad for us, this battle isn't going to end anytime soon. Or better yet, it will end soon, badly though."
Elsa gritted her teeth as she shoots another bolt of ice at a Nightmare. What are we going to do? She asks herself.
Out of the sky Elsa heard a thundering of needles falling against glass. She looks directly up and saw bolts of frosts surging through the air. She could tell that Jack was there, but could barely make out his form. Close by, there was something else there.
It all happened in an instant. So quick, that Elsa couldn't tell what had happen. But suddenly Jack was, falling, tossed out from the sky plummeting down towards earth. Jack was coming in at an angle where he would first crash into the tree tops, and then the body of the trees before hitting the ground.
Attempting to minimize his damages, Elsa covered the distant ground with multiple layers of snow up to ten feet tall. Jack must have had the same thought as Elsa, for once the trees were seconds away, Jack shot at several of them, packing them in tight with heavy snow until they look like puffs of cotton.
On impact the snow scatted in a frenzy covering Jack from view. The only thing Elsa could make out were the sounds of woods violently breaking, and the grunts and shouts Jack lets out upon each hit, until final there was no more to be herd.
Elsa didn't wait for the snow to settled, but dissolved them as she ran straight into its mass. "Jack!" she called. "Jack!" But he didn't reply. Instead, a path cleared for her without her doing, leading to where Jack was. Once he was in view again, Elsa ran to him and knelt beside him. Jack was bruised underneath his right eye and on his left cheek. However, what concerned her more so then the bruises were the black sands attached to Jack. There are patches of them all over his clothes, and smaller ones near his bruises along on exposed skin. What's worse was that the patches appeared alive. Moving. It was as if they wanted to engulf Jack but were too small to do so by themselves.
Lifting a hand Elsa made to brush the black sands off, but Jack stopped her. "No good Snow Queen," he said with a weak smile. "They'll have to go away on their own."
"But Jack—"
"Or they won't go away at all," said a man's voice.
Elsa turned around but didn't find anyone there. The soldiers are too far way, and they were too preoccupied with their fighting to take the time to even look in her direction. Readying herself, Elsa stood up while keeping her back towards Jack. "Who's there?" Elsa demanded, but no one answered. "Show yourself!"
"With pleasure Your Majesty." Following the voice, Elsa turned herself once more to finally see who the man is. Or better yet, the Being. From the darkest shadow casted by the trees, he walks out from it with tall strides, his long jet, raven robe trailing behind him, and his arms were tuck behind his back. He was nothing but black and grey. He had a very slim figure but his body overall was firm, and his hair was pulled back in slick pointed ends. Over everything, what drew Elsa the most was his face. The way he holds his smile was business like, as if he had something amusing to offer to those he smiled to. And his eyes, they were a reflection of light gold, shimmering with silver.
In most ordinary situations, Elsa would think the person before her was deeply ill upon first impression. But sick was not suitable in this case, not even the word monster to describe him—no, he doesn't carry himself in any fashion of a monster. Not even in the disguise of gentlemanly like Hans. To Elsa, the Being before her screams of poison.
The Being was already smiling when he walked out, but his smile reached to the very corners of his cheeks once her examined Elsa. "My Your Majesty," said the Being. "You are flattering me quite kindly with your, trembling there." Elsa hadn't realized it until now, but her hands were indeed shaking. Once aware, she forced them to stop their tremoring. "You can very well guess who I am, but still, allow me the honor in introducing myself. I've been given the title by fellow Beings as The Nightmare King; your world recognizes me as The Boogie Man. But, I am best known in the World of Beings as Pitch Black. It is an honor to meet you Your Majesty, Queen Elsa of Arendelle."
Elsa smiled hesitantly. "Well now I'm the one who's flattered," she said with composure, "But I can't say it's a pleasure or an honor to meet you Pitch Black."
"Pitch well do."
"And Elsa to you."
Pitch chuckled lightly, and then raising his eyebrow in curiosity, Pitch peeks over to the side behind Elsa. "And how are you doing Jack, I haven't been playing with you too roughly now have I?"
Tried he did to hid his struggle; Jack gritted his teeth with a forced grin in order to stop himself from grunting or hissing as he stand. "Not at all Pitch," Jack said with effort. "Ha-ha, I might even say you're losing your touch old man."
Pitch's shoulder moved a bit as he snickered in amusement. "Funny as always Jack, but there's no fooling the truth this time; there's no joke here to laugh at anymore. You are slowly getting weaker, while I am growing stronger by the minuet. And soon that little hidden camp of yours will become nothing but a feeding ground for me and my minions, along with the entire Kingdom of Arendelle."
"No!" Elsa said in anger. She flicks her wrist and created an ice barrier with long spikes, all aimed at Pitch. "If you think for one moment I would let you lay your hands on my people, then you are sorely mistaken."
"Oh? Is that so? Then tell me Elsa, how are you going to stop me?" Pitch began to circle around both Elsa and Jack, but kept his distance from them. "On some level your magic can be arguably as equal to that of Jacky here, but do you honestly believe your magic is stronger than mine? Or could it be that you have something else up that dainty selves of yours?" The more Pitch circles them, the more the Nightmares and Fearlings begin to gather around them as well. And they continued to come one after another, encircling Elsa, Jack, and their master in a wide ring.
"This won't work Pitch," Elsa said, "You won't scare me like this. I'm not afraid of you."
"I know you're not afraid of me."
"—I'm no longer afraid of myself! I'm no longer afraid of my powers."
Pitch stops circling, while pretending to look surprise. "Why…of course you're not." Pitch then resumed his smile, with a more sinister intent to it. "It's actually quite more of the opposite…You are now afraid that your powers may not be enough."
Elsa was caught off guard and ended up looking doubtfully at her hands.
"Don't listen to him Snow Queen," said Jack as a warning.
"Oh but I speak the truth. I know everything there is to know about fear. You should really understand that about me by now Jacky boy." Pitch returns his attention to Elsa, forcing her to look back up at him. "Elsa…the reason as to why you were trembling before, was not because of me, but because of what I can do; it's because of what I will, and may do to your people." Pitch leans himself in as if he was close enough to be right in Elsa's face. Next, he spoke in a soft voice. Slowly. It was almost like he was whispering right into her ear. "Aaaand, there's nothing you can do about it."
"And that's enough," said Jack sternly. He raised his staff high and thrust its end onto the ground. Shards of frosts came spewing out from it, along with gusting winds blowing and hitting all in sight except Elsa. The attack was effective against the encircling minions, shattering them into tiny bits of ice, while sending some of them flying away.
Pitch on the other hand was able to avoid the attack by using his minions as shields, and reinforcing his protection with his own black sands. Pitch made for his turn once Jack's attack cleared, but was forced back when a massive bonfire erupted from the ground. There was an arrow there that he hadn't notice before, but Pitch wasn't given much time to think about it. Merida came running up from the side with her sword in hand. She launches at Pitch and the two began to duel.
Jack moved to the front so that he may be facing Elsa. "Snow Queen look at me—look at me."
"He's right Jack," Elsa said quietly. "Everything he said was true." She looks up and giggled lightly. "How ironic isn't it? For so long, I've been afraid of the power my magic has. But now…now I don't think it's strong enough. I can't save my people, my kingdom, nor can I protect those dearest to me with it. I can't do anything."
Jack reaches out and took one of her hands into his. "…Elsa…"
"—Elsa!" Lukas called, as he runs to join her. "Elsa, we need to get the men to regroup. We are now too scattered to form any real defense."
"R-right," Elsa said, as she slowly regains her conscious of duty. "But where?"
Lukas looks as though he has at a loss, not knowing what else to do. "I'm afraid the only place is the Safe Camp."
"But the people—"
"There's no other choice, "Lukas argues in sympathy. "The Fearlings and Nightmares have found the camp, but Rapunzel's charms are still keeping them back with the help of my brothers and their soldiers. However, the charms are weakening fast. Once they lose their power, then there's no stopping those monster from invading the camp.
"…So, this is to be our last stand," Elsa said with her eyes turn towards the ground.
"I'm sorry," Lukas said, with his own head lowered.
"I'm sorry too." Jack said, as he squeezes Elsa's hand. "It looks like we have failed to keep our promises to you and Anna…But I will say this, we won't stop fighting no matter what. We will fight all the way until the very end."
Elsa slowly raises her head to look at Jack. She looks deep into his eyes and saw her reflection within them, and she wondered, could he see himself in her eyes. It was through this refection, did Elsa spot a glint in her own eyes. She wasn't sure why that glint was there, but it must have mean something, for her both her hands were once more moving on their own. Elsa surprised both men by cupping Jack's face between her palms.
"Snow Queen?" Jack asks.
"Jack," Elsa said firmly. "I want you to perform a Merging with me."
