Chapter 38-Free

Three days passed by before Elsa could managed to move away from her bed; it took another three days more before she was allowed to take a step outside her room—but not during the day, but at night. Elsa didn't want any of the soldiers to see her quite yet, and the others also agreed.

It was apparent on the second day during her bed rest, that her mere presence summons up frost where ever she walks, or if she stands in one sport for too long, ice begins to form. The frost and ice doesn't stay for long though, they disappear as soon as Elsa loses contact with the surface she's touching, but nevertheless, she is unsettled by this leak in her magic. No matter how hard she tries she can't stop the frost and ice from forming…More than ever, Elsa needed to talk with Jack.

She tried looking for Jack during the nights but never manage to find him. Elsa even tried waiting for him in her study as she usually does, but he never showed.

Anna and Kristoff would pay Elsa two to three visits during those days, just to keep her company and updated on what was happening. And each time, they would regrettably inform her that Rapunzel, Hiccup, Merida, and Jack couldn't visit her; they were all too busy with work to even take a break.

The Commanders and Counselors couldn't visit Elsa either. Not because they were kept away by their work, but Bellflower had requested them not to, reinforced by Anna's command. Despite Elsa's persistence in having Anna explain why she and Rapunzel had done such thing, her sister wouldn't say a word about it. She would forcefully redirect their conversation each time whenever they fell onto that topic. Elsa wasn't sure if she was more frustrated with Anna's redirection, or surprised that the Commanders and Counselors weren't knocking on her door, asking for an audience with her…or with Jack's lack of show after the note he left. It made Elsa wonder why he even bothered to leave it in the first place.

It was another night after a fruitless interrogation on Anna. This time, Anna managed to tire Elsa out by setting a new record, for continuously talking about sandwiches. It ranged from hand sandwiches to foot longs, or even longer ones, the different types of bread going with which types of ingredients, how to eat certain sandwiches, should there be toppings on them, until finally ending with an idea that Arendelle needing to open up a sandwich shop.

"Think about it Elsa, an entire shop dedicated to making only sandwiches!" Anna said in excitement. "It will sale big!"

Rubbing one side of her temple, Elsa sat down on the edge of the bed, and leaned her body back with her other arm supporting her. "I'm sure it would," Elsa said in humor. "Alright Anna, alright, I give up. Again."

Anna went over and hugged her sister tightly with an apologetic look. "Hope I didn't bore you with my whole spew on sandwiches."

"On the contrary, it was fun in a way."

Anna was about to say something, but the clock on Elsa's dresser chimed quietly with mini bells, while in the distance, beyond the window, both sisters could her the town's clock tower rang softly.

"Is it that late already?" Anna asked in surprise. "I should go now; I need to get an early start tomorrow."

"You're visiting the Safe Camp correct?" Anna nodded. "Then can I come with you? I really want to see how our people are doing." Anna stopped moving suddenly, and looked hesitantly back at her sister. "Anna?"

Anna shifted her eyes towards the ground, then at the nearest wall before returning them to Elsa. "Just a bit longer?" Anna pleaded gently. Elsa recognized that whatever reason it is, it was killing her sister to have to keep it from her, and that Anna had to keep Elsa from going out in the morning. "Please?" Anna repeated.

Elsa smiled, and squeezed her sister's hand tight in hers. Understanding, Anna slowly got up and walked towards the door. Before turning the knob, she stopped and looked back at Elsa again. "If you like, I can walk with you for a little bit tonight. We can go out into the garden, most of it has been cleaned up, and look," she pointed to the moon. "All of Manny is out tonight."

Elsa shook her head. "No it's alright, I'm not really in the mood to go walking tonight."

"Oh…" Anna opened the door and slid partly through. "Then good night Elsa."

"Good night Anna." The door closed with Anna gone. Elsa then slipped off her shoes and put them neatly on the side. Next she scooted herself all the way back until her back touched the wall, where she pulled up legs and wrapped her arms around them. There, she stared longingly out the window. She kept herself in that position for the next hour or two, before moving away from the bed and towards the glass. Elsa looked up at Manny. "Do you think he'll come tonight?" she asked the moon, but there was no answer. Elsa then touched the area from where the letters were written and created frost around it. Once the glass was cold and fogged enough, she began to write, Where are you? She ended it with a tiny snowflake next to the question mark.

The wind blew from the outside making the wood of the window frame groan a bit. Elsa then heard slight clicking of heels outside her door and knew a maid was nearing. She assumed that the servant turning in for the night. Elsa thought about going to bed herself but decided against it, she wasn't ready yet. So she stood right where she was, listening; the clicking noise went right pass her door.

Another pair of heels was heard, heavier and thicker compared to the maid's heels. Elsa decided it couldn't be a male staff; their shoes are rather flat and too smooth to make much noise. So she thought it was a soldier on patrol. The sound of the shoes stopped for a second before it was replaced with sounds of shuffling around in the hall. Elsa wondered if the soldier had spotted something outside the hall's windows, and so was adjusting himself awkwardly in the attempt in seeing better.

The shuffling noise stopped after a few minutes, followed by a long pause. Elsa was about to call out to the man to see what was one, but she then heard the heels clicking again, bringing her to believe the soldier was finally resuming his patrol.

Elsa listened deeply to the heels, all the way until they went beyond her hearing ability. She was so focused on the heels, that the next sound startled her. Elsa didn't know what to make of it. It was quiet, but it was as if something was scratching its clawers against wood. Elsa located the noise and it was coming from the opposite side of the very bottom of her door. "Hello?" she called out. The scratching stopped, but there was no answer. "Hello?" Elsa called again. Instead of the scratching noise, it was replaced by a softer sound, almost like a playful struggle.

Elsa cautiously made her way toward her door. She could see a shadow moving on the other end through the door crack, and she froze. Her heartbeat was racing tremendously. Next, she saw something small and white, like a paw, stuck itself underneath her door but couldn't get through, so it was pulled back. A few seconds later, the paw returned, but this time with an addition of a sniffling powdery nose. It was even less successful than the paw, so it withdrew first. The paw followed soon after.

Elsa immediately relaxed, realizing there wasn't any danger. This time she walked smoothly toward the door, and opened it without a second thought. Elsa didn't open it all the way, but just enough for her form to stand between the frames and curtsied down. She petted the frosted rabbit between its ears before holding it up to level with her gaze. "Do you have a message for me?" Elsa asked gently with a smile. The rabbit's hind legs twitched a bit, making Elsa wonder if that was a response.

The rabbit started struggling slightly so Elsa puts it back on the ground. The moment he was freed, the rabbit started hopping around on air. Elsa followed its movements the best she could. However, she was caught off when the creature suddenly was close to her face, tapping its nose slightly against hers, and quickly hopping back before she could react. The rabbit then dashed mid-way down the hall before returning back to Elsa. He repeated the same action twice. "You want me to follow?" The rabbit dashed mid-way again, but this time remained sitting there.

Without hesitating, Elsa created slippers-like shoes for her feet instead of retrieving her heels, wanting to make as little noise as possible. She then stood back up and shut the door behind her, and followed the rabbit, while also leaving her temporary little trail of frost as she walked.

There were several times when Elsa was forced to hide when she heard guards coming her way. But once she was out of the palace, Elsa found it easier to avoid them, rather than hide from the approaching guards.

She was led toward the furthest edge of the grand garden: a large field of grass with patches of crocuses flowers and rose bushes, along with rows of tall shrubs running parallel to each other. And at the center of this field was a glorious open garden house, made from both wood and marble stones.

The bunny was waiting for Elsa on one of the stone antique benches, but Elsa decided to walk the whole length of the open garden house first before joining the rabbit. She ran her hand over the marble as she walked, trying to remember how long has it been since she been here. Too long, she decided. It has been much too long.

Elsa stopped herself before the step that leads into the house and looked around her surroundings. She couldn't see him. Elsa took a glance at the moon before going over to the frosted rabbit. The animal didn't make any indication to where his creator could be; he was just sitting on his bench, fidgeting in hyper. Elsa bended low enough to reach out her hand and pet the rabbit again, causing it to cease its body twitching. "Where is he little rabbit?" Elsa asked. "Where is Jack Frost…? Is he late?"

"He's here," Elsa heard, and she turned to the left side to find Jack floating near the rails.

Elsa didn't know what to do with herself. She's been waiting for this chance to talk to him, but now…she couldn't even decide what her face should be expressing. Elsa was lost. The only thing she was able to do was clasped her hands together, letting them hang near her waist and keep her gaze on Jack the best she could. It was only after when he seated himself on the rail, along with his legs with his back against the pillar, did Elsa realized she was mirroring his expression. It was somewhat sad, mix with regret and frustration.

Jack was the first to break their gaze, turning his head to look at Manny, and Elsa turned her head to look at the nearby roses. After a moment, she went and took a seat on the bench underneath the rails Jack was seated, but sat herself on the opposite end of it. The bunny padded behind Elsa's train, and hopped up on her lap when she sat down.

Jack looked over Elsa's shoulder as she started petting the animal. He waved a hand producing a soft swirl of snow and kept it on his hand. Elsa saw the swirl out of the corner of her eyes, but kept facing the rabbit. She watched as Jack slowly sent the swirl over to the frosted rabbit. On contact, a large ribbon was formed around the rabbit's neck. The animal appeared to be upset by the sudden attire, lifting its hind leg to scratch at it, causing Elsa to giggle shortly.

Next, Jack sent over another soft swirl. But this time, he made it so that it would shaped itself into a frosted mirror a feet away from the rabbit. The animal looked at it, gave a little sniff of the air around it, and then hopped to it. Breaking through the rabbit emerged on the opposite side as an owl. Elsa followed it as it sore once around the ceiling before rounding down over to Jack, perching on his arm. Jack petted the bird and looked over at Elsa.

Looking at her hand, Elsa created her own swirl of snow and send it over to the owl. Upon contact, a winter hat capped over its head. Jack chuckled shortly. "Cute Snow Queen," said Jack, scratching the owl under its chin.

"Rabbit with a ribbon," said Elsa. "That was adorable…But that note on my window, that was mean Jack." Jack stopped scratching, his face now expressing apologetic. "I tried looking for you Jack."

Jack took a long breath through his nose before exhaling. "I'm sorry," he said, his words vibrated deep in his throat. Jack leaned his head against the pillar. "I wrote it because I was impatient, didn't quite think about how busy I would be kept after the battle…not to mention the others didn't want to coming to see you."

"Now why would they do that?!" Elsa demanded, surprising Jack. "I'm sorry," she quickly apologized. "Being forcefully isolated is a lot more different then choosing to be."

"Don't I know it," Jack commented quietly.

"…But it wasn't only that; Anna and Kristoff kept me updated on plans and progresses but, it felt like they were leaving certain things out." Now Elsa wondered if it was another one of Rapunzel's experiments; the reason as to why Jack was kept away again.

Jack eyed Elsa carefully before continuing to speak again. "The others didn't want me visiting you because they knew I would force you to dissolve our Merging."

Elsa had forgotten all about that disagreement when Jack was forced to perform the Merging with her. "…And now?" Elsa asked with caution.

Jack lifted his arm higher, sending the bird out in silent flight around the house. He also took another deep breath before speaking again. "They made me swear that I wouldn't force you to dissolve it, Hiccup and Merida even went as far as to chain me to tree and threaten to have Rapunzel hit me with her frying pan if I didn't agree." Jack saw the horrid expression on Elsa face and chuckled, with a small smile. "Don't worry Snow Queen. Compared to what they've done to me as pranks, that chain stunt was charming…Anyway; they don't want us dissolving the Merging. With the fighting power Pitch and Hans now have, it would be safe to have some back-up power just in case."

Elsa stood up quickly as a thought occurred to her. She trust Anna, and believes her sister won't go back on her promise but, if they do need more magic power…

"Anna is excluded," Jack said, as though he'd read Elsa's thought. "Anna told us about the promise she made to you. Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Lukas are not so pleased with it, but they'll respect it for the time being.

Looking at Jack, Elsa finally got the courage to move closer to him, standing just an arm's length away. "So why did you call me out now?"

Rubbing the back of his neck, Jack swung his legs over and got off the rail; now standing with just a one-step separation from Elsa. "Three reasons: first, everyone decided to push the job of explanations onto me. Second, there are still some things you and I have to work out about the Merging. Third—" Jack robbed his neck a little harder, dragging his hand down to the front, then over his face and over his hair, clutching at the strands.

Elsa stiffened, now nervous of what that third reason could be to make Jack act like this. Seeing the nervousness in Elsa, Jack said, "We can address the third one later, first the explanations." Elsa nodded in agreement. "There was another reason why Rapunzel and Anna wanted you to stay in your room, and why they kept the Commanders and the Councilors away from you. It was all to stall for time."

Elsa lightly arched an eyebrow. "Time for what?"

"For an excuse really," Jack said casually. He then took a step aside and started his usual habit of skating. "Since they didn't want us dissolving the Merging, they needed time to come up with an excuse for the changes your body went through."

Unconsciously, with one hand Elsa rubbed her thumb on her index finger, feeling for the cold. While with the other hand, she brought it up to touch her braid. She didn't need to look at either to be reminded that both were pale. "And is there one yet?"

Jack skated lazily up to Elsa and offered a hand to her. Elsa hesitated, but placed her hand into his. Next with his staff, Jack taped the marble floor covering it in complete ice. Side-by-side, the two started skating together, with short slow strides. "We finally came up with one just today, and Rapunzel, or rather Bellflower is going to tell the Commanders and Councilors about it tomorrow. The excuse is that you've descended."

"Descended?" said Elsa, getting the taste of the word around her tong.

"During the last battle against Pitch, you 'descended' into a new level of magic power. The gain in power was so great, that it had physically affected you and made you very tired. That is why for temporary, you have to remain in your room to let the new power settle in as well as to regain your strength. 'Bellflower' has no power in rushing such processes."

Elsa thought for a moment. "It sounds fine I suppose, but is that really possible?"

Jack smiled big. "Alright, maybe calling it Descended may be a bit over the top, but humans with magic powers have been known to improve through practice or other. But for our situation, we can't go straight out telling One Two Punch and the Councilors about Merging and such stuff, or more then what they need to know, right?"

Elsa also smiled in return. "I can see what you mean. They would go crazy if they ever find out."

"So by sometime morning or the next day, you should be able to walk out during day time."

"I can't wait," Elsa expressed in gladness.

Jack tapped his staff again, twice, forming a long low ramp out of ice on the steps and stretching far into the grass. "Now for the next one," he stated, as he led Elsa carefully down the ramp. "The reason why I called you out tonight is for evaluation." Once they reached the bottom, Jack whistled sharply for the owl to come. As the bird loops down and follows, the ice covering the marble, and the ones formed into the ramp scattered like droplets, trailing right behind the owl. Jack held up the hooked end of his staff and the bird went and perched right on it. Meanwhile the scatted snow broke off pursuit of the bird and started swarming around Elsa and Jack, encircling them in their own small world of winter. Releasing his hand from hers, Jack took a few steps away while carefully lowing his staff, and allowing the owl to hop over to his arm. "Since we're keeping the Merging, not only do you have more things to learn about the Merging in general, but we also need to figure out what sort of new abilities you now have," Jack explained.

Elsa looked down at shoes, then at both her hands, and then back up at Jack. "Aside from my presence summoning frost and ice, I don't think I have any new abilities Jack. I mean, I don't feel any different than from my usual magic."

Jack nodded in understanding. "Lukas said it may take a little while before your new abilities become noticeable, but as you can see, there are already some effects to your usual use of magic. For now, we're just going to figure out what other effects are there," said Jack, also noting the ice forming over the surface of frost Elsa has. "…Here—think fast!" In an instant Jack spun himself in a full circle, and Elsa saw in replacement of the owl, there was now a medium size snow ball. Without hesitation, Jack shot it straight at Elsa.

By reflex, Elsa felt herself lifting up her arms to block the snowball. She meant for an ice wall to formed out of the ground and come up to defend her has usual, but it wasn't quite what she'd expected. Instead, several of the scattered snow came to her aid. They increased in size while still maintaining their snowflake shape, except they all turned into solider ice, packing together neatly to form a compacted shield, forming thinner looking webs of ice to fill in the empty space. Despite their beauty and delicate looking design, the shied proved to be strong, shattering the snowball upon impact, and even bouncing the impact force back at Jack, in which he managed to dodge by taking a side step.

Walking over towards the shield, Jack inspected it and gave a whistle. "Nice Snow Queen," he said while nodding his head, "Nicely done indeed."

Elsa looked over at her hands. "…Did I—?"

"See Snow Queen, your magic has changed a bit. Here. Look." Stepping over to Elsa's side, he draws her closer to her shield, and had her look deeply at it. "Notice anything else?" Jack prompted. After looking at her shield, Elsa turned a questioning look on Jack. He raised a hand before them and created a palm size snowflake, and kept it centered on his open hand.

Elsa looked at the snowflake, and then back at her shield. "The patterns," she started. "They're exactly the same."

"They're similar," Jack corrected. "See?" He held up his snowflake higher beside her shield. "There are still traces of your design." Elsa noted the sad tone his voice took when he said that, but decided not to think too much of it.

"Alright," Elsa said as she dissolved her shield. "Do you have any other tests for me?"

"I do," Jack replied, as he also removed his snowflake. "And it'll be a lot more fun than this."

"It's not a snowball fight is it?" Elsa asked hesitantly.

"None of the sort." In a smooth motion, Jack skated once around Elsa and a twirl of cool air followed him, lightly brushing Elsa's hair and carrying her train to the front as he faced her once more. "We're going to see how the wind takes to you."

Taking a step back, Elsa said in seriousness, "And this is where you tell me you're joking."

Lifting two inches off the ground, Jack floated closer to Elsa. "Does it look like I'm joking?" He asked with a smile.

"J-Jack…I can't fly."

"—No—No, I'm not expecting you to fly. I mean it would be incredible if you could, but the thing to remember, is that you merged with two of my Lyres. My Devotion, and my Loneliness. Lukas told me that often times Beings' Layers are related to the abilities they have. Take my Loneliness for an example: being lonely can be unbearable at times; makes you feel real cold inside right? As possible results to this Layer, is my skin being cold and pale, and it could've also resulted in the ranges of my winter abilities."

"…Is that all true?"

Jack chuckled. "I'm not really sure honestly. Just doing my best to explain what Lukas told me. But the point is I believe you have some control over the wind as I do because of one of my Layers."

"You mean your Devotion?" Elsa asked unsurely.

Jack gently shook his head. "Naa. I think there's a sort of beauty related to devotion, thus creating the patterns of my snowflakes and frosts, maybe. I think…my flight and power over the wind has to do with my Carefree and Rebellious Layer."

"But Jack, I didn't. I couldn't Merge with that Layer."

"And yet," said Jack calmly. "The wind is still dancing around you." Jack floated a few feet back to allow Elsa to see what he meant. She came to realize that ever since the wind started twirling around her, it has yet to cease even once. Her hair was still being brushed, and her train was still being blown by the cool wind. Elsa looked at Jack. "I promise you Snow Queen," he said, "I'm not the one doing this. You are."

"But how?" Elsa asked, as she pushed a loos strand back into place the best she could. Moving to float in front of Elsa again, Jack took both of her hands into his and held them softly, causing Elsa to slightly blush. "Jack what are you—?"

"Close your eyes," he said, closing his own eyes. Elsa didn't say anything. "Trust me…Just close your eyes." After another moment, she finally did. "Take a big breath Snow Queen. Breathe in…and breathe out. Just relax Snow Queen, and let the wind flow around you as it wants…Alright…open your eyes now."

When she did, she found herself looking straight into Jack's eyes. She'd never noticed before until now, but they were very deep, possessing a faint glow within his iris that she couldn't pull herself away from. He slipped his hands out until it was only their fingertips touching each other. "Look down now Snow Queen." Startled, Elsa gasped and tried to wrap her arms around Jack, but he kept her at distance, only letting her grip his hands.

"Jack!"

"You're fine—you're fine, just calm down, you are not going to fall I promise."

"Jack this isn't safe, just put me down now."

Jack only chucked, bewildering Elsa on how he could be laughing while they are suspended twenty feet from the ground. "Listen Snow Queen, I'm not the one holding you up, I'm just balancing you. If you want to get down, you'll have to do it yourself."

"How?!" she shouted, quickly becoming scared and nervous.

Seeing her reaction, Jack allowed her grip to move to his arms, thus also moving him closer to her as well. And then softly, he said, "Elsa, look at me." Shakenly, Elsa forced herself to look at Jack once more in the eyes. She was greeted with a warm smile that grew to encouraging when he parted his lips wider, showing more of his snow-white teeth. "Elsa," he said more quietly. "Believe me; you can do this. And I am literally right here to catch you if you need me. I'm not holding you up. You are the one who's doing this."

"…Then how do I get down?" Elsa asked stiffly.

"Well…I know how I would get down, but I'm not sure it will work for you though. Don't forget, there's a bit of your magic merged with mine. You know your magic the best, so try to work things out as we go along, alright?" Elsa didn't say anything; her words were all caught in her throat. Despite noticing that, Jack moves on. "As a start, try picturing yourself coming down," he simply said. "See the ground coming towards your feet very slowly, and then see it touching the ground." Hesitantly, Elsa did as Jack said, and soon enough, she found herself slowly descending but Jack remained in the air where he is. The ground was still a good ten feet away, but their touch was already at their fingertips, and Jack had already gone as far as he could go, by slowly flipping himself facing down in order to prolong their contact.

"J-Jack," Elsa said shakenly, stopping her descend and feeling herself becoming unstable. But Jack showed no sign of following any further.

"You're continuing on your own from here Snow Queen. Trust me, you'll do fine. Don't think about needing solidarity—ignore what your body and mind are telling you. Just feel how good the wind feels; feel that it will bring you down safely, and also don't forget to picture it." With that, he slipped his fingers away letting Elsa float alone.

She didn't dare to look down, but kept her gaze forward after Jack retreated. Elsa had also lowered her hands but was unsure on what to do with them. Wanting something to occupy them, Elsa brought them together and held them against her chest. After a few minutes when the wind started blowing slightly uneasily, Jack resumed his coaching. "Relax Snow Queen. Can't you feel it, how the wind is moving right now? It's reacting to your nervousness. Remember what I said: forget everything and just feel the wind and picture your descend."

For another while, Elsa continued to float in the air unstably. Three times she suddenly bobbed causing her to lose balance and fall. However, each time Jack managed to catch her and bring her back up to her mid float; he would then help re-steadied herself before letting go again. Eventually, Elsa started descending. Not so much as smoothly, but she made her way down with bits of more struggles before her feet finally touched the ground.

"Good! Not bad Snow Queen," said Jack, as he lowered himself down next to her. "I would even say you did a good job for your first try."

"A good job you say," said Elsa, as she rubbed her arms to steady herself. "It's more like a blunder start I would call it."

Jack chucked. "A blunder start; have you seen my floating experience? Not quite one of my safest experienced with the wind you know."

"…I know." Elsa said with a small smile. She remembered well the memory of seeing Jack awakening as a Spirit and Being, and as well as how Jack's first float went. "But I still don't understand; how is it that I have some control of the wind when I didn't merge with your related layer?"

Elsa watched as Jack floated up again, and once more flipped himself upside-down but was still leveled with her in gaze…and his face was very close to hers. "Snow Queen," Jack started, "Define Carefree and Rebellious for me."

The memory of their first night together in her study appeared in Elsa's mind, causing her to slightly lose focus and even blushed. "Well…Carefree means not having a care in the world, or rather not caring for too many things or isn't bothered by much."

"Uh-huh. And Rebellious?" Jack asked, twirling his staff behind his back.

"Going against authority and control?"

Jack nodded his head. "Alright. Now, what do these two have in common?"

Elsa was caught off guard by that question. She quickly thought about it but couldn't see any deep connection between the two. "They're both irresponsible."

"Ouch," said Jack. He stopped spinning his staff and also made a physical show of wincing in pain. "Haha, didn't see that one coming. Sure you have a point there, but there's something else there Snow Queen." Jack brought down his free hand in between his face and Elsa, and held it there as he summoned a snowflake on it. The snowflake was large enough to be an ornament. "The bigger connection I want you to see, to really understand, is that they both are free." Jack suddenly sent the snowflake up to the air where it exploded into pounds of powdery snow. The powdery snow then gathered themselves together into several small and large groups, where, they shaped themselves into a verity of animal figures ranging from land and sea.

Elsa had followed the whole process with wonder attention, and so she was surprise to find Jack was suddenly gone when turned her gaze back. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw the swift motion of Jack's poncho. Elsa turned and found Jack flying with the snow-made animals. They darted around her in all directions, but they still maintained smooth linked motions. There was a few times where Elsa lost sight of Jack, however, his laughs, she didn't lose track of any one of them. They were very clear despite being faint like echoing in the distance. Life and energy was undeniable in his laugh, plus humor as well; and they were slowly seeping into Elsa's heart.

She was following a sea turtle when Jack appeared in front of her, but she wasn't surprised. It was only when he took her right hand in his did she felt a jolt of shock. Jack lifted both their hands up to once more be in between their faces, with palm facing up, and he created another ornamental snowflake on there. "Elsa, you may be the very opposite of irresponsible; you're not carefree and hey, you are the authority, but you are also free. That very day when you finally let lose, accepting who you really are, and your magic…you were, and are very much free now. Not to the level that I'm at, but nevertheless, you are free…wouldn't you say?" When Jack asked that, he took his hand away, letting Elsa hold the snowflake alone. And as a result, the snowflake also changed slightly in its design, a hint of strong geometric shapes.

Elsa looked at Jack, and then back at her snowflake and smiled. "I would," she said with confidant, and sent the snowflake to decorate the surrounding air like Jack.

"Well Jack Frost," said Elsa with satisfaction. "I suppose we should be calling it a night. Look how low Manny has gotten already."

"Yeeeah, I guess you're right." Jack was looking at Manny with a blank face, making Elsa wonder if there was something wrong.

"If there is anything else I need to learn, can we save it for tomorrow night? I'm starting to feel tired."

Jack turned a glance at Elsa, and then back at Manny. With a final look at Elsa, the wind started blowing gently swaying Jack towards the side and rounding behind her. He then surprised her by sweeping an arm under her legs, and the other one against her back."

"Jack?!" Elsa gasped in embarrassment, instinctively wrapping both her arms around his neck before knowing what was happening.

"We're not quite done yet… There's still one more thing we have to do. But first, we're taking a little midnight flight. Hey wind." Jack called, and Elsa could hear a gust of wind brewing in the distant back. "Take us up." Elsa prepared herself for the strong impact of gust she was expecting, but a swoon of air came instead, faintly drifting the two into the sky and beyond the reaches of the Earth.
