INFECTION:
TWO ARNS LATER:
Scorpius stood looking at himself in the odd metallic mirror that was a part of the interior décor of the Leviathan. His skin was lightly tanned, no longer deathly pale and marred with Scarran scales. His hair was a delicate honey brown with golden highlights and deep russet undertones. Scorpius turned to the side and examined his slim build, trim waist, and muscles. He took a breath in, watched his chest expand, and then exhaled. He studied his face, beautiful by Sebacean standards. He had gentle cheekbones, a chiseled jaw line, his lips were a light red, and his eyes were two tones of blue with flecks of gold. The only trace of his brutal Scarran heritage had to be the lethal claws protruding from his fingers. He no longer required the cooling suit. Touching is abdomen, the tips of his claws pricked his flesh. Then he touched his hair, the silky strands felt so strange against his fingers. He smiled lightly at the deceptive way Sikozu had braided it to make it look like it had been shorn while still remaining long.
Sikozu woke from her exhausted slumber after Scorpius had tired her out. He had used his new body, his Sebacean body, as well as he had used his leather clad former persona on her. Though, she had never expected to be overwhelmed with the touch of his skin to hers. She knew his lips. She knew his tongue. She knew what he felt like inside of her. Only, this, all of his flesh against her was a new experience that had made her brain shut down. She looked at his back where red welts were fading from his new flesh. Her eyes continued down to look at his backside. During their bout of slow love making she had felt the muscles beneath her heels as he powered in and out of her. Then, as if he sensed her gaze upon him, Scorpius turned to her. Sikozu smiled bringing her left hand to run her fingers through her short cap of red/gold hair that she had cut to blend in more.
In this place, with her, there was no call for Scorpius to be cruel. No one could see them. No one could witness his gentleness towards her. Scorpius strode back to the bed unaccustomed to the feel of the air swirling around his bare flesh. It felt strange. It felt good. But not half as good as the warmth of Sikozu felt against him. Seeing her, healthy, lying beneath a blanket that barely covered her; he could feel himself stirring in desire once more. He settled back on the bed once more, stretching out along her side draping his arm over her waist. Idly he pulled aside the blanket until her abdomen was exposed showing the black Peacekeeper symbols she had gotten because of him. After they were freshly tattooed to her skin, Scorpius had delighted himself in feeling them with his tongue which brought her a great deal of pleasure. "I will never get enough of this." He set his hand on her quivering stomach.
"Of what?" Sikozu asked watching his hand upon her. Sparks tingled along her nerves from the touch of his fingers alone, from the slight prick of his Scarran talons. He lightly scraped his claw across her flesh, hard enough to be sensual, but not enough pressure to split skin. It had her purring in delight. Scorpius was focused on her skin, on the subtle orange/gold glow of her Kalish skin. She had changed so much for him, and he had given up half of his DNA for her, to save her life. For that, Sikozu would never be able to repay Scorpius for all that he had done for her.
"I will never tire of touching you." Scorpius answered. "Your flesh is so warm, so soft, and addicting." He chuckled giving her a smile with his remodeled facial muscles. "I never fully understood all the pleasures skin to skin contact could bring." Scorpius mused leaning over Sikozu to kiss the symbol just below her breasts. She shuddered beneath him, tangling her fingers in his newly grown hair. Sikozu tugged giving him a taste of pleasure and pain at her hands. Scorpius growled his chest rumbling against her sides. He sat up, turned and gazed down upon her, "My loyalty is to you."
Sikozu smiled up at him, placing her hands on his chest with nothing between her skin and his, "Just as my loyalty is to you." She replied. Sikozu knew they held love between them, but loyalty was more important. From the moment she had met Scorpius in that grave on Arnesk, he had saved her life, as he had continued to save her. Weakly she tried to sit up, her hands once more on his broad, strong, shoulders. Like always, Scorpius was there, sliding his arms around her, pulling her up towards him. He held her close just the way she liked.
COMMAND:
Scorpius pulled at the plain black t-shirt, the black leather vest of a Peacekeeper uniform, and felt odd wearing the military leather pants and boots of a common soldier. Moya, the living ship, still had a store room of Peacekeeper uniforms, and fortunately there were clothes there that would fit his new build. He had spent most of his life in his constricting cooling suit, and now that he was free, he missed the confining leather. "I feel ridiculous." Scorpius muttered. "It's a maddening sensation." His voice was the same, the growl on certain words as well as the way his tone would deepen to convey frustration.
Sikozu was back in her black leather, still a match to the attire Scorpius wore. The leather was tight, conforming, and showed off her Sebacean marks. Her hair was the messy spikes it had been aboard the Command Carrier, and her skin buzzed with life. She carried a part of Scorpius inside of her so that she was more than a Kalish. "Scorpius," Sikozu put her hands on his to still his frantic tugging his of his shirt. There was nothing she could add. His mind was the same, but his body was new, something he would have to get used to just as she would take great delight in leaning his new form. "What are we going to do?" she asked instead. There was no place for them in the Peacekeeper ranks, not under the yoke of Grayza. "What if we have to leave?"
"Then we'll make our own way." Scorpius said pushing aside his new found feeling of nervousness. He leaned into her, kissed her forehead tenderly. "Whether we're here, or the Command Carrier, or even on the Marauder, we'll find our way." He wanted to put her at ease. Every arn they spent on Moya was one more arn they came to be thrown off. The crew hated them. The only reason they were allowed to remain was because Sikozu had been ill and he had undergone genetic modifications to save her life. "It doesn't matter where we end up so long as we're together." They were still alone and he could still be gentle with her. "Come here," Scorpius pulled her once more into his arms. "We'll be alright. We always are."
"My people will be looking for me." Sikozu said pulling back from Scorpius. "They infected the transceiver you found in the Scarran spy, the same transceiver that you put into me." She had been moving through a Kalish settlement looking for her contact, another Kalish spy, but more than one resistance member had captured her. They threatened her with pain, disgrace, and with death. As a reminder of her loyalty they had beaten her, and that was how she had gone back to Scorpius. "If it had not been for you…"
Scorpius placed his hand over her mouth stopping her flow of words. "Your own people would kill you? Why?" He asked. The day she had come back bloodied and bruised, she had avoided him until he had found her in their shower. She couldn't escape him there, or escape his questions. Sikozu wouldn't answer her, but she had given him what he wanted. She had become his spy.
"I would not tell them about you." Sikozu answered. "They wanted to know how I could manipulate you, to keep you from finding out I was a spy." She moved away from Scorpius and stood in front of the window watching the stars. "I refused to tell them anything about you other than you had taken me to your bed." Knowing that her people wanted information about Scorpius had terrified Sikozu to the point she had to lie about how close she had gotten to him. "I told them that you had not taken me into your confidence even though I had demanded 'Honesty' and 'Inclusion'."
Scorpius went to her, placed his hands on her hips gently. "Why did you not tell them?" He inquired. Sikozu had always held things back from him, that he knew, but he had not pried for more information than she was willing to give. On matters he talked to her about, she had always been truthful with him. "What did they want you to accomplish?"
"They wanted to know how long you had been spying for the Scarran's. They wanted to know what information I could steal from you." Sikozu confessed. "I would not tell them what they wanted to know." She closed her eyes, remembered the way her people had tortured her. "That was why I walked away from you on the Command Carrier that day I returned." Sikozu admitted. "I was still fresh from their abuse and I needed to wash it away." His hands cupped her face gently forcing her to look at him. "I could not tell you knowing what you would do."
"And what would I have done?" Scorpius asked teasingly knowing full well the wrath he would've visited down upon the Kalish resistance. He would have found the one Kalish that had harmed his Sikozu, had dared to place even one harmful mark upon her delectable body, and he would have repaid the pain tenfold.
"You would have found them and killed, painfully." Sikozu angled her head and kissed his soft lips.
"As I would anyone who would dare harm you." Scorpius kissed her again, a little more passionately this time. He lifted her against one of the consoles fitting between her thighs. It was his favored place to stand when they were alone, but he sensed they were not to remain that way for long. The door to command opened with Crichton, Aeryn, Chiana, and the young Luxan/Sabacean hybrid Jothee coming in. Reluctantly Scorpius backed away.
"It seems out fate is to be decided." Sikozu whispered sliding from the console to stand once more at Scorpius side where she belonged. His arm slid around her waist pulling her even closer.
"You got that right Sputnik." John said looking at her. He wanted to soften his demeanor towards her, after all she did save D'Argo, but he couldn't separate that with her choice to side with Scorpius, with spying for him, and putting them at risk with the Scarrans.
"John…" Scorpius started to say.
"Save it Scorp." John pointed at the former Sabacean/Scarran half breed. "But I can't overlook what you, or your girl did." He pointed at Sikozu, "You saved D'Argo even while you betrayed us." Then his finger settled on Scorpius, "While you have chased my ass all over this galaxy for years trying to get what's inside my head. Now that I've shown you what you wanted to see most, why do you want to be here now?"
Before Scorpius could speak, Sikozu stepped forward. "We have nowhere left to go. Even as there is a truce, the Scarrans will hunt us, the Peacekeepers will never accept us back." Looking back at Scorpius, Sikozu said, "The only place we could ever belong is here."
"Is that true?" Aeryn asked looking at Scorpous. "You look more Sabacean now than you did before. Certainly they would welcome you back into the fold."
"You assume that's what I want now," Scorpius responded. "The Scarran Empire is crippled, they have submitted to this treaty. My main mission in life is complete." His tone took a hard edge, but when he reached out for Sikozu, his touch was gentle. "I live now only to be with Sikozu."
"We will not beg to remain." Sikozu leaned back in against Scorpius trying to bite back the dread rising inside of her.
"They should stay." John said looking to Aeryn. She nodded her consent. He looked to Chiana. Pip only glared at Sikozu. Turning his attention to Jothee, the young Luxan shrugged.
"An odd vote from you Crichton." Scorpius commented, "But not a poor choice. I can…"
"Save it." John said, "I want to hear it from you zippo girl." He stalked closer to her, rolled his eyes at the sound of Scorpius growling at him. "You assure me that there are no more games being played."
"Our agenda is complete." Sikozu answered staring Crichton right in the eyes. Her gaze did not waver nor did she lie.
"Then welcome back." John whispered.
A FEW ARNS LATER:
Sikozu smiled at Scorpius as he reclined on their bed. She had changed from her leather into loose fitting black pants and a thin strapped black shirt. Going to him, she slid onto the bed and rested between his legs, her back touching his naked chest. "This is nice." Sikozu said taking his arms to drape around her. "No Scarrans."
"No Peacekeepers." Scorpius added. "No Grayza."
"No complex games to play." Sikozu countered. "What do we do?" She asked tucking her head under his chin.
"No, my dear Sikozu, we find other activities to occupy our time." Scorpius kissed the top of her head swaying from side to side. Being with her, being on this ship, it was odd, but he felt at peace. His life's ambition to bring down the Scarran Empire had succeeded, if forcing them to submit to peace was the only way to do that. It was worth it. "I think we can start living a life for us."
"Do you really believe that?" Sikozu asked. "Because I know, I want to be nowhere else but with you." Turning in his embrace, straddling his lab, Sikozu cupped his face. She had to say this before she lost her nerve, "I love you." Sikozu could barely get those three words out. "I'm still not sure what love is, but I know I cannot lose you ever again, not even as part of an elaborate plot."
Scorpius nodded, resting his hands on her hips. "I also love you." He stumbled with the unfamiliar words on his tongue. "I will not lose you again, not for any plan I may concoct." Scorpius promised. "We only ever have each other. I swear it to you." With his vow spoke, Scorpius cupped Sikozu's face and brought her face close to his so he could kiss her. Their lives were just beginning.
THE END
