I do not own Pokémon.
Thank you for reading.
Sorry for the delay. Once again, I have yet to set a consistent schedule. I might be a while updating. I'm considering writing a story for Harvest Moon, which currently holds my attention, so I'm sorry if I don't update for a while.
"What do you think?" Chris turned to observe the three girls standing in front of her in their finery.
"You look wonderful!" Blue wore an off the shoulder dress that was dark blue at the top and got paler as it descended. Her hair was pulled back by a lapis lazuli hairclip, which caused a lock of hair to rest on her shoulder while the rest fell down her back. A lapis lazuli necklace was nestled against her neck and matching earrings Her twinkling eyes peeked out from her periwinkle and white domino mask while a grin adorned her face. White was nervously reaching up to adjust her mask continuously. She wore a traditional black and white ball gown with a hooped skirt and puffed off the shoulder sleeves. Her hair was pulled into a ponytail and held in place by a white ribbon. Curls framed her face and cascaded around her shoulders next to the white domino mask. Yellow wore a pale green corset with elbow length white, dripping sleeves. A full, white skirt cascaded down to show only a hint of pale green slippers. Her hair was pulled into a half ponytail and held in place by a flower accessory whose petals were carved from white jade and the leaves from green. A white domino mask and white gloves with lace at the end, at the wrist, completed the ensemble.
"Can we go yet?" Silver asked. He wore a black shirt with a high collar underneath a white long-sleeved shirt. His red hair was tied back by a black ribbon, as was recently a new fashion, and he wore black pants. A black mask with white embellishments covered half his face and his black boots went up mid-calf. Blue stuck out her tongue at him and marched away to the carriage with White right behind her. Yellow stopped as she reached him.
"If you feel suspected, dance. Don't just stand in a corner eating and drinking the whole time." She whispered. He nodded silently.
Black stood outside the shop and cursed as he checked the time. Only a minute had passed since the last time he checked. He started as a carriage stopped and White stepped out. She turned to wave at the other occupants of the carriage before they left and she smiled at him. "Were you waiting long?"
"It's fine, I got here early." He was rewarded with a dazzling smile. "Shall we?" He offered her his arm. With a nervous giggle, she took it and they walked to the carriage he had reserved for this occasion.
The ballroom was marvelous. Ivy wound itself around pillars as people mingled, some dancing, and all wearing masks. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling and illuminated the ballroom, which would have looked rather empty if not for the people in it. Red leaned against a pillar sipping wine from a crystal glass. His eyes wandered and searched for his friends. There was Green in a shadowy alcove in the wall, Gold was surprisingly not flirting but merely staring out the window completely oblivious to a lady's attempts to persuade him to dance, Ruby was standing by the buffet table shaking his head at deplorable fashions and muttering under his breath, Black…Black was nowhere. Just as he was about to ask about the location of his third knight, said knight entered the room with a rather shy looking, but very pretty, girl on his arm. That was all he took in before he once again saw Lady Misty headed his way. Alarmed, he promptly turned and started walking in another direction after putting down his wine before he crashed into another person. "My apologies, my lady. Are you alright?" He asked automatically reaching out to catch the rather petite young woman. He noted her uniquely blonde hair before she looked up. He felt his breath being taken away. Beautiful hazel eyes stared back as he took in the lady's face being obscured by the mask.
"I am fine. Thank you very much, my lord." Her response brought Red back to reality, a reality where he was being hounded by Lady Misty.
"Would you care to dance?"
