After Limbo

Chapter Nine

Back in Gryffindor Tower, Harry was lifting the golden egg, people around him cheering. The Weasly twins lifted Harry up to sit on their shoulders.

"We knew you wouldn't die Harry" George said.

"Lose a leg"

"Or an arm"

"Pack it in altogether"

"NEVER!"

Harry sighed, He could never follow the twins when they spoke like that.

"Go on Harry, what's the clue?" Seamus asked.

Harry opened the egg and a loud horrific screech came out, he closed it again.

"What the bloody hell was that?" Ron asked, covering his ears. Everyone turned and Glared at Ron who scowled and stomped up to his dorm. The twins lowered Harry down and Hermione hugged him.

"What do you think the screeching means?" Harry asked.

"I don't know, but I am positive that we can find the answer in the library" Hermione said. Harry smiled.

"What would I do without you, 'mione?" He asked.

"Nothing" Came Ginny's cheeky voice from behind them. They blushed.

At dinner, Hermione was reading the prophet when she gasped.

"Look at this! I can't believe it she's done it again" She began reading. "Miss Granger a plain but ambitious girl seems to be developing a taste for famous

wizards. Her latest prey sources report is none other than the Bulgarian bon-bon Viktor Krum. No word yet on how Harry Potter's taking this latest emotional

blow" Harry rolled his eyes, just as Victor walked over to them holding a copy of the prophet.

"This is ludicrous" He said, slamming the paper down. "All I did was ask Hermione if you and her wanted to visit Bulgaria this summer, after the first task"

"Unfortunately, she didn't really write about us, she wrote about Hermione" Harry said, frowning. "But I know how to stop her. She's an illegal animagus. If we report her, her reporter days will be over" Just then there was a commotion at the other end of the table.

"Mum sent me a dress?" Ron seemed horrified. He walked over to their end of the table.

"Ginny these must be for you" He said, holding out the garment.

"I'm not wearing that it's ghastly" Ginny said, wrinkling her nose. Everyone began laughing. Ron's face turned red as the twins came up behind him.

"They're not for Ginny they're for you!" Fred said.

"Dress robes" George nodded. Ron looked horrified.

"Dress robes? for what?" He asked.

The dress robes were for a ball being held in the winter. The Yule ball as a part of the tournament. Harry of course asked Hermione to go with him. Many of the girls were hoping that Viktor would ask them and kept following him.

One day, after finally breaking away from his admirers, Victor was walking up some steps. He reached the top and bumped into Luna who had come around the corner.

"Hi Victor" She said cheerfully.

"Luna, just the person I was looking for" Viktor said with a wide smile.

"Oh?" Luna questioned.

"I'm sure that you've noticed the numerous girls chasing me..." He said, trailing off. Luna smiled.

"I'll gladly be your date to the ball" She said, winking at him.

"Oh thank goodness. You're an angel Luna" Viktor said gratefully.

"I try" Luna said cheekily.

Harry and Hermione were studying in the common room, when Ron came in looking shaky. He was being helped by Ginny and Neville.

"What happened to you?" Seamus asked.

"He just asked Fleur Delacour out" Ginny replied. Hermione and Harry looked at each other and then at Fred and George. Fred's eyes were wide and he was trying not to laugh.

"What did she say?" Lavender asked.

"There she was walking by. You know I like it when they walk. I couldn't help it, it just sort of slipped out" Ron explained.

"Actually he sort of screamed at her, it was a bit frightening" Ginny told the group.

"What did you do then?" Seamus asked.

"What else? I ran for it. I don't know what got into me" Ron said, slightly depressed.

"Didn't you know that Fleur already had a date?" Colin Creevey asked. Ron looked at the younger boy, who nodded.

"I saw Fred asking her this afternoon" Colin said. Ron turned and locked eyes with his older brother, than looked away.
