Chapter Ten
It was soon time for the Yule ball. Harry came out of the bathroom and noticed Ron standing in front of the mirror. He tried not to laugh as Ron looked horrified at what he was wearing.
"I look like my great aunt Tessie" Ron complained bitterly. He sniffed at his clothes. "I smell like my great aunt Tessie" Harry rolled his eyes and left the dorm room. Ash he made his way to the Great Hall, he ran into Viktor.
"Good Evening, Harry" Viktor said. Fleur and Fred walked by and stopped to chat.
"Where are your dates?" Fred asked.
"Still getting ready, I expect" Harry replied. Just then, Cho and Cedric joined them.
"They look beautiful" Cho breathed, staring at the top of the stairs. Harry and Viktor turned around and stood in shock as their dates descended the staircase.
Hermione was wearing a beautiful periwinkle satin dress with a slit up her thigh. Her hair was pulled in a french twist, and she wore dangling diamond earrings with pale pink lip gloss and periwinkle heels. Luna was wearing a purple gown that flowed out the sides like a princess gown. Her hair hung in loose curls down her back and she wore a tiara. Viktor took Luna's hand and and Harry took Hermione's and they champions walked in together.
"Is that Loony Lovegood? With Viktor Krum?" Padma Patil asked. Some of the other Ravenclaw girls scowled.
Loud music played as the champions headed to the dance floor with their partners. They began dancing. Soon others were joining in, Dumbledore and McGonagall,
Mr Filch and his cat, Hagrid and Madame Maxime. Mad-Eye sat on the sidelines drinking. After a few slow songs, the weird sisters cranked it up a notch, playing rock songs. Ron Weasley sat frowning, with Padma, who was staring at the floor glumly. Ginny Weasley, who had come with Neville Longbottom, but was now dancing with Blaise, walked over to him, and sat next to Padma.
"Hot isn't it? Blaise has gone to get drinks. Care to join us?" She asked.
"No, we'd NOT care to join you and Blaise" Ron snapped.
"What's got your wand in a knot?" Ginny frowned.
"He's a Slytherin. You're fraternizing with the enemy"
"Blaise is not the enemy!" Ginny shouted. Their conversation began to attract some attention and Harry and Hermione quickly made their way over to them.
"He's probably using you" Ron snapped. "Besides, I thought you came with Neville?"
"Neville asked me as a friend, but I can dance with whoever I want. Besides I can take care of myself" Ginny snapped.
"Gryffindors don't hang out with Slytherins" Ron snapped.
"Why?" Ginny asked. "Tell me why?"
"Because, they're evil!" Ron exploded. Harry had had enough.
"You're one to talk Ronald!" He said harshly. Blaise appeared next to Ginny and placed an arm around her. "You tried to kill me for dating Hermione, remember?"
"I didn't try to kill you" Ron mumbled.
"What do you call trying to hit me with a reducto curse to my chest?" Harry asked.
"Whatever" Ron muttered. "I'm outta here" Ron left and Harry turned to Padma.
"Would you like to dance?" He asked. Padma nodded and accepted his arm. Hermione walked over to Ginny and Blaise.
"I thought you came with Neville" Hermione asked, confused.
"I did, but Hannah asked Neville to dance, and they've been dancing all night. I think she likes him" Ginny said. "Blaise's date was from Beauxbatons and she ditched him for a durmstrang boy so I asked him to dance and we kind of hit it off" Hermione smiled and then leveled Blaise with a glare.
"Don't hurt her" She warned. Blaise nodded and He and Ginny sat at the table.
