Light peaked through window curtains onto a sleepy Sarah. She stretched her arms and let out a quiet yawn before opening her eyes to stare at the velvet canopy hanging from the bedposts of Jareth's bed. A small smile escaped her mouth as she pulled the feather blanket over her face. Every single memory from the previous night flooded her mind. The way that he kissed her, held her, touched her. She couldn't think of anything.

Her arms reached over only to find the other side of the bed empty. Where could he be? She sat up in the bed to look around the empty room, hoping to find Jareth sitting in the armchair across from the room with the fireplace lit. Except that too was empty. She swung her feet around to the edge of the bed and met the floor. As she stood up, she caught a glimpse out of the opening of the curtains to long blonde hair and black lounge pants. Quietly, she walked through the curtain and walked up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist. She planted a trail of kisses down from the back of his neck down to mid-back. His hands met hers and he pulled her around to meet his eyes.

"Good morning, my dear," he said quietly, leaning in to plant a small kiss on her forehead. "I trust you slept well?"

Sarah traced her hands up his bare torso and reached around his neck. Her eyes stared into his and she smiled. "I slept wonderfully once I finally fell asleep."

Jareth chucked and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, bringing her closer to him. His chin rested on the top of her head and he sighed. Sarah didn't know if this was a sigh of relief or concern. Was he content? Happy? Upset? She wished she could read his mind and know what he was thinking without having to ask.

"Jareth…" Sarah said, bringing her eyes up to his. "About last night…"

"What about last night?" He began. "Sarah, last night was the most magical night I have ever experienced in my lifetime. Ever since you stepped foot in my Labyrinth, I wished and prayed that one day I would be able to hold you, just like this. To be able to have you here, this way, has been the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. To be able to call you mine is all I have ever wanted."

Sarah looked at him in stunned silence. She could hear the sincerity in his voice, almost a hurt tone. All she could think about is the hurt that she caused him five years ago. She was naïve and young, only fifteen years old.

"Sarah, I'm not asking you to make a decision right now or anytime in the near future," Jareth started. "But I don't think I can take it if I lose you again. The first time was enough to nearly end me. All I ask is for you to fear me, love me…"

"Do as you say…" Sarah finished his thought softly. "Jareth, I remember the proposal you made to me, but…"

"You don't have to answer right now," he interrupted. "In fact, I would rather you not answer at this very moment. I want you to think about it. Making a decision based on emotions built up from last night is not what I want."

A loud knock came at the door inside the bedroom. Jareth turned to face the door, inviting the visitor to enter.

A goblin dressed in what seemed to be a type of military apparel wobbled in the door. "Yer Majesty, if I may speak to yews alone?" The young goblin looked very unsettled and stressed which changed the demeanor of Jareth's mood. His face went from soft and content to concerned and dark. He turned back to face Sarah.

"I must go speak with him, but please don't leave," he began. Slowly, his hand wrapped around the back of Sarah's neck, gently pulling her in for a gentle kiss on the forehead. "Just think about what I had said." He turned on his heel and briskly walked through the door while the goblin soldier walked behind.

Her head was spinning. She loved Jareth, but was she willing to settle down and be his forever. Of course you are, Sarah thought. Why else would you have come back? All of her thoughts and fantasies the past five years revolved around the man that put her through hell for thirteen hours trying to solve what seemed like an impossible task. This man who kidnapped her baby brother from her. And yet, she couldn't help but be in love with him.

She sat on Jareth's bed for what seemed like hours although it had only been a few minutes. A sudden gust of wind flew through the opening of the balcony and the curtains almost flew off of the wall.

"What the hell?" Sarah questioned as she stood up and began for the balcony. The air became very cold and dry and she couldn't help but begin to feel unsettled and curious. As she pushed the curtains away, she looked out on the Labyrinth to find what seemed to be storm clouds and darkness fall over the Underground.

The next thing she knew she found herself in the garden right outside of the castle. How the hell did I get here, she thought. It grew colder and darker, and Sarah began to feel scared.

"Jareth?" she shouted. But there was no answer. "Jareth, where are you?"

"You won't find him here, darling," a soft, velvet voice said from behind. Sarah quickly turned around to face a tall, slender woman standing near the entrance of the garden. Her long platinum blonde hair reached down to her waist and her piercing green eyes stared intensely at Sarah. She gracefully moved closer to her and smirked.

"My my, you are what all of the fuss is about," she said, circling around and scanning her.

"What do you mean?" she questioned. "Who are you? How did I get here?"

"What is it about you that is so special?" The woman finished her circle and stood in front of Sarah, ignoring her questions. "You are the great Sarah that the kingdom won't shut their mouths about, aren't you? The one who bested the Labyrinth and stole the King's heart?"

\Sarah was unsure whether she should have felt confused or scared. "Yes, but what is that to you?"

"Oh dear," she said, shaking her head in disappointment. "And he didn't even bother to transition you? You are still human, which is unfortunate for you." A grin escaped her lips as she began to inch closer to Sarah. The strange woman raised her hand to brush on the side of her face, and Sarah slapped her hand away.

"I am still waiting for you to tell me who the hell you are!" Sarah tried to take a step back but couldn't move. She was frozen in her spot, unable to walk or run away. Fear swept through her body and her breathing sped up. "Jareth! Where the hell is Jareth?" The strange woman laughed and walked away from Sarah.

The next thing she knew, the strange woman disappeared and the sky lightened up. Sarah fell to the ground and sobbed through her hands. The fear flowed through her body and she couldn't help but feel helpless and numb. She heard a faint voice yelling her name in the distance that grew louder and louder. She saw Jareth run into the garden's gates and stop.

"Sarah!" Jareth ran and fell to the ground and held her close to him. "Sarah, I've been so worried! Where have you been? What's wrong?" But all Sarah could do is cry into Jareth's shoulder. "It's alright, my love. I'm here. I'm not going to leave you alone."

Sarah looked up at Jareth with horror spread across her face. "This woman, I don't know her name. I found myself in the middle of the garden and… it was dark and dreary. Cold. I was so cold. All of a sudden she shows up in the middle of nowhere. She wouldn't tell me who she was or how she knew me. She had me frozen in my spot because I couldn't move." She sobbed more.

Jareth stiffened and his face turned into anger. "Why is she here?" he said to himself. "What does she want with you?"

"Jareth! Who is she?!"

He looked down to Sarah who was still sitting in his arms with tears in her eyes.

"She is my ex-wife."
