Sorry, I meant to upload this yesterday, but then the power outage came . . . well, anyway, here ya go~
Cabeza and Robin eventually came back. The others looked up hopefully.
"It looks like it's going to take a lot longer to research this," Cabeza said with a sigh. "Everything we found involved using the original vampire—like, if you had been turned by someone who was a vampire, and that vampire wasn't dead, it would have worked."
Sanji sighed. "Dammit. I feel like going back to that guy and giving him another kick or two."
"I agree," Cabeza said, shrugging. "He completely deserves it. Going back to a reversal, I'm sure that there's a way to do it . . . I just need to find out what it is. I'll probably need another day or two."
"So . . . Sanji's gonna be a vampire for a few more days?" Luffy asked.
Sanji scowled. "Why do you sound hopeful?"
Cabeza nodded. "Er, in the meantime, I'd like to invite you all to stay here. It's the least I can do after . . . attacking you," he said to Sanji.
"Hey, that's real super of you!" Franky said.
"Um," Zoro said, "are there enough beds?"
There was a pause.
"Oh, right," Cabeza mumbled. "I have two guest beds . . . hm . . ."
"Then it's simple," Sanji said. "If you've got extra blankets, Nami-swan and Robin-chwan can have the beds, and the rest of us will sleep on the floor."
"Well, whatever," Zoro muttered. "At least there'd be a roof over our heads."
"I-If you're all fine with that, then," Cabeza said. "Oh, Mr. Vampire, if you like, I have a coffin you can use."
"Why do you have a coffin?" Chopper asked nervously.
"That doesn't sound too bad," Sanji said quietly.
"Anyway," Cabeza said, "the guest room is downstairs, and the coffin should be in the closet . . . you can go ahead and check it out if you like."
The others thanked him, stood, and went for the stairs. They quickly found the two beds. Meanwhile, the closet, which contained several blankets and pillows in the left half, had many strange things in the right: Stacks of old chalk; piles of dry wood; something resting on an open shelf that appeared to be a human skull; dusty books; and the coffin, resting upright against the wall.
Franky and Zoro carefully pulled out the coffin and laid it down. Upon opening it, they found another human skull and a few tiny bones that didn't look like they had come from a human at all. They removed the bones and gingerly placed them next to the skull in the closet.
"What does this guy do in his spare time?" Franky muttered.
"Looks comfy," Sanji mused.
"Really?" Nami asked skeptically. "I can't imagine sleeping in that thing."
Sanji shrugged. "Maybe it comes with being a vampire . . ." he paused. "Uh, I'll be back."
And he left the room. The others stared after him then went back to organizing the room.
Nami sat on one of the beds. "Mm, this is comfy . . ."
"Do we care who sleeps where?" Usopp asked, grabbing a blanket and pillow from the closet. "I mean, I kinda want to be close to the door."
"Usopp, I know why you want to be closest to the door," Robin said, "but keep in mind that if something does enter the room, you being closest to the door may mean that you will be the first to be attacked."
Usopp whimpered.
"Hey, speaking of the door," Franky said, looking towards it.
Everyone looked and saw a yellow cat pushing its way into the room. Its hair was long and hung over its blue left eye.
"Oh, it's a kitty!" Chopper said.
"It's so cute!" Nami said. "Come here, kitty!"
"Do you think it belongs to Cabbage?" Luffy asked.
"Cabeza," Zoro reminded.
The cat, meanwhile, bounded over to Nami and jumped up on her lap. Nami stroked it and it started rubbing its head into her chest, purring loudly.
"Oh, he's so cute!" Nami said happily. "I love cats!"
Chopper blinked. "Wait, what?"
"I said that I love cats," Nami repeated.
"No, uh," Chopper said, "the cat said something weird."
"What?" Nami asked, frowning. The cat had curled up on her lap, still purring loudly.
"Um . . ." Chopper said. "He said 'Oh, Nami-swan is so lovely even when I'm sitting on her lap!'"
There was a moment of silence. The cat glared at Chopper.
"What!?" Nami shrieked, staring down at the cat, which looked up at her and purred innocently.
"He said 'I'm just an innocent little kitty'," Chopper quietly translated.
Zoro stepped over to Nami and seized the cat by the scruff. The cat hissed and swiped at Zoro.
"Okay," Usopp said. "I know this is going to sound crazy, but I think that cat is—"
There was a puff of smoke and Zoro suddenly found himself holding onto the back of Sanji's collar. Sanji quickly removed himself from Zoro's grip.
"—Sanji," Usopp finished.
Luffy laughed. "Sanji, that's so cool!"
"What's the big idea, grabbing me like that!?" Sanji yelled.
"What's the big idea with you!?" Nami yelled. "Taking advantage of turning into a cat to be a pervert!"
"You called?" Franky said.
"NO!"
Cabeza quietly entered the room. "Is everything okay?"
Nami, Sanji, and Zoro glared at him. He meekly backed out of the room.
I don't know if anyone else remembers this, but there's a certain part in the Drum Island arc that's always bugged me. There's a short scene in episode 87 where Luffy is rummaging through a trunk in the castle looking for warm clothes, and one of the things that he tosses out is a human skull. I'm really curious as to why Dr. Kureha and Chopper kept a human skull just lying in a trunk.
