"Alright everyone it's time to eat! Gather round!" Korsak's voice boomed at the guests around him.

Those who were absorbed in conversation took a pause in their discussions and begun to gather around. The usual people were present, Frost, Sean, Alice and her children, along with the normal Melanie, Korsak, Maura, and Jane. Everyone went to go sit around the table to eat their meal.

"Maura dear can you help me bring the food at the table?" the energetic red head asked.

The honey blonde rose but was hiding the flush look upon her face. Up till a few minutes ago she was in her room being pushed up against the wall by a beautiful Italian. Maura was reminiscing about what the woman was doing to her and how she was making her feel. Oh God I love what she was doing to my neck, and the feeling of her fingers running through my hair. A smile was adorning her face as she heard the familiar boots walking into the room, revealing her lover's presence. When Maura looked at her she could not help but stare at the ravishing woman before her. She was wearing her usual black boots and pants along with a deep violent tunic that was covered by a black vest. Simple attire but Maura could not keep her eyes off the woman who looked absolutely beautiful. When brown eyes met hazel Maura could see the lust that was present from what had transpired beforehand. White teeth came into a grin as predominant dimples exposed themselves sending shivers down the young girl's spine. The seductive woman was making her way toward the other girl looking at her up and down.

"Oh Janie you're back" Melanie replied seeing the older girl. "Come along it's time to eat."

Jane nodded her head in compliance as she moved into Maura's personal space. "Hey, we'll finished what we started later." She breathed into her ear causing the other girl to close her eyes and gasp out. No one else noticed this interaction between the girls. Jane finally grabbed Maura's hand and brought her to the table to eat their meal.

"Melanie that meal was absolute divine." Alice remarked as she finished her meal. In fact most of the guests were about done but became interacted in conversation.

"Well thank you, but it wasn't just me" she spoke as she looked toward Maura. "Maura helped me with a lot of it."

Everyone looked at the girl in which a slight blush filled her face as she nodded her head in agreement. She suddenly felt a hand on her thigh and looked to her friend. Jane had a slight smirk along face with a certain gleam in her eyes that wasn't entirely innocent causing Maura to flush further.

"It was nothing really. It was mostly to help me learn how to cook." She replied nonchalantly.

"It is probably something new to you. Being a princess, you must not have had much experience with cooking." Alice commented.

Maura nodded her head. "Yes I didn't. But I would sometimes I would watch the cooks make meals. There was something so elegant in the way they prepared everything, truly fascinating. My mother told me that she would eventually teach me when I got older. She said it was important to be self- efficient, even in the life we were living." She spoke thinking about her past. "But she had died and I haven't had the desire to learn, until now."

Everyone sported solemn looks when Maura brought her mother up. They were unsure of how to react because of the evident pain that was in Maura's voice. The only thing that was constant was the rhythmic stoking of Jane's hand on her leg in comfort.

Melanie finally broke the silence. "Well your mother was an intelligent woman. She was a wonderful queen as well, she will be sorely missed."

Everyone nodded their head in agreement. Vince was the first to react by lifting his glass, "To our beloved Queen Hope, that she may be at peace wherever she may dwell." Everyone followed in suit as they consumed their glasses.

Dinner and conversations finally ceased as the guests had to leave to go to their own homes for the night. They had a nice time and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Melanie, Korsak, Maura and Jane helped with picking up the mess which did not take too long. They had finally finished as they talked here and there about what was going on.

"Well it looks like I should get going." Jane spoke looking at the other three. The oldest two people nodded in agreement as Maura had furrowed brows, not wishing Jane to leave just yet. Jane was smiling as she turned around and exited through the entrance.

"Actually Melanie I am going to stay with Jane tonight…..we're uhh….planning to train early tomorrow morning and it would be easier if I stayed with her." She remarked quickly. It wasn't a completely lie. Her and Jane were planning to train sometime early…..one of these days but if she were honest she truly just wanted to fall asleep and wake up in the arms of her beloved.

Melanie nodded her head. "Ok that's fine, go on and stop Jane before she gets too far."

"Yeah and be careful highness, be safe." Korsak retorted.

Maura smiled hearing both of their concerns which warmed her heart. "Yes of course. I'll see you soon. Goodnight." And with this Maura retreated from the house and went to follow after Jane. The night had a slight breeze that gave the girl shivers as she started her walk. She hoped Jane had not gotten too far because she did not want to sleep another night without her. A pair of hands wrapped around her waist while a head went in her neck and begun to kiss along her shoulder.

"JANE!" the younger woman screeched in surprised. "Oh God Jane you frightened me!"

A low chuckle escaped from the Sicilian's throat as she tightened her hold on the honey blonde and she hid her face within her neck. "Ah Maura I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. I like to watch you squirm." She whispered lightly in her ear while she was giving her a huge grin.

"Oh Jane you are ridiculous! Besides, I was hoping that you had enough from before dinner" she responded as she rolled her eyes.

Jane huffed and began to kiss along the back of her neck. "I was hoping you would follow me. I missed you for the past few days Maur."

The shorter woman turned around to face her. She looked up and saw a little bit of sadness in her eyes and she sadly smiled. "Oh Jane I had stayed with you for a week and a half, and Melanie was becoming suspicious why I was staying with you so much."

"Ah Maura I can't sleep good without you there….."

"Well." Maura quickly remarked as Jane gave a confused look on her face. "You said I can't sleep good, but it's I can't see well."

Jane rolled her eyes from yet again being corrected by this woman. "Ok miss know-it-all, I just love holding you in my arms as we fall asleep. Satisfied?" She remarked with a pout lip, completely childish.

Maura shook her head and rolled her eyes but could not help but smile at Jane's adorable actions. She wouldn't be caught dead by anyone acting like this…. except me. This thought increased her smile as she thought about how much she was able to see about the great Jane Rizzoli that others were not fortunate enough to. It was nice seeing Jane act less serious and in control in front of others and how she could be completely and utterly adorable around her showing her soft and sensitive side. It was reassurance of Jane's affections toward her and that she really, truly adored her. Maura began to feel butterflies invading her stomach as she tried to hide the blush but it was too late.

"What? What is it?"

"Nothing. I'm just thinking about how much of a sweetheart you are. I love how affectionate you are with me." She responded as she wrapped her arms around the taller girl's neck.

This time it was Jane's turn to become red from embarrassment. "Geeze Maur, I'm no Prince Charming or anything, I'm….I'm just me."

Maura grabbed her chin and pulled it down in order to face her. "And that's all I want. Nothing more, nothing less. Just you Jane Rizzoli." She boldly declared with a gaze of piercing hazel eyes.

Jane tried to hold off as much as possible but found herself unable to resist such beautiful eyes before her. She stared back with such intensity that her chocolate orbs could hold. Jane then lowered her mouth onto Maura's as she consumed the other person's lips. The shorter woman was hoping for this as she missed such lips. Jane had begun to thrust her tongue inside the other woman's mouth in which Maura greedily took and sucked on it. Jane groaned in response as moved her lips more ferociously within her mouth. The honey blonde could not help but relish in the passion that Jane was currently giving her. Maura then felt Jane's arms tighten even more around her, and suddenly she was being lifted off the ground. Jane's arms wrapped around, right below her behind trying to hold the other girl up. The girl was definitely surprised by this move but it did not stop her from keeping contact with Jane. Maura tightened her hold around her neck, trying to bring them closer together. She clutched the back of Jane's head, grabbing at her raven locks. Maura could feel her heart pounding as well as Jane's from the close proximity, sending surges of arousal to her core. Finally Maura broke free from Jane's vigorous lips, trying to stop the desires for Jane to continue further. She looked at the woman below her and saw that Jane's face was flushed and she had swollen lips; breathing deeply from their osculate and both were slightly shaking.

Maura realized it was probably from holding her. "Jane put me down. You're having a hard time holding me up."

Jane shook her head viciously and looked up at her girl. "No not yet. I love having you this close to me."

Maura's face grew a smile from Jane's statement. This woman can cause me to lose all self of myself. Maura took a deep breath, "Jane…"

"I love you Princess."

Maura saw the sincerity in her eyes and had to fight the tears back as she lowered her forehead to touch to hers and placed her hand upon Jane's cheek. "Take me home bug."

It had been a few days after that night at dinner that Jane and Maura found themselves walking back into the village. The past few days Jane had been difficult in trying to get out of bed. All she wanted to do was constantly have her mouth and hands somewhere attached to the other woman's body. Maura had loved the way that Jane was affectionate with her, both physically and emotionally but she was starting to get suffocated inside the house. She just wanted to be with Jane outside enjoying the beautiful weather as well as each other. This morning was the final straw as Maura insisted on going out and getting some fresh air. She was finally able to convince her reminding Jane she had some errands to run within and on the outskirts of the village in which Maura had accompanied her. They had been discussing that her clothing had been moved in awkward places of the house that she did not remember putting them. Maura was trying to think of a reason but Jane already had a theory.

"Bass probably did it." She said simply.

"Bass? Jane he couldn't possibly move my clothing. Besides he knows better than that."

"Maur he's a turtle. I'm not sure it's correct to say that he could possibly know better."

"Tortoise!" Maura corrected quickly. "You say that just to aggravate me don't you?"

Jane adorned a guilty smile unable to hide it from Maura. "What? You're so alluring when you're angry." She responded with a not so innocent glint in her eye.

"Oh Jane you are impossible!"

"And yet you still love me." She retorted with a charismatic grin upon her face, knowing she already won.

Maura huffed in response not wanting to give into Jane. "It's not like I have much of a choice." She muttered lowly that caused Jane's smile to increase.

"It's ok honey. I'm hard to abstain from."

Maura was about to come up with a snarky remark but stopped herself. She thought about Jane's recent statement and smiled heavily. Jane tilted her head in confusion, as she too was waiting for a counter response but none came; seeing only but a smile on her face caused a bit of concern.

"What Maura what is it?"

"Honey. You called me honey."

At first this omission confused Jane further but then she understood. "What nobody called you any of those type of names before?"

Maura quickly shook her head, "Oh no I have." She said quickly causing Jane to have a look of bewilderment. "I have from other suitors, but none of them had meant anything to me. Not until you."

Jane blushed once again from the shocking information Maura had just revealed as she was unable to help herself. She continued walking but looked away from that beautiful face. "Gosh woman you're gonna kill me from blushing so much!"

"Oh Jane it is very unlikely that you could ever die from embarrassment. Beside who's going to make me feel as good as you do if you are gone?"

If Jane thought her face was red before it was no comparison to now as she looked like a tomato as she was trying to find a response to say back. Damn this woman is infuriating. "Alright, alright you win Maur!"

Maura chuckled lightly as she truly enjoyed how she could make the other woman squeal. She decided take pity on her and to say nothing further. They continued their way onto the next destination which was to Mr. Andrews, the apothecary. Maura had been pressing Jane to keep medicines in her stock in case of an emergency. Jane thought it was pointless but Maura was insistent upon it, eventually winning that war. As Jane was reciting what Maura told her she should get Maura had walked off to look around the shop. Then she saw a familiar face, of blue eyes and light blonde, wavy hair. She remembered her from the meeting as she arrived in the village with Tommy. Lydia. Maura stared at her for a few seconds until she felt a presence behind her.

"Hey Maur let's go."

"Oh Jane? Isn't that it?" the blonde asked in a squeaky voice as she slowly made her way toward them.

Jane had anger in her eyes, obviously uncomfortable with talking with the mother of Tommy's child. Jane was trying to pull her away but it was too late for Lydia had already reached them.

"Hi." She muttered quickly.

Maura offered the young girl a smile. "Hello you must be Lydia. I'm Maura." She replied politely.

Jane face turned into complete annoyance from Maura reaction toward the other woman. Even though she had told Jane about her family, Tommy was still a sensitive topic to discuss. So seeing someone connected with Tommy made Jane want to avoid at all costs.

"Actually Jane, I've been wanting to talk to you. Since you're Tommy's sister and all."

"Listen Lydia, I….my brother and I have a complicated relationship and I would rather not discuss it with someone that I or he barely know." She spoke coldly.

Lydia looked down at her feet in shame. Maura felt a pit of guilt for the young girl along with anger at Jane acting this way. She then elbowed Jane's side causing her to look back at her in complete shock, a 'what' question along her features. Maura motioned her to talk to Lydia and Jane rolled her eyes and let out a heavy sigh.

"Hey Lydia, I'm sorry I didn't…."

"No you're right" she interrupted. "Tommy and I have only known each other for a short period of time before I got pregnant. We fooled around and we weren't smart about the choices we made. But when I told him I was pregnant, instead of running away like I thought he would, he told me that he was going to be here both for me and the baby. He said he didn't want to be like his father was when he left you guys, but more like his sister who stepped up and was there to help the family survive. He told me what had happened to his family, and what a horrible person he was for leaving them and taking the coward's way out. He suffers through that every day and still refuses to forgive himself from his past sins. He needs his sister right now because he is afraid he will still fail as a father because of what he has done. I know I have no right to say this to you, but Tommy is a good man, he may not be perfect but he is good. So I ask you please, help the good man that you raised, because I need him to help with this baby because he lacks the courage to do what I know he can do. Please."

Jane looked at her in shock from her words, and truth be told Maura was shocked as well from the speech this young woman spouted. Maura could see Jane's features soften at this girl as she tried to fight the emotions and hide them at bay. The older woman loved her brother deeply, no matter how angry she is at him; she just felt she had failed him as a sister. Maura knew it was time for her and Tommy to reconcile and hopefully this was the push she needed.

Jane nodded her head, "I'll think about it. Honestly." She spoke with a promise that Lydia acknowledged with a nod. She then stepped away and walked away, leaving the other women to themselves. Jane was left in a state as Maura understood her reaction. Instead she grabbed her hand and led her to their place of peace. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Maura had brought Jane into the woods but the lake. Jane had not said much from the walk there but Maura knew that there was a multitude of things occupying her mind. She knew she needed to get away and think things through. So the honey blonde sat them next to the lake, side by side, and Maura took Jane's hand and held it while they both looked at the flowing river. Jane sighed heavily as Maura watched her. To anybody else she would look like nothing was the wrong, but not to the short woman. Maura knew better and saw that it was a mask Jane was hiding behind. Maura was waiting patiently for Jane to talk and she would wait all night if she had to. Making up with Tommy would be a huge step in Jane's recovery. She needed it in order to fully move on and start her life. Though she understood the brunette's hesitancy to do so, it is not so easy to forgive such a mistake. But she knew Jane needed this whether she knew it herself or not. Maura's thumb rubbed along her scarred hand repetitively trying to bring tranquility to the brunette. It was unsure how long the silence lasted but when conversation begun it was highly appreciated.

"Jay." She whispered breaking the silence. This caused Maura to fully look at her waiting for some explanation. "That's what Tommy called me when he was little; he couldn't say my whole name so he called my Jay and it stuck."

Maura continued to watch the brunette spout off this information. She knew it was important and eventually Jane would get to her point. So she patiently remained silent.

"When my Pop left, Tommy was about six so he does remember him some, but not as much as me and Frankie of course. But even though he was little he understood what was going on. Tommy was really close to my father, always wanted to do everything he did and be exactly like him. I used feel the same when I was younger too but the more I grew up the more I saw who my father really was." She continued as a flash of anger cross her face that was noticed by the Princess. "I was about ten when I found out that he was cheating on my mother, he would go to work and spend endless hours there. One day I went to give him something he needed and I found him in the arms of a younger woman. I knew what he was doing was wrong but I couldn't tell my mother what I had seen. Not that she didn't already know, he didn't do too well hiding it but I think my mother tried to forget it because he provided for us. After I witnessed that I slowly distanced myself from him but he didn't seem to care, he was too busy flipping skirts. I didn't want Frankie, my other brother to see what he did so I took him everywhere with me. We became really close and instead of having our Pop for an idol it was me, so I had to set an example." She said as she tried to hold back emotions. "Frankie was one of the kindest, gentlest people you could ever meet. He would have made a great husband and father, if he was given the chance. Anyway Tommy wasn't old enough to know the truth so he continually adored him like he was God or something. So when he left with one of his whores, it took a toll on Tommy. When he got older he was always getting in trouble and doing stupid shit" she began to rub her face with her free hand. "I was always really hard on him and we would always argue. There was this one time we were fighting and he yelled that I wasn't his father and I said that no I wasn't that his father abandoned him. The next day he ran away but we found him three days later and I was a complete mess. There is so many things I could've done differently, I could've been better with Tommy but we were both easily matched in stubbornness. Frankie was always the mediator between us." Some tears begun to fall down her face and Maura moved her arm around the broken girl and held her tight. "I feel partly responsible for what happened to Frankie and Ma, because maybe if I would've been better to Tommy, if I had taught him better, spent more time with him, then maybe things would have turned out different. He wouldn't have taken our father's example and ran. But I was always out working to help provide food for us because Ma could only do so much. I just feel like I failed him and if I face him then it only confirms that I did." She concluded and placed her head in her hands in shame while trying to hold in a sob. Maura knew she had to let her love know the truth by actions and words.

"Jane. I may have not known you then or ever met your family but I know you were a good sister. Do you want to know how I know that?" Jane lifted her head and looked at Maura with red eyes and nodded her head. "That day in town where we met, you saw your brother was in trouble and you put yourself in danger to save him. Now if that's not love I don't know what is. You may have not been able to always be there for him but you protected him and tried the best you could. You were given a cross you never meant to bare when your father left, but instead of giving up you tried everything in your power to help your family. That to me is not actions of a failure and I love that about you Jane; that you give and give while never expecting anything in return. You maybe stubborn as you say but you are selfless when it comes to those you love and I don't think Tommy would trade that for the world."

Jane looked at Maura as he mouth was slight agape. Maura could see she was contemplating all she had said and hoped it would be enough to convince Jane. Then out of nowhere arms swooped around the honey blonde as the brunette pulled her in a tight embrace, eventually bringing her on her lap. Jane stuffed her face with her lover's neck as she tried to find comfort in the loving embrace. "You are wonderful." She said with a muffled voice but was easily heard by the other woman.

"Yes I know" she replied confidently along with a smile on her face.

"So modest too." Jane remarked and both woman burst out laughing that lasted for several minutes. When they finally calmed down they basked in the warm breeze as well as the presence of one another. Jane's lips touched Maura's ears with little pecks, "My family would have loved you."

Maura thought of this and a sad smile crept on her face. "Really? You think so?"

"Oh ya, particularly Ma. You're, smart, sweet, beautiful, thoughtful, polite. You are literally the perfect daughter. Ma would have traded me in an instant." She replied jokingly.

"Jane Rizzoli! I am quite positive your mother would never sell you no matter at what cost."

"Two pennies?"

"You are irreplaceable Jane Rizzoli. No amount of money in the world is worth what you mean to me."

Jane increased her hold on her waist and pulled Maura's face in a searing kiss. The two got lost in the moment but when air was needed they broke apart. "See you say things like that, that make you absolute perfect. Ma would somehow kidnaped you if she had to in order to keep you." She replied with a silly smile on her face.

Maura shook her head and rolled her eyes at the brunette. "What about Frankie?"

Jane placed her head on Maura's shoulder. "Well, he was such a sweet and sensitive soul. He truly was a gentleman that you could trust. If I had to entrust someone to look after you it would've been him."

Maura was silent for a few minutes as she needed to process everything that was said. "Jane it's your choice what to do with Tommy. You may feel that you have failed him but I see different. That day in town, when my mother and I were cleaning your wounds you should have seen how upset and worried he was. He had the same look when he first arrived in the village. He's still that little boy who deep down inside who needs you because you were the one to raise him and be there for him. He needs to know he won't follow in your father's footsteps. And if you still believe you failed him then maybe this is the way to make amends with him, through his child."

Jane did not speak for a while but only deep breathing could be heard. Maura knew she needed time to process her words but hoped she got to her. Suddenly Jane grabbed Maura by her thighs and spun her around so that they were facing each other while Maura was still on her lap. She placed a hand on her neck. "How did I get so lucky to end up with you?" she questions.

Maura leans in and places her head against Jane's. "Maybe it's the universe's way of telling you that you are a wonderful person who deserves to be happy."

Jane grinned at the woman above her with adoring eyes. "Yes, I am so happy." Then she pulled Maura in and kissed her lovingly not wanting to end it, this kiss that expressed the how much they loved one another. Nothing would ever stop them because their love would conquer it all.
