Kevin's POV

Kevin's heart began to pound against his chest. He knew it, he knew his parents had come home last night. He should have gone over and done something. His class had already started so he wasn't able to go anywhere. He handed the phone back to Nazz and she gave him a curious look. Kevin only shook his head. All he could do was sit in class silently for an hour and wait for the bell to ring. He grimaced, that was going to be one hell of an hour. His bad feeling wasn't going away either, it had only gotten worse. He shifted in his seat nervously until he finally got the message he was anxiously waiting for. Edd: I'm here and I'm fine.

Kevin fell back in his seat…that's it? That's all he got? Kevin furrowed his eyebrows and typed furiously on his phone: what happened? Kevin got a message immediately afterward. Edd: I'll explain after school. Kevin slapped his phone in his pocket and crossed his arms. Edd was getting on his nerves now, he had been worried sick all day and this was all Double D was telling him? The hour passed by slowly as Kevin fumed. He looked over at Nazz who couldn't help but stare at him. Once their teacher had turned their back she whisper, "Dude are you ok? You look like you could stab someone in the face repeatedly." Kevin chuckled, "you're not that far off."

The bell finally rang and Kevin was first out of his seat. He ran through the halls and up two flights of stairs before finally reach Double D's next class. He thrust open the door and saw a sleeping Eddward casually seated in his chair. Marie was next to Kevin in an instant.

"I followed him to his next class, he looked completely exhausted and drained. He only shows up to school like this once a year or so, and every time he does I always get anxious he will collapse in the middle of walking or something." Kevin watched Marie as she patted his shoulder. She did look pretty concerned, and Kevin had never seen Double D looking so drained. He winced and sat down next to him. He looked as if nothing could wake him. Kevin turned to Marie, "I'll watch him". Marie shook her head, "Kevin what about your class?"

Without looking away from Edd, Kevin answered her, "Double D is more concerned with his class than I am with mine. If I stay and take notes for him I'm sure it'll bring his spirits up." He heard her leave after a while as kids filled the class. They watched Kevin curiously as he took his seat next to Edd and pulled out his notebook. Once the bell rang Kevin walked up to the teacher and explained the situation, bending the truth a bit. "He was up all night studying, all I ask is that I take notes for him today. I will not make a single sound." Kevin smiled broadly as the teacher eyed him suspiciously. He was a rather tall and slender old man who had a look that said 'don't screw with me'. However, the teacher seemed to buy his story and let Kevin stay. Throughout the entire period Kevin took notes as best he could. He realized what class Edd was taking the moment his teacher began his lecture. Kevin tried his best to keep up, Differential calculus II was not something Kevin was used to. He honestly didn't think the school had such difficult classes. He wrote down everything his teacher said and wrote on the board, it was difficult for Kevin to keep up, but he managed it. After an hour his wrist was aching, fortunately the bell rang and their teacher ended their lecture.

Kevin packed his belongings as he turned to Edd, he was still sound asleep. He looked around the room until he realized he and Edd were alone. Ever so gently, Kevin moved closer to Edd and kissed him on the lips. He did stir and Kevin grimaced, wow you are really out of it. Kevin watched Double D closely as he thought of the best way to wake him. After a minute or so, Kevin finally thought of something. His heart was beating fast but he knew Double D was asleep so his courage was higher than normal. Faintly Kevin pulled Double D's shirt over his chest until it was completely exposed. Kevin swallowed hard, Edd's chest was sculpted like that of a professional athlete and not staring was almost completely impossible. Kevin felt his heart pounding against his chest and his mind going blank.

He shook his head and clenched his fist, "you can do this". He swallowed hard again and brought his lips close to Double D's chest. His heart flipped as he pressed closer, his chest was soft and warm and extremely comforting. He could look at it all day. He pulled his hands next to him and placed them on Double D's side. His breathing began to change, but he was still sound asleep. Kevin grimaced again and began to trail his kisses down farther until he was right at Edd's belly button. Kevin stopped then.

"Don't halt, it was just getting good." Kevin's eyes widened and he shot up. Double D was fully awake and watching him closely. His smile was mischievous and evil yet soft. Kevin began to pull away when Edd grabbed him and jerked him back closer. Kevin found himself sitting a top of him. His heart was about to combust when Double D brought his lips to his. Kevin sighed as he deepened into the kiss. Though he was extremely upset with Edd, whenever they kissed, he couldn't help feeling relaxed. Kevin brought his hands back to Edd's side and pulled him closer. Edd brought his left hand to Kevin's lower back, pulling his groin closer as he placed his right hand on his cheek. Kevin's eyes widen, holy shit he was getting hard.

Double D pulled away and smirked at him, "pay back". He chuckled and kissed the tip of Kevin's nose. He frowned, "what for?" Kevin stood and picked up his book bag as Edd joined him, "for those soft kisses you left on my torso." He winked at Kevin and held the door open. Kevin hesitated before walking through the door, "are you going to tell me WHY you are so exhausted?" Edd's smile disappeared.

"Yes, only if you are unrestricted at this point in time. I'd like you to come to my home." Kevin watched him curiously, he wasn't smiling, if anything he looked anxious. Edd pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed a number, after a moment he spoke, "he's not there right?" A pause. Edd opened another set of doors leading outside and Kevin walked through. "Thanks", Double D ended his call and began to walk toward his car. He was walking rather slowly, something still seemed off with him. Kevin couldn't help let his mind wander. He was so sure his parents had come home, and if that were the case, he didn't even question why Edd was so on edge. Edd opened his car door and helped Kevin inside. He seemed really nervous today, which didn't help his overwhelming feeling of dread go away.

Kevin watched as Double D made his way towards the cul-de-sac. Kevin quickly told Edd about the notes he took in class, however that did not help the air change. He was afraid that his parents would be home, he had already met his mother, and he was terrified to meet his father. He didn't exactly know what to expect with Edd's parents, but he figured if his father was ok with his relationship with him, wouldn't Edd's parents? The closer they got to the circle the more upset Edd looked, and as they pulled into Double D's driveway, the air changed in the car. The atmosphere seemed a lot more dense then normal which did not help Kevin's nerves. Edd parked the car and opened Kevin's door for him. He weakly smiled and hopped out of his black car. Kevin followed Edd to the door as he opened it easily. Kevin frowned, Double D always locked his door before leaving for school, why didn't he do it today?

Edd held the door open for him as Kevin stepped through the door shyly. The house was dark as always, however it felt a bit warmer. Kevin walked toward the kitchen aimlessly, he seemed extra precautionary now and he didn't quite know why. Maybe he was expecting Edd's father to pop out of nowhere. He swallowed rather loudly then mentally hit himself, Edd would be able to tell he was nervous. He took a chance to glance back at Edd who was watching him intently. Kevin blushed and turned back to the kitchen, before stopping. He had never been in Edd's house, but he imagined it to be something like this. Pristine and enormous due to the fact that his parents were well known surgeons, he imagined they would have some money to spend.

His kitchen was vast and rather dark. They had an island that had white wood with a dark marble for the counter top, and the cabinets on the wall to his left where dark wood and had white marble counter tops to contrast. They had few decorations on the walls and tables, however there was a large ceiling fan over the island and other small lights built into the ceiling. Kevin felt as if something was off, the room was large and well built, but it somehow felt empty. He walked around the room until he finally figured it out.

He turned back to Double D, "No dinner table?"

Edd gave him the same expression. Kevin frowned, why was he confused about his question? He assumed every family had a dinner table to sit and eat at. Edd walked in a bit farther, "it's just me that is dining here, and if my parents are over the island fits us all satisfactory." Kevin blushed, he should have known that Edd was usually always by himself and he hadn't seen many people come and visit there place very often. He never saw a single car in their driveway until Edd bought his. Kevin walked around the island before stopping in front of Edd who had been keeping his distance. Kevin tensed then, why was Edd being so hesitant to do anything? They were alone right? Kevin frowned and anxiously looked around, knowing Edd, he would only be staying away if there was something wrong. Edd began to chuckle then as he took a seat at the island. Kevin watched him with bewilderment, he was being distant yet relaxed…that was very unusual for Double D.

Kevin tensed as soon as his ears picked up on a faint noise. It sounded like the house was settling, however it was only getting louder. He watched the ceiling as it shook, he narrowed his eyes; it was footsteps, someone was upstairs. Kevin's heart began to race as he looked over at Edd who was now inches from him, one arm wrapped around his shoulder. Kevin impulsively blushed as Double D touched him. Double D's expression had quickly darkened and ominous, something was wrong. Kevin clutched onto Double D who instinctively clutched him tighter. He pulled out his phone as he dialed another number.

After a ring he heard a click, "I thought you said he wasn't here." Double D's voice was scratchy, hard and cold. It sounded as if he had suddenly turned into a venomous spider which made Kevin's back shiver. Kevin held on tighter until Double D's grip loosened, "alright" and he hung up his phone. He sighed and let go of Kevin, completely relaxed once again. Kevin heard the footsteps again, however they were much softer and more graceful. Kevin still couldn't help his anxiety start to rise, he thought him and Edd were going to be alone. The footsteps began to disappear until he heard them on a pair of stairs. Kevin felt his head beginning to spin, why was he so nervous? Kevin caught himself against the island as he felt another pair of hands catch him. He looked up and saw Edd helping him up. Kevin smiled up at him while Edd kept a serious expression on his face.

Kevin watched him closely until Edd pulled away. Kevin stared at him, Double D was acting so off today and it was making him concerned. Double D gently relaxed against the counter top and crossed his arms, but Kevin continued to watch him. He felt his anger rising, what was wrong with him and why wouldn't Edd talk to him or act normally? Kevin opened his mouth to speak until realization hit him, the footsteps had stopped. Kevin apprehensively turned his head around to the stair case to find a beautiful, and small women with raven hair standing before them. She looked just as graceful as the day Kevin first met her, however she did not look as neat. Instead of her hair in a ponytail and curly it was wavy and relaxing against her face and shoulders. She was not wearing any makeup and her doctor's uniform was gone. She was instead wearing a blue t-shirt and black yoga pants. Her body hid her age extremely well, however her face gave her away easily. She didn't have many wrinkles, but you were able to tell she was much older than you would first think. If Kevin had only looked at her figure he would have assumed she was a regular high school student.

She smiled at him and gracefully walked over to him, "Kevin dear how are you?" She embraced him gingerly and Kevin couldn't help relax. He had assumed it was Edd's father that was making the noise, but now that he realized it was his mother, his nerves instantly floated away. He returned the hug as he smiled, "Dr. Stevens, I'm fine thank you." She pulled away and held up her hand, "Please, call me Cassandra." She smiled at him again as he stared at her, taken aback. Something had really changed the last time he saw her. She seemed happier and more alive now, he couldn't help but wonder why, or what happened?

"Please sit, may I get you something to drink?" She began to venture towards the fridge when Kevin stopped her, "Oh, I'm alright, thank you though." Kevin squirmed in his seat, he felt like he was being too formal, though it was Edd's mother and Edd's vocabulary was impeccable. He didn't know Double D's mother enough to know how to speak and act around her. Though she was small, she was intimidating due to her status, which made Kevin seem incredibly small. He peaked a glance at Double D who was watching him lazily. It was only when Double D noticed Kevin looking at him did his expression change. He winked at Kevin who immediately went red and turned away.

"My my you boys do have fun," Cassandra's voice was soft yet somewhat humorous as Kevin's face only depend in color. She took a seat next to him as she smiled again.

"Mother," Double D sighed as he closed his eyes. He opened his mouth again to speak but his mother raised her hand to stop him, "Please Eddward, you don't need to patronize me." She smiled up at him. Edd just turned away non-chalant. Though Double D was still acting his normal self, Kevin could tell the atmosphere was different. When he was in the hospital bed, and Eddward came to see him, the air in the room seemed tense and harsh while his mother was close at hand. However, now didn't seem so tense, though is was still a little rough, the aura was much lighter. Kevin looked over at Cassandra and Eddward, she was watching him carefully, her expression looked concentrated yet soft. It seemed as if she was being protective over him, though Eddward looked more upset than grateful. In fact, he looked rather upset, and tired.

"Eddward darling, do you want to go have a lie down or something? We had a long talk last night you didn't get a lot of sleep honey." Double D didn't flinch, he just looked over to his mother, then to Kevin, he really did look tired. Kevin nodded in encouragement, before Double D finally gave into him. He sighed and left the room. Kevin felt himself relax before turning to Cassandra. She sighed and began to talk when Eddward walked back into the room. Kevin watched him curiously, he was walking right to him. He looked very determined for some reason.

"Eddw-"?

Double D's lips were on his in a flash, Kevin was completely stunned. His mother was right in there, didn't Eddward care about what his parents thought of their relationship? His lips were so warm and inviting Kevin couldn't help but get lost in the moment. He let his eyes close as Edd moved his hand up to his cheek, holding him closer. He was gentle and loving and it made Kevin's heart pound. He finally pulled away before smirking at him. Kevin couldn't help but blush, he couldn't even look at Cassandra. He watched Eddward as he calmly walked back to the stair case and disappeared. It was only after he left that he was able to look at Cassandra again.

What stumped Kevin was how relaxed she looked. It looked as if she didn't realize what had just occurred. She was sipping her drink calmly, looking in the opposite direction. Kevin didn't know whether to be grateful she was acting so relaxed, or afraid that she purposely turn away because she didn't agree. He cleared his throat as she turned back to him, smiling. Kevin furrowed his eyebrows, he didn't know what to make of Cassandra. But she smiled happily before turning her body to him.

"Alright, now that Eddward has left, it's down to business." Kevin felt himself tense up, why did she wait until Edd was out of the room to talk to him?

Upon seeing his reaction she laughed, "My dear Kevin, you misjudge why I have brought you here. My son and I had a very long talk last night. Mostly about you two." Kevin swallowed, though she was relaxed he couldn't help but feel anxious.

"I am all for you two, from what I have heard from Eddward you are quite the man." She sipped her drink again as Kevin blushed, what had Double D said about him? "We also talked about his father, I told Eddward and now I am going to tell you. He is a hard man, and has certain expectations for Eddward." She lowered her eyes before turning away from him, "I only just realized the effect he was having on Eddward last night, as we talked. He wanted the perfect son and, in his eyes, homosexuality is not 'perfect'."

Kevin squirmed in his seat, he didn't like the word homosexuality, but he kept his opinion down as Cassandra talked. "I however…" She paused. She looked a bit miffed before speaking again, "I am trying to be the mother I always wanted to be, but never was for Eddward. As we talked las night I have a better understanding of my son now. I want him to be happy, and I don't care what he does, so long as he is happy. My husband thinks differently."

She paused once again before turning to Kevin, her eyes looked sad and her face hung low, "I have brought you here because I want you and my son to stay together, however I am warning you about my husband. Be careful when you are near Eddward, especially when you two are back here. I approve of you two, and I want to help you both." She smiled at him again before relaxing. Kevin couldn't help himself but sigh in relief, that's all she wanted to say to him? He smiled before looking at her, "Cassandra, thank you very much for telling me that. I would find it very grateful if you helped us, however I am unsure how exactly you could help us."

Cassandra listened carefully, nodding every now and then. She seemed like a very understanding women. Why Double D was so cold to her, Kevin wouldn't understand, but he pushed it aside. That was there issue, between mother and son. Kevin didn't let it bother him, though his curiosity was burning, he was able to ignore it and listen to Cassandra speak.

"Thank you for saying that Kevin that really does make me feel good. I was thinking I could keep an eye on Jason, Eddward's father and my husband. He is not very…favorable of yours and Eddward's situation. I won't be working at the hospital anymore, however we do keep in contact often and I will be able to tell you and Eddward days he will be home or if he has heard any rumors of your relationship. He is a very prestigious, well known and well-loved doctor. He gains information easily, I would be careful spending large amounts of time in public." She waved her finger in front of Kevin as in a warning. He sighed in relief. She was a very good asset to them both. She was willing to help them get around Eddward's father. Though he was disappointed he might never meet his father, he silently agreed it might be a good thing.

"Cassandra…thank you so much." He smiled warmly at her before she patted him on the shoulder. "Eddward has my number, you can get it from him, go hang out with him today. He didn't sleep well, let him rest for a while before you two go spend all your energy." She smiled once again and stood, "I am off, I need to do some grocery shopping." She began prancing around the room like a deer. She was about to walk out the door before she stopped and came back into the kitchen. "Kevin, I'm so sorry, how rude of me, would you like anything?"

He stopped and stared at her, that seemed a little unorthodox. He didn't live there, this was the first time he had actually been in Edd's house. Why did she think she needed to buy him food? He shook his head no gently. She smiled and turned, leaving the house. Kevin looked around the kitchen, it was suddenly very quiet. He didn't like it, he looked back at the stair case. Double D was upstairs, would he be upset if he went up there?

Edd's POV

He sighed, he didn't exactly know where to start with this. Talking to his mother was a little stressful, he had never really talked to her like this before. The longest they talked was the time he was sick at home and she asked him what he wanted from the store. He smiled at the thought, though she wasn't able to stay home and take care of him, every time he was sick, she took off for a few hours to fix him up with everything he needed. Though now he could do it blindfolded.

"Very well…I guess I would start with Kevin"

She smiled, "Ah, Mr. Barr, how is he?" Edd just looked at her with a lull expression, "you are capable of using his real name, Kevin". For some reason, he got irritated when people referred to Kevin as 'Mr. Barr'. However, his mother nodded understandingly and began again, "very well then, how is Kevin?"

"Fine". Double D rubbed his eyes, well now that he was talking he was getting tired, he looked at his mother and wondered how long their conversation would take them. He quickly glanced at the time, it was a little past one thirty, and he had school tomorrow. He grimaced, he didn't like staying up past one, he need at least 7 hours of sleep. However he stayed silent, his mother was smart and he was hoping she would realize the time and send them both to bed.

There was an awkward silence for a minute or so, when finally his mother began to speak again, "Eddward, I understand Kevin is 'fine', I want to know about the two of you. You seemed….abnormally close at the hospital." She raised an eyebrow suspiciously, Edd was almost 100% sure she already knew about the two of them. He sighed, he figured she was just looking for an official answer, "we were a bit closer than most two people should be, I suppose." Talking about this subject with his mother was extremely uncomfortable for him. He had never even introduced his past girlfriends to his parents, let alone tell them he was dating anyone.

But she only smiled at him and nodded, "You're not answering my real question Eddward, I'm trying to be a mom, and moms listen and understand."

She smiled at him boldly, Eddward couldn't help but feel like she was actually trying to talk to him and help him. It was a really weird feeling, Edd never had this kind of close talk with his mother before. However, she was trying and it would be rude if he didn't give anything back. Though he didn't want to give it a shot, he could tell she was trying. It wouldn't be good on his conscious if he didn't try too.

"If you are inquiring about our relationship status, please ask presently." He knew that's what she was going to say, but he felt rather agitated talking about this subject.

"Very well, are you and Kevin dating?" Edd felt the blood rise in his cheeks at his mother's question. He quickly turned away, covering his mouth with his palm. Damn it Edd, get it together. Edd took a deep breath before looking back at her, softly nodding at her. A squeal immediately erupted from her throat. She hugged him so tight he actually question his own strength to hers.

"Oh Eddward I'm sorry! I's just, I knew he was special and I've never seen you so passionate about anyone in your life I just, oh Eddward!" She hugged him again, this time, much softer. He gently patted her on the back, she seemed a little over emotional about his situation with Kevin.

She finally pulled away, wiping tears from her eyes, "Oh Edd, I'm so sorry…" She trailed off, she suddenly looked sheepish. Eddward had never heard her call him 'Edd' in his life. It was informal and abnormal. He knew that she was sleep deprived, it had to be around 3 am now. Edd was getting tired, but he knew how important this was to his mother. He sighed and relaxed against the chair, the marble counter top was cold against his skin. It always was anyway, he barely used it, and when he did, it was always cold.

"It's quite alright, I never knew you to be so… advantageous to the idea of me and Kevin seeing each other." His elbow which was resting on the counter top began to feel numb, so he switched arms.

"Edward! You are in love!" Cassandra suddenly seemed to have much more energy now. Eddward couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her. He had never admitted it out loud, but he knew all too well she was right, he absolutely loved Kevin, everything about him, he loved him, and there was no denying it. Nonetheless, he couldn't bring himself to tell Kevin that, he was almost sure that Kevin wasn't quite at the love stage. His face fell, the idea of Kevin not being in love with him was almost suicide.

"Should that be the case, what do I do? I've already inquired another person about such a topic and was given inadequate advice." Double D couldn't help shake the depressed feeling in his gut. Why was this so hard to explain to him? He was able to understand everything given to him, was love any different or more difficult?

His mother only laughed and relaxed against her chair, "Eddward…I didn't tell you the story of how I met your father have I…?" Edd shook his head, though his face showed how disinterested he was, he couldn't help the small bit of curiosity clumping in his eyes.

She smiled, "I was a sophomore in high school and he was a senior. He was not popular or good looking, and his only friend was a junior boy name Pete. They were both top in their class, so though they were some of the smartest kinds in the school, they were not known very well, until your extremely intelligent mother came in." Edd couldn't help his face crawl into a smile, his mother hardly EVER told him stories when he was younger, and now that he was hearing one for the first time, he felt like a boy again.

"I was top in my class, and for a girl to be the smartest in her class was a big deal. This shows you how our school system and society act to different genders. Because I was top in my class and extremely pretty, I was a very popular girl." She smirked broadly, "now, our school at the time required each top student to attend certain scholastic meetings, this is where I met your father. Now this was not love at first site, because let me tell you something Eddward, your father at 18 was petrifying, I still shudder at the thought of your father as a senior in high school." She sort of shakes her head as if to get rid of a bad thought. "If anything we hated each other, he was upset because a girl was just as smart as him AND due to the fact that I was much more successful. Well, the fact that we had a quiz to find out which of the four of us were the smartest really drove him up a wall when my score was higher than his, making me the smartest in the school. Your father still gives me shit for that."

Eddward couldn't help but watch her, he had never seen his mother so loose and carefree, it was almost as if she was a kid again. He liked her like this a lot more than the way he originally knew her, strict and organized and short tongued. She continued, "Well, your father went to a very prestigious and expensive medical school halfway across the country. And after two more years of high school, I was able to win enough scholarships and grants to attend the same college as he was. Unbeknownst to me that that school was where he was attending until I started my classes there. The first day my professor introduce a student helper for his class, which was your father." She sighed heavily, "In all honesty I didn't recognize him, though he hit puberty late, it hit him good."

"MOTHER."

Her face quickly snapped back to reality, "Oh Eddward I'm sorry! I haven't been able to think about these things in so long." She frowned and looked away sheepishly before continuing, "Either way, because I didn't recognize him and because I didn't change my physical appearance very much, I fell head over in heels in love with him, where as he recognized me instantly and made it clear he wanted nothing to do with me."

"Mother, though I am intrigued with this story, I fail to see the answer to my question." She shushed him, "I'm getting to that! Well, about halfway through the semester, my professor asked for a student volunteer to help him and your father in a class experiment. He picked me and I had to assist your father. Well, he seemed to be having an off day because he accidently switched the chemicals. Yes Eddward, I took chemistry in college." Eddward immediately relaxed his face. The fact that his mother had taken such a class had caught him, and apparently his expression, off guard. She giggled at him, "Well, realizing the mistake he made, I quickly calculated how to fix the situation without the professor or any other students knowing." She smirked, "and because I was able to do it so quickly, I was able to fix the situation in no time flat." She smiled as if she had one a medal. "After the class was dismissed I went up to your father and pointed out the different chemicals he had set out."

"I feel bad really, I feel like at that time he wanted to mad at me for being able to notice something so obvious, however he only showed a very humble man who asked what he could have done to repay me. My answer still makes me smile, I told him he had to take me on a date, and that's how we began dating."

Eddward felt his emotions rising, "Mother, I-"

"Eddward dear, I am not finished." He frowned and crossed his arm very childish. However he didn't care, all he wanted was an answer and he was getting nothing.

"About a week or so into dating, WHICH is still pretty early, your father told me he loved me. I reacted by laughing." She blushed as Eddward tried to stifle a laugh. His mother laughing at his father would have been a sight to see.

"I still apologize to him to this day. However, after a WEEK he was able to say that to me, and though I laughed, I realized I loved him too. I didn't say it then, but I knew it was there. I waited two more weeks to tell your father I loved him, and for those two weeks he was an absolute wreck, he was afraid I didn't love him back. Here is my advice Eddward…"

Immediately, Edd's ear piked up. Though he was unsure he was going to get a straight answer, he couldn't help but hope for the best. "Should your father have relaxed about the whole situation and given me time, I more than likely would have told him I loved him a lot earlier than I originally did. What I'm saying is, you cannot force love, and you cannot stress over it. Your father should have trusted me to know that I would eventually tell him. You must put your trust in Kevin and allow him enough space to realize it. And, from personal experience, one of the best phrases for a relationship, is, 'if it's meant to be, it'll be'." She grinned at him dully, however Eddward could see her spark. After reminiscing her old memories, she looked happy. Exhausted, but happy.

"That genuinely helps me, thank you." Eddward wanted to think about this a lot more, however had one more question for her, "mother…what about your husband?"

She looked at him bewildered, "do you not say 'your father'?" He grimaced. "Yes I do, however sometimes I refrain from doing so due to my own personal issue."

She nodded understandably, "Of course, well, we both know your father is against it completely, however I have never seen you so happy and relaxed in all my life. Kevin is more than special and I would do anything to see you like this every day." She smiled at him, she seemed very happy tonight, and Eddward couldn't help but return the smile, "so what can we do…?"

"We can't do much…I understand how your father perceives you, and now talking to you, I understand how you perceive him. However I want you to understand your father-"

He cut her off short, "I do not wish to comprehend him I only wish for him to leave me alone." He could help the tone of his voice turn harsh. He wanted nothing to do with him.

She murmured something quietly before turning her head away, "Dear lord Eddward its past 3am! We must go to bed immediately!" She stood and began to dust herself off nervously before Eddward placed his hand on her shoulder, "Mom I understand it's late but this is important to me." Eddward didn't like acting as such, but he tried his best to look innocent and pleading. She gave him a look of defeat and relaxed, "Tell you what, bring him over tomorrow after school so I can make sure he is healing well, meet him officially, and talk to him and you about a possible solution. How does that sound?" Eddward didn't have a choice, she looked dizzy and began to slur her words as she talked, and she was beyond tired. He nodded and helped her up the stairs.

There was no goodnight between the two of them, this was the first time they went to bed at the same time, and it felt rather alien to him to have someone asleep in the next room. Eddward shut his door and changed into sleeping clothes while gently tossing his gym clothes into his laundry basket. He snuggled into his bed as thoughts of Kevin raced through his mind. The last two nights, he had been having a lot more sexual dreams about him. Eddward couldn't quite understand why, however, he didn't mind. Thinking about Kevin completely drained and covered in sweat laying beneath him really made his mornings loads better.

He had never been with another male, so his first sexual dream caught him a bit off guard, however, now it was more curiosity then anything. He knew how males worked and what they liked, he want to see how Kevin would react to his touch. It sent shivers down his spin, kissing Kevin was like half a sexual dream to him. And with each dream his curiosity and desire began to escalate. Kevin's expression, his skin, his voice, it was difficult not to think about during the day.

He was able to think about Kevin completely exposed tonight. Though it was a strange feeling to think about another male stripped, it was additionally uncanny to think about how big he would be. Usually smaller guys have a proportionally smaller genitalia. However there have been known cases where some guys beat the odds. Eddward chuckled softly, I mean, come on I'm one of those cases. He thought to himself silently. He imagined Kevin to have an average size for now, besides, size didn't matter to him anyway since he knew he'd be doing all the work. He smiled again, he wanted to be able to give Kevin such an intense and pleasurable experience, however he lacked the confidence to do so in the first place. The most he'd be able to do is think about it before sleep.

Eddward felt himself drift into sleep for a moment before waking up. He turned over to his clock to see how early he'd been awoken. 1:45, Edd pulled himself off his bed slowly. Either his clock was wrong and needed new batteries or his alarm didn't go off and it was 1:45pm. Eddward swiftly jumped out of bed and pulled aside his curtain to a bright and sunny day.

"MOTHERF-" Edd ran through his room like a tornado, swiftly changing into everyday clothes before cautiously yet rapidly flying down the stairs to his car and driving to school. He had basically missed the entire day of school, which felt like missing half of his life. As soon as he arrived, he check the messages on his phone:

Marie: Hey, no car today?

Marie: Edd are you ok? Where r u?

Kevin: You ok? Where are you?

Double D couldn't help but chuckle, those two are too close together sometimes. He quickly sent out a message to them both. Edd began walking towards the doors when his phone buzzed again. He chuckled, Kevin responded much more quickly than Marie. Over reading the message, he hastily replied, opening the door in front of him.

"Where have you been?" Marie was standing next to the door, no doubt waiting for him to show up. Double D paid her no mind while walking to class, "Sleeping." She swiftly trailed behind him, "Sleeping? When was the last time you slept till 2p.m.?"

Eddward felt his anger growing, he was hardly ever mean to Marie like this, he was just a little sleep deprived. He shooed her away yet she kept on, "why are you so persistent on something that will inevitably fail you?" She gave him a confused look. Edd almost slapped his head, "why are you following me Marie?"

She sort of shrugged, "well besides the fact that I have nothing better to do, you show up to school looking like a zombie!" Edd finally arrived at his class before turning to her.

"Marie, I overslept, I acquired a great deal of sleep, I am not drained or anything, I'm fine." She grimaced before turning away, "I know, I just worry about you and you know that." Usually when Marie said things like this, Edd would scoff and push her away, however, since he had a talk with his mother he felt a little more sensitive today. He frowned, he didn't like feeling sensitive, and that wasn't his thing. After a beat the bell rang and kids came pilling into the hall. Double D forced himself inside and to his seat. He found a cozy spot before closing his eyes. He like to rest right before his teacher came in, however he underestimated his amount of sleep he attained the night before.

He was awoken by Kevin lips on his own, he wanted to smile and kiss him back, yet he knew he was in class, and was wondering where Kevin was going with this. He shifted ever so slightly to regain feeling in his feet. Kevin paused for a moment, Double D could only hear his slight breathing. His curiosity was starting to overwhelm him, what was he doing? After a beat he felt Kevin shift, Edd had to concentrate pretty hard but he was sure he felt a gentle tug at his shirt. He focused singularly on Kevin and his touch. After a few more taps Double D was sure he understood what Kevin was doing. He tried to hide his slight grin that was growing on his face. Kevin had pulled Edd's shirt over and exposed his chest. Why he had no idea, but he liked where it was going. He heard Kevin wait before swallowing hard.

Eddward felt another movement, unsure of what it was, then heard Kevin mumble, "you can do this". He swallowed hard again and Edd felt himself hold his breath, what was Kevin doing? After a second, Edd could faintly detect a soft plush against his chest, a shiver ran down his spine, Kevin was kissing his chest. Double D found it difficult to maintain a straight face, he could feel Kevin's lips softly kissing his chest and his trembling hands on his sides. The more Kevin moved around the more difficult it was for Edd to hold still. It wasn't tickling him, it was just overwhelming emotionally. He wanted to watch him do this all day. Double D felt his breathing began to quicken as Kevin's kisses felt more relaxed. His breathing hitched and Kevin stopped. Edd shifted again and waited, hoping that Kevin would continue. He heard him grimace before continuing once again. Kevin started at the top and began to lower himself. Multiple times Edd was sure Kevin would stop however it wasn't until he was at the edge of his belly button before stopping. Double D silently sighed, knowing Kevin he wouldn't continue past his limit.

Double D opened his eyes to see Kevin staring at where he had stopped. "Don't halt, it was just getting good." Kevin shot up in an instant, Edd couldn't help but smirk at him, he had been caught red handed. He felt Kevin begin to pull away, however he was quicker. Double D quickly hitched his arm around, catching Kevin's hand and pulling him on top. Kevin's face burst with red and Edd felt his lower half hardening. Though he had a good poker face, when it came to Kevin, he seemed to always be at a loss. He quickly pulled Kevin's lips to his, he could hear him sigh. Kevin pressed into him subtly as he deepened into the kiss. Feeling Kevin's body against his own make his heart fly. Though Kevin wasn't built like him, his skin was still soft and warm, and he couldn't help a smile run across his face.

Double D pulled away and smirked at him, "pay back". He chuckled and kissed the tip of Kevin's nose. Kevin, looking somewhat please yet confused, frowned, "what for?" Kevin stood and picked up his book bag as Edd joined him, "for those soft kisses you left on my torso." Edd winked at him and held the door open. Kevin hesitated before walking through the door, "are you going to tell me WHY you are so exhausted?" Edd felt his smile disappear, it wasn't a big deal but he would rather wait to tell him.

"Yes, only if you are unrestricted at this point in time. I'd like you to come to my home." Eddward tried his best to keep a poker face, however Kevin looked at him suspiciously. He figured looking bored would be the best way to go. Instead he pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed his mothers cell phone. He had always had it however this was one of the first times he had ever used it. She answered immediately, "E-Eddward?!"

"He's not there right?" Double D couldn't help his voice sound a bit hoarse. However he heard her chuckle, "of course not Eddward." Edd opened another set of doors leading outside and Kevin walked through. "Thanks", He ended his call and began to walk toward his car. He was walking rather slowly, too much sleep can also be bad for you, he should have realized and set another alarm. Kevin seemed abnormally quiet as well. He shook his thoughts away as he held his car door open for his ginger partner. Kevin stepped inside and closed the door, Kevin seemed so sad today, even though just a moment ago he was having fun kissing his chest. Edd was happy that Kevin would be seeing his mother to dress his wound, he couldn't help his nerves peak as he turned on his car. What would she say to him, was she lying about last night? Was she lying about anything, even his father?

After a while of silence, Kevin pulled out his notes and began to read off what he had written in his class. He immediately relaxed, listening to Kevin's was very soothing, especially since Kevin was reading something he understood very well. Kevin continued to talk and his voice was starting to shake, the atmosphere hadn't changed even though Edd was relaxed. Was there something wrong with Kevin? Edd tried not to think about it as he listened to Kevin's voice continue on. After another few minutes, Edd pulled into the driveway, his nerves were suddenly back as Kevin stopped and put his notes away. He almost wanted to wait longer so Kevin would continue to talk. Edd parked the car and went to open Kevin's door for him. Kevin smiled weakly and hopped out, following him close by. Though he wasn't tense he was still a bit nervous. Eddward went to open his door before remembering he needed his keys. However it opened with ease. He stood for a moment before entering, that was odd. He had either forgotten to lock the door, or his mother had unlocked it after he left. Either way he stepped inside with Kevin close behind him.

Edd held the door open for him as Kevin stepped through the door shyly. Though it looked the same as ever, he could feel a change, it felt warmer now, perhaps his mother turned up the heat. He stifled a chuckle, it wouldn't surprise him, he often kept the house cold. Double D watched Kevin walk toward the kitchen, he was looking at everything for the first time. He seemed to love the house as he moved his eyes here and there. Edd watched him carefully, he looked tense, was he expecting the boogeyman? Double D quickly covered his mouth after realizing why Kevin was tense, he was expecting his father. He couldn't help laugh do to his correlation between the boogeyman and his father. Kevin shyly looked back at Edd who had returned to watching him intently. Kevin blushed and turned back before stopping. Edd perked up then as Kevin stopped. Did he notice something Double D didn't?

He began to walk again, looking and touching as much as he could, he seemed very interested in his kitchen which made Double D chuckle. He smiled then, he realized the smallest things Kevin did could make him smile. He looked at him softly, being with Kevin was a must, imagining not seeing him and being with him now seemed so scary and alien.

Kevin then turned back to Double D, "No dinner table?"

Edd couldn't help look confused, he figured Kevin was smart enough to realize the situation. He watched as Kevin frowned at him, obviously lost. He silently sighed, chuckling as he walked a bit closer to him, "it's just me that is dining here, and if my parents are over the island fits us all satisfactory." He smiled as Kevin's face erupted in red. Silly boy, he thought, you are smarter than you give yourself credit. After taming his face he began to walk around the island. Edd thought it a bit odd for Kevin not fitting the pieces together. No cars, no parents, no guests, why would Kevin assume his family had a dining table? He shook the thought away happily as he watched Kevin walk around his kitchen. He seemed to go slower the closer he got to him. Edd was trying to keep some distance between his ginger and himself. He wanted Kevin to explore on his own and have his own thoughts. However after walking around the island, he stopped right in front of Edd. As he stopped, Double D noticed him tense up. His senses immediately perked up, what was Kevin so tense about? Had he heard something or did he have a bad thought? Kevin began to look around wildly, and as he did a red blush began to creep up in his cheeks. It was then that Edd realized what Kevin was thinking. It took a lot for Edd to contain his laughter, however he couldn't hide the small chuckle radiate from his throat. Edd smoothly strolled over to the island as he took a seat. Carefully positioning himself on the very edge, away from Kevin. Though he wanted to be as close to Kevin as possible, his paranoia was going a bit crazy. He figured his father was watching them now or had hidden a camera somewhere.

Edd went from paranoid to protective in an instant. He heard footsteps upstairs and was next to Kevin in a second. His mother's footsteps were dainty and faint, however these footsteps sounded big and bulky, causing his protective instincts to kick in. He quickly wrapped his arms around Kevin, holding him close to him. He'd rather be next to Kevin protecting him then far away when his father appeared. He was sure Kevin was a bit flustered by the sudden movement from him, but Edd wasn't focused on that. He was listening clearly to the footsteps above him. Double D felt Kevin clutch closer to him, breaking his concentration for a split second. If only he could talk to his mother.

Eddward practically slapped himself because he wasn't thinking. He swiftly took his phone out as he dialed his mothers number again. She instantly answered, "Eddw-"

"I thought you said he wasn't here." Double D couldn't help the tone of his voice, he was more upset his mother lied to him about everything, last night, right now. Though he already didn't quite trust her, he was a bit disappointed.

"What are you talking about Eddward? Your father is at work like I said". There was a pause, neither of them said nothing.

"Is car in the driveway Eddward?" His grip loosened, how could he have forgotten something so obvious? His grip immediately loosened, "alright" and he hung up. He sighed and let go of Kevin, it was his mother upstairs, he was just being that paranoid. He heard the footsteps again however they sounded much more lady like. After a beat he heard them headed toward the stairs. What was she doing up there? She was taking so long, did she just wake up? Eddward looked back at Kevin just in time to see him start to sway. His heart began to race as he lept for Kevin, holding him upright as he fell against the island table. Kevin looked up at him disoriented, he was smiling but Edd couldn't help but look at him with such seriousness. Why was Kevin suddenly so ill?

After a beat, Eddward pulled away, returning to his natural way. Edd walked over to the counter top and relaxed against it, crossing his arms. He wasn't going to lose sight of Kevin since he almost fell over, but Edd didn't want to suffocate him. Plus his mother had approached, and he didn't want Kevin to be scared by his mother. He watched Kevin slowly look over his shoulder to see his mother standing there. Looking at her appearance he assumed she really had just woken up. She looked to be in a jogging uniform, and she did look very tired. She was smiling though, so he assumed she had slept well.

She smiled at him and gracefully walked over to him, "Kevin dear how are you?" Watching Kevin and his mother hug was a bit weird. After he pulled away Kevin looked instantly better, less stressed, it sort of made him jealous. That his mother could do that instead of him. Kevin sounded even better too, "Dr. Stevens, I'm fine thank you." She pulled away and held up her hand, "Please, call me Cassandra." She smiled at him again. She looked a little different today as well.

"Please sit, may I get you something to drink?" Kevin stopped almost immediately, "Oh, I'm alright, thank you though." Double D was watching him, Kevin seemed very nervous for some reason. Maybe because he was meeting his mother outside the work place? Observing Kevin became almost second nature to Double D by now. He wasn't staring at him intensely, he just seemed to be watching him like it was every other day. Kevin silently looked up at him, his face was read and he seemed flustered. Seeing this expression was one of his favorites. Edd smiled and winked at Kevin, who went red and turned away.

"My my you boys do have fun," Double D didn't take his eyes of Kevin as he watched the nerds face only deepen in color. His mother took a seat next to him, looking very relaxed yet tired.

"Mother," Double D sighed as he closed his eyes. He opened his mouth again to speak but his mother raised her hand to stop him, "Please Eddward, you don't need to patronize me." She smiled up at him. Edd just turned away non-chalant. It wasn't that Double D didn't want his mother saying things like that, he just didn't want Kevin to feel any more uncomfortable. He was starting to feel better around his mother, however their relationship hadn't had changed that much. Their talk last night, though thorough, was cut short. He had his head turned, he was looking away from them both, trying to concentrate on not falling asleep. He had slept for about 12 hours, however his sleep schedule was completely off. This only upset him more. If only he had gone to bed earlier, maybe things would have been different today.

"Eddward darling, do you want to go have a lie down or something? We had a long talk last night you didn't get a lot of sleep honey." Double D didn't move, his eyes just glanced over to his mother. She looked a bit concerned. That was a bit different, he only saw her give him that expression very few times over his life. He looked over at Kevin then, he didn't want to leave Kevin, he seemed scared and extremely nervous. However, when Kevin nodded in encouragement, Double D could tell he looked and felt much better. He gave in and sighed as we walked across the room, glancing at Kevin one last time. As his foot hit the first stair he stopped and turned. No way he was leaving empty handed. Even with his mother in the room, he was going to get what belonged to him. He strode back, making a B line to Kevin. Kevin perked up when he heard him approach.

"Eddw-"?

Double D's lips were on his in a flash, he wasn't thinking about his mother that was in the room, he couldn't care less really. He already knew that she was for it and that it didn't seem like a big deal to her. Kevin seemed to relax then, and Double D brought his hand up to his cheek to keep him closer. He wanted Kevin to know that even though he wasn't in the same room, he wasn't alone. Double D began to pull away, smirking in the process. Kissing Kevin always seemed to help him unwind and relax. Kevin's face was completely red, a bit shocked, but mostly happy. Eddward tore his hand and eyes away from his as he walked back to stairs and ascended them easily.

What little sleep Eddward did get was very light. He awoke to a door closing, and assumed it was his mother leaving Kevin in the kitchen. The clock had only changed 10 minutes, Double D sighed. A nap that lasted 10 minutes could hardly be called a nap. He rose from his bed and stretch, he didn't bother changing into his pajamas, which was a very unusual thing for Double D to do. He opened his door and began to descend the stairs when he stopped in his tracks. Not only was his mother's voice gone, but he heard the car in the drive way start. He quickly ran back up to look out a window. His mother was taking his car and driving away…? She was leaving, but that meant…they were alone.

"Edd what's wrong?" Kevin was off his seat now, about to walk over to him when he stopped. Edd shuffled over to him, rather timidly. Kevin's heart was speeding up, Eddward? TIMID? There was definitely something wrong. Double D was only a few inches away before Kevin threw his arms around him. He had a gut feeling that a hug would be the best thing to help him. He hated seeing Edd so shy and diverse. Kevin hugged him tightly, and after a beat, he felt Edd's own arms wrap around him. Kevin's heart stopped, Edd was being really gentle and sensual. He'd be lying if he thought Edd had hugged him like this before. There was some kind of tension tugging at him, and Kevin was having trouble grasping it. He pulled back barely to look at Edd when it finally hit him. Double D's expression completely gave him away. Kevin swallowed, Double D maybe a good liar, however he had difficulty hiding certain emotions.
