After lunch the 10 of them proceeded to make their way back to the stadium where they were all ready to start the afternoon battles. After 2 great battles between Shauntel and Tyson and then Antonio vs. Olly, Unova elite 4 member Shauntel and Olly won their way into round 3. Jamie was next set to go 1 on 1 with Volkner.

"This will be a 2 on 2 double battle. The battle will be over when 1 side's pokemon are both unable to battle. Now battle begin!" Called the ref.

"I choose Electivire and Luxray." Announced Volkner.

"I choose Rhydon and Camerupt." Said Jamie as his 2 ground types took the field.

"Jamie was right to take 2 ground types into battle." Said Brock.

"Se he's got the advantage… let's see what he does with it." Said Gary who looked interested.

Electivire ice punch on Rhydon

Electivire's fist glowed in an icy blue and charged towards the 6'03"drill pokemon.

Camerupt flamethrower

Camerupt leapt in front of Rhydon and fired fire from its mouth. Electivire was forced to stop its attack and cross its arms to block the flames.

Luxray ran behind Electivire who was still blocking the fire, and jumped to get the bite on Camerupt, only to get smacked away by hammer arm.

Camerupt eruption

Camerupt's volcano humps spewed fire up in the air and came down as a wave over Electivire and Luxray.

"This is not over yet." Said Volkner.

Luxray discharge

Luxray fired random bursts of lightning in all directions that struck Camerupt, Rhydon and Electivire but didn't affect any of them.

"That attack did not do a thing." Said Iris.

"Not true. Electivire's ability is motor drive. When hit with an electric attack it negates the damage and its speed increases." Explained the breeder.

"That's right. Volkner used that move to specifically raise the speed of the Electivire." Said Gary.

"This may be trouble for Jamie." Said Ash.

Electivire use giga impact on Camerupt

Electivire's body started to swirl with purple energy as it ran forward ad incredible speed and slammed into the eruption pokemon knocking it off its feet.

Now Luxray iron tail

Luxray's tail glew silver and swung it at Rhydon.

Quick Rhydon catch it

After Luxray hit Rhydon with its steel attack Rhydon grabbed the tail of Luxray and threw it up in the air.

Now horn drill

Rhydon's drill started to spin at a high rate while looking up at Luxray. With Luxray unable to control its movement in mid-air and Electivire recharging, Volkner could only stare in horror as Luxray was doomed.

Luxray crunch

Luxray managed to straighten out a little to be able to fall face first so it could bear its fangs at Rhydon. While Rhydon took some damage Luxray was knocked out.

"Luxray is unable to battle."

Quick Electivire ice punch

Electivire ran up to Rhydon and hit it in the side of the head as Rhydon fell to the ground unconscious.

"Rhydon is unable to battle."

Let's finish this. Camerupt use fissure.

Camerupt stood on its hind legs and stomped it's forelegs onto the field. A line of cracks appeared in the ground and was headed straight for Electivire. Once cracks appeared under Electivire. It took major damage and was knocked out instantly.

Electivire is unable to battle. Camerupt is the winner, and victory goes to Jamie of Blackthorn city."

The crowd erupted in cheers as Jamie returned his eruption pokemon back into its pokeball and walked off the battlefield.

"That was a really tense battle." Said Dawn.

"Volkner as able to regain the advantage when he raised the speed of Electivire." Observed Brock.

"Yeah but who would have known that Jamie was hiding away two 1 hit KO moves." Said Misty.

"No doubt, what a great battle." Admitted Gary.

"So now Jamie has advanced to round 3." Said Iris.

"He has had Camerupt and Rhydon for a really long time, so I'm not surprised that he won." Said Tyler.

"You know, at some point we should see a battle between you and Jamie." Said Ash to Tyler.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah come on. It would be an awesome battle." Said Ash.

"No doubt who'd win." Said Dawn.

"Oh yeah, and who's that?" Asked Tyler.

"You of course. After all you did beat 2 elite 4 members." She said.

"Good point, while Jamie tactfully beat a gym leader. You guys would make an amazing battle." Said Gary.

"Hmmm." Tyler thought to himself. "Can I really beat him?"
