The gang, along with Jamie and Barry, all made their way back to the stadium. By now the sun had gone down and stars started to fill the sky in the early night. The stadium was still filled to capacity for the final battle of the day. As the night sky took over several lights were switched on and illuminated the battlefield below. The dozen teens took their seats and were excited to see Palmer in action.

"Just you wait. My dad will show you an amazing event." Boasted Barry.

"So I've heard." Replied Dawn rolling her eyes.

"This is great! I get to see a frontier brain in action." Said Max excitedly.

"Witch we would get to enjoy if Barry will just shut up." Jamie muttered.

We have now reached the final bout of the day! The winner will move on to round 4! The crowd cheered in anticipation, and half of it was coming from Barry. And our competing trainers are… from the battle tower Palmer! And from the isle of Poketopia, Nitro!

"Nitro… Nitro… haven't we heard that name before?" Asked Ash.

"That is an unusual name." Said Jamie

"Yeah, we met him in the stands during one of the battles." Said Brock.

"Well he did say he was competing." Added Misty.

Both trainers entered from opposite ends of the battlefield. One of them was Barry's father with messy blond hair and the green trench coat. The other trainer was a young man that was 6"1 and had teal blue hair. He was 19 years old and wore a jacket, fedora and pants, all of which were jet black with silver lines on them. Both his hat and his jacket had a "P" logo on them. (All Poketopia clothing[pokemon battle revolution]).

"Yeah that's him." Said Gary.

"He's the one who told about us all about Poketopia." Reminded Tracey

Both trainers took their places at the sides of the field.

Palmer is a battle frontier brain of the battle tower and is known as the tower tycoon, while Nitro is the Poketopia champion.

"A champion?" Said Dawn and May together.

"Yeah, he is 'familiar' with that place alright." Gary said quietly. A battle brain vs. a champion. Needless to say the crowd was excited for such a match.

"This will be a 3 on 3 battle with substitutions. Let the battle begin!"

"Go Rhyperior!" Called Palmer. In front of him appeared a huge bolder shaped rock type pokemon. This was the same pokemon that had beat Ash when he faced Barry's dad back in Twinleaf town.

Despite the size of his opponent Nitro remained calm. He decided to match size with size. He responded by grasping a pokeball off of his waist and threw it up in the air. "Steelix time to enforce!"

His first pokemon was a giant snake like pokemon covered with steel. Even though Rhyperior was a big pokemon, it was towered over by Nitro's first pick.

Rhyperior use mega horn

Rhyperior's drill horn began to glow and it ran forward towards Steelix.

Iron tail

Steelix twisted its long body and swung a massive steel tail at the charging Rhyperior who has hit and knocked back several feet.

Now dig

The giant metal snake went underground and burrowed through the earth under their feet.

Rhyperior try to figure out where it is

A few moments later Steelix came up under Rhyperior and knocked it in the air and landed flat on its back.

*Grrr, this trainer ain't half bad.* Though Palmer.

Rhyperior get up and use rock polish

Rhyperior's body started to glow bright. Nitro decided to take this opportunity for another free shot

Dragon breath

Steelix opened its mouth and shot a green colored stream at the rock type who was hit once again.

Now megahorn

Rhyperior tried to use its horn again and ran at the metal snake. However Rhyperior was too fast this time and slammed into Steelix.

Dragon breath

Steelix repeated the same move and hit Rhyperior once again. This time Rhyperior cringed and was sparking with electricity.

"There we go." Said Nitro with a smirk as he had paralyzed Rhyperior.

Palmer realized that he was in a bad spot and made a decision.

"Rhyperior return." He said as he called back his pokemon. Palmer grabbed another ball and chose his 2nd pokemon. "I choose Milotic!"

On Palmer's side appeared another snake like pokemon, though it was not nearly as big as Steelix.

Hydro pump

Milotic shot a powerful stream of water from its mouth that hit Steelix right on the underside of its head causing lots of damage to the part ground type.

Counter with dig

Steelix burrowed underneath the battlefield again and was now nowhere to be seen.

Now Steelix

The water snake positioned itself above the enormous hole the Steelix had dug and was ready to launch a powerful blast of water. It opened its mouth but was met with a face full of dragon breath. Steelix had fired the dragon attack while it was still underground. Palmer was shocked that Steelix had responded so quickly.

"I see, so that dig was a trap." Said Gary.

"Really?" Asked May.

"But the only way to attack a pokemon underground is to attack through the hole." Said Dawn.

"A predictable but effective maneuver." Said Tyler.

"Exactly. What else was he supposed to do?" Asked Dawn.

"That's the point. He did it because it's predictable. He used dig because he knew if he did Palmer would have Milotic attack through the hole." Explained Gary.

"And so Nitro knew exactly where Milotic was going to be at that moment. With this he was able to get a clean hit on Milotic and get the upper hand in the battle." Finished Brock.

"Come on dad don't blow this!" Screamed Barry.

Before Milotic could regain its composure the ground underneath started to rumble and Steelix resurfaced and slammed into Milotic on the way up.

The crowd was genuinely impressed by the performance of the Poketopia champion. He had come up with some very clever combinations while Palmer had been falling behind the whole battle, struggling to keep up.

Now crunch

The steel snake then launched forward and sunk its massive jaw into Milotic.

Recover

Milotic's body started to glow as energy began to replenish throughout its body.

Iron tail

Steelix brought its glowing tail down on Milotic during the recovery. Being a steel attack it was not very effective but the damage was still there.

"Man this guy does not let up." Gary spoke.

"Palmer has been backpedalling this whole time." Said Jamie.

"This guy is awesome!" Cheered Max.

"THE HELL HE IS!" Screamed Barry. "Come on dad, beat him!"

Ice beam

Milotic fired 3 blue streams at the lower body of Steelix, freezing most of its tail in place.

Now dragon pulse

Milotic fired a purple ball of energy this time while Steelix can't move.

Dragon breath

Steelix shot back with another dragon attack. Since dragon was super effective on dragon and dragon pulse was a one force attack, dragon breath blasted through Milotic's move and landed yet another hit.

Attract

Several pink hearts flew over to Steelix when Milotic winked at it. The hearts engulfed Steelix and absorbed into its body. Steelix now was unwilling to attack the water snake.

Now use hydro pump

Steelix couldn't move due to the ice and wouldn't attack and so was hit by a powerful stream of water and fell backwards till it hit the ground.

"Steelix is unable to battle, the winner is Milotic."

Nitro simply returned his fallen pokemon to its ball for some rest. "Who's side are you on?" He joked as he shook his head to himself.

"Finally!" Screamed Barry.

"I've got to give him some credit. He fought back even when Steelix was frozen in place." Admired Gary.

"So now Palmer is up 3-2." Said Dawn excitedly.

"That's what it seems, but the stamina of some of the pokemon may disagree." Tracey told her.

"My dad is winning so keep your opinions to yourself." Barry said seething.

"Infernape time to enforce!" Called Nitro as he sent out a fire monkey.

"This should be an easy win for Palmer." Noted May

"A type disadvantage huh? This is the time Palmer should be concerned." Said Gary.

Thunder punch

Infernape ran forward at incredible speed and hit Milotic with an electric fist.

Dragon pulse

Close combat

Infernape barley dodged it and hit Milotic with quick and several punches, kicks and elbows and knees.

"Milotic is unable to battle, Infernape is the winner."

"Damn that was quick." Said Jamie.

"NO! Dad come on." Whined Barry.

"Nitro bet that battle on Infernape's speed." Said Brock.

"And that thunderpunch." Added Misty.

"Like I said, every right to be concerned." Gary said to no one in particular.

"Come on out Rhyperior!" Rhyperior was summoned to the battlefield once more.

Earthquake

Rhyperior stomped on the ground to cause vibrations in the earth, but by then Infernape had jumped high into the air avoiding the attack.

Flamethrower

Infernape shot flames from midair that made direct contact with Rhyperior.

Rock wrecker

Rhyperior tried to execute its next move, but it froze and started to spark with electricity.

Close combat

Infernape tried to take advantage of Rhyperior's paralysis and started a second beat down on Rhyperior.

"Rhyperior is unable to battle, Infernape is the winner."

Palmer was down to his last pokemon and he knew if nothing else, he would not give up without a fight.

"Dragonite come on out!"

Palmer's last pokemon was a big bellied orange dragon with small wings.

Dragon dance

Dragonite did a few midair maneuvers to raise its attack and speed.

Thunder punch

Infernape jumped up again and preformed a semi-effective thunder punch.

Dragon claw

Dragonite raked the fire monkey with its claws forcing Infernape back to the ground.

Dragon dance again

Dragonite raised its stats even higher.

Flamethrower

Nitro decided to play it a little more cautiously and had Infernape fire from a distance.

Thunder wave

Dragonite let loose small strands of electricity that instantly paralysed Infernape.

Now aerial ace

Dragonite's body was covered in white streaks as it charged at its adversary.

Blaze kick

Nitro decided a head on counter attack was the only chance Infernape had to save itself. The 2 attacks collided head on that kicked up some dust on the field. When the dust settled it was revealed that Nitro was wrong because Infernape fainted anyway.

Dragonite was standing tall but then suddenly growled in pain witch worried its trainer. This was not good for Palmer. Dragonite was burned.

After returning Infernape Nitro slightly smiled to himself. He was also wishfully thinking he could inflict a status ailment at the last minute and luck had come through for him. Dragonite was hurt and burned but was still carrying the stat boosts so he still had to be careful. He only had 1 pokemon left to get the job done.

"Dragonite time to enforce!"

Nitro's final pokemon was also a Dragonite, however there would be no problem identifying witch Dragonite was witch as Nitro's Dragonite was a shiny Dragonite. Instead of orange skin his Dragonite was a green colour. Everyone was amazed at a rare shiny Dragonite.

Hurricane

Nitro tried to get an attack in quick as his Dragonite flapped its wings and powerful gusts of wind billowed across the battlefield as the orange Dragonite was forcefully pushed back.

Aerial ace

The orange Dragonite cut through the wind with a flying attack of its own and slammed into the other Dragonite. Just then the burn effect appeared again as the orange Dragonite was surrounded in fire.

Fire punch

The green Dragonite hit the other with another fire attack only adding to the orange Dragonite's burns.

Both Dragonites were ordered to do the same move and flew into each other while covered in a dragon like aura. The field was shrouded in smoke from the after effects of the attack. In the centre 1 Dragonite stood tall, while the other had had enough.

"Palmer's Dragonite is unable to battle, Nitro's Dragonite wins, and the victory goes to Nitro!"

The audience cheered in appreciation for a spectacular battle. There were cheers of congratulations for the winning trainer Nitro and more for his rare shiny Dragonite.

"That was a great battle. I learned a lot from just watching." Said Dawn.

"He'll defiantly be tough to beat." Brock told them.

"He better be! Now that he has beat my dad he's not allowed to lose to anyone else." Said Barry.

"I'm defiantly now a fan of his." Said Max.

"Maybe, but there is no way he could beat my Dragonite." Bragged Iris.

"Maybe you guys could convince him to train you." Gary directed at Tyler and Ash.

"Very funny Gary." Ash replied.

"I mean you need all the help you can get." Gary teased.

"Garrrrrry!" Ash said angrily.
