"Gallade, let's go!" Tyler called out as he threw a pokeball out on the field. The blade Pokémon took its stance on the field as it stood opposed to Metagross. The two psychics lock eyes, ready to do battle.
"Gallade huh?" Jamie said to himself.
Use bullet punch
Metagross pulled its iron legs up off the ground and quickly levitated over to Gallade with a silver glowing leg. Gallade's quick reflexes weren't fast enough as it was hit before it could do anything.
Use night slash
While Metagross was close range, Gallade cut across its face with its dark glowing forearm.
Close combat
The psychic fighter then pounded away on the iron leg Pokémon in a relentless assault.
Counter with hammer arm
Metagross raised a red glowing leg and swung to get Gallade off of it. The blade Pokémon managed to duck underneath it and get a few more shots in before jumping back for its next attack.
Use psycho cut
Gallade swung its right arm around and fired a crescent of psychic energy and struck the heavy steel Pokémon.
Zen headbutt
Metagross charged forth with another psychic attack and completely overpowered Gallade.
Now meteor mash
The iron leg Pokémon, living up to its name, followed up with a powerful steel type attack.
Leaf blade
Gallade had the advantage, in terms of agility, between the two. So just like with Bisharp, Gallade ducked under the steel type's attack and cut across Metagross's surface.
Now night slash
Tyler immediately followed up with a super effective attack.
Use bullet punch
Metagross fired back with its speed attack and did even more damage to the psychic fighter.
Close combat
Gallade got ready to lay another beat down on its opponent.
Zen headbutt
Metagross rammed Gallade as soon as they made contact, but Gallade didn't give up. It ran up and followed through with its attack and left Metagross, legs and all, sprawled out on the field.
"Metagross is unable to battle. The winner is Gallade." Riley returned his steel type and readied another one to take its place.
"Alright Lucario. I need your help." Riley's next Pokémon was his aura partner Lucario.
"There's Lucario." Said Dawn.
"It's okay. Gallade has the advantage because of type." Max said.
"Maybe, but Gallade's taken a number of hits already. That's going to play a factor in Gallade's odds of winning." Brock explained.
Gallade, psycho cut
The blade Pokémon started off by shooting crescents of energy at Lucario.
Use extreemspeed
In the blink of an eye Lucario was far out of the way of Gallade's attack. Gallade started looking around just as it was slammed from behind by the aura Pokémon.
Close combat
Bone rush
Gallade spun around to retaliate on the aura Pokémon, but Lucario managed to block every one of those punches that Gallade tried to inflict by using a materialized bone shaped staff.
Psycho cut
The blade Pokémon jumped up and fired multiple crescents that rained down from above.
Close combat
After taking the hit, Lucario jumped up to Gallade and issued a beat down on the psychic type and threw it down into the field. But thanks to its type it wasn't as effective as Riley would've liked it to be.
Use leaf blade
Gallade ran forth ready to slash the aura Pokémon.
Blaze kick
Right as Gallade lunged forward Lucario's right foot started bursting with flames. It raised its foot and kicked in the chest of the blade Pokémon (right above the fin) before making contact with leaf blade. Gallade flew back and crashed into the field.
"Gallade is unable to battle. The winner is Lucario."
Tyler returned his faithful fighting type. He had hoped that since Gallade was carrying the momentum from its victory over Bisharp, that it would give it a confidence boost needed to excel in this battle. Either way, Gallade was still able to defeat Metagross, which is a lot less worry for him. With pride for his Pokémon Tyler returned Gallade's ball to his belt and grabbed another one face off against Lucario.
"Go Charmeleon!"
The 3'7 fire lizard appeared ready for action. The crowd sounded with an explosion of cheers for the same Pokémon who earlier had taken down Caitlin and Gothitelle. Jamie could be seen in the stands, wincing at the sudden outburst of the spectators, as they applauded for the evolved Kanto starter.
With a snort of its nostrils it looked across at Lucario, definitely confident it could take him.
"Lucario, return." Riley, knowing the type disadvantage, recalled Lucario and decided to use his third Pokémon instead.
"I choose you, Salamence!" Riley's last Pokémon was a salamander looking dragon with large, flat red wings and intimidating roar.
"A Salamence eh? I might've underestimated this Riley character." Jamie said as he looked intrigued by the rare dragon Pokémon.
"Do you think Tyler's chances just went down the drain?" Asked Kate who was still sitting beside him.
"No. I believe he still has a chance of winning. Charmeleon on the other hand…" He said putting his thumb to his lip. "… I'm not so sure.
Tyler knew that his fire type had the clear advantage against Lucario, but it was a different story now that Salamence had taken to the field. He did know about dragon types after all, so he was thinking he would fight dragon-with-dragon, and recall Charmeleon.
But before he could carry out his plan of action, he looked to see the flame Pokémon turn and give him a thumbs-up. Tyler knew that on paper, Charmeleon was outmatched here, but also knew just as well that as far as Charmeleon was concerned, the Charizard family was a dragon type in all but a technicality. Besides, it already had a dragon type move under its belt, and was raring and ready to take on Riley's ace.
Charmeleon, flamethrower
The fire lizard drew its head back and launched a stream of fire from its mouth over at Salamence.
Dodge it
Salamence took to the sky and floated over the flames.
Now crunch
The dragon Pokémon came back down, bearing its fangs against the fire type.
Metal claw
Charmeleon's claws extended in a silver light and crossed them in front of its self to block Salamence's attack.
Flamethrower
Once again Charmeleon started to spit flames, at close range this time, and seared the face of Salamence.
Now dragon claw
This time Charmeleon took to the offensive and slashed Salamence with a super effective attack.
Use your dragon claw
Salamence drew its claws, ready to strike.
Dragon claw again
The flame Pokémon countered by using the same move. As the two attacks collided Salamence was able to over power and throw back Charmeleon, but Charmeleon's attack was super effective on Salamence, so the damage was probably equal.
Use metal claw
Charmeleon ran up with silver glowing claws aiming to get the upper hand.
Fly up
Salamence took to the air again and circled back over Charmeleon.
Use crunch
This time the dark attack wasn't blocked as the dragon Pokémon flew in from behind and sunk its teeth into the lizard's tail. Charmeleon cried out in pain as Salamence chomped down on it.
Now dragon claw
Salamence then drew back its right arm, and slashed across Charmeleon with blue glowing claws as it flew past it.
Flamethrower
The flame Pokémon spun around and launched another searing attack on the type resistant Salamence as it was hit in the back while trying to ascend.
"Charmeleon is at a clear disadvantage in this battle." Gary said.
"Yeah, and not just about type. Salamence has an aerial advantage as Charmeleon is stuck on the ground." Tracey elaborated.
"Then why isn't Tyler switching?" Asked Dawn.
"Charmeleon may be tough, but it can't beat a dragon type like this." Said Iris.
"Tyler may be betting on its toughness to preserver through a battle with Salamence." Ash thought.
"Well he was beaten two elite 4 members. We just need to have faith that Tyler knows what he's doing." Told Brock
Crunch
Salamence turned back around and flew straight down towards Charmeleon.
Block with metal claw
Once again the flame Pokémon crossed its claws in front of its self to shield its self from the fangs of the dragon as it bit down on the claws. Riley smiled like he was anticipating this.
Thunder fang
With the metal claw in its teeth, Salamence's mouth sparked with electricity and sent a painful electric current through its teeth to the claws and to Charmeleon.
Use flamethrower
Charmeleon retaliated and sent a close range fire attack into the face of Salamence as it backed off.
Fire fang
Using some of the flamethrower, Salamence actually bit down on it and kept some of the fire in its mouth to power up the strength of its fire fang.
Dragon claw
As Salamence flew back at Charmeleon, the flame Pokémon used its own dragon attack to meet the dragon Pokémon in a head-on confrontation. This time the power was about equal and eventually both sides backed off at the same time, but both were looking wobbly.
Use blast burn
Charmeleon tried to end it with its most powerful move and shot the highly concentrated ball of fire at Salamence.
Dodge and use dragon claw
The dragon flew around the fire ball and slashed across Charmeleon with its own dragon attack. Charmeleon was laid out, on its back, on the battlefield as it was unable to continue.
"Charmeleon is unable to battle. The winner is Salamence." Tyler's friends looked on with anticipation and anxiety. He was down 2-1 and had only one Pokémon left to defeat Salamence and Lucario. As far as the fans in the bleachers knew, he also had a Houndoom, Sceptile, Lapras and Zoroark in his possession. Riley knew this too and was sure that between Salamence and Lucario, they could beat any of them.
Tyler returned his fire starter and looked back at Riley and Salamence with a look saying 'I'm far from going down yet.'
"Go Flygon!" Tyler's most trusted and experienced partner took to the field and the crowd cheered in anticipation of the two dragon types going at it.
"Yay! Two dragon types battling it out head to head!" Cheered Iris excitedly.
"Eeww!" Cheered the tusk Pokémon along with her.
"So unless Flygon can beat Salamence and then Lucario, Tyler will be eliminated." Said Misty.
"Who cares? I want to see what this Flygon can do." Said Gary, showing his excitement for once.
Use dragon claw
Riley was eager to land the first attack as Salamence followed his command and flew right at Flygon.
Counter with your dragon claw
Flygon responded with the same attack. The two his head on, but since Flygon was stronger and fresher, Salamence was overthrown by force.
Now fire blast
Flygon followed up with a five star blast of fire shooting towards Salamence.
Crunch
Salamence dodged the attempted attack and came right back at the mystic Pokémon to bit down on the front of its torso.
Draco meteor
As the dragon Pokémon backed off, Flygon shot a orange ball of dragon type energy up into the sky.
Fire fang
Salamence quickly circled around and bared its flame covered jaw and sunk its teeth into Flygon. At this point the orange ball of energy exploded in the sky and rained down on Salamence. The dragon was unable to dodge it this time as the Draco meteors fell, bringing Salamence down along with it.
"Salamence is unable to battle. Flygon is the winner."
Flygon stood proud at its victory. Suddenly the mystic Pokémon burst into flames and cried out in pain, surprising some of the spectators. Tyler grit his teeth as he knew what this meant.
"Wait, what happened? What's wrong with Flygon?" Kate asked Jamie worried and confused.
"That last fire fang… Salamence must've burned it." Jamie deduced.
"So Flygon is just going to keep bursting into flames for the rest of the battle?"
"Yep. The pressure is on, for both of them." Kurt said looking on at Tyler and Flygon. The fans kept their attention to the field as the final battle was about to begin.
"Lucario, I need your help!" Riley cried as he recalled his partner to the field.
"This is it." Said Ash with a hint of excitement.
Use dragon claw
Flygon jumped first as it charged towards the aura Pokémon
Lucario blaze kick
Lucario met the dragon half way as the two collided centre field, both with not very effective hits.
Fire blast
Flygon shot a five pointed fire attack at the susceptible steel type.
Extreemspeed
Lucario used its priority attack to dodge around the fire and slam into Flygon.
Use dragon claw
Flygon's claws started to glow in a blue light.
Use close combat
Flygon and Lucario charged right at each other, meeting each other move for move, neither side willing to give the other the upper hand. After the montage of physical hits, Flygon once again caught fire as the burn effect continued to do damage.
Blaze kick
Riley just kept pouring on the fire as the, already flame encased dragon, was smacked with even more firepower as Lucario kicked the mystic Pokémon with its fire leg.
Fire blast
Since Flygon was covered in fire, why shouldn't Lucario be? The dragon came back with its own fire attack and shot fresh flames over at Lucario.
Bone rush
Lucario materialized its bone and twirled it in front of its self like a baton and dispersed the fire stream.
Draco meteor
Tyler tried to attack from another angle as the dragon type shot another ball of orange energy skyward.
Close combat
The aura Pokémon ran up and delivered several punches and kicks to the dragon before it then burst into flames again. Lucario backed off as the orange ball in the air exploded into several meteors.
Dodge it with extreemspeed
As Flygon struggled to remain on its feet, Lucario started to move quickly across the battlefield as it tried to dodge every single one of the meteor blasts. But Riley and Lucario were too busy avoiding the attack to be ready for what was coming next.
Earthquake
Flygon stomped down with its right foot and sent multiple shockwaves across the field that threw Lucario off balance and caused a lot of damage to the steel type. As fast as extreemspeed was, it couldn't dodge that. Lucario doubled over in pain as the shockwaves ceased.
Now fire blast
Flygon gathered all the strength it could muster and once again fired the five point blast in Lucario's direction. The aura Pokémon didn't have the strength to move out of the way as the fire approached. The fans looked on in awe as Lucario's position exploded in an inferno of firepower. Once the fire settled the battle was over.
"Lucario is unable to battle. Flygon is the winner, and victory goes to Tyler of Blackthorn city!" The crowd erupted in loud cheers at the official's announcement. The 'conqueror' would live to fight another round.
So, this is it. Sorry this one took so long. Been having some annoying computer issues. But now that it's resolved I want to get some feedback on how the story's going so far. What you like, what you don't like. I'm interested in these things.
