Lenny's POV
The day of the battle of the bands came up quickly, and me, Mike and Lanes were ready with our main song and two back up songs for encores. The Heart Killer's and other bands would be performing after us so Mayor Mellow made it because we're the newest people in town, we go last. After setting up and realizing that the other bands were ready also I scanned the crowd to see the gang wearing newly updated Toxic Sirens t-shirts. The only thing that I noticed was weird about them is that Corey and Carrie had black beanies on that had our symbol on it instead of their signature ones. I then noticed a majority of people either had our t-shirts on or what I could guess is The Heart Killer's. "Hello Peaceville's Music lovers!" A teenage girl that seemed to be a fan of ours yelled into a megaphone. "Welcomes to the 10th annual Summer Bash Battle of the Bands! This year we have two bands The Heart Killer's and The Warrior Angels!" The crowd started to scream for their favorite bands. "And lastly, my favorite band of the night, all the way from California! The Toxic Sirens!" People started to scream louder. "Let's get this show on the road shall we? First up are The Heart Killer's!" I looked over to see that The Heart Killer's was made up of two boys and three girls with the lead singer being a boy with blonde hair having no instrument started to jump up and down as his band mates played.
Could you check my pulse for me
After the first line of the song I knew that the song they were playing was from Sleeping with Sirens, a band me and Lanes looked up to while growing up. What's up with one of the most loved bands is just a cover band?
To see if I'm alive
Cause every time that I am near you
Is the only time I feel alright
If there were any way
I could think to turn back time
I'd stay here with you
Sometimes I sit and wonder
Sometimes I feel like letting go
All I know is no one should have to be alone
I don't want to be alone
I don't want to die alone
I could fall apart here and now
I don't want to die alone
I want to be with you, you, you
I only want to be with you, you, you
Tell me what's the point of life
Is it material?
Had everything I could ever want and probably more
When I lay in bed at night
All I do is think of you
So when all this is gone what do I have to come home to?
This life goes by so fast
Pretty soon I'll grow old
What would I have but some stories now that I have told
No one to share them with
And when it's all done
What am I left with?
Tell me what's left
I don't want to be alone
I don't want to die alone
I could fall apart here and now
I don't want to die alone
The guy next to the singer started to rap MGK's part. They guy didn't match so it seemed that they were trying to make the song their own.
Leave me?
How the fuck you gonna leave me?
When I'm the one that's on TV
With these girls screaming
Outside with my CD
And I'm begging?
Naw baby, you're the one that can't keep me
Leave me?
Girl how the fuck you gonna leave me?
You know I love you, when we fight and we argue
I kiss and I hug you
You push me back, you say that I'm trouble
But every Bonnie got a Clyde with her
Every woman needs somebody that's gonna ride with her
And I can't go on staying alive if I'm alone
Pick up the phone and say hello
I'd rather die with her
Now my night's so cold
When your heart is frozen
Mine's exposed you know this
Try to blame the fame for the way I've changed
And you know those claims are bogus
Baby it's not me, it's us
Maybe now all we need is trust
Maybe this Hennessy will solve our problems
Baby pick it up
I don't want to be alone
I don't want to die alone
I could fall apart here and now
I don't want to die alone
I don't want to be alone
I don't want to die alone
I could fall apart here and now
I don't want to die alone
Could you check my pulse for me
To see if I'm alive
Carrie's POV
It seemed that The Heart Killer's didn't think twice on going easy on Lens,Laney, and Mike. Every one in the town loves Sleeping With Sirens song with MGK. At least we know by now The Warrior Angels usually give up by now and leave. As I turned my head to the stage where they were appose to be, I was right. They must of ran off when they noticed the song. "Seems like The Warrior Angels had there wings in between their legs and left." Most of the crowd laughed at the teenage announcer. "Now for the last band of the night, The Toxic Sirens!"
Lenny's POV
"Time to shine." I whispered to my siblings before the stage light shined on us. "Hey rock-stars! This is a new song that we wrote so I hope you guys and gals enjoy it as much as we do! Mike?" My brother tapped his new drum sticks smiling. "One, two, three four!" As Mike lead us in with a bass drum beat I mustered as much emotion I could for my voice. After that, I played my guitar and sang with Laney following on bass.
Thanks for treating me like every boy you meet
So please come in and take a seat
Here's the part when I learn, and you will teach
On how to treat people like a piece of meat
I want a genuine, not a replica
Lethal medicine, a pin to the cornea
A sight for sore eyes
While other guys consume the lie, I'll run and hide
No doors exist on my fortress
The only entrance is the one I bear
You're nothing more than a temptress
I fell victim to a heartless snare
Burn the bitch down
I never will cross that bridge again
I cannot trust you easily
Or think that I'm the only one
I never let people in, and I have you to remind me why
So baby burn the bitch down
I never will cross that bridge again
I'd rather drown
I'm the master of construction
Because I'm building walls like it's my occupation
If you portray a liar, I'll shut you out without hesitation
It's an art form of consummate skill
Of how she plays them like the pawn
Making boys drool at her will
Like Pavlov to the dogs
No doors exist on my fortress
The only entrance is the one I bear
You're nothing more than a temptress
I fell victim to a heartless snare
Burn the bitch down
I never will cross that bridge again
I cannot trust you easily
Or think that I'm the only one
I never let people in, and I have you to remind me why
So baby burn the bitch down
I never will cross that bridge again
I'd rather, I'd rather, I'd rather
Drown me, slit my throat so lightly
Pick me up and drop me right into my grave
And now I wonder, sit alone and ponder
Should I even bother, when I see your face?
The itch I couldn't scratch
But I'd come crawling back but now
I'd much rather, rather, rather, rather, rather
I'd rather burn the bitch down
I never will cross that bridge again
I cannot trust you easily
Or think that I'm the only one
I never let people in, and I have you to remind me why
So baby burn the bitch down, I never will cross that bridge again
Go ahead and burn the bridge right down, it's what you wanted
Burn the bridge right down
I'm not the only one, the only one
So baby burn the bitch down, I never will cross that bridge again
I'd rather drown
Laney's POV
Everyone acted like the first battle of the bands. Cheering, yelling, and holding up newly made fan posters. I smiled as the teenage announcer asked us for an encore. "Sure! Lenny?" He smiled. "The next song is a song I wrote earlier this week. It's called intoxicated. I haven't worked much of it out yet but I think it's about time you guys and gals get to hear it."
Lenny's POV
I played a small intro on my guitar as I began to sing with Laney jumping in on her bass with Mike.
.And I, think you're from another world,
and I, I couldn't love another girl,
cause you, you make me feel like I'm intoxicated.
In a room full of frozen faces,
and a moment of fractured time,
we eclipse in a conversation,
as the words, they pass us by.
With you, we could be the only ones here.
..cause I, think you're from another world,
and I, I couldn't love another girl.
cause you, you make me feel like I'm intoxicated, toxicated.
To the sky, flying high, take me to the moon,
day or night, we don't have to say a word,
cause you make me feel like I'm intoxicated, toxicated.
Your eyes like a shot of whiskey,
warms me up like a summer night.
Can you tell that I need ya with me?
Let me drink you down tonight.
No I don't just want any pretty face,
wanna wake up next to yours each day.
Baby, won't you be my saving grace tonight, tonight?
With you, we could be the only ones here.
..cause I, think you're from another world,
and I, I couldn't love another girl.
cause you, you make me feel like I'm intoxicated, toxicated.
To the sky, flying high, take me to the moon,
day or night, we don't have to say a word,
cause you make me feel like I'm intoxicated, toxicated.
Feel like I black out, pass out,
everytime that we touch.
..and if it hurts in the morning,
then it must be love.
I want your heart, baby,
straight no chaser.
I wanna feel it in my head,
when I wake up. (When I wake up)
..and I, think you're from another world,
and I, I couldn't love another girl,
cause you, you make me feel like I'm intoxicated, toxicated.
To the sky, flying high, take me to the moon,
day or night, we don't have to say a word,
cause you make me feel like I'm intoxicated, toxicated.
To the sky, flying high, take me to the moon,
day or night, we don't have to say a word,
cause you make me feel like I'm intoxicated, toxicated.
..and I, think you're from another world,
and I, I couldn't love another girl,
cause you, you make me feel like I'm intoxicated.
"It seems like we have our winners! The 10th annual Summer Bash Battle of the Bands is, The Toxic Sirens!" Everyone in the crowd cheered and yelled excitedly, especially the gang. We ran off stage after a quick, "Rock on Peaceville!" and rejoined the gang. It was all worth the hard work.
Sorry if some of this didn't make sense, I had my shots today and it kinda messed up my typing skills. Anyway here's another over 2,000 word chapter! :D Hoped you enjoyed it and stay musical!
