Hey everybody,

a new chapter just for you! Hope you like it!

Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own Once upon a Time, just the crazy ideas in my head that I incorporated into this story!

Chapter 42

Felix's POV:

Pan had told me to wait at this designated spot, in the middle of the jungle. The shadow would drop Baelfire some time soon. As I leaned against a nearby tree, I thought about something that had been seriously bothering me.

I noticed how our leader had been acting weirdly the past day; zoning out of reality, visions flashing before his eyes. Afterwards, a smug and satisfied grin would tug at the ends of his mouth and he seemed quite happy. Nothing to be alarmed by.

Only when he started asking me about a girl with golden hair did I think something was wrong. When I mentioned Wendy, since she was the only girl on the island who fit his description, he told that wasn't who he meant. I could only frown. Who was he talking about?

Pan explained, instead of having his "normal" visions; sightings of the future, he had been only seeing pleasant memories of a girl with viridian eyes. It was as if time stood still in those memories.

Suddenly, a form landed on the ground. This wasn't a Lost One that had played amongst others, this was a grown-up.

'Welcome home, Baelfire.' I quickly proceeded forward and wrapped his hands with a rope Pan had provided.

'Come along, Pan is waiting.' Nudging him forward, I walked behind him along one of the paths to camp.

'Feels like just yesterday I welcomed you to Neverland the first time, Baelfire. Got to say; hoped I'd never see you again.'

'Well, maybe Pan shouldn't have taken my son.'

'Maybe you should've left well enough alone.' I swung my club around a couple times.

'I'm gonna get him back.'

'You really believe that? You were a Lost Boy, you know Peter Pan is not to be trifled with. You know know how long he has been searching for the Heart of the Truest Believer. Do you really believe he'll just...give him up?'

'Maybe, if I ask nicely.'

'You may have grown up Baelfire,' I almost chuckled, 'but it would appear you have grown up stupid.'

'I have grown up. I don't know if I'm stupid or not, but I do know how to tie an overhand knot.' And with that, he knocked me out, darkness taking over my vision.

Before I had a chance to finish my sentence, the girl with the golden hair jumped up and wrapped her arms around me.

'I am sorry I was the reason father treated you like that! Everyone deserves to feel loved. Father may not have loved you, but I do. But the past is in the past and we can't change that. What's important is now we are together again. As brother and sister.'

'Together,' I repeated.

We stayed in the embrace, finally united as siblings.

Shadow's POV:

Once again, I took in Belle's form, someone the Dark One would recognize, and approached him. He fell for it the first time, why not a second time?

'You've always felt more comfortable behind a mask.' I enjoyed playing her role, walking in her body, speaking in her voice.

'You were the only one who could ever see past it. Past the mask of the monster.'

'Then why put it back on now?'

'I need the monster now, Belle. It's the only way I can save him. And that's what I've decided; I'm going to save Henry.'

'The prophecy states Henry will be your undoing, to save him will only ensure your own death.' Pan had informed me of the Dark One's undoing, stating it wouldn't be Henry, but himself that would put an end to Rumplestiltskin, his own brother.

You will be reunited with your son and it will come in a most unexpected way. A young boy will lead you to your son, but beware Rumplestiltskin, that boy is more than he appears. He will need you. Do what you seek, but there will be a price, the boy will be your undoing.

This couldn't harm Pan. But there was another prophecy that could jeopardise me.

The Heart that will heal the hurt. A heart that will change fate's design. A heart to save what is lost. Whoever owns this heart would be the most powerful in all realms. It will be the purest magic, it will shine when it is near its other half. An angel with golden hair and viridian green eyes will overpower the blackness in its True Love's heart. It will overcome the evil.

If Pan should see Aura again, his old powerful feelings would resurface and I would be done for. There would be no single bad thought in his mind, not with that goodie-goodie in his presence. I needed to stop that love-sick fool. I needed to survive.

Peter's POV:

With the magical flute in my hand, I walked over to Henry, who wasn't dancing along. Rather, he was sitting alone on a log, not even interested in participating.

'Don't want to join in on the celebration, Henry?'

'Nothing to celebrate.' He easily dismissed.

'Nothing to celebrate? Henry, this whole party is to celebrate you.'

'Me? Why?'

'Cause you have come to save magic, of course.' I answered as if it were the most obvious thing ever.

'And I for one can't think of a reason more deserving of a celebration than that. Just look at them.' Motioning to the Lost Boys who were dancing around the fire, making music with their sticks, I tried to get Henry interested.

'I'm not like them. Or you.'

'Sure you are! You're still a boy. Maybe a song will get you on your feet.' As I uttered the words, I held my pipes to my lips and began to blow a simple melody.

Henry shook his head. 'Sorry, I can't hear anything.' I thought we would already be past this point.

'Interesting. You see, this pipe is enchanted. It can only be heard by certain children.'

'Like who?' I looked over to my Lost Ones, and saw Felix approaching camp; alone.

'You'll find out soon enough.I promise.' Standing up, I walked over to my second-in-command, who was eyeing me almost sheepishly.

'What? I know what look! What happened?'

'Baelfire. I'm afraid he got away.'

'Why didn't you get him back?' My anger was about to spill, I could feel it bubbling inside of me.

'I tried. I followed his trail and found two of our Lost Boys knock out. By a sleeping spell,' he said in his monotone voice.

Quickly putting this together, I grinned. 'The Dark One. So father and son have been reunited'

'They're coming for the boy. We should move him somewhere safe.' Felix motioned to Henry, still sitting alone on the log.

'Now, now. Where is your sense of adventure? We can't end the party when the fun is just about to begin.'

As I sat near the fire, enjoying the heat is was emitting, the shadow's thoughts came into my mind. He was, after all, still part of me and could reach me in my head even when he wasn't physically around. This time, it was something about prophecies and the girl with golden hair. A new memory hit me as I thought about the beauty with the green eyes.

Making my instrument magically appear, I placed the pipe below my lip and with a slight smile began to blow across the top of the flute. The last time I had played, the music was so beautiful and hypnotic, but this time I couldn't hear anything. The girl shot me a distressed look, I did too, but after a second the corner of my mouth twisted upward.

Only lost ones, those who were abandoned, unloved could hear the pipes.

This could only mean I was loved.

I needed to find this girl. First thing after the party ended, I would send my shadow to search for her. She must be somewhere!

Suddenly, the fire went out and all the Lost Boys fell unconscious to the floor. They were here.

And so it began.

'We have a guest. No doubt someone who knows how much I like guessing games. Who could it be?' Chuckling, I stood up and began walking around aimlessly.

'I guess; the Dark One.' With that, I magically lit the fire, illuminating Rumple's face. I could sense his son was right behind him in the jungle, hiding with a crossbow.

'Come to save Henry, have you now laddie? How exciting! The Dark One ready to sacrifice his life for his family. Speaking of family, you can come out now Baelfire.'

'Name's Neal now.' And the weapon was pointed straight at me.

'New name but the same old tricks. It's heartwarming to see father and son working together. Especially after you abandoned him, Rumple. This is a real family reunion.'

'What are you waiting for?' Hearing the Dark One whisper impatiently, Neal fired the arrow, but already anticipating that move, I caught it in my hand.

'Clever, but we've been through this before. You remembered nothing.' I threw the stick away, recalling when Baelfire was just my Lost Boy, doing exactly the same.

'Oh, I remembered plenty. That's why I didn't coat the tip.'

With the blue squid magic immobilizing me, they both took Henry and left, but not before I had been able to create a firm wedge between them.

'You were so close to finding them.' I emerged from the jungle to where Emma and her band had made camp. 'You disappoint me, I thought I had taught you better. Never break in someplace unless you know the way out.'

'I'll remember that for next...' Neal began, but I interrupted.

'There won't be a next time. Don't blame yourself. Your father would've protected you out here, sure; but then who would've protected Henry from him?'

During that time, Felix had the sleeping boy on his shoulder, ready to bring back to camp.

'I will get my son back, no matter what it takes.' I had to admired the determination evident in his eyes.

'You're not getting it. That's not the problem. You got him, now I got him back. That's the game! But not my point. The real problem for you is that there is no escaping Neverland. No one gets off this island without my permission.'

'I've done it before.'

'Did you? Look where you are now; it's like you never left.' Grinning my crooked smile, I let him put the pieces together.

'You're saying you let me go?'

'I'm saying everyone is where I want them. And that means you are going to the Echo Caves.'

With that, I left some of the Boys to lock him up and followed Felix back to camp.

The celebration going on as if nothing had ever stopped it, I waited till the sleeping spell wore off of Henry.

'What happened?' He looked around, confused.

'You fell asleep. Don't worry, it was just a little cat nap. The night's still young.'

'Wait, I remember something. My dad. When I was asleep, I could've sworn I heard him calling for me. It must've been a dream.' Henry quickly shook his head.

'How can you be sure?'

'Because my dad is dead.'

'I'm sorry, Henry. It makes sense that we dream about the things we've lost and the things we hope for. Like your father being alive and your mother coming to find you. But eventually, you'll find new things to dream about. And when you do, they'll start to come true.' I really did hope I would find that girl in my memories.

'How do you know?'

'Because that's what I did, and now you're here. Neverland used to be a place where new dreams are born. You can bring that magic back, Henry. Us Lost Boys can be your new family.' For once, I saw some kind of confirmation in his eyes. He was finally accepting being here.

And when I let my flutes do their magic, playing a tune I could hear loud and clear, he danced. He was slowly, but surely, becoming a Lost Boy.

So..yeah...next chapter is going to be a interesting one! *coughs*
