Lenny's POV
The week after that flown right by like an airplane and before I knew it I was stuck writing lyrics again. But, right now, I was stuck in writers block. I tapped my fingers on my desk as I read the lyrics I wrote. Damn I'm getting sappy. I really need to read so creepypasta... Maybe that'll help my scary side. I started to read a story of Eyeless Jack before my sister came in. "The recorders are here. You told Carrie about them right?" I turned and nodded at her remembering how happy Care was when she heard about a record company wanted to hear her band perform. All I could think about back then was my father and how we could go to California with out him knowing. It'll be hard with him working at Distance's record company but, if we do have to go to Cali, then we can try to avoid him... At least try. "You might be happy to know that the company has decided to give us the equipment for recording instead of all of us going their." I smiled before I turned back to my story. "Awesome. You tell Corey yet?" She sat on her bed before sighing. "Yeah, he's excited, but he's over rating if we mess up now." I started to laugh at that as my sister started pout. "You don't know how hard it is to keep him on track." I smiled. "Yeah I do. Care's the same way." Wait, did I just say her nickname to my sister? I'm not going to hear the ending of this. "Wait, did you just say Care?" I blushed as I turned back to my lyric book and pretended to write. "Yes you did!" I ignored her as she started to say that I was finally coming out of my cold heart stage. I hated how she was rock and a romantic. "Can you been quiet Lane? I'm trying to write." She then got off the bed, walked over to me and with out me knowing, took my book away. "Hey!" Her eyes widen as she started to laugh. "Yeah, you're a sweet heart now."I laid my head down on my desk in frustration while blushing. "Shut up." I felt her pat me on the back. "I'll go give Corey our recorder. You should do the same thing with Carrie." I picked my head up off the desk to see a black old fashion recorder sitting there with The Newmans spelled out in sharpie on the side. I got up and put on my leather jacket over my green and black striped tank top and pulled on my combat boots over my black skinny jeans before grabbing the recorder. "How could he hear us clearly over this thing?" I mumbled to my self as I walked down stairs after closing my bedroom door. "You'll have to have master's hearing." I opened the front door at this point an closed it behind me to see my sister already down the street. I started to walk to Care's house as I tied my leather jacket around my waist. After about ten minutes I found my self at Care's. I walked up the pale blue steps and knocked onto the dark blue door. I always thought it was weird that they didn't have a door bell but it must have been how the house was built. "I got it!" I could easily tell it was Carrie. Right then the door opened to show Carrie in a light blue hood, blue jeans, her signature beanie and dark blue jeans. "Hey Care." She smiled brightly and gave me a quick hug. "Hey Lens! What's up?" I could feel that I was blushing lightly but I tried my best to push it down. "The recorder came in today." Her smiled got bigger as she signaled me inside. I walked in a little bit before handing her the recorder after she closed the door. "Wow, this thing looks pretty old. I thought it'll look different." I started to laugh lightly at her shock expression. "It's not that old Care. People actually still make these. This one is a early design most likely." She gave me a confused look before putting the black recorder on the counter next to her. "How do you know that?" I shrugged. "I'm just as surprised as you are on that." She started the laugh and punched me lightly on the arm. "Thanks any way Lens."
-Meanwhile With Laney Transition-
Laney's POV
I was walking down the street in a red and black striped tank top, red skinny jeans, combat boots and my green music note hood tied against my waist. I held the black recorder tight in my hands as I approached Core's house. I walked up the blue small steps to knock on the oddly red door. "I got it Trina!" I knew that was Corey. "But what if it's Nick Mallory?!" And that was Trina. The door opened to show an excited Trina and Corey leaning against the wall behind her. Trina's expression turned sad as she was about to close the door in my face as she remarked me as 'A nerdy groj-bad member' before she went up stairs. "Hey Lanes. What are you doing here?" I smiled and shown him the recorder. "The recorder came in today. I figured you might have wanted to see it first." He smiled at me and took the black recorder out of my hand gently. "Are you sure this is the one from that Jake guy? It looks pretty old." I nodded. "It came with a note from him. It might actually been made this year. You'll never know with creators these days Core." He gave me a quick smile. "How are you this smart Lanes?" I knew I was blushing so I tried to push it down as much as I could. "Don't know Core. Maybe I actually stay awake during class." I remembered when he fell asleep in Mr. Mullins class. He laughed and punched me lightly in the arm. "Nice memory burn Lanes."
