Chapter 11

Sorry for making you wait for this chapter, I've had a few exams in the past two weeks, as well as social commitments, so I've been kind of busy. Thanks for reading, and all the reviews prompting me to write. They really helped to motivate me. J

"But… Jedikiah." Cara stared at the founder in utter disbelief. She was still sat in the corner of her cell, knees pulled up to her chest. She had stopped shaking, though her posture was still tense.

"He's always been very attached to the boy, he trained him after all. But the attachment has always worked well in my favour, John's belief that Jedikiah had his best interests at heart made him much easier to manipulate." Cara was horrified, she had so many questions but one seemed more important than the others. Why?! The founder seemed to hear this.

"It was an experiment. I wanted the perfect soldier; someone powerful, someone young but experienced. Since TP's don't break out till they're adolescents, it's hard to tell who's going to be powerful. Then I realised, I could be almost certain the soldier would powerful, if I fathered it, along with another powerful TP of course. It was the perfect solution; it meant I had a great deal of control over the child's life."

"John was an Ultra experiment before he was even born. He's the youngest recruit we've ever had and was named as such." John Young, the name clicked in Cara's head. The founder looked down at her, smiling maliciously.

"You experimented on him, made him kill. How could you do that to your own son?" Cara met his smile with a look of disgust. The founder was quickly becoming annoyed at the girls self-righteous attitude. A moment later, she felt a wall of pressure, pushing her tight against the wall, her head was pushed backwards, leaving her neck fully exposed.

"He's an experiment. A soldier. I've invested a lot into John and you, you're getting in the way. Preventing him from reaching his full potential."

"Now, tell me, why would John go back on all his training and get attached to someone like you?" She could feel him searching her mind, sifting through her memories of John. Flashes of different memories over whelmed her mind, until the Founder found the ones he was interested in. These were usually their fights, the founder let these play out in her head.

"So he was too independent, not willing to be vulnerable and share his feelings with you." The founder said mockingly, repeating her words throughout the argument. "Well at least he hasn't forsaken all of his training." With that the founder left Cara alone, shaking in the corner, recovering from the forceful invasion of her mind.

"Although we have caught Mary Campbell, she is continuing to be a problem. We have her in custody, but she has injured many of the guards and is continuing to cause trouble." Jedikiah explained to the Founder, during one of their lunch time meetings. "The situation is getting serious sir, I'm afraid something must be done about her before other agents start to think that they can challenge you." The Founder didn't appear concerned as he casually read the lunch menu in front of him.

"Have any other agents followed suit? Are they rebelling or have they stayed loyal to Ultra?"

"Not yet. But it's only a matter of time. If more people find out about what you've done, she might get more supporters, sir." Jedikiah was concerned, he truly felt bad about his part in the Founders plan, he knew they had done was fundamentally wrong. It was unforgivable. Jedikiah looked down at the baby boy, whose back was arched and fists clenched, stretching out as he slept in the car seat. He was only 3 months old and Jedikiah had personally ripped him from his mother's arms a few days previous and now he was hand delivering him to this man. This man, who was going to make sure every experience the boy had would prepare him for being a soldier. The child stirred and Jedikiah gently started to rock the car seat with his foot.

"Very well. I think it's time to terminate the girl. She's causing too many problems." The founder said indifferently. Mary Campbell was 24 years old, he'd chosen her because she was particularly gifted at teleporting, had a high IQ and was very loyal to Ultra. It was regrettable that she had to be executed, as the mother of his child she could have been useful, but now she was causing too many problems.

Two months ago she had gotten wind of Ultra's plan for their son, this resulted in her running away from Ultra and going into hiding, taking their one month old son, John, with her. Mary had been in hiding, with John, until a few days ago when Ultra had tracked them down. As punishment, the founder had taken her son away a few months earlier than originally planned. Now she had become mutinous, she needed to go.

Jedikiah looked slightly taken aback by his order, he quickly supressed the emotions that were plastered across his face. "Very well sir. And the child?" He enquired looking down at John.

"Leave him with me, I've made arrangements." Jedikiah looked down at the child, suddenly reluctant to leave, after a moment's hesitation, he left the room, ignoring his gut feeling.

Sorry for such a short chapter and that it took me so long to update. It'll be longer next time. Thanks for reading and please review.
