Hey everybody,
a new chapter just for you! Hope you like it!
I totally forgot how tiring school is, goodness gracious! Has anyone see the latest OuaT episode? I only cried a little when they showed a flashback of Peter...only a little *insert sarcasm here* thanks Adam and Eddie!
Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own Once upon a Time, just the crazy ideas in my head that I incorporated into this story!
Chapter 52
Peter's POV:
'I love you, Aura. I would do anything to be with you.' As I moved my lips with her, I knew she was responding to the kiss, although somewhat unsure of her feelings.
She still needed time, and if I had the Heart of the Truest Believer in me, I could be patient forever. But I didn't understand why she was denying the most obvious thing; our True Love. Her heart glowing was proof enough for me; I had learnt from the mistake the first time.
'Here, you own it anyway.' Pulling out my heart, I handed her my beating organ.
'Now, I need to get Henry and leave for Skull Rock. I'm not sure if the group will come to camp, so it would be best if you stayed here till I come back for you.' Then, I would make her the dinner I had promised, walk along the beach with her and make her happy in every way I knew how.
'Then I will wait.'
As I transported myself to camp, all dressed up, I could feel Aura gently holding my heart, causing shivers to run down my spine.
Then, placing my hand on the special boy's shoulder, I urged. 'Come on Henry, we don't have much time.' He only nodded.
'My brothers! Tonight, the dream of Neverland will awaken from its slumber. Tonight, the Heart of the Truest Believer fulfils its destiny; and with it, our destiny. Tonight, Henry saves magic.' And us all, I thought silently as the Lost Ones around started to cheer.
As I rowed the boat, bringing us closer to Skull Rock with each stroke, all I could think about was Aura, and how with me being immortal, she would rule Neverland by my side, as my Queen forever.
'Been a long time since I stepped foot on this shore.' I drew a line with a stick lying around into the sand, performing my magic.
'What's that?'
'It's a protection spell. Now let's go, there isn't much time.' Only those without shadows could enter, and I knew very well the only other person on the island without his shadow following their movements every single moment was my brother, who was coming to save Henry.
I was prepared for the confrontation. I was ten steps ahead of the game, and I would get what I desired.
Leading him through the passages, all well lit by torches that never went out, we arrived in the 'brains' of the Skull.
'This is it: the place where you're going to save magic.'
'Why does it have to be here?' he asked, his eyes skimming all the skulls lined up on the walls.
'Because this is the location from which Neverland's magic emanates.' That wasn't true, it actually originated from the Fountain of Youth at Dead Man's Peak, the waters keeping the island young forever.
This was the place that had suddenly appeared the day Aura had visited Neverland in her dreams.
'What's the hourglass for?'
'Marks how much time we have left before Neverland's magic runs out.' Every new lie created a black spot in my heart, I was sure Aura would be surprised to see a complete black heart by the time I came back.
That darkness would only fade when I was with her again.
'It's almost empty,' Henry remarked, and I felt a shift in the atmosphere; someone had entered through my protection spell.
'Come with me. There is something I need to take of before we get started, okay?' I led him to one of the other passages, leaving him to sit on a rock and hide from view.
The Dark One was here, and I was going to offer him a chance to leave, one last time.
'Hello, laddie. Oh, I see you come bearing gifts,' I said, Pandora's box in Rumple's hand catching my interest.
'Where is Henry?'
'Oh, you mean my great-nephew? You still haven't told the others who I really am; not even your own son. Why?'
'Because you're nothing but a coward to me.'
'We both know if that were true, I'd be in that box already.'
'You think I can't do it? You only let me inside, so you can taunt me?'
'No. To see you again. To give you one last chance: leave the island, go start the life our father never gave you. Let this go.' I really hoped he would take my offer, I wanted my brother to be safe in the way I should've protected him when we were children.
'How do you expect me to forgive you so easily after you abandoned me?'
'I'm disappointed, Rumple. After all these years, I'd thought you'd be more...understanding. Considering you did the same thing to your son. You traded Baelfire for the power of a dagger...and I left you for a better life. We're a lot more alike than you care to admit.'
After I had turned nineteen, my relationship with Rumple somehow had disintegrated. After all the explaining I had done, he still didn't believe that father had left us, but believed I had driven him away. I would work at the blacksmith my father had sold to me years ago, and my brother would stay at home with the spinsters; we didn't see each other much. I guess it was selfish of me to leave him alone, going off to a new realm, never looking back; leaving everything behind. But I left Rumple so we both could find a better lifeā¦so he would have his best chance.
'We are nothing alike,' the Dark One sneered.
'Of course we are, that's nothing to be ashamed of. We are after all brothers. We just weren't cut out to protect the ones we loved.'
'I regretted leaving my son the moment I let him go. I spent my life trying to find him, to get him back. And you? What did you do? You forgot about me.'
'I never forgot about you! Why do you think I still have all the scars that I got from dad's beatings when I tried to protect you, I could've made them vanish.' Father had never hit Rumple, only me.
But one night, when my little brother showed up with a magic bean, everything went wrong.
'Papa! Peter! I found a bean, it can take us to a new place, somewhere we can start over.' He stumbled in through the door, holding the bean, this new chance, tightly in his hand.
'Do you know how much money we can get by selling it? Think of all the alcohol!' Father marvelled, ready to snatch the bean out of Rumple's hand.
'No! It's mine, Papa. Let me go.' Rumple struggled, and I saw father raise his hand.
'Don't you dare touch him.' I stepped in between, shielding Rumple from harm, instead receiving bruises and a broken nose.
Father had still gotten the bean, and left us in the small, beat-down hut we called home.
'Don't think for a moment I believe it's because you care for me.'
'But I do, brother. Why won't you listen? All you have to do is put down that box to see it's true. You can get that happy ending you wanted; without me, I don't care, as long as you are happy, Rumple.'
'But I am a villain, and villains don't get happy endings.' He began circling his hand over the box, waiting for it to open.
Only it never would.
'You don't have it.' Pulling out the real Pandora's box I had switched an hour ago, I held it out for him to see.
'You switched them.'
'You never did learn from father's pub games. Follow the lady. Still having trouble believing, all you have to do in Neverland is think of something to have it. Even something fake. The real one, well, let's see what it can do.' It broke me inside to do this to my brother, my only real family, but it had to be done.
'I'm so sorry, Rumple. I offered you your chance. The choice was yours.'
'It's time, Henry. Time to save magic. To save Neverland.' Setting Pandora's box in one of the walls crooks, I turned to Henry, who was still mesmerized by the hourglass.
Time was running out faster that I thought.
'What do I have to do?'
'You must give me your heart, Henry. The Heart of the Truest Believer.'
'You mean, I have to believe?'
'No, Henry. I mean you have to give me your heart.'
'But then what will become of me?' For the first time, I saw doubt cross his features, not fully anticipating this kind of price.
'You become the greatest of all heroes!'
'You can tell me the truth. I know all magic comes with a price. Saving it must require a price, too.'
'I would never lie to you, Henry. You are right: there is a price. You'll have to stay here, on the island, with me. Neverland will become your new home. I know this is a huge sacrifice, but isn't it worth it?' This seemed to convince him.
'Heroes have to make sacrifices all the time, my family taught me that.'
'They would be proud if they could see you now; because you're about the save them all. Are you ready?' He only nodded.
'Well, then let me help you.' I surrounded his hand with magic that would make it possible for him to pull out his heart.
Suddenly, a voice called from the entrance.
'Henry, wait! Whatever Pan is telling you to do, don't do it. You have to listen to me; Pan is lying to you!'
'Nice to see you, too, Baelfire. Not to mention the Saviour. And the Evil Queen.' I wasn't expecting them to appear, and I hoped they wouldn't interfere too much with Henry's resolve.
'You need to get away from him now, he's trying to hurt you.' Henry's eyes kept shifting between mine and those of Emma.
'The Heart of the Truest Believer, it's what's going to save magic. It's going to save all of you.' He held up his heart which was glowing the same tone of gold like Aura's,
'No, it's not. This was never about magic, Henry. You have to believe us. The only person Pan is interested in saving, is himself.' Regina motioned to me.
'That's not true!'
'Yes, it is. Pan can't live without you dying, if you give him your heart, it's going to kill you.'
'They're trying to weaken your belief, Henry, but don't let them. Remember: every hero gets tested.' I turned my back to his parents, at the same time blocking his view so his focus was only on me.
'Why would they lie to me?'
'Because that's what adults do! You know that better than anyone. Your parents don't care about Neverland; they know if you give your heart, then you'll have to stay. They're being selfish, because they don't want to lose you. I'm the only one who's been honest with you, Henry! I'm the only one who ever believed in you! This is your choice, not theirs. But you have to choose now, we're running out of time.' I would die any second, the boy needed to make the right decision.
'I love you, but I have to save magic. I'm sorry.' And with that, Henry pushed his heart into my chest.
And I was immortal.
So...yeah...I always there was a very, very, very weird connection between the roles Robbie Kay has played...
Like in Ways to Live Forever, he tries to become immortal -but in a different way- and also his friend is Felix...and in OuaT, it's the exact same thing!
Reviews are always appreciated!
Love you all,
