AN: So, noone like this story? Whatever. I 'm posting for me. Suck it.
A few hours later, Cena and the champion continued their odd chemistry, with no measurable consequences of the previous night's actions. Titus O'Neil became a singles competitor, and the night rolled on.
As their relationship progressed, Cena and the champion went farther and farther sexually, careful not to rip each other apart. Punk stayed in the less serious stage of dating. As things between Cena and the Champion became more and more serious, however, the subject of marriage happened to come up.
Punk refused to discuss marriage to either one of them. He insisted he remain single, but committed. They agreed if the time came for that, they would agree to include Punk in their private vows to one another, but not in the official ceremony.
Eventually, of course, their feud was changed to something else, and new divas entered the company. The Corporate offices pushed more and more for her retirement, despite the fact that she was really over with the fans. The Creative team wanted her to have something a bit more. Something to draw the audience in.
Cena heard this and his heart began to race. He slipped away from the meeting, making a phone call regarding the next show.
The next time Raw came on the air, the roof was removed completely. It was a nice, clear night, and slightly warm. Cena made sure there were paper lanterns given to each ticket holder of the show, and before they went on air, the announcement was continually displayed, "Please do not light or release the lanterns until we give the cue.
The show went on without a hitch, and after they went off the air, the message came on the titantron, "Please light your lanterns, but don't release them. Please do not release the lanterns yet. "
The lanterns produced more than enough light in the arena, and the lights overhead were turned off. Everyone murmured amongst themselves, wondering what was happening.
Cena breathed nervously as he gathered his nerves. He stepped out onto the stage in a white suit, the lights around him making it look closer to off-white. The Usos walked out to the stage in black suits, walking quickly to ringside as Cena breathed heavily and gathered his nerves.
The diva's champion was told she was wanted at ringside as she meandered around backstage. She walked to the ring, gasping at the lights and a bit more so at Cena. The crowd looked on in anticipation, because on-show proposals were always thwarted, but then, this was off-air. Cena walked her down to the ring, looking over at her nervously. They entered the ring together, and for a moment, Cena found himself at a loss for words.
The butterflies in his stomach threatened to make him throw up, but he knew he could not just stand there and say nothing. "I knew from the first minute I met you that you were different. You knew what I needed before I did. You see through my lies when I don't even know I'm telling them. You know me better than anyone else has. Ever." He knelt slowly as he spoke. "I spend almost every waking moment thinking of when I'll see you again, and every other moment wondering how to spend the rest of my life without you. I know this may be a little soon, but I want- no, I need you by my side for the rest of my life. I know it may sound corny, but it just Feels right." He placed his hand over his chest so she could feel that he was still wearing the harness. "Will you marry me?"
