I can hear the ocean as I stir and drift back into consciousness. I can sense that someone is watching me sleep and I open one eye cautiously. I was right.

'Fuck Christian, what are you doing here?' I say, fully alert now.

'That's a lovely way to greet your brother who has just spent the last six hours on a jet.' Christian says.

'Sorry, it was a bit of a shock seeing you though. How long have you been here?' I say.

'About an hour.' He says.

'What time is it?' I ask.

'Four here, seven in Seattle.' He says.

'I've slept almost seven hours.' I say, totally shocked.

'Yes and you obviously needed it. How are you feeling?' he asks.

'So much better, I feel like I could go for a swim.' I say.

'Hopefully you can when Dr Richards has checked you out.' he says. He gets out his blackberry and presses a button. 'Matt's awake.'

'Who was that?' I ask.

'Taylor.' He says.

'You brought Taylor?' I ask.

'Yes and Elliot.' He says and I groan. 'What's the matter?'

'Nothing.' I say almost sulkily.

'Yes there is. Are you worried that we're about to take over your holiday?' he says. I nod cautiously. 'When I spoke to you this morning I'd just come out of a meeting, by chance the person was flying here in his jet and offered me a seat, I asked if he had another two spare and he did so after a quick call to Elliot who was so excited to be coming we found ourselves at Seatac. Don't worry, we're going back tomorrow on the GEH jet, it was due to take off in the morning but we'll leave late afternoon.' He says and I almost sigh with relief.

'You came to see me for just one night.' I say.

'And the house. Now that I've seen you, yes we'll only stay tonight. We would have stayed however long was necessary if you'd been very ill still.' Christian says.

'Anna.' I say.

'Is good, she's going out with Kate and mom tonight to talk weddings. I didn't think I was required.' He says and smiles at me. There's a knock at the door and Taylor enters, he smiles at me and then announces that Dr Richards is here. Christian stands and goes to shake Dr Richards hand.

'Good to see you again Mr Grey.' Dr Richards say.

'Likewise Dr Richards.' Christian says. I manage to sit up in bed as Dr Richards walks over to me. I look over at Christian and Taylor and they actually leave the room to give us privacy, that wouldn't have happened at the hospital in Seattle last week.

'Mr Grey….' Dr Richards starts.

'Dr Richards please call me Matt, Matthew if you have to but not Mr Grey. It makes me sound so old.' I mutter and he smiles at me.

'OK Matthew, I hear you had a relapse this morning.' He says.

'Yes but I feel full of energy again now. In fact I haven't felt this well for a while.' I say. I feel totally relaxed with him.

'That's good. Tell me about your day yesterday.' He says and I start to explain everything from the start. He must sense that I've left a few bits out as he says. 'I asked Mr Grey and Taylor to wait outside because I want to know everything Matthew. It will go no further than this room but if we're going to build up an accurate picture of what's causing the relapses and dizzy spells then I need to know everything.' I look at him warily and he smiles at me to encourage me to carry on. I now go into more detail, telling him when I made love to Hannah and then about finding the photos of Emily and after that I couldn't sleep but lost myself in the music on the piano.

'You know everything now.' I say quietly.

'Thank you. You certainly had a busy day yesterday. Matthew just the flight on its own will have taken a lot out of your body but with everything else that you did as well this relapse is your body's way of telling you that you're still ill and need to continue to take things slowly.' He says.

'I feel so good though now.' I say.

'Because you've finally slept and your body has recovered.' He says.

'Will I be able to surf on Friday?' I ask.

'Only if you don't overdo it tonight and tomorrow. Your brothers are here so I imagine you'll be in the pool soon, which is fine but I'd prefer if you didn't drink any beer or make love to Hannah for a few days.' He says and I look at him questionable. 'I should explain. I want you to start doing a bit of exercise to build up your strength and stamina, eventually when we have that under control we can add other things in like Hannah and beer.'

'OK, how long will I have to wait?' I ask.

'Are you impatient?' He asks with a smile.

'Very, probably the most impatient person you'll ever come across.' I say as I smile back at him.

'OK, pool time with your brothers today. Lots of sleep tonight. Pool time in the morning followed by rest either in bed or lying by pool or on the sun deck. If and only if you're still feeling as good as you are now then tomorrow lunchtime you can surf, paddle board or body board with your brothers tomorrow afternoon before they go back but only for an hour maximum. After a few hours rest you can then have gentle pool time but that's all Matthew.' He says.

'That's sounds very generous.' I say.

'Yes but listen to your body. Don't overdo it. I'll check on you tomorrow evening after my shift at the hospital and then I'd like to run those tests on Friday morning. We can discuss then the next steps after seeing how you get on between now and then.' He says.

'Thanks. I'll be careful. I don't want to feel like I did this morning again on the rest of this break.' I say. 'My stitches.'

'I'll take them out now.' He says and opens up his doctors bag. He has them out before I can even think about what he's doing. 'If you don't mind I'd also like to scan you on Friday, just to double check your spleen and I'll do your blood pressure now.' I hold out my arm and it doesn't take long. 'That seems good. OK I'll leave you to it. Any problems do not hesitate to call next door. It's lovely to see you again Matthew and Mrs Richards is delighted to be looking after you.'

'Thanks.' I say shyly, unsure of what else to say. As he leaves Christian is straight back in the room. He looks at me expectantly.

'I can't have a beer with you tonight.' I say sadly.

'Hey that's not the end of the world.' He says sympathetically. 'Anything else?'

'I can't make love to Hannah for a few days at least.' I mutter.

'That's tough.'

'I know, but I can go in the pool with you and Elliot now and tomorrow morning and if I still feel this good at lunchtime tomorrow then I can surf with you both for an hour in the afternoon before you fly back home.' I say excitedly as I jump out of bed. I head straight to the closet and grab some swimming shorts and just change in front of Christian.

'Matt please.' Christian says.

'Sorry, did I embarrass you. Mia told me off yesterday because I asked for some privacy. I just do it automatically sometimes.' I say.

'Even after all these years I don't understand you and I don't think I ever will. One minute you're so easy going and open and you're stripping off in front of anyone and the next you close in on yourself and won't let anyone close.' He says.

'Remind you of anyone.' I say.

'Not the stripping off part.' He says with a smirk. 'Matt you will have the decency to cover up when we all holiday together, at least have your boxer shorts on.'

'Yes, I don't wander round with nothing on anymore. I haven't done for a while.' I say and he just looks at me. 'Well not when there's anyone in the house with me. Come on we're missing out on pool time and look I have no stitches. How do you think the scar looks now? Is it better than it was?'

'Slow down, you're all hyper again. Your scar looks so much better. Come to my room and wait for me before we go to the pool.' He says.

'Why, are we jumping in together?' I ask.

'Of course.' He says with a smirk.

'OK, I'll catch you up. I'll just get my camera for Hannah and she can take photos of us. I don't think she'll join in to start with.' I say grinning at him. He grins back and then disappears in the direction of his room. I find my camera and then follow him. He's already back on the landing.

'That was quick.' I say as we head downstairs.

'I'm not here long and have to make the most of my time here. Would you mind if I went for a surf with Elliot whilst you rested after we've been in the pool?' he asks.

'Not at all, though the ocean looks kind of flat at the moment. I think there's some paddle boards as well.' I say.

'And there's a couple of jet skis.' He says with a wide grin.

'Cool, maybe if I'm careful I'll be able to go on one at the weekend.' I say. As we emerge onto the terrace Mia is the one that spots us first.

'Matt, are you feeling better?' she asks as she gets up and comes to give me a hug.

'I'm feeling good again Mia but please break the news to me gently about your shopping trip. Did you spend all my money?' I ask.

'No, we just had lunch on you.' She says.

'But Mia, I said you could get shoes and I expected you to come back with other things as well.' I say.

'We didn't want to take advantage of your generosity and as you pointed out I get more than enough from Christian.' She says before adding quietly so only I can hear. 'How did you feel about finding out our two brothers have joined us?'

'Shocked, pleased it's only for one night.' I whisper back.

'Same as me. You did so well yesterday and started to take control and I want that to continue. I don't think that would happen if they stayed any longer.' She says. 'I'm here to help you little bro.' she adds as she hugs me once more.

'Thanks Mia.' I say as I hug her back before letting her go. I make my way over to the sun lounger where Hannah is plugged into her ipod with her eyes closed. I lean over her and placing one hand on her hip I kiss her cheek gently. She smiles and opens one eye whilst removing one of the ear pods. 'I missed you baby.' I say to her quietly.

'I missed you too Matt. You look so much better.' She says as she sits to hug me.

'I feel so much better but have just got to take it easy for a few days.' I say. 'I can swim now and we're going to do our jump in. Would you like to join us or would you prefer to take photos?' I say as I show her my camera.

'Photos.' She says and stands to walk to the pool.

'Woah, slow down. T-shirt.' I say as I pick one up from the sun lounger. She looks at me questionably and I look to see where the others are. They are all sat down by the pool chatting. 'I don't want my brothers seeing you with so little on.' I say quietly as I kiss her cheek once more and run my fingers over the edge of the material on her bikini top.

'Matt, if I was coming in the pool with you I wouldn't wear a t-shirt.' She says indignantly. I look at her wondering where this conversation is going. 'So just because I'm sat on the side shouldn't change things.' And with that she walks off towards the pool. I follow behind my mood dampened slightly. Hannah walks to the other side from where my siblings are and as I approach they all stand.

'Matt.' Elliot says in his too loud voice.

'Hi Elliot.' I mutter quietly.

'Where's your good mood gone?' Christian says. I look over at Hannah and his eyes follow mine. He looks back at me and grins. 'So much for control little bro.'

'You know what I'm thinking?' I say.

'Yes and I wouldn't worry about it, all the girls will be here and like that in a couple of months. You don't think anything of Mia in a bikini do you?' he asks.

'No.' I mutter.

'Don't overthink it. Just enjoy yourself.' He says and with that he takes my hand and Mia's. Elliot takes my other hand. 'Ready' Christian asks. We all look at each other and with huge grins we jump together.
