'Any requests?' I ask as I pull away from the group hug. I press a few keys on the piano and start to sing 'Fly me to the moon.' As I sing I smile at Hannah shyly and as the song comes to an end she comes to kiss me.
''I love you too.' She whispers.
'Enough of you two in your love bubble, play something else.' Elliot says. I look at him and smirk.
'OK, Elliot, here goes.' I say and start to play an upbeat tune and Elliot grins at me. I start the song and the four of them mess about pretending to be on surf boards whilst I sing the words to Surfin USA. When I finish they're all in high spirits.
'I enjoyed that Matt.' Elliot says with a huge grin.
'It's hardly wedding music.' I say.
'You can do that when Christian and Ana have left.' Elliot says.
'We'll see.' I mutter but smile at him. 'OK, this next one is the last one today but sorry Elliot it's another love song. I want to run it by Christian as one for the wedding night.' I start to sing Take That's 'Greatest Day' lyrics. As I finish I look at Christian expectantly.
'Ana will love that.' He says with a smile. 'Please can I send it to her?' I look at him with a puzzled expression and he shows me his phone.
'You recorded me.' I say quietly.
'Yes, do you mind?' he asks. I shrug and go and stand by the terrace doors, looking out at the view. Hannah comes and stands next to me and takes my hand.
'It was beautiful.' Hannah says. I look at her, unsure what to say. 'Take Christian's phone and go somewhere quiet to listen to it on your own.' She smiles at me reassuringly and as I turn Christian hands me his phone.
'I'll delete it if you want me to, but just listen to yourself.' He says gently.
'OK.' I whisper and taking the phone head straight for daddy's study. I sit in his chair and turn the phone over and over in my hand until I eventually hit play. After listening once I hit repeat. I don't know what I expected but I think I'm in shock. If I hadn't just sung this song I would have thought that I was listening to someone on my ipod. I can't register that it's me. I sit for a while until I hear a quiet tapping on the door.
'Come in.' I say and Christian enters sitting in the chair opposite me.
'So, shall I delete it?' he asks. I shrug. 'Can we listen to it together?' I nod and hit play once more. As the song finishes my finger hovers over the delete button. I look up at Christian and he shakes his head. I hand him the phone. 'Please can I send it to Ana?' I look away. 'Matt, have you got words at the moment?' he asks worriedly. I pause for a few moments.
'Yes.' I whisper.
'Thank God for that.' He says.
'I'm shocked.' I say, again quietly.
'You didn't realise how good you were.' He says. I shake my head. 'Oh Matt…..'
'I don't know if I can sing at your wedding.' I whisper.
'Matt, you know you're good and you can.' He says.
'People will talk.' I say.
'It's only family and a few close friends, no-one is going to go to the press with this. You can still keep it pretty quiet.' He says reassuringly.
'OK, but I don't want it going further than the wedding guests.' I say.
''It won't, I'll make sure of it.' He says and then stands. 'I've promised Elliot that I'll play Mario with him. Do you want to join us?'
'I'd love to but I'd better just check on Hannah. I haven't spent much time with her today.' I say.
'She's happy, her and Mia have had a good day.' He says as we walk out of the study together. As we walk into the TV room Elliot is setting up the games console. Mia and Hannah follow us into the room.
'Matt, I'm going to go to bed. I'm pretty tired.' Hannah says.
'OK baby, I'll come up with you until you fall asleep.' I say as I take her hand. 'I'll be back down soon.' I add to Christian.
'Matt, stay here. I'll be OK.' Hannah says.
'No, I want some alone time with you.' I whisper in her ear and she blushes.
'Matt….' Christian warns.
'I know, I don't need reminding.' I say and pull Hannah towards the stairs. On reaching the bedroom we hug each other tightly. 'Baby I'm sorry we haven't spent much time together yet.'
'Don't worry, I'm having a good time and Mia is keeping me company. Matt your brothers are only here for a short time, go and have some fun with them. Tomorrow just enjoy their company, I will carry on taking photos of you all. I'm really enjoying using your camera and it would be lovely if you and Mia could put an album together for your mom. Here look at the ones I took earlier whilst I go in the bathroom.' She says as she hands me the camera. I go and sit in the chair and switch the camera on. My smile widens as I click through, Hannah has captured every moment. I'm splashing Elliot and jumping in the waves whilst he tries to get me back. There's one of Mia hugging me and some of Mia and Christian together as they laugh at me and Elliot. There's others of Elliot and Christian together and then of me with them, Elliot is hugging me in one and we're all smiling and happy in them all.
'Mom will love these.' I say to Hannah as she comes out of the bathroom. 'They really are good Hannah.'
'Thanks Matt. I'm hoping to get plenty more. I want one of the four of you sat together though.' She says.
'OK, we'll do that in the morning.' I say standing and going to the bed to pull the duvet back for her. She climbs into bed and I lie next to her.
'Make the most of tomorrow with Elliot and Christian. We'll have our time together when they are back in Seattle. Don't feel guilty about not being with me.' She says again.
'OK Hannah. I love you baby.' I say.
'I love you too.' She says and hugs me. I kiss her cheek and then move those kisses to her neck and slowly down to her breast. 'Matt.' She whispers. I move my hands towards her panties and pulling them to one side push my fingers inside her. She's so wet already. 'Matt no.' she says. I stop kissing her and pull my fingers out of her.
'Baby what's the matter?' I ask as I look into her eyes.
'We can't do this yet.' She says.
'I can't but I want to make you happy.' I say.
'Matt, you make me happy all the time. I'd rather wait until we can make love together.' She says and pulls me into a hug.
'Ok.' I say hesitantly.
'Matt please, I don't want you to risk anything this week. If you make me come then you'll be aroused yourself and you might as well make love to me. Dr Richards has said you can't for a few days so that means both of us.' Hannah says seriously.
'You're right baby.' I say.
'Matt, I want you well again as soon as possible. I want to watch you surf and go to the zoo with you.' She says. I smile at her and kiss her cheek.
'OK, you're tired. Go to sleep. I'll wait with you and then go downstairs.' I say.
'Matt, don't be silly. Go now.' She says.
'If you're sure….' I start. She nods at me. 'OK I'm going. I'll be up to bed soon.'
'Have fun' she says as she rolls over and I leave the room. I meet Mia on the landing.
'I'm off to bed as well Matt. See you in the morning.' Mia says and comes to hug me. 'Thank you so much for having me here, I've had such a lovely day.'
'No worries.' I say with a smile. 'Night Mia.'
'Night Matt.' She says and then goes to her room as I descend the stairs. As I enter the TV room Elliot grins at me.
'Boy time.' Elliot says. 'Do you remember trying to play this game?'
'Vaguely.' I say as my mobile vibrates. Christian looks at me surprised as hardly anyone calls me.
'Hi Jonty.' I say.
'Hi Matt, I'm flying out with my parents on Saturday morning and we're staying until Tuesday.' Jonty says.
'Cool, I can surf for an hour tomorrow so hopefully it might be a bit longer by the weekend.' I say. 'Are you in a bar again?' I ask as there's lots of background noise.
'No party. Matt, do you mind if a couple of people come out with me?' Jonty asks.
'Who, do I know them?' I ask.
'Of course. Adam and Josie, unfortunately Jess can't make it.' He says.
'That's a shame but it will be good to see Adam and Josie. Hannah will be pleased.' I say.
'Matt, this might sound cheeky but how many surf boards have you got? I've only got a couple. I'll get some more if I need to.' Jonty says.
'Hang on a minute.' I say to Jonty and then turn to Elliot. 'How many surf boards have I got?'
'Six that you can use.' Elliot says. I give him a puzzled look but go back to my conversation with Jonty.
'Did you hear that? I've got six. There's also some paddle boards, skim boards and jet skis.' I tell him.
'Cool, shall I call when we're at the house and we can arrange to meet?' Jonty asks.
'Sure, go and enjoy your party. Have a safe flight and we'll see you Saturday.' I say.
'Cheers Matt, see you Saturday.' He says and clicks off. I smile at the phone.
'Jonty's coming here.' I say to Christian and Elliot.
'We heard.' Christian says.
'Well not here, he's staying at his house down the road and a couple of friends are coming who we were meant to be going surfing with in California.' I say. Christian raises his eyebrows.
'You're excited. What are their names?' he asks.
'Adam and Josie.' I say.
'Full names.' He says. I look at him questionably and Elliot smirks at me.
'You're not going to do a background check. I've been at school with them for years.' I say.
'Full names.' He growls.
'Adam Hudson and Josie Wallis.' I say quietly.
'Thank you.' He says. 'Here carry on for me I need to call Welch.' He says as he hands me his controller. I take it from him and start to play with Elliot.
'Matt, sometimes it's easier just to tell Christian everything and let him get on with his checks. He'll feel happier knowing their backgrounds and then he'll relax once he is in control of the facts. He's bound to be more over protective of you at the moment with the press release even if you have been friends for a long time.' Elliot says gently.
'Has he even done one on Jonty and Hannah?' I ask. Elliot nods and I sigh.
'Don't think about it, just let him get on with it.' Elliot says.
'So why only six surfboards that we can use?' I ask.
'There's eight in total, two were your daddy's but we didn't use them today. You might want to though. I'll show you which ones tomorrow.' Elliot says.
'Thanks Elliot.' I say.
'No worries, now help me get to the end of this level. I forgot how rubbish Christian was at this game.' Elliot says and I burst out laughing.
