I know, I know. I owe you guys chapters and I am so sorry for the delay. But here it is! Thank you for being patient with me. I have taken a lot of your suggestions and I really hope I didn't fail any expectations. Most of all, I hope you guys enjoy this!
Haunted House
Aomine never discovered his fear of ghosts (fear? Tch! The only one who can scare me is me! Obvious denial right there) and he would rather have kept it that way. But he'd made the mistake of tagging behind Akashi and Kuroko, now he had to suffer the embarrassment of freaking out in public.
How it began? Well, it was actually the phantom player who had suggested that they go try out that "interesting haunted house over there." It's going to be fun, he said. Aomine couldn't quite believe how easily Akashi had agreed to this. When Aomine brought up the jet coaster, trying to convince him to go for another round (because Aomine loved that ride like a kid loved candy), Akashi snapped at him, saying, "I am not getting on that wretched ride again." And so they hadn't.
The thing about the haunted house that greatly concerned Aomine was that it wasn't an ordinary walk-in structure where you'd still be able to run for your life when you got caught. No. It was a train ride. That meant you were strapped in your seat, enduring two full minutes of whatever thing was coming at you with no chance of escape. Shit.
"Calm down, Daiki." To think that the ride couldn't get any worse, Aomine had to sit next to Akashi. He ran a hand over his face wishing he'd gone with Momoi instead. But she and the rest of the guys were going to some ride he couldn't pronounce.
"I-I am calm!" The stutter in Aomine's voice, of course, proved otherwise. Kuroko tried consoling him by putting a hand on his shoulder, but ended up making him jump in his seat. "D-don't do that Kuroko!" The ace was literally shaking under his palm.
"That wasn't me, Aomine-kun." Let's just say that Aomine was beyond terrified after hearing that. Kuroko muffled his giggles.
"Tetsuya, do not freak him out than he already is," Akashi said and Kuroko muttered a quick apology. "Also Daiki, you are hurting me," he added, feeling Aomine's nails dig onto the skin of his arm. Aomine had then just realized that was clutching Akashi like his life depended on it.
He let go. "S-sorry…"
The ride had gone inside painfully slow (at least for Aomine) and everything was shrouded in darkness except for some gruesome looking props and figures that were touched by the lights every now and then. Hues of midnight blue, misty white and moss green played around, and eerie sounds Aomine wish he didn't hear echoed throughout the vicinity. He could feel more fear creeping under his skin and it'd only been thirty seconds.
Akashi was starting to wonder whether or not it was Aomine that made the train car shake so much.
A few random apparitions have started to pop up from random places, but generally nothing that would give someone a heart attack. Aomine was trying his best not to clutch on Akashi again. Akashi was merely observing, and Kuroko was at the back, watching in delight at Aomine's reactions he would later tell the rest of the group about. All in all, it was bearable.
"It's not so bad," Kuroko commented.
Alas, as he had spoken too soon.
The train got deeper, darker into the house, and the effects and props had gotten worse. What really did it for, not just Aomine, but everyone else on the ride was when Sadako had suddenly chased the train from behind. Aomine let out a rather girlish scream (which blended pretty nicely with a group of female college students screaming their lungs off as well) and only stopped when the woman had disappeared (which wasn't after a good five seconds). Other famous movie inspired ghosts followed after, and Aomine was doing his best to keep his sanity intact. Even Akashi had started to feel his cheeks pale—just slightly.
At that point, everything was just so scary and real, it was ridiculous. The ghosts can go so much as to touch you, and that wasn't a very pleasant thing for Akashi.
"Very funny, Tetsuya," Akashi said when he felt a hand creep onto his shoulder.
"Akashi-kun, that isn't me," Kuroko replied. Akashi figured he wasn't lying when he realized how bony and cold the hand was when he tried swatting it away. The feared captain (or in this case, captain in fear) turned to where the hand had come from and was met, eye to eye, with an ugly looking woman. Her long hair was dishevelled across the face, her eyes bright and yellow, and her grin horrifying as if she'd just had a killing spree of little children.
Akashi turned away. "Tetsuya, get us out of here."
"I didn't know you were terrified of ghosts, Akashi-kun."
"I am not. I just feel…" And then something hairy caressed Akashi's face. "…uncomfortable. NOBODY OPPOSES ME, TETSUYA."
Kuroko only sat back and shrugged. It wasn't as though he could do something about it. And even if he could, he wouldn't—he felt guilty about that. He was enjoying his teammates' dismay more than he should be. "I apologize, Akashi-kun. But we have to wait until the train ride is finished. Ah, where are you going, Aomine?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Aomine spat frantically, violently removing the straps off of him, panting heavily as he did. Damn, those straps were on tight. "Before it's too late!" Suddenly, he felt a strong grip hold him down, limiting his movement. He turned at the source, and with help from what little light available, saw Akashi looking gravely at him.
"No, Daiki. You must endure this with me."
The rest of the ride was spent with Aomine screaming ever so often, Akashi sunken in his seat, trying not to get touched, and a very entertained Kuroko.
It was a great suggestion indeed.
Spiders
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" It was really pointless asking now since Midorima knew he wasn't able going to back out anyway. And it was a regret not doing so when he had the chance. Momoi was able to persuade him yet again (the shooter never did learn his lesson from earlier). Darn her for dragging his lucky item into this! Saying that she was going to throw it into the ride if he didn't come along, that was foul play at its worst!
"Loosen up, Midorin! This is going to be exciting!" Momoi exclaimed and gave Murasakibara a little nudge. "Right, Mukkun?"
The purple-haired giant replied in between munches, chew on snacks Momoi and Midorima still had no idea how Murasakibara had managed to sneak in, even when the rules of every ride in the whole place had clearly stated that food and beverages weren't allowed.
"Would you stop eating?" Midorima scolded, the second time that day (Murasakibara snacking really got to him), but Murasakibara only shrugged and turned away.
The three were on a ride called... Even Midorima couldn't pronounce. But it looked like a giant Araneae, or what was generally known as a spider. The eight legs of the ride spread wide a cross the distance, and on each end was a car that fit exactly three people (oh, how convenient. They would all get to witness each other's reactions). Midorima didn't know what was about to happen, but when the spider lifted its legs, he knew he wasn't going to like it.
"M-Momoi, it's moving..." Midorima said, voice shaking, hinting how nervous he was.
"Silly, Midorin! It's supposed to move!"
"The spider is going to walk now," Murasakibara said in a drawled sing-song tone.
"N-no! Don't make it walk!"
A buzz had sounded in the air, and two seconds later, they were being spun around like a top. Midorima had to hold his glasses to his face to keep it from flying away. Murasakibara's sweets were all over the place (he heard a woman scream from behind, and he was pretty sure his half-eaten umaibo had hit her on the face. Oops). Momoi was all smiles having the time of her life as she raised her arms up. Midorima feared for her arms.
"M-make it stop!" The shooter commanded, cheeks flapping like the extra skin of a flying squirrel. As if on cue, the ride did slowly come to a stop—much to Midorima's relief.
"Aw, no..." Momoi groaned dejectedly, smile disappearing. "I wanted one more round." But as if the deities had heard her plea, a little girl not older than eight years old, had practically begged for the ride go again. How could the conductor say turn down her cute, innocent little kid smile?
The crowd cheered, and so did Momoi, when the buzz sounded again.
"No more, please!" Midorima yelled. And he actually said the 'P' word!
When the ride had ended, Midorima didn't get his vision straight until the next five minutes. Momoi immediately came up the little girl and thanked her for the extra round, and Murasakibara threw up again.
Intermission – Kise
Kise stepped out of the photo booth for the twenty-sixth time that hour, and was met by a long—very long line of giddy teenage girls. He'd ushered one of them inside for yet another picture.
"HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME LIKE THIS?!" Kise screamed to the heavens above, cue dramatic exasperated pose, before following after the girl.
Water Rides
The log, in which it carried seven peculiar teenagers, came to a full stop on the line and drizzled—no. It was more of a giant wave really, that came down straight at them and hit them right in the face. To think that a few splashes of water earlier in the ride was bad enough, this thoroughly soaked them from head to waist with cold water. 'Damn freezing' was how Aomine would like to put it. The displeasure was spread across his face.
"What, is it winter already? What's with the damn freezing water!" Aomine complained through gritted teeth, rubbing his arms for warmth, and stepped out the ride.
"And not even a towel," Midorima added, following after the ace, as he wiped his lucky item with a handkerchief that was just as badly soaked as the rest of him. "This isn't good for Tak-chan."
"Did you just name your thingy?" Aomine gave him an incredulous look, and Midorima stiffened at this, as though Aomine had thought it was the oddest thing in the world.
"Isn't it normal to name your things?" The answer was left unspoken.
Kise ran his fingers through his blonde locks, shaking the water off as girls gawked at him from the sidelines, squealing and giggling, and being fangirls in general. Apparently, the 'wet look' was popular among his fans. Kuroko was soothingly rubbing Murasakibara's back. Though he had not taken a single bite out of his snack, it appeared that he had sea sickness (in this case, river sickness). And Akashi, well, nobody really wanted to get into his personal bubble and find out.
Momoi, in the meanwhile, was wringing her hair, the high of the ride still coursing in her veins. "I wanna go again!" She said, tossing her now damp locks over her shoulder. As Momoi did this, Aomine snapped his head at her in disbelief, just about to state that she was out of her mind for wanting to go again, when he'd stopped with his mouth hanging open.
"What's wrong Aomine-kun?"
"I—you—I..." Aomine began to stutter incoherent words, enough that it made the team look back at him for his uncharacteristic behavior. Then they'd realize just exactly why.
Momoi's still soaked shirt had become just a little bit see through, her cute peach printed bra a little more noticeable, and her figure just a little bit more prominent. Aomine never really did realize how much Momoi grew. Neither did the rest of the boys.
After awhile—a very long awkward while—Aomine finally managed a straight face. He slipped his jacket off and threw it at her. "Here," he said. Momoi fumbled slightly, catching it suddenly.
"Take mine, too," Midorima said. Although, what he'd given her was his handkerchief.
"Mine too, Sa-chin!" Murasakibara added, taking off his cardigan and flopping it over her head.
"You are not allowed to ride another water ride again, Satsuki," Akashi sounded definite, even giving Momoi that stern captain look he always gave the team before the beginning of a game, reminding them of living up to their motto, 'Ever-Victorious'—that meant his orders were not to be defied.
Then the boys walked away.
"What? What's with all these! And where are you all going?" Momoi was outraged as they had just dumped all their stuff with her without even an explanation.
"To the souvenir store," Midorima said.
"Why?"
"To get you dry clothes!" They said in chorus and never turned back.
Kuroko was kind enough to accompany Momoi until the rest of the team had returned, but didn't answer questions when Momoi pestered him why. He simply helped her cover up.
Notes:
Story one: we all know the lovely gruesome Sadako from The Ring, right?
Story two: Aranaea means spider.
Story four: totally irrelevant but regarding Midorima's lucky item's name, MidoTaka is the OTP, and so Tak for Takao.
The last installment for this theme is on the works and I am determined to publish it before the end of the month. Thank you for your suggestions, too! Your participation makes me happy! (And at least now I know people actually read my author's note).
Also, belated happy birthday to our favourite pink haired manager, Satsuki! (5/4) I feel so bad for missing it, I really wanted to celebrate.
