'Wake up sleepyhead.' Hannah says as she shakes me gently. I open my eyes and wonder where I am as she kisses my cheek. 'You look so lost.'
'I was fast asleep. I didn't expect to sleep because I didn't feel tired.' I say.
'Are you ready to shop?' Hannah asks. I groan and close my eyes again.
'Matt Grey you're not getting out of it that easily.' Hannah says as she whips back the duvet.
Whoa.' Mia says as she walks into the room.
'Fuck.' I say as Hannah throws the duvet back over me.
'I'm sorry, I didn't realise you had nothing on.' Hannah says as Mia turns and walks straight back out again. 'I didn't know Mia would just walk in.'
'You left the door open.' I say. 'I'm going in the shower.' I climb out of bed and head straight for the bathroom.
'Matt.' Hannah says. I ignore her and go and stand under the shower and let the water hammer away the tiredness and anger. I quickly dry myself and wrapping the towel around me I make my way back into the bedroom. Hannah is sat in the chair watching me cautiously.
'Are you angry?' Hannah asks quietly.
'No. I'm sorry, I woke up grumpy and then Mia. I'm sorry.' I say quietly. I start to dress and Hannah comes over to hug me. I hug her back.
'I'm sorry to. I should have shut the door and I shouldn't have taken the duvet off you.' Hannah says and then smiles.
'What's so funny?' I ask puzzled.
'You certainly gave Mia something to look at.' Hannah says. I frown and then smile.
'She's seen me without any clothes on plenty of times.' I say as I finish dressing. 'When Christian was here I didn't think anything of undressing in front of him.'
'That's different. Mia is a girl and you had an…' Hannah says before I interrupt her.
'OK. I couldn't help it, you'd just kissed me and I wanted you.' I say. 'Mia will be fine, it takes a lot to embarrass her.'
'What about you?' Hannah asks. I shrug. 'You were embarrassed.' I nod. I turn and grab my blackberry, wallet and shove them in my pocket. 'Talk to me.' Hannah says gently.
'I'm not sure how I'm feeling.' I say. 'I think I'll be embarrassed when I see Mia.'
'Let's go and find out, are you ready to leave?' Hannah asks.
'Yes.' I say unsurely. Hannah gives me another hug.
'Don't worry about it, if Mia teases you then she'll have me to deal with.' Hannah says. I grin at her.
'You're getting your feisty side back.' I say.
'It's about time.' She says. 'I need to be tough because people might give us a hard time.'
'Let them.' I say as I hug her and place my hand on her stomach. 'As long as we're ok, that's all that matters now.' She places her hand on top of mine and then lets her lips brush against mine.
'Let's go have some fun.' Hannah says as she takes my hand and leads me to the door.
'Fun, I would hardly call shopping that.' I mutter as we head down the stairs.
'We're here to change your mind on that.' Mia says as we meet her in the hallway.
'Oh you heard me.' I say.
'Yes and I booked a haircut for you, I can cancel if you don't want it done now.' Mia says.
'It needs doing.' I say.
'Good because I've also booked me and Hannah in for a facial at the same time. Is that OK for you Hannah?' Mia asks.
'Sure, I'm happy with that. I've never had one before.' Hannah says.
'It will relax you and my baby brother needs to learn how to spoil you so he can pay.' Mia says and grins at me. Shit Mia is going to have me spend all my money.
'Let's go.' I mutter and head outside. 'Has Mrs Richards gone home?'
'Not yet, she was going to lock up behind us.' Mia says. I open the car door and she climbs in, Hannah next to her. Sawyer appears with Ryan and Andrews.
'Matthew, I'll drive this car. Ryan and Andrews will follow in the other.' Sawyer says.
'OK thanks.' I say and climb into the back behind Hannah and Mia.
'Are you OK there Matt?' Hannah asks.
'Yes I'm good. You two can get on with your girly gossip if you're next to each other.' I say. As Sawyer pulls away I lose myself in my own thoughts though I don't have long with them because we're soon pulling up outside a smart salon and spa. Sawyer has jumped out and already has the girls' door open. I open my own door and climb out.
'I'll wait here with the car.' Sawyer says and I nod at him as Mia takes control and leads me and Hannah inside.
'You'll probably be finished before us Matt.' Mia says.
'That's OK, I'll wait for you either here or in the car.' I say. The receptionist smiles at us as we approach and Mia hands over my credit card. As I sign the receptionist goes to hand it back to Mia but I take it. 'You've had it long enough Mia, I think I need to take control of it.' I smile at her and she grins back at me.
'I wondered how long you would have let me have it for.' Mia says. 'We'll see you in an hour or so baby bro and thanks for paying.'
'I didn't have a choice.' I say and then turn to Hannah. 'Have fun and enjoy baby.' I say to her quietly as I kiss her ear.
'Thanks Matt, see you later.' Hannah says as she follows Mia.
'Mr Grey, this way.' A young blond says to me. She must only be a couple of years older than me. 'My names Kayleigh and I'll be looking after you today. Would you like anything to drink?'
'No thank you, I'm OK.' I say politely but think to myself I only came in for a haircut not to socialise. I follow her through to a back room and she points to a chair.
'So what can I do for you today?' Kayleigh asks as she runs her fingers through my hair. I freeze, I don't want to be here.
'Cut short at the back and sides and trimmed on top.' I find myself saying.
'Can I wash it for you first?' she asks.
'No thanks, I'm in a hurry. I have some shopping I need to do.' I mutter but don't look her in the eye through the mirror. She starts with the clippers but still asks me questions.
'How long are you staying here Mr Grey?' she asks.
'I'm not sure yet, maybe just the weekend but maybe longer.' I say cautiously.
'And the girls you came in with, is one your girlfriend?' she asks. I'm becoming suspicious now but decide to have some fun with her as I don't want a bad cut.
'No, ones my sister and the other is just a friend.' I say and smile at her.
'Have you got a girlfriend?' she asks as she runs her fingers through the long top curls and smiles at me in the mirror.
'No I've never had one.' I say and she grins at me.
'How old are you?' she asks.
'Does it matter?' I fire back at her.
'No but I just wanted to check. Is it true that you're a billionaire?' she asks.
'Where did you hear that?' I ask.
'Some of the girls were talking when the appointment was made and they said you were.' She says.
'No, I've got a nice house on the island and that's about it.' I say. 'I've just come to visit it for the first time in a while to see if I could live here permanently. It looks good up to now, I like the surf and who knows maybe I'll move in a few weeks.' She drinks in all the info that I've fed her and I feel guilty but I know if this gets out who leaked it. She starts trimming the top and continues to probe.
'So what do you like to do in your free time?' she asks.
'Go clubbing, get drunk and throw wild parties.' I say and she grins at me once more.
'Really, I might see you out and about this weekend then. I usually go to one of the clubs in Waikiki with my friends.' She says.
'Cool, which one?' I say encouragingly.
'It's at the Imperial Hotel, it's one of the best and they're not fussy who they let in. Some of them only let in VIP's and a small number of normal people and they have to queue for ages. I'd rather be in straight away and having a drink and dancing.' She says.
'Yeah me too, I might see you there then.' I say and think there's no way that we're going to that one. I feel a bit guilty winding her up like this but I just want a decent haircut and to get out of here. Never again, I'll go to Franco in future, I don't care if he does work for Mrs Lincoln. It's a risk I'm willing to take if I do bump into her. Maybe I'll ask Christian's advice, after all he cuts his hair as well.
'That would be good. I've finished now. How does it feel?' she says as she holds up a mirror to show me the back.
'That's great thank you.' I say as she hands me a tissue and I brush my own neck with it. I don't want her touching me anymore. I stand and follow her back to reception and leaving a tip make my exit. It feels good to be out in the fresh air again. I head back to the car and climb in the front next to Sawyer. I explain what's just happened to me and he smiles finding the whole thing hilarious.
'I'll let Taylor know so they can be on the alert for anything that might get back to the PR department. Don't worry, nothing can be published without permission.' Sawyer says reassuringly.
'Thanks Sawyer.' I say. 'I'm going to head into that electrical store for a look around whilst the girls are still in the spa.' I say.
'OK, do you want one of the others to follow you while I call Taylor?' Sawyer asks.
'No I'll be OK, I'll come straight out if I have any problems.' I say. I enter and my eyes light up. There is everything on sale here. I have a good look at the latest cameras, camcorders, macs, ipods and ipads. A sales man in his forties comes to my aid and I spend the next half hour happily talking to him and eventually buying a few things. I buy myself a new ipad, the one that Christian bought me has hardly been mine as Hannah has used it more than I have. I buy Hannah a macbook as she doesn't even own a basic laptop, I also get her a new camera of her own and some lenses and to share a small point and shoot camera and a camcorder. I thank the man for all his help and carry my purchases back to the car. Sawyer helps me load them all into the trunk and they are safely stowed just as the girls exit the spa. Sawyer opens the car door and they climb in as I get in the front passenger seat.
'Good time?' I ask them both.
'Yes it was so relaxing.' Hannah says. 'I really enjoyed it.'
'Good.' I say. 'Let's get out of here Sawyer, we'll go to the mall now.'
'What's the rush?' Mia asks.
'I just didn't like the place.' I say.
'Why?' Mia asks.
'Because they asked too many questions.' I mutter. 'Did they ask you two anything?'
'Yes.' They both say and start giggling. I whip my head round to look at them.
'What's so funny?' I ask.
'Matt I'm sorry, the two girls that gave us the facials were being so nosy but we cottoned on to the fact straight away. I winked at Hannah and she gave me a small smile so I knew she would go along with my answers. They were asking loads of questions about you. Did you have a girlfriend? What were you like? That sort of thing so I answered that you'd never had a girlfriend and that the rumour at school was that you're gay. Hannah confirmed it and said that she was just a friend and even though you'd been to loads of parties together you'd never kissed a girl and that you preferred the company of men.' Mia says and they both giggle again.
'I'm sorry.' Hannah says. 'It did seem funny at the time.' I turn back to the front and can see Sawyers lips twitch. We stop again as Sawyer parks the car.
'One of us will stay with the cars but two of us will follow you this time. We will be at a discreet distance.' Sawyer says as he gets out of the car and opens Mia's door, I get out and open Hannah's.
'I'm sorry for what we said, have I upset you?' Hannah asks.
'No not at all, it's OK. I had pretty much the same treatment and I also said that I didn't have and hadn't had a girlfriend. I'm sorry I was trying to protect you.' I say quietly.
'That's OK Matt I understand, we don't need this sort of attention right now. Do we just pretend we're friends whilst we're at the mall?' Hannah asks.
'Do you think that's best?' I ask.
'Yes, we just need to be careful and discreet whilst we're out and about. Smart haircut by the way, it suits you when it's that short.' Hannah says and I smile at her.
'Thanks. It will feel strange walking round and not holding your hand.' I say.
'It won't be for long, shall we have ice cream first at least we can sit next to each other then.' She asks.
'Sure.' I say and we head into the mall. 'OK Mia, where's the ice cream parlour?'
'Just at the far end.' Mia says as she glances in various store windows that we pass.
'I just need to stop at the bank first and get some cash.' I say.
'Matt just use your card everywhere.' Mia says.
'I'd rather have some cash.' I mutter as I stop at a machine and insert my card. Mia and Hannah leave me to it as they look in a jeweller's window nearby. I take out a couple of hundred dollars and then make my way over to the girls, Mia is looking at the bracelets and trying to encourage Hannah to say what she likes.
'That one would suit you.' Mia says to Hannah.
'But look at the price, it's twenty four thousand dollars. I'd be frightened to wear it.' Hannah says.
'Let's go and see what it looks like on.' I say as I come up behind her.
'Oh yes, let's go inside.' Mia says with excitement, she needs no encouragement and practically drags Hannah in to look. I smile at my sister, she certainly knows how to coax Hannah into situations that she is not accustomed with. Mia would think nothing of spending that amount on a bracelet. I follow behind and leave Mia to deal with the shop assistant. They both fall in love with the same bracelet after trying them on and admiring them.
'We'll take them both.' I hear myself saying and get out my credit card which I hand to the assistant.
'Would you like them gift wrapped Sir.' The assistant asks.
'Yes please.' I say.
'Matt no.' Hannah says as Mia squeals with delight.
'Hannah, just accept the gift. It's easier that way. Thank you baby bro.' Mia says and comes to hug me.
'Thanks Matt.' Hannah says as she also comes to hug me.
'That's OK, my sister and 'friend' with matching bracelets.' I say as I smirk at them. They both grin back at me. 'Can we go for ice cream now, I think I need a sit down after spending that much in one hit.'
'Sure.' They both say as the assistant hands them both identical bags. We exit the store and walk the length of the mall until we come to my favourite place.
'So what's it to be Matt, vanilla.' Mia says.
'No.' I say and she looks at me in surprise. 'I'm going to look before I decide.'
'I'm having lemon.' Mia says.
'Strawberry for me.' Hannah says. I look up and down the cabinet at the flavours and colors but am still undecided. I would really like the vanilla but know that I should go through with the decision to try something new.
'Would you like to try any before you decide?' The friendly man on the other side asks. I look at him and smile.
'Yes please, could I try the big island inspiration?' I ask. OK so it's a bit of a cheat, it's still vanilla but with chunks of fudge brownie and chocolate. 'That's good.' I say.
'Anymore?' the man asks.
'The pineapple please.' I say and he hands me a small spoon. That's good as well. 'Are you still sure about what you want?' I ask the girls, they both nod. 'How many scoops?'
'Just one.' They both reply and smile at each other.
'Tub or cone?' I ask.
'Tub.' They both reply and start giggling. I roll my eyes at them.
'Go and sit down and I'll bring them over.' I say and then turn back to the man. 'Please could we have a tub with one scoop of strawberry, another with one scoop of lemon and then in the final tub a scoop of the big island inspiration, one of pineapple and two of the vanilla.'
'Someone likes their ice cream.' He says.
'If I could get away with it that's all I'd eat.' I say and he smiles at me. I pay and thank him and then take the tubs over to where Mia and Hannah have seated themselves. I sit down next to Hannah and she looks at the ice cream I've chosen.
'Are you seriously going to eat all that.' Hannah says.
'Yes.' I mutter.
'Hannah this is the only reason we have got him to the mall today. He will never change, ice cream is his thing. Some people like chocolate, others wine but Matt likes his ice cream.' Mia says and smiles at me.
'Try this one, it's pineapple and is really good.' I say and pass my tub around. Both girls agree with me and say we should come every day to have a different flavour. 'We could just take a lot of tubs back with us and then we won't have to come out.'
'Matt, you're more of a hermit than Christian ever has been.' Mia says.
'Well after the experience at the salon and spa I'm not surprised.' I mutter. 'Right I've finished, let's go and get the rest of the shopping done.'
'We're not rushing.' Mia says as she stands. 'We need to have a good look everywhere.'
'OK I'll just follow.' I say.
'With your credit card.' Mia says and they both giggle again. Am I ever going to get used to this girly giggling that they have, they seem to do it together on cue and I don't even know why half the time. They are both chatting excitedly now about which store we're going in first. I follow them into the first store and they both choose pretty summer dresses and new shoes each and they smile at me as I pay. The next few stores are the same, I follow, they choose something and I pay.
'Your turn now.' Mia says as we enter a small boutique that just does mens clothes.
'Mia, I'm OK.' I say.
'Just try a few things on.' Hannah says, she's certainly caught on quick with Mia's guidance.
'OK.' I mutter sulkily. They both pick out a few things for me and I go to try them on. Shirts, trousers, a jacket, shorts, swimming shorts and polo shirts and then a couple of t-shirts. They want to see everything as I try and when I've finished they've made two piles, one to buy and the other is what they didn't like. Hang on don't I get a say in this I think. Hannah comes to hug me.
'That's the stuff you looked really hot in.' she whispers to me. I smile at her.
'And the other stuff?' I say.
'You still looked good in it but it's similar to what you wear all the time.' Hannah says.
'So if I just bought it all then I don't need to do any other shopping for a while.' I say.
'That's one way of looking at it I suppose.' Hannah says.
'Matt you're such a spoilsport.' Mia says.
'I'm sorry, I'll get it all and then we can concentrate on any shops that you two still have left to go in.' I say.
'You still need shoes.' Mia says.
'Can I get those in here?' I ask.
'No next door.' Hannah says.
'OK, Ryan can take all these bags back to the car whilst we're in there.' I say as I get my credit card out once more to pay. Once we've handed all the bags to Ryan we wander into the shoe store. Hannah and Mia coax me into getting some smart black shoes whilst I go for some new converse and some flip flops. I see both girls eyeing up some sandals so instruct them to try them on and then end up paying for them as well. 'Have we finished?' I ask hopefully.
'Just about, can we stop at a supermarket and get some chips, popcorn and chocolate and a couple of DVD's and have a movie night when we get back?' Mia asks. I look at Hannah who smiles at me and nods.
'OK Mia, let's head back to the car for now and Sawyer can take us to one before dropping us at CJ's.' I say.
'Have you enjoyed your shopping trip?' Mia asks.
'It wasn't as bad as I expected.' I say.
'So you'll bring us again.' Mia says.
'I'm not sure my bank account can cope with another trip.' I say as we approach the car and I open the door for them.
'We can spend our own money next time.' Mia says.
'And buy you ice cream.' Hannah says and smiles at me.
'I'll think about it.' I say and they both giggle at me again for some unknown reason. 'Sawyer please can you take us to the supermarket nearest to CJ's.'
'Of course.' Sawyer replies and starts to drive.
'Will you eat there whilst we do?' I ask.
'If you're sure, we'll take another table close by.' Sawyer says.
'Yes I'm sure, you need to eat. Also if you need anything from the supermarket you might as well shop with us and put it in our cart.' I say.
'Thanks, I'll tell Ryan and Andrews the plans.' He says and starts to speak into his headset. I sit and listen to the music that's playing quietly and am interrupted by Sawyer 'Matthew would Target be OK to stop at? This is closest to CJ's.'
'Sure, does it sell what the girls want? They were after DVD's, popcorn, chips and chocolate.' I say.
'Yes, it sells everything.' Sawyer says with a small smile on his face. He must think I'm clueless but when it comes to shopping I am. Five minutes later he's pulling up in the parking lot at Target. I climb out and open Hannah's door once more.
'I can't wait until we're home and have privacy once more.' I say to her.
'Me too, there are some benefits to being a hermit.' She smirks at me.
'You can push the cart for that comment.' I say.
'In my condition.' She whispers in my ear.
'OK I'll do it.' I say as we walk towards the entrance. I grab a cart and start to push. 'You two go and choose what you want, I'll catch you up.'
'Where are you going?' Mia asks.
'Toys.' I say.
'Matt you're eighteen now.' Mia says.
'So, they still do toys for people my age.' I say.
'Will you ever grow up?' Mia asks. I shrug at her as I walk off towards the back of the store. I quickly find what I'm looking for, some Lego Technic. It's been a while since I had any of this stuff and there are lots of new sets out. I choose a motorized truck and a SUV before heading over towards the electronics. Something catches my eye and I'm hooked. A PS vita. When I was small I had Gameboys but nothing like this. I ask the salesman if he can get me one and add a few games that I like the look of. By the time I find the girls my arms are laden, I should have got my own cart.
'Matt.' Hannah says. I grin at her.
'It will keep him quiet while we watch our films.' Mia states and grins at me.
'What did you choose?' I ask.
'Romantic comedys.' Hannah says.
'No cartoons.' I ask.
'Certainly not, if you want anything like that you can go and look for yourself.' Mia says. 'We'll meet you in the grocery section.' Once again I wander off on my own to find the DVD's. I smile when I see the selection but just pick up a few Simpsons ones. When I find the cart again it is almost full.
'Matt, do you want any snacks?' Mia asks. I stand and look, I don't normally eat this sort of stuff. I have a look in the cart to see what they already have and then back at the shelf. I've seen kids at school eat all this stuff but I've never been interested in it. Sweets, chocolate, chips, cookies. I pick up a pack of cookies, I think I will be OK with these. 'Is that it?' Mia asks.
'I don't know.' I whisper. Hannah takes my hand.
'It's OK, you can try the stuff that we've chosen and see if you like any of it.' Hannah says gently.
'Are you sure?' I ask and she nods. 'I don't know what I like.'
'It's OK, you'll soon figure it out.' she says. 'Let's go and pay.'
'Did security put any of their stuff in?' I ask on the way to the checkout.
'No, they took their own cart.' Mia says. 'Oh look they're just in front of us, we can catch them up and go through together.'
'I'll go and speak to them, I'll pay for all of it.' I say and the girls smile at me. 'Sawyer put your stuff on the belt and we'll add ours on after you then I'll pay all in one go.'
'Matthew we have put beer, books, magazines, food, playing cards and toiletries in the cart. We can't expect you to pay for all that.' Sawyer says.
'Sawyer it's fine, I want to. You can stand at the end and bag it all up and then load it in the car.' I say.
'Thank you Matthew.' Sawyer says as he moves forward and starts to pack. Ryan and Andrews load the bags into the cart. Once I've paid we wander back to the car together, the mood is light, everyone is in a happy holiday mode including the security. The journey to the burger place doesn't take long. I slip into the same side of the booth as Hannah, Mia is opposite us. The three security are a few tables away but they have a good view of our table and the rest of the place, we are more secluded. I place my hand on Hannah's thigh and she smiles at me.
'What are you having to eat?' Mia asks
'I don't know I've just picked up the menu.' I say.
'There's a first, you actually looking at the menu.' Mia says and smiles at me.
'And here's another first, I'm going to have a burger with fries.' I say. Mia gasps in shock.
'Matt are you sure.' Hannah asks.
'Yes I'm sure, what sort do you have?' I ask her.
'The one with pineapple.' Hannah says.
'I'm having the one with cheese.' Mia says as the waitress comes over to take the order. 'Are you ready Matt?'
'I think so, you two order first.' I say whilst I have one last look at the menu and when they've finished I turn to the waitress. 'Please could I have the burger with cheese and bacon and a side of fries and a diet coke.' I say and smile at her.
'Sure, thanks for your order I'll bring the drinks straight away.' She says. Hannah places her hand on the top of my leg and gives it a small squeeze. I smile shyly at her.
'Wow Matt. I'm impressed.' Mia says. 'I'm just going to the bathroom.' She adds as she stands. I look at Sawyer and he nods and gets up to follow Mia. I take Hannah's hand in mine but still keep it under the table.
'I'm impressed as well.' Hannah says quietly.
'I'm trying to be normal but it's hard after all this time. I felt so lost earlier when I was looking at all the snacks in Target. I really didn't have a clue.' I say.
'Hey, you're doing fine. You are trying and that's all that matters and you've done so much new stuff this afternoon. I love you.' Hannah says.
'I love you too baby, I've enjoyed this afternoon but I want to get back to the house as well so that I can hug you properly.' I say.
'And build your lego.' Hannah says with a smile.
'Yes, it will keep me occupied whilst you watch your DVD's, I'm not great watching films especially romantic comedy.' I say.
'You should try, you might enjoy it. I take it we won't go to the cinema often then.' She says.
'Do you like to go?' I ask and she nods. 'Then I will take you. If I don't like the film I'll just plug myself into my ipod.'
'Oh Matt you are so funny.' She says as Mia takes her seat once more.
'Matt do I seriously need security following me to the bathroom?' Mia asks.
'Yes, just learn to live with it and ignore that they're there.' I say.
'Over protective.' Mia says.
'No, I just care that you are OK. We've come out for dinner and security won't have done a sweep to make sure everywhere is safe so just let them follow you. It makes them happy and me happy. They will be reporting back to Taylor who of course will tell Christian. Just play his game Mia , it means he'll relax and then if you do need to take a risk where security is concerned they won't be expecting it so just work with them.' I say.
'You're right, I'm sorry.' Mia says as the waitress brings our drinks. 'So any plans for tomorrow?'
'Zoo.' I say hopefully and look at Hannah. 'Please.' Both girls laugh at me.
'You're like a little boy again, first the lego and now the zoo.' Mia says.
'Well I figured I had to go through that phase again in order to grow up properly.' I say and stick my tongue out at her to prove the point.
'I'd love to come to the zoo with you.' Hannah says. I look at Mia questionably.
'I'll come as long as you both don't mind me tagging along again.' Mia says.
'We don't.' both Hannah and I say together and this time we laugh and Mia rolls her eyes at us. Our food arrives and we all dig in. I also see that Sawyer's table is served their food at the same time. The place is obviously very popular as it is starting to get very busy now.
'That was the best burger and fries I have ever had.' I say and both girls are giggling once more. 'What's so funny?' I ask.
'Considering it's the only burger and fries you've ever had it's hardly surprising.' Mia says.
'Are you finished?' I ask, they both nod. 'Do you want dessert?'
'No thanks.' Mia says.
'I'm OK thanks and that was lovely, I really enjoyed it.' Hannah says.
'Good, I'll get the check and then we can go.' I say. The waitress comes to clear the plates and I ask for the bill for our table and the security one. Once I've paid we stand to leave as Sawyer and the others do as well. As we go to exit a large man blocks our way and I'm not sure if it's intentional or not.
'Excuse me.' I say in the hope that he moves. 'Please could we get past?'
'No.' he says menacingly and lurches towards me. I move back but stumble slightly and that's when Sawyer and his team take over. Sawyer steadies me and the other two take the man outside.
'Sawyer I think he has a knife, I saw the glint.' I say quickly. 'Go and help them.'
'Here take the car keys and wait for me there. Lock yourselves in.' He says and then he goes to help Ryan and Andrews.
'Come on girls, let's get out of here and do as Sawyer asks.' I say. 'Are you both OK?' They nod but they look a little shaken. I open the car door and they both get in quickly. I sit in the front passenger seat, locking the doors as Sawyer asked.
'Matt are you OK?' Hannah asks.
'Don't worry, it could have been anyone. It's probably just a random guy who thought he could try it on.' I say. 'Sawyer will be back soon and then we can get home.'
'Home.' Mia asks.
'You know what I mean, home on the island.' I say but think to myself it does feel like my home.
