When everything's meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

Chapter 12

Morgan tapped the pen on the desk.

It was a stressful time of year with coursework being handed in and Morgan would love to stop for Christmas.

But Morgan didn't.

It was weird but she didn't want to stop.

It wasn't because Aaron couldn't have Christmas and New Years off as Morgan had made sure he booked it off at the earliest available time. But that was the problem.

She didn't know how to tackle it but she knew that this Christmas wasn't one to forget.

Aaron looked up at the clock.

It was 2 hours till Christmas Eve and he was excited.

He knew that with the change of religion, new festivals came around but he had never celebrated them.

Although he did make Morgan celebrate midwinter a couple of days ago.

Aaron had noticed that there was something off with Morgan lately and couldn't put his finger on what was the problem.

He didn't think he had done something and he had hoped that Hugo had left her alone after their little falling out.

So why was she off?

He was tempted to ask Mrs Jennings what she thought it was, but Morgan may catch onto it and think that he was keep tabs on her.

He wanted to know so badly but he would have thought that she would have just come out with it.

Aaron stopped leaning on the table and went to his patient.

He just hoped that everything would sort itself out.

Aaron was lying on the sofa with Morgan on top of him, her head lying on his chest.

They were watching Sherlock box set before it came back on on New Years.

They had watched all 6 episodes so many times but they still excited them as they tried to work out how he worked it out, even if they knew the answer.

"Morgs." Aaron said.

"Yes." Morgan said looking up at him.

"Is something wrong?"

Morgan sat up so she was leaning on her arm. "Everything is fine."

Aaron nodded and looked back at the TV. "Okay."

Morgan thought it weird that he just dropped it.

"Why do you ask?"

Aaron looked up at her.

"You just have seemed off the past few weeks. I had originally put it down to stress due to the coursework. Yet you have had a few days off and you still seem as tense as you did then."

Morgan looked down at her hands.

"I am going to go to bed." She said getting up.

Aaron just nodded. She obviously just wanted time to think it over.

Anyway it was on his favourite episode, The Great Game.

Christmas morning came and Aaron was like a child.

Morgan laughed at him. "You know they say that men never mature."

Aaron laughed with her. "Don' t we all? We just learn how to act in public."

He came up and kissed her.

He just looked into her eyes. "I am so glad I found you again."

Morgan placed her hands on his shoulders. "As I am you."

Aaron smiled and released her from his hold. He dragged her to the sofa and told her to sit down.

He got the little bag from behind the tree and gave it to her.

Morgan smiled as he sat crossed legged in front of her.

She opened the bag and took out the little box.

She smiled as she opened it.

It was a gold bracelet with old English written around it. The bracelet was like a cuff but had a chain to clip together.

"Thank you Aaron."

Aaron sat there smiling to himself. He had impressed her.

"I hope you brought me an old English dictionary so I can read what it says." Morgan joked.

"Why have a dictionary when I can speak it."

Aaron took the bracelet and placed it on her wrist.

"Mín bróðorlufu, nú ond ferhþ"

"Which is?" Morgan asked leaning in close to Aaron.

"My love, now and forever." He said looking up.

He swears that he could count every eyelash that she had.

"Thank you." She whispered to him.

He kissed her which she gladly returned.

"Now for my present." Morgan said standing up out of Aaron's reach.

Aaron just looked up at her.

"To be honest, I didn't know what to get you. What do you get someone that has lived for thousands for years?" Morgan laughed. "But I knew that the right present would come along."

Morgan bent down so she was kneeling in front of Aaron. She took both of his hands and rested them on her abdomen.

"That's why you have been off." Aaron said smiling at her.

Morgan nodded. "We will be married then this little one will come along."

Aaron couldn't stop smiling.

"This is the future that we always dreamed of isn't it?"

Morgan matched Aaron's smile. "Unfortunately it had to be a few centuries to late."

Morgan parked up the car.

"Are you sure we have to have Christmas with my family?" She said looking up at the house.

Aaron smiled. "It was you that couldn't refuse your father."

Morgan huffed. "Don't remind me."

"Come on it cannot be that bad can it?"

Aaron underestimated how competitive they all are.

Every game they played ended in cheating.

Aaron was really the only one playing it right.

They even stopped the game and went to watch the TV. They got worse then.

Watching strictly come dancing was a nightmare. They kept betting on different people to win and then Morgan accused Arthur of taking her person.

Aaron reminded himself that he was defiantly not coming for Christmas again.

Everything settled down when Doctor Who came on and Aaron liked the peace and quiet.

"Are you going to tell them?" Aaron whispered to her.

He chose one of the noise parts to ask her so that they would only be heard.

"Probably should. I will slip it in when we leave."

Aaron snorted. That was all he needed.

Aaron shock Arthur and Morgan's father's hand while Morgan gave them kisses.

Aaron gave her a look of now-or-never.

"Umm, just to let you know that we are just finalising the date for the wedding and invitations will be out soon. Also I am pregnant. Bye."

She pulled Aaron towards the door and managed to close the door when her father boomed "PREGNANT!"

"Right we have to go now before he kills you." Morgan said rushing to the car.

"Why would he kill me? I am going to marry you."

"Sorry did I forget to mention that his is an old fashioned bastard." Morgan said shutting the door of her car.

Aaron nodded. "Point taken." He ran around the other side and jumped in. "Go, go, go."

Morgan laughed and set off as quick as she could.

"I cannot believe that you did that." Aaron said as they took the stairs to their flat.

"Don't! That's how I told him I was moving out and never coming back. I actually didn't for 2 years. Unfortunately Arthur then joined me at university so he watched over me. I liked my 2 years of freedom."

Aaron laughed.

"I bet you did."

The reached their floor and walked up to their door.

A woman was standing in front of their door, leaning on it. "They told me I would find you here Merlin."

Aaron turned to Morgan.

This was going to be difficult.
