"Well?" Emily tapped her foot and crossed her arm.

The room was silent as everyone looked at Maya.

"Um, I uh, its, um, uhh," she stuttered not really knowing what to say. Aelita just wanted to strangle her cousin; WHY COULDN'T SHE COME UP WITH A GOOD LIE!

"Oh Maya," Aelita sighed, "Just tell her." Aelita had taken a few drama courses when XANA was thought to be gone.

"I mean," Aelita licked her lips and looked around for an inspiration for the lie, "Its not like she'd tell- or laugh or anything."

Emily raised an eyebrow at Maya waiting for an answer.

Just then; William entered the room. Upon seeing the group of girls and their awkward stare off, he stopped in his tracks, "Um..." He shrugged and turned to walk out of the room.

"WAIT!" Aelita shouted at him, "Um," he turned around and arched an eyebrow at her, "Maya, doesn't want to tell Emily why she's been sneaking out at out at night, pffft," she sighed like it was such a dumb topic. Just then Ulrich walked in the room as well, not paying attention to what was going on around him.

Maya saw the sly smile form on Williams' face..what was he planing?

William walked over to Ulrich and draped an arm over his shoulders, "Why don't you tell them, Ulrich. Cause Maya is waaaaaaaay too shy."

WHAT? Both Maya's and Ulrich's eyes yelled at him.

"Oh my gosh," One of Emily's friends said and stared, "I get it."

"You do?" Maya and Ulrich asked in shock.

"Of course!" the friend who's name was Anna exclaimed, "Wow I can't believe it; Ulrich, I thought you liked Yumi though?"

"W-what?" Ulrich asked completely befuddled. Aelita gasped and William chuckled, while Maya just stared off into oblivion while trying to understand what Anna was talking about until-

"Wow, Maya, you should have told me you were dating Ulrich."

"WHAAT?" Both her and Ulrich stared at each other.

"ALRIGHT DUNBAR YOU'RE DEAD MEAT!" Maya yelled as soon as Emily and her friends had left the game room.

William laughed, "What? I saved you did I not?"

"Yeah but-"

"Maya, you need some excuse," Aelita said trying to calm her down.

"But- DATING ULRICH STERN?"

"This isn't great for me either!" Ulrich yelled at his supposed girlfriend, "All I wanted was to watch a movie, NOW I'M DATING MAYA HOPPER!"

Maya groaned and flopped down on the couch, "Why him? Why couldn't you say someone else like-"

"Like Oooooooodd," William teased. When Maya didn't say anything he laughed, "Don't worry! We'll tell the others in the group that it was just a misunderstanding and you two aren't really dating," he gave Ulrich a sly grin, "Yumi will know the truth too, so don't worry."

"But, sneaking out at night- to see him?"

"So? Lots of girls would do it." William shrugged.

"What?" Ulrich asked.

Aelita groaned, "I mean, the fact that you two are in different grades and only see each other at breakfast, lunch and dinner... it makes sense that you'd sneak out at night too see him."

"But what about the whole keeping it a secret part?" Ulrich asked.

"Because, she was too embarrassed to say she was dating you?" Aelita offered.

"That'll be one thing that's true," Maya muttered.

I was gonna originally have her 'date' William, but 'dating' Ulrich makes a little more sense. Meh
