Part 22. Alvin and The Aeronauts!
The news of the sudden and tragic deaths of The Chipmunks; got the results that were anticipated.
Children and young teens cried their hearts out.
A sudden boost in sales as recordings of the group were snatched up.
Yet with all the grief.. There was one who gloated with glee...
Mr. Thomas Lozier, chairman of DIVERSITECH, was pouring himself a victory drink.
He then lifted his glass and said,"Alvin and The Chipmunks... Rest in Pieces!"
He then watched the news report and saw the image of a visibly shaken David Seville.
He was being helped into a waiting limousine.
"Sorry Mr. Seville... It had to be done... Yet you have my sympathy...", said the fiend as he finished his drink.
Inside the Limo...
"O.K. David. They can't see inside. You can stop the theatrics..", said Uncle Adam as he handed him a handkerchief.
this was to remove the glycerin tears.
Alvin and his brothers' heads popped up from Uncle Adam's trench coat pockets.
"Fresh air at last! It was getting stuffy in here.", said Simon.
"It didn't help that it reeks of that nasty alley cat."said Alvin.
"Uncle Adam.. Are we going to find the girls?", asked a worried Theodore.
The elder Seville smiled at the youngest of his godchildren and said,"We found them boy...
It's up to us to save them."
He then looked at the others and said,"It isn't going to be easy. It can be dangerous.
Are you boys willing to risk your lives?"
The Chipmunks paused in thought.
Alvin was remembering when he rescued Brittany and her sisters from Ian Hawke.
Simon remembers swinging over a chasm on a rope to rescue Jeanette.
Theodore remembered his battle to save Eleanor from The Jungle Monster / Tarantula..
In unison the trio of Chipmunk Brothers said,"YES!"
In Sasha's bedroom...
"Please wake up Jeanette...", cried Eleanor: while she tried to rouse her sister.
Brittany was sitting in the corner of the dollhouse living room.
Tears were streaming down her face as she cried out,"Alvin...Alvin... Alvin..."
Jeanette was like death. The news report shocked her so much..
She went into a catatonic state. She was breathing in a very shallow way.
Witnessing this event upset Sasha, who left her room to seek her father.
The door was ajar and the black Great Dane Brutus entered. It sniffed the air and went toward the dollhouse..
It whined when it smelled the familiar scent of the Chipettes, who nursed his wounds.
A little after dusk..
Location.. Tustin Marine Airbase...
"Uncle Adam.. I thought you said that the girls are North in the Bakersfield / Kern County area.
Why are we here in Tustin.?", asked Dave.
"Not to let the girls' captor know that we're coming .
Remember.. The death of the boys is news now! ", answered Uncle Adam.
He helped Dave out of his jacket and handed it to cousin Toby.
Uncle Adam then said,"Every news agency is trying to get a hold of you.
The last bit of information they have is; that you are going to visit your folks out of town.
That is why we have Toby here to throw them off.
Dressed as you.. They will follow him to the nearby airport.
Now we have to get off here!"
Alvin and his brothers clung on to Dave; as they approached the Marine Guard.
Uncle Adam produced an official document which granted them access to a special Hanger at the base.
The group was taken to the biggest hanger on the base.
It's sheer size dwarfed everybody. 192 Feet high x 292 feet wide x 1,072 feet in length. "Roscoe..You old rascal!", said a voice from behind the group.
A silver haired general stepped down from his hummer and walked toward them. He then said,"I was told to ready the Dragon for a special mission. I didn't know you had something to do with it."
Do we have a crew? ", Asked Uncle Adam.
"Twenty of our best in the field. Now let's get this rescue party started!", replied the general.
Great doors started to separate. From inside a blinding light bounced off the object within.
A strange looking craft. Silver in color with small wings on each side.
It was over 50 feet in height and it was 266 feet in length.
"What is it?! A spaceship?!", Asked Alvin.
Simon adjusted his glasses and said,"It's an airship.. Like the historic Zeppelins of long ago.
But this one is made of aluminum and carbon fibers."
"How do you know this?" asked Dave.
"I Googled it. ", answered Simon.
"It going to be a tight fit in there..", said Theodore as he saw the two man canopy.
Uncle Adam smiled and said,"That's the pilots cockpit. We are going here."
A huge, forward, ramp lowered before them.
Climbing up.. The group was greeted by the crew and led to their seats.
There was a slight hum as near quiet engines started up.
From a port window the group saw that they were in motion.
Clearing the great hanger, the fantastic airship paused.
Then it's motors shifted to a vertical position.
Quietly, and quickly the ship rose skyward.
Uncle Adam Looked at the faces of his Godchildren and said,"Boys... May the winds be in our favor..
Like it was for the legendary Jason and his crew."
