So yeah, here comes the palt- chapter. Some… most of the things about the palt is either taken from my own experiences from palt or what I've seen with people around me.

Oh as well, I think I have said that this one and my other story Love is stronger than hate will have a united sequel, so that I was trying to update LISTH a lot more than this to have them done at about the same time. They will still have a united sequel but I will concentrate on finishing this as soon as possible instead of trying to have them done at the same time. I think you got that. So… in short sentence, I will hopefully start updating this more.

"So what is it we need?" Mike asked again while we were at the story. I sighed, how on earth could he forgot the very few ingredients of palt. I continued with counting the ingredients on my fingers while telling him then.

"Potato, salt, flour, pork, lingonberry- jam and butter. I'll get all of the things so you won't forget it again, and make sure everything's right." I walked over to the potatoes and lingonberries. I was excited about making a dish that I had grown up with- but none of the others had ever even seen. Mike shook his head when he thought I brought more of the ingredients into our basket.

When we came home I immedeately walked into the kitchen, and started to prepare for making palt. For some reason I was in a really good mood today. I was making one of the dishes I had pretty much grown up with knowing I lived in one of the few parts of the world where we had it. And as well- Johnny and Tee were eating with us.

I whistled while putting the mashed potato, flour and salt and made them into balls between my hands. Palt could be both boiled in water and fried in a pan so I was going to do both. I also had a bunch of bacon and loads of jam.

"Hey Emma." Johnny came into the kitchen and sat down by the kitchen island. I walked over to kiss him but he was interrupted by Tyler coming into the room. We started talking about the palt and after some while I exclaimed.

"You know… palt is a very special kind of food because after eating it you'll end up in the worst ever food- coma if you've eaten just a tiny little bit too much. When the schools are serving palt there's always someone having a palt- eating- contest." I added the last part without thinking but shook my head. No I'd warn them about what would happen if they'd eat too much and they wouldn't try to have a contest.

In about an hour all the palt was cooked and I hollered for the others, they all looked pretty disgusted when they saw the palt but with a bit of a pep- talk from me they all decided to try it and actually they all liked it.

"So who's on a palt- eating- contest?" Tyler asked and looked around, Johnny, Jody and Rick agreed on having one and Rick managed to talk Harry into joining too. I tried my best to tell them what would happen if they'd eat too much and talk them into not having it but no one did listen to me

"Well guys, maybe you should listen to what Emma says yeah? She's the only one who's been eating this before." Gina stated and I hoped that they would listen to her, but none of them listened, and Gus was (of course) put on taking notes of how many pieces of palt everyone had eaten. - and then all of us who weren't competing ate our dinner before the competition started.

A normal person would eat one to three palts, I had seen dragging on so long the one who won had eaten twenty. And I could guess how this was going to end. Harry was the first one to give up after eating five, and he spent the rest of the competition with moaning, his arms wrapped around his stomach and his head on the table.

"Seriously guys, if you keep on eating it's gonna end up in someone getting sick!" I exclaimed but they still wouldn't care about me. "I think it would be a good idea to get buckets." I stood up and walked around the house to find something that could be used if someone was sick. I sighed placing each and everyone of the buckets I found by the chair of one of the competes and just nodded to the others to show them that it would be needed before jumping up to sit on the kitchen island.

Tyler was the next one to give up after eleven palts. He just grabbed his bucket and ran out of the room. And then we were just waiting for Rick, Johnny and Jody to continue competing, Rick was the next one to give up after fifteen and he just lifted the bucket up and hang over it without moving from his spot.

"I told them not to so don't blame me." I whispered to Mike. He shook his head and answered me that everyone who were competing were old enough to make these kind of decisions so no one would be able to blame me- especially after warning them a hundred times.

Now Johnny and Jody were the only ones left in the competition and except for the chewing and the knife and forks scraping towards the plates the room was all quiet as they both did take a bite, drank- milk of course who would always go with palt. And it went on and on and on until…

"Blaurgh." Johnny threw up, followed by moans from him and disgusted sounds from us others. And Jody asking if she won of course. Rick looked up seeming exhausted and told her that if she finished the palt she was eating now she would win the whole competition, she ate her twenty- second palt and then stood up, put her hands in the air and ran out of the room, soon after we heard the bathroom door slam.

"Don't come and say I didn't warn you." I jumped down from the bench, went up to my room and started doing homework. But I had just started getting somewhere with it when Mike came into the room and told me to come with him downstairs.

The first thing I saw coming down the stairs was Harry and Jody laying in the sofa in the hallway, each one with a bucket and their head on each arm-support of the sofa, sleeping tightly. In the living room Tyler and Rick laid in each sofa, Johnny had already left and Mike showed me a picture on his phone that Johnny and Tee's foster mum had sent him of Johnny knocked out in the car.

"They were too tired to get upstairs." Mike whispered to me as we walked out of the living room. "The others are knocked out in their rooms." I shook my head and sighed.

"Typical new- beginners." I smirked and Mike just pushed my shoulder gently. "But yeah- after eating palt it feels like you've been eating stone." Mike sighed and stroke his stomach, then he walked to lay down in the quiet room. I walked upstairs- I had eaten palt too many times to bother about the food- coma.

I took the book that Leon had sent me- de kallade mig Ise and continued reading it. I was still in a good mood, palt, Swedish book, maths- I mean numbers were the same in England as in Sweden and everything made me feel so… like home

I ended up calling Leon to tell him about the palt, he had quite a good laugh about it. Then the question I had been waiting for came.

"Have you told Mike you're leaving yet?" I sighed, and shook my head even though I knew he couldn't see it. Then answered him no. "You need to tell him Emma… what are you so afraid of?" I sighed, to be honest I didn't know why I was so nervous about telling Mike about the fact that I was leaving.

I pulled out the paper I had been drawing on a paper, today was the seventh and it would be the fifteenth at last I had to tell him. Twenty sixth was the last day of school and Leon had told me the plane would leave at Twenty eigth. That left me just about a week before I would have to tell Mike, and three weeks left at the dumping ground.

I sighed, I knew I had to tell Mike. There were stuff that needed to be done before I left- with school and everything. Suddenly a thought hit me. How could I leave without saying what needed to be said to both Tara and Jess. I really needed to speak to the both of them, I stood up and ran down to the quiet room and got Mike.

"Mike… is there any chance for me to get to talk with Jess before…" I was on my way to say before I leave but I stopped myself. "Before the end of the month." Mike sighed and pushed himself up in sitting before clapping on the bed next to him to tell me to come and sit there.

"Emma… Jess is currently still in hospital, she'll stay there for one or two days more and then she'll move to another care- home called Sunshine house. It's a place where she can get more help for her problems than what we could give her here, and then of course Jordan will be with her there. But the thing is, because of that you won't really be able to meet her again." I opened my mouth to protest. I really needed to talk with Jess. "Sorry kiddo, it's the rules." I stood up and walked up to my room. I needed to come up with something to talk with Jess.

Suddenly a thought hit me. Of course I couldn't come up with anything but maybe there was someone who cold. I ran down to the office where Tracy sat in the sofa. "Tracy." I exclaimed. "I need a Tracy- plan."

So… will Emma be able to talk with Jess? Will Tracy have a plan and will it- as usual backfire? Will Emma tell Mike in time and how will he react? Will Emma actually go home? And what is the reason for Levi and Leon to have English names when they were from Sweden? I know, and it all will come out in the last chapters of When the past catches up.
