Touch My Heart - Chapter 22

A/N: Hey guys! It's me again bringing you a new chapter of Touch My Heart! I would like to thank Christina Phillips for major portion of this chapter. Without her help, I'm not sure we would have been able to publish this tonight. So, thank you sweetie! I really appreciate it. I'm going to keep this short and let you all get to reading this chapter. I know that this chapter doesn't have much of Joey, and I know that it's kinda sad, but I need to stay focused on Will/Sonny and Alex/Chad. But I promise to add a little more of Joey in the next chapter. - Roxy

P.S. This chapter is not beta and all mistakes are my own and my stupid grammar and spell check programs! Lol!

(Joey's POV)

I left a little bit earlier than my brothers for the prom. Being that I can't drive yet, (and believe me, it's very embarrassing might I add) I had to get a ride from my dad to go pick up Abigail at her home.

I was sitting in the front seat next to my dad, both nervous and excited to see Abigail. I kept looking at myself in the overhead mirror, readjusting my bow tie, making sure my hair was alright and fixing my collar (because I couldn't breath), when my dad suddenly looked over at me and started laughing.

"What?" I asked, trying to figure out what was so funny, because I clearly didn't find anything amusing.

"You nervous?" My dad smiled and turned his eyes back over to the road in front of us.

"Is it that obvious?" I questioned, hoping that my dad would be honest with me. The last thing I want is for Abigail to notice my apprehensive state of mind.

"Well..." My dad chuckled. "If you count out the numerous times that you've tugged at that bow tie since we left the house and check yourself out in the mirror, then I would have to say no. You don't look nervous at all." Dad smiled.

"Great! Thanks a lot dad! Just what I needed to hear right now." I snickered and loosened up my tie because seriously, I honestly couldn't breath.

"Joseph Kiriakis, you look very handsome. Abigail won't know what hit her when she see's you."

I tried to stay positive. "I really hope you're right, dad. I don't want her to regret inviting me to the prom. I really want to make this night special for her. You know?"

"Oh, I know. Trust me. I remember what it's like to be fifteen years old, Joey."

"Really? That was a very long time ago if you ask me? Like ancient!" I teased my dad.

"Ha! Ha! Very funny, mister. I'll get you back for that one. I can promise you that!"

"I'll kept you to it!" I smiled when I noticed my dad approaching Abigail's drive way. "Turn here." I pointed out, feeling my heart suddenly flutter in my chest.

"You okay?" My dad questioned. "You look a little flushed. You nervous?"

Just as I was about to answer my dad, the words suddenly got caught inside my throat, when I noticed Abigail waiting on her doorstep for me to arrive, wearing the most beautiful purple evening gown that I've even seen. She looked like a princess.

"Joey?"

"Oh my god! Do I look okay? Is my tie alright? Is my hair sticking up everywhere?" I started to panic.

"Hey, calm down. You look fine. Just relax." My dad tried to calm me down and was unsuccessful.

"Fine? Just fine?" I became hysterical. "Abigail deserve more that just fine!"

"She's already got more that just fine, Joey. She's got you. And you're perfect!" Dad smiled and slapped me silly. "Now calm the hell down and go get you're gorgeous young lady before she changes her mind about you."

I nodded my head repeatedly. "Okay." I swallowed hard before getting out of the car and walked over to Abigail, and I all I could think about was how much I really didn't wanna screw this up.

"Hey, Joey. You look mighty handsome tonight." Abigail smiled brightly at me and she swayed her dress from side to side.

"You...you're...gorgeous." I stuttered, trying to find the perfect words to describe how beautiful Abigail was. "So beautiful."

"Thank you." Abigail shied away for a second, blushing at the compliment. "You ready to go?" She asked as she outreached her hand.

I nodded, accepted her hand, and helped her down, being extra careful not to ruin her dress. "I'm sorry for not being able to take you to the prom myself." I whispered into her ear as we walked over to the car. "One of the perks of dating a younger man." I giggled nervously.

"I'm not complaining." She squeezed my hand tightly and smiled. "Just so you know, there's no one else I'd rather go to the prom with, Joey."

We smiled at each other as we approached the car and I opened up the door for her (like any gentleman would), and help her inside. After closing the car door, I hurried over to the other side and took a seat next to her and proceeded with the introductions. "Dad, this is Abigail. My girl-..." I started saying, but the words somehow got caught again in my throat. But luckily for me, Abigail gladly finished my sentence for me.

"I'm Joey's girlfriend, Abigail. It's nice to meet you finally. Joey has told me a lot about you." She happily offered her hand to my father, which didn't go unnoticed.

"Like wise." Dad shook Abigail's hand and continued. "Joey hasn't been able to stop talking about you." Dad teased.

"Dad!" I felt like I was about to die of embarrassment.

"I'm sorry, Joey. Just telling the beautiful young woman the truth. Oh, and I told you that I'd get you back for the ancient comment." Dad winked and Abigail seemed rather amused by my fathers words.

"Can we just go?" I sneered at me father, hoping he would take the hint and just drive us to prom.

"Alright, here we go!" Dad informed us and back out of the driveway and headed towards the high school.

Abigail looked over at me and smiled, before placing a soft kiss on my cheek. She pulled away smiling and turned her eyes over to the road ahead of us. I for one couldn't stop staring at her. She was probably the most beautiful woman that I've even seen, and to know that she was going to the prom with me, made this night all that more special. I slowly reached over and laced our fingers together before lifting her hand up and placing a few kisses upon it before whispering into her ear once again. "Tonight, you're my princess, and I'm so honor to be taking you to the prom."

Abigail giggled and retaliated with. "Tonight, you're my prince, and I'm so honored that you accepted my offer."

We started at each other for a few seconds before closing the distance between us with a kiss, not even bothered that my father was sitting in the seat, just a few feet away.

(Will's POV)

Just as the song ended, I turned over and noticed Alex and Chad walking into the gymnasium. "Look, Alex and Chad are here. Do you wanna go over and talk to them for a little while?" I asked Sonny, who still had his head on my shoulder.

"Yeah, okay." Sonny sounded a little off, but I knew that he was probably just worried about being here. This whole night was a huge step for Sonny, being able to step out of his comfort zone and blend in with hundred's of people laughing and dancing around without a single panic attack was remarkable. And I for one couldn't be more proud of how well he was doing.

"I'm so proud of you, babe. You are amazing." I whispered into Sonny's ear, hoping that this would encourage him and keep him motivated for the rest of our evening together.

"Thank you, Will." He smiled nervously as walked over to meet up with Alex and Chad.

"Hey! It's about time you two showed up! I was beginning to wonder is you two skipped out on the prom and went directly to the after party." I teased Chad as we high-fived each other.

"Nah, Alex here had to make sure his panties matched his bow tie." Chad said and playfully squeezed Alex's left ass cheek, causing him to jump up in surprise.

"Chad!" Alex hissed "I've already told you that I do not wear panties. So shut the fuck up!"

"I will if you wear a pair. I love purple by the way." Chad wiggled his eyes at Alex to and succeeded to royally piss him off.

"In your dreams, DiMera!" Alex furiously snapped and punched Chad on the shoulder.

"Ouch! No need to get violent with the one you love, Alex." Chad laughed, rubbing his arm on the area Alex just punched with his free hand.

"Who ever said that I loved you?" Alex retaliated back at Chad.

"You did, you idiot!" Chad pointed out to Alex.

"Guess I wasn't in my right mind at the time." Alex crossed his arms turned away from Chad.

Chad smiled and pulled Alex in from the side and placed a wet kiss on his cheek before he could protest. "He's so adorable when he pissed off."

Alex pulled away from Chad and wiped his cheek dry. "I am not adorable. I am manly."

"You would be even more adorably manly if you were wearing purple panties!"

Sonny gave Chad a questioning look. "Panties? Alex doesn't wear panties."

"Thank you, Sonny! At least someone's on my side. I can't say the same for any of you guys." Alex snorted and pointed to all of us, expect for Sonny.

Everyone started laughing, causing Sonny to be even more confused than he already was.

After catching my breath from laughing so hard, I tried explaining to Sonny that Chad was only joking about Alex wearing panties. "You see, babe. Chad was just teasing Alex."

"Okay, but why would he tease him about his underwear? That doesn't sound very appropriate, Will."

"Chad has what some people might call a fetish." I giggled and looked over at Alex who was now blushing furiously.

"Chad likes woman's underwear? On Alex?" Sonny's eyes flew open when he realized what I was talking about, and blushed. I could see that he was trying to picture it in his mind.

"You bet I do" Chad interrupted and elbowing Alex in the ribs playfully. "Now, If I can ever get Alex over her to agree to it!"

"Never gonna happen!" Alex pointed out while slapping Chad's Chest roughly, causing Sonny to laugh out loud.

"So, if I get this right, it's kinda like when I asked you to put on that tie last week and you let me call you Mr. Horton?"

"Sonny!" I tried to stop him from saying more, but it was too late. The cat was already out of the bag. "Just kill me know!"

"Oh really? I had no idea Mr. Horton liked being bossed around?" Chad sneered. "Please, Sonny. Tell us more."

"Will loves being bossed around. He even said that I was a very naughty and bossy student." Sonny nodded proudly.

I just stood there, shaking my head in disbelief, completely flushed with embarrassment. "I've created a monster!"

"Is that so, well..." Chad giggled and turned over to Alex. "Guess you should get lessons from your brother, Alex."

"Shut up!" Alex retorted just as Joey walking in with Abigail on his arm.

"Hey guys!" Joey said as he walked up to us, and I for one couldn't be happier to see him. "What did I miss?"

"Nothing important!" I said, pulling Sonny in for a kiss before he could say anything else.

Sonny pulled and smiled, chocolate-brown eyes beaming right at me. "What was that for?" He asked.

"To remind you of how much I love you, and that you need to stop talking."

Sonny giggled. "Oh, T.M.I.?"

"Yeah, maybe a little." I smiled and kissed him again.

"Grosse! You two seriously need to get a room!" Joey pointed out.

"Yeah, yeah whatever!" I sneered at Joey.

"Alright, now that we're all together, we should take a few pictures of all of us together for dad." Alex said as he pulled his phone out of his pocket.

Alex asked one of the teachers that chaperoned the prom if she would take of a few shots of us and she gladly accepted.

We all gathered together in front of the balloon archway for our prom pictures. The teacher took a few shots of us all together, a few of them of us being serious and a few others of us goofing around as we always did when we hung out together.

Next, Alex and Chad got the teacher to take a few shots of themselves together with Chad's hands wrapped around Alex's waist from behind. Alex blushed so hard that the teacher had to take the shot over a few times before she got it right. But in the end, it turned out perfectly.

Joey followed and got the teacher to take a few shots of him and Abigail together with both of them looking into each others eyes. It was a beautiful pose, and one that Joey immediately used for his phone wall paper.

And last, it was finally mine and Sonny's turn to get our pictures taken. I reached for my phone and handed it over to the teacher and I turned over to Sonny. "You ready?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around Sonny's waist and pulled him in for kiss. Sonny nodded, reciprocated the kiss even more.

At the very moment, the flash went off.

And the kiss we shared in front of the arch way, ended up being our very first prom picture, and the best one out of all of them. I knew that without a doubt, that this would be the picture Sonny would use in his picture frame I got him a few weeks ago.

After we were all done with taking the pictures, Sonny and I made our way back over with the rest of the gang, and just in time to see Joey and Abigail making their grand début on the dance floor. "Wow, someone's seems happy." I said to Alex and pointed over to Joey.

Alex was all smiles. "I've never seen Joey this happy before. I'm glad he found Abigail. She's good for him you know?"

I agreed. "I know." I looked over my shoulder and saw Chad gladly showing Sonny how to send our prom pictures over to his father. I smiled at the sight of my best friend and my boyfriend bonding over something as simple as few photographs. "You know...Chad's also good for you. You two look happy together."

Alex nodded. "He really makes me happy, Will."

"I've noticed."

"So, What are your plans for after the prom?" Alex asked. I knew that the question was coming, but it didn't mean that I was ready to answer it. Alex shifted on his chair before he continued. "Did you decided whether you're going to? You know?"

"I left it open for Sonny to decide what he wants to do." I informed truthfully.

Alex nodded again. "That's good."

"Are you okay with this, Alex? I mean, if we decided to, you know?"

"It's not up to me to decide, Will. Sonny's old enough to make up his own mind about whether or not he's ready to, you know? But if you're asking for my approval before going through with this, then I would have to say yes. You have my blessing. I know that without a doubt, that you love Sonny just as much as he Sonny loves you, and there's no one I would rather see brother end up with. Just take care of him, okay? It's all I'm asking."

"I promise you, Alex. I'll take very good care of him."

"Will, can I-..."

Just as Alex was about to say something else, Chad and Sonny joined in and interrupted Alex's question. "Hey, you two look so serious." Chad said, wrapping his arms around Alex's waist.

"Oh, we were just talking about our amazing boyfriends. Nothing important." I said, while holding Sonny in arms.

I noticed Alex was suddenly acting a little strange. I looked around the room and saw a few people staring at him and I got the impression that Alex might not be comfortable with PDA's. When I noticed that Alex looked away, I mouthed a few words to Chad from the side lines. "Ask him to take a walk."

Chad got the message, nodded and complied.

(Alex's POV)

After sharing a few photo's along side Sonny and Will (for my dad of course), I noticed a few of my student council friends staring at me and Chad. I guess it was bound to happen at some point, considering how close Chad and I have become over the last few weeks.

Chad wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me in closer to him, which is a normal gesture for a boyfriend to do. We are boyfriends after all.

My brothers and Will kinda already knew where things were headed between Chad and I, being that we've spent every waking minute over the last two weeks together. Everyone was very supportive and showed no signs of being against our relationship. Even my dad was starting to warm up to Chad, which was rather surprised me at first with Chad being DiMera and all. But my other friends, not so much. And to tell you the truth, I wasn't sure If I was ready to tell them about my relationship with Chad.

I pulled away slightly, suddenly feeling a little uncomfortable with having so many eyes watching us. Chad noticed how distressed I was and immediately weighed in.

"Let's take a breather?" Chad asked as he removed his arms from my waist and shifted his shoulders, understanding that I needed a moment to collect my thoughts.

Things between us have been going so well, but I wasn't sure how ready we both were to tackle the "real world," which in our case, the entire Salem High School senior class.

"Yeah, sure." I said, and walked towards the exit of the gymnasium.

"We'll catch you guys later, alright?" Chad informed Will and Sonny as we got ready to leave.

"Yeah, sure. We're probably going to be heading out soon. So maybe if you guys want, we could all meet up at the diner tomorrow for lunch?" Will informed us.

"Sounds like a plan" Chad weighed in.

"Oh, and don't forget to invite Joey and Abigail to join us."

"Will do." I smiled and looked over at Chad.

Chad slipped his hand carefully into mine, and I tensed a moment, then relaxed into his grip. He knew that I was nervous and was doing his best to show me that he was still there for me.

Chad opened the door, and motioned for me to walk through first as he held it open for me.

"And they say chivalry is dead." I said wiggling my eyebrows at him.

Chad blushed the most beautiful crimson red and I laughed a little at his slight embarrassment.

We followed the sidewalk to the gazebo. I gasped at the sight.

The rustic white gazebo was lined with white lights, strung from top to bottom, and around the base. Paper bag candles were lining the sidewalk where we walked, and up the three steps going into the gazebo. When we walked into the gazebo, I had to spin around to enjoy the most beautiful, romantic setting that I have ever been in. It took my breath away to see its beauty matched only by Chad's handsomeness. I gulped, lights reflected off his tanned skin and inside of his brown eyes, I was entranced. Finally, I tore my eyes from Chad's and I looked up to find that there was a beautiful white and red Japanese lantern hanging from the ceiling.

"This is beautiful." Chad mumbled, complimenting the scenery.

My eyes snapped back to Chad's as I replied, "Yes, he is."

"Well, thanks." Chad smiled shyly before he continued. "But I was talking about the setting."

I giggled embarrassingly, "I know, but I was talking about you."

Chad's gaze shifted to the ground as he kicked his shoe at a rock that wasn't there. He looked back up to me and took a step forward. "May I have this dance?" He asked, offering his hand.

I felt dizzy and a little confused. I stared a moment at his outstretched hand then gazed into his beautiful chocolate eyes and saw tenderness and something akin to love. "We can barely hear the music." I pointed out.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and stepped into my personal space. He placed his right hand over my heart and whispered, "The beating of your heart is the only music I need to hear. It's the sweetest sound and the most beautiful music I've ever heard."

I smiled as I walk further into his embrace, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and laying my head in the crook of his neck. I sighed in complete and utter
bliss.

Chad started to slowly sway his hips to the faint music we could hear from the prom. He slowly rubbed his hands up and down my back, rubbing circles between my shoulder blades and back down to my hips. I heard a low rumble from the back of his throat as I kissed the nape of his neck repeatedly.

"Alex?" Chad swallowed hard, as if he was nervous about wanting to ask me something important.

"Yeah?" I'm not sure why it came out as raspy as it did, maybe because I was starting to fall for this man, or maybe it was because I was afraid of what he might want to say. Either way, it came out as unsteady as when I was in middle school, trying to ask the "popular girl" out.

"Are you happy?" He asked as his hands tangled in my hair and then back down to my hips.

"Chad, I didn't realize it was possible to be as happy as I am right now. With you." I declared as I lifted my gaze to his eyes. "Are you happy?" I countered, not sure where he's going with this line of questioning.

"I'm the happiest man on the planet right now, Alex. You're my happily ever after." He gave me a small peck on my right eye, then a small peck on my left eye, then he gave me a knee tingling kiss. A kiss with so much passion in it, it left us both gasping for air.

"I love you," I whispered as I nuzzled my head, again, into the nape of his neck.

"I love you too," he repeated in a whisper as our hips begin to move once more to the light music. "I love you so much, Alexander Kiriakis." He whispered again as he tightened his grip around me. I realized for the first time tonight, I would never lose him.

"Chad?" I asked as we continued to sway to the music.

"Yeah, babe?"

"I think that I would like to leave now." I said as I slowly pulled away and looked into his gorgeous brown eyes.

"Oh, okay. Do you want me to take you home?" Chad disappointingly asked, and I could see that he wasn't ready for this night to end just yet.

"No."

"But you said? I just thought-..."

"I said that I wanted to leave. I never said that I wanted to go home." My words caught him off guard.

"Oh, I see..." Chad looked puzzled. "Where do you want to go then?"

"Somewhere where we can be alone." I admitted nervously and took a step closer to Chad. "I wanna be with you Chad."

"Alex, don't get me wrong here, but are you sure that this is what you want? I really wanna be with you too, but..." Chad hesitated. "Only is you're ready."

"I'm ready, Chad. I've been ready for this night for as long as I can remember. I just never found the right person, you know?"

"And now? Have you found the right person?" Chad asked, pulling me into his arms once again.

"I think so," I smiled and buried my face into Chad chest. "I know so."

"Then what are we waiting for?"

I pulled away and reached for Chad's hand, lacing our fingers together in the process. We smiled at each other and started walking towards the parking lot. "So, where are you taking me?"

Chad smiled as if he had something special planned. Knowing Chad, he probably already did. "You'll see."

And I for one couldn't wait to find out.

(Sonny's POV)

So many thoughts were running through my mind right now; I thought my head was going to explode.

I looked over to Will, who was sitting to my right, drinking punch, and I couldn't help stare at him, thinking how lucky I am to have such an amazing man in my life.

"Son? Are you ok?" I heard him asking me, pulling me away from my thoughts.

"Hmm? Oh, oh yeah. I'm good." I answered nervously, knowing what was about to happen.

I know Will had explained what traditionally happens on prom night, and I know that without a doubt, I want with him. Now more that ever. I'm just a little nervous about telling him and putting it into words.

"One more dance before we head out?" Will asked and suddenly, just like that, I wasn't nervous anymore. I knew exactly what I wanted to tell him.

"I' would love to." I accepted and smiled up at him, and for the first time tonight, his beautiful bright crystal blue eyes looked dimed with worry, but I wasn't quite sure why he was worried; but then that started to worry me.

Will stood up, and offered me his hand, and led me out to the dance floor. He guided my arms around his waist and wrapped his arms around my shoulders, pulling me tightly against his chest.

I inhaled his scent and immediately relaxed into his arms.

Will started running one of his hands through my hair and cradled the back of my head as he spoke softly. "Sonny..." He almost sounded like a whisper.

"Yeah?" I replied, waiting to see if he would tell me why he was so worried.

"You know that I love you right?" He asked as his hips began to sway to the music, leading me through the dance floor.

I heard the sound of his heart speeding up while he's was talking and now, I understand why he's worried. He's worried that I am going to reject him and not want to be with him.

"I love you too Will, so much." I said and squeeze him for effect, hoping that this would reassure him that I would never push him away.

"You know that I would never do anything to hurt you and I would never do anything you're not comfortable with, right?" He asked, unsure of himself.

I smile and continued with the slow sway of my hips, but instead of moving with the music, I moved to the amazing acoustic sound of Will's heart beat. "Will, I want this." I repeated, trying to ease his mind. "I want to be with you, so badly."

"Sonny, you don't have to..." Will tried saying, but I cut him off by placing a finger over his lips. It was like I gathered every bit of courage I had and put it into what I was going to say to him next.

"Will, I know that you're nervous about making love to me, and I understand why. I'm nervous too, Will. I love you, and I trust you with my mind, my body, and my heart. Let's finish our dance, and then please take me to the hotel and make us one with each other."

Will stopped moving to the music as he continued to look into my eyes. His expression was a mixture of shock and love. I wrapped myself back around him, and sighed into his strong chest. This was the man on my dreams and I was completely and utterly at ease being in his arms. His hips began to move again as his hands wounded themselves back into my hair. He placed soft kisses on my temple and along my hair-line. We were so wrapped up in the feeling of being together that neither one of us noticed when the song changed from a slow one to this fast paced number that was playing.

"Are you ready to go my sunshine?" Will whispered softly into my ear.

"I'm ready, Will." I answered and led him off the dance floor and through the doors of the gymnasium.
