"Simon," Isabelle says. "We need to talk…"

"We do?" Simon says looking confused.

…

"Isabelle looked upset about something, don't you guys think?" Clary asked the others looking confused.

"No," Jace said "Why would Isabelle be upset?"

"You're a boy Jace, you wouldn't notice anything like that" Clary joked

Jace's snarky comment was cut off by Maryse "I do believe something was bothering her Clary dear, I think you're right."

"Does anyone know the time?" Tessa asks politely.

Magnus slightly lifted his hand and blue magic flew from his fingertips. With a wave of a perfectly manicured hand, a large vintage clock appeared on the wall. "7:40" Magnus said looking amused.

"Impressive, and thanks" Tessa said

"Not as impressive as your power Tessa dear, but pretty good" Magnus said

"What's your power," Jace asked suddenly interested in the conversation.

"That's a tale for another day young Herondale, maybe one day I'll show you." Tessa said with a wink.

"She shape shifts," Magnus blurted out.

"Magnus!" Tessa shouted "They didn't need to know."

"Coooooool," Alec said "Care to demonstrate?"

"Like I said before, another time," Tessa started "I must leave now, I'm meant to go meet with Jocelyn Fairchild at 8:00

"That woman does not like new people; she hates me if you can believe that."

"She does not hate you, Jace," Clary started "Well, maybe a little, but she's working on it."

"That's so reassuring Clary." Jace said sarcastically.

"I really must be going," Tessa says standing up, Church jumps off her lap and curls around her legs. She gives him one last pat before heading out the door with a wave good bye.

"C'mon Jace, lets go to the training room; you still owe me that rematch." Clary says with a wink.

Magnus looks at them with a grin, "Oh what rematch?"

Clary rolls her eyes, "a knife throwing rematch Magnus."

"Sure it is," Alec chuckles.

As Jace and Clary leave Magnus calls to them, "Have fun!"

Jace laughs as he pulls Clary along behind him, "Oh you are so going to lose Fray."

"I wouldn't bet on it Herondale." They laugh as they round the corner.

They both stop short when they hear the lowered voices of Isabelle and Simon.

Jace goes to announce themselves to the two talking but Clary pulls him back and puts a hand over his mouth, "Sh" She whispers.

…

"What's wrong Isabelle?"

"Simon when brother Enoch he told me that it would be twins he also told me that he didn't know what they would be like."

"What do you mean Iz?"

"I mean there has never been a shadowhunter-vampire baby before so they don't know what will happen once they are born."

"Is that a bad thing?" Simon asks.

"Yes!" Isabelle exclaims, "The babies could be still-born."

"Okay, that's bad. What are we gonna do?"

"We can't tell anyone," Isabelle sobs, "we have to wait and see."

Simon pulls her close and strokes her hair, "it will be alright. You'll see."

…

"Oh my," Clary exclaims to Jace quietly. They look at each other with shock in their eyes.

"We won't say anything," Jace confirms with Clary.

"Right, that's their secret and we won't say anything." Clary nods her head as they sneak off down the hall.
