2 weeks later…

"Clary, can you hold Gabriel and Sophia for me?" Isabelle asks out of breath.

"Sure Isabelle, bring them here." Clary replied taking the babies from Isabelle.

"Thanks Ale- I mean Clary," Isabelle said shaking her head, "Sorry."

Clary laughs and brings the babies to the library where Jace, Alec, Magus, and Simon sat around the fireplace.

Simon stands up and takes Gabriel from her.

"Thanks." Clary said sitting down gently beside Jace.

"The matching sparkly sleepers are a lovely touch." Magnus adds with a flamboyant hand movement.

Gabriel started to cry. Simon tried; but failed to rock him back to sleep.

"ISABELLE!" Simon screamed.

"Shut up!" Isabelle screamed from the other room "and leave me alone!"

Jace held back a laugh.

Clary gave a sleeping Sophie to Jace, and took Gabriel from Simon.

Simon watched in amazement as Clary rocked the baby to sleep.

"You're welcome?" Clary joked.

Simon shook his head, "Can you watch them for a while?" Simon asked "I have to care of some…stuff."

"Yeah," Clary said "but I have to train in an hour so only until then."

Simon opened his mouth to respond, but Clary stopped him realizing her mistake. She put her hand up and pointed at him "uh uh," she said "One more training joke and I will kill you." Clary joked.

"She's rather capable, you know." Jace said.

"Yeah all that,-"Magnus was about to say.

Clary cut him off, "You know what? You are all going to watch us train, because we are NOT doing what you think we're doing!"

"Oooh," Magnus said "I call front row!"

"As soon as Simon comes back you're all going to come and watch!"

…

"What do you think about this?" Isabelle said.

"No," Simon said "and No!"

"Well why not?" Isabelle asks, crossing her arms in front of her.

"Because it's dangerous," he said "and anything could happen."

Tears filled Isabelle's eyes "You and Sophie and Gabriel will live forever," she said "I will die, and they will be without a mother."

Simon looked at her blankly.

"If you don't to agree to this I will find another way…" her voice was threatening.

Simon said nothing.

"Before our children nothing would have made me choose anything over being a shadowhunter but I will do anything for my children and I want to be around to watch them grow up." Isabelle states sharply.

She and Simon stare at each other for a minute, not saying anything. Alec comes strolling into the room. Not noticing the tension he says, "They are starting, are you coming to watch?"

Isabelle says, "We'll be there in a minute Alec."

He nods and leaves the room.

"Fine Isabelle… If that's what you really want. I will bite you," Simon says this then leaves the room.
